I just started reading this book.

And into a mere 4 pages, this one has already got my brain and my Google search on fire!

I won't care much about how I would review or rate such kind of books. Because such books come out once in a while to our notice.

I am going in depth and ready for some serious non-fiction heavy reading.

This type of book lets me do lots of research and keep in touch with amazing facts and information.

Everything that is written in this book is so freaking stimulating!

Whys, whats and hows of the many things that are discussed here has been summed up so systematically and beautifully!

The writing style us just amazing!

You cannot stop once you start reading the prologue itself.

The first chapter on Alan Turing fascinated me so much!

I appreciate the author for bringing out issues on controversial topics that were seemingly buried or hushed up.

Then comes the part of Artificial Intelligence(AI) which is being handled well at this context.

The discussion on this issue has been explained in terms of historical facts; the scientific explanations with such zeal and enthusiasm that it is hard to ignore.

Who doesn't love Richard Feynman ?

If you are coming from a world of science and if you say you haven't heard of him, I would really find it difficult to trust you.

I really love how the author did a thorough research of all the topics being discussed in this book in such a clever manner.

The way nanotechnology and quantum mechanics (by the way, the part I am really interested in while reading this book!) has been represented is amazing.

These topics have been represented to the readers in the most simplistic, brief summary.

What I love the most in between are the quotes, anecdotes and the little known facts that are fit in at the most appropriate places.

This book is turning out to be one of theost unexpected enjoyable reads indeed! Oh, genetics!

Totally loved section I!

Moving on to section II, there's the discussion on the internet and its impact on our lives.

Mere truths but totally insightful.

However, the brief argumentative part on science of probability on relationships and compatibility was really interesting!

The next part on maths, elections and politicians had the right kind of vibes.

What part of Bitcoin wouldn't arise your curiosity? I specifically had a great time reading this part.

Personal data and privacy issues are brought up just at the right time of this book. Now I know what I am supposed to know and be aware of.

The best parts where everyone can relate with ease are the parts discussed next (starting from page 126 to 148) dealing with jobs, love, sex and AI.

AND THE BEST PART I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED is the Ethics and AI: Ethics Now Not for Man Alone. It really opened up my mind.

I fell in love with this section too!

Next comes section III dealing with the magic of math.

For some reason, I have always been attracted to the stories of mathematicians and how such geniuses loved their subject.

(Bless the author for introducing me to Alan Turing!)

It will be too less for me to describe how much I loved this entire section!!!

This part has been so incredibly well done!

My most favourite perfect section of the entire book.

(Psst...I read this section many a times that I have lost count by now.)

Section IV deals with astrology.

Oh damn, I didn't see the poetry pages coming up!

Damn scientifically and astrologically poetic!

One of the best portion of the book comes here with discussion on happiness!

I truly appreciate the fact that the author tries to link with the best possible human emotion with science. Brief and subtlety bits!

I love the author for this part the most!

Give me something extraterrestrial ! And he delivered!

But I need more than is given in the book. I need more. I mean it.

I am not satisfied.

The upcoming pages on Simulation is something that is new to me.

What made this part special is the explanation on the various theories on it. (This book is making me fall in love with science all over again!)

The last section V comes up with many uncertainties!

The human of the future, how we are going to take religion in the future and the inevitable science of robots.

I finished up the book questioning myself : have I truly become a cyborg ? Will I be proud if I become one or if O come to know of one?

You know you have read a good book when you end up questioning lots of stuffs about yourself and everything that you know of.

You know you have read a good book when the book throws itself on you and you somehow want to include it in your future.

You know you have read a good book when it makes you answer things differently from before.

You know you have read a good book when you argue with it and learning new things in return.

Loved it!

Where Will Man Take Us?: The bold story of the man technology is creating - as the title is referring, the book straightaway talks about the pros and cons of technology we are surrounded with.

With detailed and intriguing discussions among the five sections of the book, the main focus lies on how modern technology is affecting the human race or our species, amidst the main aim of easing our lives with these technologies.

The first section puts light on the impact of Artificial Intelligence and Nanotechnology on our economy and social life.
And the other sections discuss about quantum computing, genetics and the changing dynamics of life.

With the help of quotes from many famous researchers and scientists and technosavvy narration, the author indeed succeeded in making this read an intriguing and interesting one rather than a boring one.

At times, the technical background of the writing makes it difficult to understand the main point. So, recommended to regualr readers who have a rich taste of vocabulary.

Many breath-taking and eye-opening are served to us while the reading course of the book. We as humans, created this technology to ease our lives, but as the book highlights, the tech is bringing about changes in our lives, the ones which we had never expected of, we had never wished of.

This technology is really intervening into our lives, our morals, our ethics and human species in all.

'The perfect partner might need to be charged before bed'- ending with the one of my many favourite lines from the book.

WHERE WILL MAN TAKE US? by Atul Jalan

I decided to check this book out due to mainly two reasons.

1) I have been seeing this book being recommended a lot by My Secret Bookshelf. #teammysecretbookshelf

2) I am doing a research paper on Dystopian Societies as on Fiction and their real life counterparts! This book deals with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and I thought this might be a potential guide,

and it did!!

This book is divided into 5 sections
i. The Drivers Of Change
ii. The New Society
iii. The Magic Of Math
iv.The End Of Mystery
v. The New Man

What I liked

The writing style is simple and easy to understand. It is well written and well researched. The book is really engaging (which I love the most). Each section holds so many great ideas and info about things that we don't even really consider when we think about Technology or AI. It's just great when a book makes you say out loud wow

Also, this book introduced me to a great persona who was way ahead of his time with his thinking:
Alan Turing and his question that makes me ponder deep

Can machines think?

And this book gave me a lot of information on mind blowing things/ inventions!

Have you heard of Torok?

"A Torok or The Turk was a mechanical chess player created by a Hungarian, Wolfgang von Kempelen, to impress Empress Maria Theresa of Austria. In 1770!"

I didn't know & I was dumbfound!

This book also covers nanotechnology, fake news, and bitcoins too.

I didn't know anything about bitcoins until I read this book.

I could go on and list so many things that I previously didn't know about and this book taught me. But, we are here not for that!

The only thing that I didn't like was that sometimes it felt like "textbook info dumping" to me. It did turn me off a little bit. Maybe because I was researching for my project.

To conclude, I would say that this book was a definite hit for me. Totally recommend it if you like non-fiction.

Book: Where will man take us?
Author: Atul jalan.
Favourite quote: SOMETIMES IT IS PEOPLE NO ONE CAN IMAGINE ANYTHING OF,
WHO DO THE THINGS NO ONE CAN IMAGINE.

Review: This book is a blend of technology with History,Philosophy, Mathematics, Physics, Genetics, Astrology, Chemistry and Religion. The author has somehow managed to make Artificial intelligence,Nanotechnology, Quantum computing, Bitcoin understandable without boring the reader. The book is divided into five sections:
A The Drivers Of Change
B The New Society
C The Magic Of Math
D The End Of Mystery
E The New Man

The language is simple, flow of the chapters is lucid but the version of AI blew me .
The vision of the author is keen . He has put in great amount of research to make it a compelling read. The topic of Alan Turing at the start of the book had me hooked. All the non fiction lovers should give this book a read.
I have to just put this out I am kind of intimidated by this book and it goes in my re read pile.
You have finally made me understand bitcoin and nanotechnology.

Name of the book- Where Will Man Take Us?: The bold story of the man technology is creating by Atul Jalan.
Stars given - 3 out of 5 stars.
My take on the book-
So firstly I would like to say that I don't know why I just couldn't connect with this book.
It has everything I like in one.
Simple language- Check.
Amazing topic - Check.
Good flow in the book- Check.
I started this one in the evening and some 3 hours later I finished it.
Loved the cover, it reminds me of mangoes .
But let's go back to the book.
It's about what was and how it is now and how it might be in the future.
Normally this would be something in my ball park and I would eat it up with a spoon. But this time around I kinda felt left out of the conversation.
But I would suggest others to try it and it might just work out for you.

Artificial Intelligence is the concept with the maximum buzz in current times. However, any training or briefing around AI is predominantly starting with popular concepts like Self driven cars or Robotics. Author Atul starts this book with details on how the whole discussion around AI started not in recent times but from almost six decades ago. The book is divided into five sections and each section appropriately delves into the multiple facets of AI.

The first section Drivers of Change touches on the origin of AI and touches on the concepts around Nanotechnology, Quantum Computing and Genetics. The second section is dedicated to how AI is transforming the society starting from affecting voting choices to Blockchain driven monetary transactions to the argument around data privacy and ownership.

The third section touches on how Math is central to this entire concept and how calculations happened centuries ago. The forth section delves into the mysteries beyond the known knowledge like astrology, extraterrestrial life. The last and final section discusses about the New age man on how technology might create the human with required qualities, how technology is already increasing the lifespan of humans and some futuristic thinking.

This book is an interesting read for all those who want to know about Artificial Intelligence beyond the technical jargon. The author brilliantly captures the concepts from older times comparing them to the known technologies and sciences from current times to even futuristic expectations. The flow of the concepts across the sections is well planned. So is the language and examples which are easy to understand and relate to.

If you are a science enthusiast or aspiring to work in future in Artificial Intelligence, this book is a must read. For those not belonging to these categories, this can be given a try to stay relevant in the current times and to grasp interesting concepts.

Camus said, "Man is the only creature who refuses to be what he is."

And rightly so, man is the being who never stopped evolving. With the aid of his intelligence and curiosity, he has come to become invincible. Man created technology to be of help to him but guess what, as the book throws surprises at us, the technology is engineering a new human!

Where Will Man Take Us? is an elaborate account of how mankind is impacted by the highly advanced automation. The introductory chapter on Alan Turing fascinated me greatly. My interest was piqued and I knew that there won't be any looking back. The book explicates with examples that how the new technology is creating a new man which in turn is forming a new society. A society of filter bubble and what not. The author deftly maneuvres his way through the intricacies of nanotechnology, biology, mathematics, and not to forget the Artificial Intelligence. With a lucid writing style and ample quotes, the author did a brilliant job in putting up with a grand show of the evolution of a new man.

The author goes on to explain the effects of technology on the dynamics of our lives and behavior. His cautionary tone does the work of hinting us the ill effects of social media on our cognitive behavior, non-stop circulation of fake news, living under the blanket of constant surveillance and surviving in times when everyone has the right to enter our private space except us. We are so drawn towards easing our living that we are hitting on robots. Like seriously, robots are being created to get away with the strain of human relationships. In the process of making more intelligent machines, we have become one.

This book alarms us to the future we are headed to. It brings us to the truth of us becoming cyborgs. It opens up our mind to the solitary lives we are leading and the cascading effects of putting ourselves in the black hole of the technology. As Kurzweil observes," the extraordinary change would become increasingly common and it would bring... technological change so rapid and profound that it represents a rupture in the fabric of human history."

The author had incredibly weaved a book with enormous research put with candor. There is a seamless flow of information which stimulates our senses and provides an insight into the truths staring wide at us. The language is simple which would make it easy for everyone to read this book and assimilate the thought process it intends to generate. The book gives a way to kickstart discourses on the usage of technology and how far we are supposed to take it.

Where will man take us is a fascinating book that talks about technology that seems to be ruling over lives. The powerful advanced AI leading to the growth and development of the world. Not only the author speaks about the advancement, he also established various stances on how our human mind is solely focused on application of latest tech in order to lead a happy and secure life.

As technology keeps on advancing and judging by its progress, I am guessing it’s not going to slow down any time soon, we have become bound to it like need for oxygen. We feel or I should I say have made ourselves perceive technology as a vital part of everyday work and life. It is strategically pulling the strings as people acts as its puppets. All the data, communications, nanotechnology and literally every tiny thing that has been occurring for the past many years have been well described in this book.

Our thoughts are engaged in a constant unending war of balancing ideologies and accepting technology as a part of our lives. Sometimes they would overwhelm us while rest of the times we feel that some new features or advancements are missing and that creates a mindset that we aren’t up to date with the world.

Where will man takes us is a knowledge bank in my opinion. This book must be included in school and college academic syllabus so the students can see the vast continuing changes as well as progress that are made in different fields and not only for our own country but also for other countries. It is important to know the technology that surrounds our life and that we use everyday are not that easy not built. It takes a herculean effort to perfect the proper and efficient mechanism so that it works without any glitches and can be deemed as safe and secure to use by the public. The author included words of many famous scientists, authors, philosophers etc using it as a simple way of conveying a certain situation and I think readers can also grasp other important personality’s achievements. Learning is a chain process and this book is a must read for all the curious minds out there.

the writing style of the book is very simple and the language is lucid.

"Fake news has a tendency to spread like wildfire. But clarifications travel at a snail's pace. Fake news spread like greased lightening across social media networks. A study on fake news by MIT showed that a fake story can reach 1500 people six times faster than a true story. Six times faster than the truth!"

📙This book is all about technology in the first part like AI and nanotechnology and how it has affected us. Later that, it talks about the social effect of technology. It goes into the depth. It discuss the history, present and predicts the future of technology and its possible impact on us.

📙Thanks to its interesting narrating style, the book doesn't bore the reader. The author has tried his best to engage the reader even though the subject isn't that interesting (obviously, not to everyone).

📙The author has used quotes from the philosophers and other books which makes the content more appealing.

📙The language is a bit difficult and may cause hinderance in the reading experience of the novice readers.

📙I've sensed that there are times when the author used the terms which are not in common use and are hard to decipher by the common reader who has no engineering background.

📙Whether you'll like this book or not depends heavily on your reding taste. If you like books themed on the technology then you may like it otherwise it will bore you to the core.

📙I really loved the portion on "The filter bubble".

Technology is one of the greatest inventions of humankind to ease up things but this invention of his has also brought some side-effects as well.
Where Will Man Take Us? by Atul Jalan tells us about the pros and cons of technology man is developing each and every day and the path where it is taking us. From Alan Turing to Erwin Schrödinger made attempts in their lifetime which laid the path for further future development in the field of technology.
This book tells us how we have made advancement in technology and how this technology is taking over us in every way possible. It covers everything from Artificial Intelligence to Quantum Computing.
The book comprises of 5 sections where the author has discussed the impact of science and technology and where its evolution is leading us. The advancement of technology is restricting us in our pitchers where we generally prefer to have interaction with like-minded people.
I very much liked “The Filter Bubble: Many More of Me” in section two where the author talks about how we prefer to live with like-minded people which hinders our rational thinking. In this internet age, we don’t prefer to research well instead go for those false
information which matches with our thoughts and we are constantly fed by misinformation which we believe to be true and become intolerant of other views. The internet feeds us with kind of information we prefer to read thereby insolating us from other things happening in the world simultaneously.
I think this book is must read and will be definitely relished by those readers who prefer to know read science stuff. While reading one can truly understand that the author has done a good amount of research and has good knowledge about technology. The writing style is perfect for this kind of subject but I would say that one having basic knowledge about computers and related stuff can understand more nicely.

Verdict: It is a good book for science enthusiasts.

REVIEW- The physical overview is fabulous and the color, quality, text, contrast looks awesome. The writing way was simple and easy to read. On the other side, the author is talked in beautiful way about the technology and the role of different people in it like Stephen Hawkins and other well-known persons. The best part of this book was the author explained that the men can be fit in any time of aging. As Stephen Hawkins is my motivator, the explanation mentioned in this book is that our future could be in danger if someday, the developed technology (it could be robotic in my knowledge I think) could replace the human because the development in the technology. However, if you love to read and wants to gain knowledge, I will damn sure you’ll love this book ..

When I read the book, I did get excited by the amount of information and background history behind every topic made in the book. The link of past to future via present is very exciting. I began having high expectations, especially after reading that development in computers part where history was very enlightening. But in some sections, I felt it better to skip the chapters because they were a bit too detailed enough to read in a go. I wished the author worked more on making it bit more hooking, though that wish of mine is quite ridiculous after going through the level of literary effort in the book.
A must-read to every curious cat.

Everyone is saying Science with fiction or technology. But to be true, the book I felt is not exactly that. It starts with running about various scientific advancements and failurs in past and connects them to the version of present. You feel like "Ohh! Is that so?"

The book is quite informative. The author made things quite lucid and simple though it could have been more technically detailed if that simplicity was reduced but then the layman audience would have missed the whole content.

The book also revolves arounds some quotes, ideological future and competitive past but the present he made quite like the reader gets involved himself or herself that is really appreciated. When My secret bookshlef recommended this book to me, I was dubstruck by the initial conplexity but then I couldnt keep the book down.

The editing and proof reading looks really good as the facts of past have been very clearly clarified which makes the foundation of book undebatably reliable. In most cases the author made me realise that I too started thinking my own versions of situations in different time period which is really appreciated.

The book ends with various points that feels like question for a question. The manner in which it is put feels, you long for more chapters in book. In short one must read this book.

It was indeed a new concept for me to read. Coming to the cover and the title both go hand in hand, The book talks about technology how it has ruined us how we are taking it from the ancient time till the present date and the future society too. It will surely engrossed you in the book as it talks about all new ideas, new topics, new as well as different i guess. The author has done a good research while writing this book and I think it is a one time read as it is related to the humans and its connection with techonologies.
I will recommend this book to all the readers out there.
A must read.
A good read.

behind us, is Homo sapiens.
Behind us, is a whole new species.
We are the traditional generation.
What a great place and time to be in!
These were the lines of this book I saw in someone's story and I wanted to read it.

This book is divided into 5 parts-the driver of changes, the new society, the magic of maths, the end of mystery and the new man. All parts of book  describes the influences of technology in different aspects of life from politics to relationships, from religion to currency.

This gives us detailed information about the history of technology and how much time it would take to evolve from Artificial general Intelligence to Artificial Super Intelligence.

How the technology like social media that was invented to widen our world is making us the frog of pitcher as our likes totally control our social media profile and makes us connect with only like minded people.

There is famous quotation of Turing that is repeated again and again in this Novel,
'CAN MACHINE THINK'???.
This one line is basic concept of artificial Intelligence. What will be consequences when machine would start evolving just like human beings??? It is also possible that human will turn into machines - cyborg..Our biology is already merging with the technology.

We all are familiar with alexa but how many of us are aware of Sophia??? Now - a - days when we are alienated to make the career, will there come a day when our need of companionship fulfill by Machines???

This novels gives us a vivid description of the role that technology played in the elections of America and how technology changes our opinion without even knowing us that we are under the influence of social media.

In this book, there is a brief discussion of scientific discoveries and scientific theories and how religion in interrelated with the technology.
Technology is even playing a role in matchmaking.

Do you Beleive that technology reduces the number of jobs?? Technology actually increases the number of jobs in every domain.

There will be a day when man become mortal, and we will be able to transfer our memories into chips and stores in the cloud.. This seems the science fiction for us, but with the help of technology it would be possible.

This will be new industrial revolution and a new era of technology. We still need to go afar to reach there.

Language is easy and easy to understand. Author has done a great research to write this book. There is bibliography and endnotes section in the last which gives us information about the seminar, researches that has been used in the book.

Name - Where Will Man Take Us
Author - Atul Jalan
Pages -312
Format - Paperback
Genre - Non-Fiction

This is the first non-fiction book I've ever read. It explores the dynamics of the technology, how it's reinventing us, as a society and as a species. This book took my outlook to a whole new level, with topics ranging from artificial intelligence to quantum physics, genetics and nanotechnology being woven together into a contemporary and compelling narrative on the trajectory of human evolution. But, we are also forced to ask ourselves some serious questions - what is it to be human, what is self awareness, what is is consciousness etc.

The book consists of 5 sections. Each section is divided into many chapters in which author talked about the topics I've mentioned above and its impact on the society. It's started with evolution of species and moved to technology. How man made it and how it reinventing the man and other generation.

We love interpreting trends, looking at the changes that are happening around us to figure the flow of the world, life and our selves. The past and present offer clues, in subjects ranging from philosophy and spirituality to science and culture.

REVIEW -

Reading this book, I realise I have never seen a convergence of facts and ideas, until now, from a wide range of domains in an attempt to uncover the trends that we often miss when we’re busy in our daily lives. I really loved reading it. The cover is bright and beautiful, title resembles the content. Plot is unique, bold and thoroughly researched. Language is easy to understand, chapters broken down in small segments makes the reading trouble free. Quotes used and bibliography at the end made it reader's friendly. My favourite part was - how our privacy is not ours anymore and is locked in other's storage in another place of world! 😅
Things got confusing for sometime when author told about simulations and Mario in some other's game. It was hard for me to open my mind to the possibility.

Atul Jalan’s book is a must read for any perceptive mind willing take a pause and look at life-technology intersections that are going to change how you see our society, our relationships, our jobs and money, our fast evolving non-biological selves, and quite possibly our approach to parenting the next generation. I highly recommend to all the tech lovers to read it and share your views about it.

We live in a digital era, where everything is controlled by technology, the technology that humans have created. From tough computations to everyday jobs, all are done by that tiny or humongous software that a man has coded. We now have everything that we could have never imagined and more is yet to come to try to satiate us.

Doesn't that all make the man a master to all the slave machines which work for us?

Although the technology was created and designed to help and serve humanity, we are now way too much dependent on it. The master is now the slave. We are so much dependent on it that I doubt how long will we be able to live without it. The technology made to save our time eats the most of it. It has become the total opposite of what the creators have thought of.

Atul Jalan has tried to put in the history of the technology in lucid words for us to understand the struggle of making what we enjoy. The future of what may happen to this over the top dependency on it. Every new chapter is a different journey to the technical world. He has used every chapter to make us learn something new and make us realize the pros, and most importantly, the cons of what we are using or rather living with.

The writing style is very engaging and drowns you in the incidents like you yourself have experienced them. Certain parts of the book may not be easy to comprehend to some people as they contain several tech-savvy stuff. But it's worth a read by everyone because all of us are somewhere or the other, related to the technology.

“…personal data is the new oil of the internet and the new currency of the digital world.”
“If a robot behaves in a way that we would consider uncouth in a human, then by Turing’s standard we should describe that robot’s behavior uncouth.”
“The perfect partner might need to be charged before bed.”
The book “Where Will Man Take Us”, by Atul Jalan is a book talking about new man’s world and technology where the man who began this journey won’t be the man who ends this journey. This book explores the various aspects of society as a species.
So, are you a science student? Does that sound like it needs a bit of science background? No! not a bit, but a hell lot of it. And all I could understand were the physics laws to AI to the various shifts from genetics to having sex with robots.
The best part about this book was the characterization of the subjects when one meets with other. Like what happens when biology meets mathematics or when it became big and met Big data and Big money. I was amazed at the authors brilliant performance and the ease with which he has handled all the topics ranging from computer science including machine language to machine learning. He had his flow in writing and did justification on being a science student, if he’s one of them! I’m sure he is. He has provided the plethora of every scientific details weaved with a whole lot of philosophies from four thousand years back to the present generation technology and the possibilities of future in a single book.
But if you aren’t a science enthusiast then you might feel left-out and may not continue with it. Nevertheless, you can find the authors intention of writing this high-standard units of phonemes and how he has focused upon the never-ending possibilities by showing us that the ‘The Boxes Never Stopped Opening’. He has included all those scientists name which, almost each one of us would have heard during our school days.
The writing style of the author is very lucid and classy. A great deal of research has been conducted by Mr. Jalan which is quite evident by the various quotes used throughout the book as it is divided into five diverse section each different from the other. The pace of the book is good in the beginning but slow as one continues reading it. It will make you feel something out of your comfort zone and it is worth reading till the end.
Last but not the least is the learning one can take from Atul Jalan -Mysteries are meant to be solved and there is definitely an end to all the mysteries we often come across or hear from the great minds. On the other side, the future is endless because we will always find more.

I am not usually a non-fiction reader because they bore me. This book didn't because the writing flowed so well with the topics being discussed. The book starts with a story-telling catch about evolution, naming the fish as Wanda and then her descended as Lucy, wondering what they were thinking when they got out of the water or climbed down the tree that made evolution possible.

Going further it talks about Alan Turing, having studied engineering I am aware of him and a lot of other things mentioned in this book. I have always been fascinated with AI, as have many, so reading about where it began, the first steps, going forward to futuristic views was really interesting to me. The book discusses nanotechnology, quantum computing, blockchain and cryptography, data privacy, genetics, astrology, simulation, etc. Every topic is broken down to it's beginning, the impact of technology, the hows and whys, and the future scope conversation.

One great thing about this book is that even though it touches on technology and science of things, it will not overwhelm someone who has no background on any of these things. No page feels like an info-dump.

To speculate over things in an efficient manner it is important to simplify what your thought process is, especially when it comes to niche topics, and I think that is well done in this book. This book opens up a conversation for people who have read it. It doesn't tell you what to think, instead, it leads you to what needs to be discussed.

This book is not something to gobble down in one read. This is one of those where you need to read a little, take a pause, and think about it or better yet, spark a conversation with someone. I do believe it can be a source of some great discussions and deliberations.

An imagination of "what if" machine control human and eventually outsmart human intelligence led to the establishment of the philosophy of AI. The evolution of AI with time which started with curiosity and as a challenge to understand analytical skills through permutations and combination in the form of preset and program and further self-modified into system's own permutation-combination brought us to an age where the physical and digital world got mixed and blurred up. While the technology sounds like something derived from human grey matter its actually opposite. Technology lies at the very base of the foundation of how nature works from bright colors in the wings of the monarch butterflies to sub-atomic particles. It's us who get inspired and mirrored by the laws of nature. While talking about evolution the author talked how science and philosophy and religious sentiments at times intertwined and gets into conflict with each other. The author didn't just focus on just one sector of technology, the book talks about quantum, nanotechnology, AI, blockchain technology, cryptocurrency among many others. One of the notable features about the writing style is how effortlessly author moves between past, present, and future with lots of examples and scientific evidence. In general, this kind of writing is observed in fiction books but for nonfiction one, it brings it to whole new another level. While the book is near to flawless I doubt if this would cater to the interest of those who are not interested in technology for that matter.

Let me tell you guys one thing clearly if you are into technology and all sort of stuff then pick this book as your read otherwise, you will only end up getting bored while reading this.
The book is mainly based on artificial intelligence, nanotechnology and much more. The author has done a great work and research by telling us how the technology is affecting us and how will it affect us in future.
Author has used many quotes in between which made it more interesting to read. The cover of the book is simple and beautiful, I liked the colour. The title is totally related to the book.
The flow of book is well paced. Coming to the language used, it was bit difficult for me to understand. As, there were few terms which were tough for me to catch. Otherwise, the narration was good going and writing style of the author is appreciable. I must say, it was a unique read. The book is full of knowledge and informations.
Overall, I enjoyed reading it.

To begin with, the cover is very attractive and unique. I loved its concept and how it is made simple yet so attractive.
About the book? Have you ever read a book, for which every page is a wow for you? This book is that for me. Being a tech-lover this book was like amazinggg me. All the chapters had some or the other information which I was totally unaware of. The facts that can actually blow your mind. If I had to rate this book on the scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this book a 15. The author has described difficult and complex topics so easily and in such simple language, it rises the interest even more. Divided in 5 major parts, this book tries to cover all the aspects of modern technology. I could actually see the efforts and research the author might has done before writing this book.
If you love technology and really want to know where will man take us, you should read this book one. I highly love and recommend this book. It is surely getting added in my favourite book’s list.

Phew.... I finished the book. It was a lengthy but definitely a knowledgeable read.
I m not a non-fiction fan but the book kept me engaged.
Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, nanotechnology are the terms we hear very often, these days. The book, not only, throws light on these concepts but also covers many more subjects related to biology, history, philosophy, chemistry, astrology, astronomy and even religion.
Book beautifully describes that how man creates technology and then technology recreates the entire outlook of mankind. AI, as a concept, though we starting to know about in recent years but it is an age old thing, at least a few decades older.
The examples from history and mythology are creatively weaved in the book.
Together with a vibrant cover, great content and concept, it is a brilliantly crafted piece of work.
Highly recommended to understand the relationship the man and technology share.

"Behind us, is Homo Sepiens.
Before us,is a whole new species.
We are the transitional generation.
What a great place and time to be in! "

The cover is simple but powerfull. It Is A Non-Fiction. Atul Jalan has mentioned several eye-opening concepts which are living and breathing everyday but but are known a little, and has wonderfully explained the relation between machines and technology in our everyday lives. The topics are divided into sections such as nanotechnology, Artificial Intelligence,Quantum Computing, Maths , Science,Physics. Atul Jalan has broken down these topics into smallest pieces for the best delivery of knowledge in this regard.

The writing style is well written ,though there are some typos. This book will make you think what is the future of man? Will machines take over man? The book also highlights on data security. Nothing is private, various apps have your data available with them. This data helps them to understands consumer behaviour and psychology.

The book is very very different from the ones i read, but i enjoyed reading it!

Book Name - : Where Will Man Take Us?: The bold story of the man technology is creating
Author :- Atul jalan
Publisher :- Penguin Portfolio
Publication date :- 13 Apr 2019
Language :- English
Book length :- 272

My review :-
Are you a technology lover?
Do you catch yourself daydreaming sometimes imagining the future? Suspend all your acquired knowledge for a few hours and go on a journey with the author who takes you on a rocket ship that jumps in and out of wormholes to connect philosophy, quantum physics, quantum mechanics and life, genetics, math, nano-technology, Ai and the deepest unanswered mystery of our time: consciousness. You might begin to get dizzy in places as you grapple with “conceptual overload” - but hold on, the author knows when to throw in his unique sense of humour and interesting stories to keep the pace of the book going.
I’d gift this book to all young minds who are passionate about technology and are dreaming of reinventing humankind.

My favourite parts in the book were when the author discusses about the AI  humanoid robot SOPHIA.

I will recommend this book  to young generation who love technology.

There has been remarkable work by Atul Jalan to link the past and present and his idea about future, together makes the book really exciting. To be true the style of writing used here is least attractive and makes the book very identical to textbook. But the information from tech to applied academic topics have been eye opener. The language and literary work meets to amount of hardwork behind the book which is highly appreciated.

In this era of drones, robots hi-tech phones and computers, are we losing the vital essence of humanity?
Sometimes I feel yes ,when I see iPads and iPhones in my 3 year old's hand. That excitement for games and videos that are streamed online is somewhere making our new generation losing its roots(and mind also).
Complete reliability on technology and on online data still confuses me and it is making us very vulnerable without our knowledge.

Where Will Man Take Us ? By Atul Jalan is an amazing and very informative book on technology and science. To this I will add that it’s just not technology and science, he has included many aspects from history to biology, from astrology to mathematics, from nanotechnology to quantum computing.
Book talks a lot about foundation of technology, and where we are heading in our coming future as superhumans.
Facts and figures given in this book will make you scratch your head if you not upto speed with it. Technology has always been double sided sword which only warriors know how to use, for their own benefit.
Author has clearly given the glimpses of coming future and the thirst of human beings to become immortal.
Very simple( though I failed to understand bitcoins and a chapter on maths) but a revolutionary book.
This book surely made me a little more knowledgeable person about the changing era.

Thanks to My Secret Bookshelf #mysecretbookshelf for recommending this book and Author Atul Jalan for giving this insight.

P.S.Note for author: Your book surely made my brain release a good amount of dopamine. Thanks!!

How technology came into existence and how will it twist our future is perfectly discussed in the book.
The quotes made the book more interesting to read.
Kudos to the author for writing this amazing book and I got to learn so much from this book like all the technical terms which I wasn't aware about before.

The cover is catchy and title is apt and interesting.
There were some points where I had to take help from my brother to understand the technical terms.
The book is for science lovers and I would not suggest beginners to go for this book.
My overall experience with this book was nice.
