Get the story behind the TV show--stories you won't find anywhere else!

Marissa and Summer are off to Hawaii. Marissa's expecting sun, fun, volcanoes, and hot guys. What does she get? Her dad dating. And the hottest guy she's met so far? Turns out he could be her future brother if things don't change.

Meanwhile, Seth and Ryan are enjoying the sights and sounds of New York City. They've got internships at a TV music station and life is good. Sort of. Who knew the mailroom could be more fun than hanging with the band?

An original story based on the hit TV show.

This book is ok, but this book would be great for people that likes that it drags out the main thing near the end of the book. This book reminded me of Dairy Queen because the drag out the main idea till the end of the book.

Wasn't as good as watching the actual show on tv. However, it was a nice little story that made me miss watching (new epsiodes of) the tv show a whole lot. Good for fans of the show.

A completely original, outside-the-canon story, which is definitely not an improvement. Set over spring break in season 2, the best part by far happens on page 7, when Ryan shrieks and "involuntarily" flails for Seth's hand/ends up clinging to his wrist with a death grip because he's afraid of airplane turbulence, or whatever thin excuse the author needed to get her slash on. The second best part is a brief exchange about Kavalier & Clay.

The rest is fine enough if you really want to read a brand-new adventure featuring your four favorite kids and you either lack the internet access required for fanfic, or you're too tired to face the chaos in order seek out a good one and you just want a novel-length story that has passed basic prerequisites for writing skill.

But while there is some good banter between the guys, and I was surprisingly fond of the 5-day love affair each one gets into with random girls in NY, there is really nothing memorable here. Also, much is made of Marissa acting like a spoiled baby in the girls' plot, but I failed to see what was so unreasonable about expecting her dad to not invite his girlfriend of 2 months and her son to join in on their activities every single day.

Book Rating:

The character that most changed from the beginning to the end was this guy who summer met in her spring break vacations in Hawaii. He was her age and he was a really cute guy. The minor character that then was an important was the same guy. An external conflict in the story was when she and her friends were on a party and they were kind of drunk and they got in a fight and she felt to sad. An internal conflict was when she discover that her dad was going out with the cute guy mom because she really like this guy. The ending of the book was when she finally accepted the relationship between her dad and this other woman. This was a good ending i think because she got friends with them. I think if this book had gone one more chapter it will be that summer in her other vacations went back to visit her dad.

Thought I wanted a quick, mindless read and it was only $1.

Read 3 chapters and decided I didn't want quite that mindless. I am keeping it on hand, just in case, because it is fun to read about the characters I know so well. :) TBC.

Poorly written, and the narrative was all over the place. I actually didn't mind Marissa's story here. Maybe because I didn't have to see Mischa Barton pouting and whining at every second.

Hab es für den 24 Stunden Lesemarathon gelesen. Es war okay aber auch nicht super toll. Bei 144 Seiten kann man allerdings auch nicht viel erwarten...
