An attractive cover, catchy title and interesting subtitle - "Secrets to Super Charge Health", these things got my attention when I saw "Think, Eat, Live Smart" by Anjali Hooda Sangwan. In the last one and a half year, since we expanded and started exploring books in other genres, health/diet related books became regular in our schedule. I think in the last 18 months we have read more than 8 books in said genre. These books have directly or indirectly left a healthy impact on my lifestyle. I think every book I have read from this genre at least one thing I started new from each of them. Also, I cannot say no to Anjali's book as it attests years of her experience in the field of obesity and diet.

Unlike other books I have read, Anjali has taken the case study approach. By case study, I mean the author would provide lifestyle & habits of an individual/patient in details including exercise and dietic schedule. These case studies are segregated based on 5-6 topics. Each case study followed by what is wrong or could be still improved. In many cases, the patient thinks he/she is doing or following proper methodology, even you may feel that they are taking the right path. Anjali has properly given plus and minus of those schedule along with improvement/suggestions.

Last 2-3 chapter covers direct advice related to medicine, yoga or exercise, recipes - healthy and equally tasty. The last chapter is about a cheat meal. I liked the concept of a cheat meal. It is leniency in your regime to keep your happiness scale up.

Overall a fantastic read. The language used is simple and easy. Even basic English learner can read it. Easy to follow instructions. No theory or fundas. To the point, example-driven exercise to readers.

A sure shot recommendation to health lovers. I would give 4.5/5 to the book.

Since last year, I have been trying to read more books in healthy and fitness genre.  Think, Eat, Live Smart by Dr. Anjali Hooda Sangwan to me felt like a very realistic approach towards lifestyle. The author took a different writing style and method towards guiding people on how to lead a healthy lifestyle through case studies. She writes about the cases of her patients, describing vitals about her patient first and how she planned to treat them. The problems are very common ; ranging from skin allergies, diabetes, thyroid, etc.

Dr. Anjali also busts some myths about the fad diets like Liquid Diet, Food Diet, Low Carbs Diet etc and also explains this by a case study and what were the ill effects of following such a diet. She also busts myths about some food focusing on their nutrient levels and whether the consumption is good or not.

There is a separate section of healthy recipes that are not only very easy to make but, are very healthy and can be incorporated in your daily life. My favorite part was the last section named - The Cheat Sheet. I won't give you any spoiler of what that says or if Dr. Anjali gives any recipe but, this definitely should make you pick this book.

Overall, this is one handy guide that everyone must read at least once in their life and if not follow it completely, you must take this in consideration and make relevant changes in your life to lead a healthy and long life.

BOOK REVIEW
Think, Eat, Live Smart by Dr. Anjali Hooda Sangwan, MD
⭐️ Rating: 4/5

This book is a great mix of knowledge, real-life experiences, and easy tips for anyone who wants to live a healthier life.

Dr. Anjali’s writing is gripping and focused—she keeps things clear and to the point. The best part is that it doesn’t feel complicated at all. Whether you're a beginner or someone already on a health journey, this book is very easy to follow.

🧠 She talks about:

Why we gain weight and the role of hormones like insulin, cortisol, and thyroid

How to balance health with taste (yes, it's possible!)

Common diets like fad diets, low-calorie diets, and liquid diets—and what really works

The hidden truth behind food ads and how big companies trick us with sugar and salt

How to avoid overeating at weddings and parties (a tip I loved: eat a little at home before you go!)

Food myths, urban lifestyle issues, and daily diet mistakes

How vitamins, minerals, sleep, water, and stress all play a big role in our health

✨ The book also shares real case studies—stories of people just like us—which makes it even more relatable.

🍽️ At the end, you’ll even find some simple, healthy recipes you can try at home!

This book is like a health guide for the entire family. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to lose weight the right way, improve their eating habits, and live a better, disease-free life.

📚 Read it to feel informed, empowered, and ready to take charge of your health—one smart choice at a time.

Ever since I was diagnosed with PCOD two years ago, I have possibly read and heard about hundreds of tips for losing weight. I have consulted almost 6 doctors/dieticians till now and each one of them has given me a different list of what I should eat and what not.

For almost a year, I felt lost. I am very choosy when it comes to food and following all these extreme dietary changes was getting on my nerves.
So I started doing my own research on healthy and holistic lifestyle. 'Think Eat Live Smart' by Dr.Anjali Hooda Sangwan touches upon various subjects like food, food myths, Indian diet, stress management, portion control, importance of sleep, hormonal imbalance, etc.
The author has taken a case study approach. I loved the author's take on good health and how she explains that we should not decide our worth based on the number on the scale. She has tried to focus more on a healthy lifestyle, self love and self respect.
Loving yourself is when you respect your mind and body. Loving your body mean you love the way you look and don't put junk or fill it with poison like alcohol or drugs.
The whole idea behind this book is to understand your body, your diseases and figuring out a plan-a health plan, a fitness plan and a spiritual plan- so that you are your own priority.
