After the birth of his first child, Daniel Ostermayer, an emergency physician experienced conflicting messages from his physician friends and the behavior of his infant daughter. She would only ever sleep and breast feed if in the same bed with her mother. Having been taught that co-sleeping was dangerous but seeing the ease at which his wife and daughter could sleep and breast feed, he went down the rabbit hole of science to learn the truth about co-sleeping.What he discovered was the largely unknown science of infant co-sleeping. He condensed all the research down to the essentials so that any new parents (or doctors) can make an informed and intelligent choice about how best to sleep with (or in the same room as) their children.
