Revised and updated, the Breastfeeding Answer Book is the definitive resource for those who are dedicated to helping mothers breastfeed. Highlights of the third edition include new approaches to positioning and latch-on, information on the use of prescription and herbal medications to increase milk supply, new illustrations of breast structure and how the breast functions as reflected in the research of Dr Peter Hartmann, and information on breastfeeding in emergency situations. I used this book as a breastfeeding counselor. I don't really need to look into it anymore; I've been doing this for 14 years. It guides the breastfeeding counselor not only through the relevant breastfeeding information and which questions to ask, but it guides the counselor to use good listening and counseling skills. Required for all La Leche League Leaders; highly recommended for anyone who works with breastfeeding mothers.

Definitely not something you can just read through, but if you want the equivalent of a college textbook on breastfeeding, this is it. Lots and lots of information and many issues I had never even considered because they are out of my own breastfeeding experience.
