What a trip this book has been! I never would have thought that sneaking into a Tire shop waiting room to write would generate so much buzz! But it was that engagement and that excitement that inspired me to actually write this story. And considering I wrote it all in 13 days and released it 3 weeks later, I think it's safe to say, it was meant to be! I've had a blast talking to the media about my unusual writing experience. It just goes to show that sometimes it's fun to celebrate the little things in life...like a cool new writing space...and complimentary coffee. ;)
Thanks to everyone for loving Miles and Kate just as much as I do!!!

* * * * * The Book That Started It All-Spoiler Free
Oh, how do I start this review... There is just so much to relate to...The premise is an author who is blocked and ends up finding her writing groove in the Customer Care Center at the local Tire Depot. It becomes a vital necessity for her to be there every day to use their comfy chairs and drink their gourmet coffee while she works on the final book of her series.

Side Note: I have experienced a type of block... It seems I need to be writing Directly into the GoodReads review template in order to get my mojo working... I know, silly... But for me, there is something that connects and makes the words flow...I have gotten better but still am most comfortable writing on this site...

Now to take a moment and show you how this book will rock your world, the author is an Erotic Romance author... Yes, she self-proclaims she writes Smut...all kinds of kinky, sexy smut. So from the beginning to the very end, all of the dialogue is real, hysterical, naughty, dirty, and the best...There will be moments where you will laugh so friggin' hard, best pray you have no need for the powder room because you may not make it in time.

Kate Smith is our author and with a name like that, she has always felt less than... a little boring. She tripped into becoming a romance writer and was so sure it was a fluke, she gave herself the name Mercedes Lee Loveletter. Yup, a real mouthful...and wouldn't you know it, the book that was a joke, became a bestseller and an author was born.

Kate recently dumped her ex and is trying to get her life and writing in order. Unfortunately, she is also fighting with him about the condo's lease. She found it, her best friend lives next door in the complex, so she is not giving up and moving out. This causes a sort of "War of the Roses" situation with her now living in the downstairs bedroom. The ex-swine can have the master and with him away at the Hampton's for the summer, it is like he isn't there anyway...

But his bad vibe is causing Kate to be unable to write one little word in her own home. It was only when she got her car fixed, did the overwhelming rush of ideas and words hit her...

So Tire Depot's Customer Care Center it was...

Miles Hudson has his own stuff he is dealing with... He just quit smoking and is using red licorice as a substitute cigarette. He knows it is dumb but somehow pretending it is one seems to help a bit. He is standing outside taking a break when Kate is doing her sneaky stealth thing... She thinks putting her head down and walking as if she belongs on the premises will get her into the employee entrance without anyone noticing...Only this time she had her head down so far, she walked straight into Miles...

And Bammmm!

Kate looks up and sees the epitome of what every Book Boyfriend is... a Huge, Built Man with muscles on muscles, a sculpted jaw, piercing eyes, and close-cropped dark hair...She couldn't have dreamed up a better specimen...Hell, he had on a tank showing his arms streaked with grease and sweat coming out of a half-done-up coverall. If it had been a movie... steam would have been pouring off of him...

Miles and Kate get themselves together... with Miles asking if Kate is ok...She says yes and slips into the employees' door. Miles is curious and goes to the center another time to see this woman who keeps showing up there. They have some banter exchanges and when it comes to telling who she is... Kate is embarrassed about how she kept bringing other people's cars to be fixed so she could write there. She ends up telling him her name is Mercedes. This way he won't be able to look her up in the client records.

What happens from this point is a reader's bliss... This woman is a delight in her realness. Miles is recovering from a horrific past relationship... the kind you wish you could punish the woman who ruined the man she tortured. She caused so much painful drama over the years, Miles is in no shape to risk himself again for any woman.

So when both Kate and Miles start to have sparks fly... Miles sends mixed messages and Kate doesn't know what is happening...They finally do decide on a Casual Thing.

Friendly... Friends with Benefits...

OMFG... I Cannot...I just suggest you have all of your Laundry Done...Amy Daws writes Miles and Kate getting together in a way that will knock you out...Just sayin'

But with all the smokin' hot chemistry... do not ignore the sweet and real, too. All of it was done so well.

There are hiccups with these two, what would a story be with angst...I found it to be extremely entertaining and an extremely satisfying read. Many laughs, lots of Swoon, and a couple to root for.

5 Best Book Boyfriend Stars ⭐

Can you orgasm from happiness? I kinda think so.

Kate Smith loves her job. But being a smut writer means working where inspiration hits. This is why she finds herself sneaking into the waiting area of Tyre Depot over the last few weeks to write. All the free coffee and smell of tyres get the creative juices flowing

Believing she's flying under the radar, she isn't prepared when she stumbles into Miles Hudson who actually works there. And he calls bullshit when she tries to convince him she's just a customer.

Miles, is not on the market for a relationship, let alone the redhead who continues to daily frequent his workplace. But he can't deny his curiosity. And when he figures it out, well he may just be in lust.

One time, I had to bite my fist to stop myself from laughing out loud when she dreamily closed her eyes, licked her lips seductively, and air-kissed the room. She totally writes dirty books.

Kate and Miles were so freaking good together. Their entire relationship unfolded over the most humorous interactions. There was this delicious slow build as they figured each other out. As they become friends to book research buddies, ahem, things are looking up.

“My writing makes me horny.”
I nearly choke on my beer. “I’m sorry, what?”
“My writing makes me horny.” She pulls back and nods her confirmation. “I’m serious. I have a sex toy that works really well and really fast, but I miss the heat of a man, ya know?”

From real life book boyfriends, sex for research purposes, lies by omissions and love in the unlikeliest of places, Wait With Me was fun and steamy! My only criticism was the fine line our hero walked. As an alpha, possessive lover, he was borderline anger management material. Fortunately he sorted his shit out in the end.

Why do so many romance books have to have the exact same God awful plot twist, where one of the main characters lies to the boyfriend/girlfriend about something, they want to tell them but always get interrupted, only to have it revealed by someone else in a super dramatic way??

First of all, I thought that the whole thing with Kate lying about her name was just ridiculous! The fact that it was dragged out throughout the entire book, with her feeling guilty about lying to Miles - it just annoyed me so. damn. much. She wanted to tell him on several occasions, then when she's finally about to say it, he kisses her and BAM! she thinks "oh well, I better keep lying! Can't miss a make out session". WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

I might be overreacting a little, but I just thought it was such a terrible cliche to have this ridiculous lie revealed by her ex in such a blah way. It was all so... disappointing... Couldn't the author be more original, let Kate tell her stupid secret herself and then find some other stupid twist? I swear I have read this exact same thing in a bunch of books by now, and it's only annoying and just simply lazy writing....

Would not recommend this book, sorry Amy Daws...

Wait With Me is another cute and sexy read by Amy Daws. I really loved the unique meet cute in this one and there was a lot about it I enjoyed. The thing I loved most was listening to it. The audio book is narrated by Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton. They are two of my favorite narrators and do an incredible job!

Kate Smith is a romance novelist who has found inspiration writing at a tire store. If she's not there, the words don't come. She's not sure what it is about the place, but their convenience center has become her new office and she's okay with it. Miles works at said tire store and notices Kate right away. They connect and Kate finds herself introducing herself as her pen name, Mercedes.

Miles and 'Mercedes' relationship is just fun at first, but then real feelings come to play. With those real feelings comes complications, due to the fact that Kate hasn't been fully honest with Miles about quite a few things...

I really liked both Kate and Miles and their romance was fun, cute, and steamy. I do, however feel that the ending was tied up much too quickly for me. I'll definitely be checking out the others in this series and enjoyed this one. If you pick it up, I can't recommend listening to the audio enough! It was such a great listening experience!

Ah breaks my heart but I just lost interest, it got boring *yawns*. The story was going good but I knew what was going to happen...yk the fake name thingy and then in the end thing were going to happen ugh yeah couldn't deal with that rn. There was banter and tension, but it...idk it didn't deliver

‘For now, I’m incognito, and Mercedes Lee Loveletter is writing a book that’s going to blow her horny readers away. Wait…I punned. Oh man, that’s good. I’m writing that down.’

Now, this is a story with spirit. Romance readers assemble! This is your hot spot that needs visiting during daytime hours or night time hours at least once because this story is a must read.

‘How much more book worthy can it get than that?’
“You write this shit, now you need to live it.”

Kate Smith, best-selling writer extraordinaire and all-around beguiling and charismatic lady of charm and simple pleasures, smut is her style and smut is her penned passion. Unfortunately for Kate though, her enthusiastic writer’s brain has taken a hit with a strong dose of gusto. A furious case of writer’s block casts a literary drought on her writing abilities, only nourished and hydrated by the comforts of complimentary treats at the CCC, otherwise known as the Customer Comfort Centre of her nearest Tire Shop…

'But love is a wild creature. You can’t contain it or control it. You can’t break it and tell it no. It’s a charging animal that you must accept as your destiny. That is how I feel about the Tire Depot CCC: true, unadulterated love.’

“You smell like coffee and rubber.”
“Also known as freedom.” I sigh wistfully and yearn to be back there.’

…a place where her block miraculously disappears, a phenomenon of writing zen where words just flow like a free-flowing river, the perfect spot where inspiration ripples, drizzles and glides through her fingertips. And what do they say about desperation? It indeed calls for desperate measures…and perhaps some baked goods from what has to be a fabled lounge that calls to her pen-name.

“But our productivity is closely linked to our state of mind. If you find the vibe somewhere, you gotta fight for it. A cool vibe is like a modern-day muse. Tire Depot is to me what Fanny Brawne was to John Keats! That’s poetry in motion that you cannot walk away from! They’ll probably write about this in history after I croak.”

The pressure is on to deliver to her readers, now the time for Mercedes Lee Loveletter to whip out the ninja-like stealth from her reserves of desperation and indulge in some small time trespass for operation ‘Kate needs her mojo back’. Yes, sounds very dramatic but also less than reassuring because she’s not as good at it as she thinks. Miles Hudson, bookworthy boyfriend of this rom com and employee at Tire Depot notices an conspicuous redhead sneaking her way through the depot but doesn’t have the heart to stop this lady on a mission in her tracks. After a bribe of the edible kind though, Miles agrees to keep her oh so sordid secret.

This book has received acclaim for the right reasons, something I discovered once I ate my spoils and polished off the last page. Rom com is a very appropriate way to describe this story; so quirky and laugh-out-loud, and so very swoon-worthy…*cough* because that’s all down to book boyfriend Miles Hudson. I don’t think you know swoon-worthy until you’ve met the male hero of this book.

“I’m as real as they come, and I’ll put all your fictional studs to shame, you got that?”
“Maybe it’s Mile Hudson magic.”

'Wait With Me' by Amy Daws is, without hesitation, my kind of book and one of the best romance reads I’ve had the pleasure of letting take over my life for a few days. I loved the parallels of fiction and reality through a writer’s eyes, along with the comparisons of the paradoxical life of Kate’s ‘real life’ love story to the fictional romance references mentioned throughout. With reading and romance references that every lover of the contemporary romance genre can call their own, it makes this read a little bit special. There’s nothing quite as thrilling as having your reads imbued with a reader’s very passion and lifeblood.

This story is infused with charm, quirk, authenticity and breathes a quality that I can only describe as salt-of-the-earth. An outlandish and peculiar but unique start to a love story, made all the more interesting when you realise that this story is actually loosely based on the author’s experience of writing this story in her very own feverish goal of finishing this book. A bit of fact mixed in with a whole of of fiction gifts us a foundation of the believable and original. The interesting thing about this story’s concoction is that the circumstance of Kate’s desperate plight parallels the author’s experience of writing this book. Crazy and fascinating but you can’t make this stuff up. Fated beauty in fine doses.

“Book-worthy,” I correct with a grin.”

There are many compliments I can give this book. It's gorgeous. It's addictive. It's entertainment personified. It’s deftly written. It’s effectively edited. It’s absolutely enjoyable with characters that have genuine chemistry. There’s tension and drama and so many laugh-worthy moments that it was destined to be a page turner. A story with wit, finesse and tact, written with the dual purpose of giving so much more than it takes. It’s not a difficult feat for a story to steal some tears from me; that’s just the life of an emotional reader, but it is challenging for a book to make its way onto my favourites list, a chore this book suavely and smartly managed to do!

“This is the point in the story where I rip the couple apart and ruin everything they thought they knew about each other.”
“Ouch,” he states, pressing his fist to his heart in mock pain.
“Can’t they just be happy?”
“What’s dramatic about happy?” I ask with a laugh.
“My readers like the pain, the torture. They love when I rip stuff up and put it all back together.”

Amy Daws encourages you to follow the oh so glamorous life of a desperate writer drunk on the temptation of free caffeine, Miles Hudson fumes and a possible real life happy ending, not a fictional one! A friends with benefits romance that promises unexpected tire trophies, rainstorms that light up the passion, grand gestures that aren’t so grand, unwelcome drama, laughter that unburdens and a prefect fictional boyfriend who I’d bribe with pizza anytime. Down to earth, salt-of-the-earth tire shop rom com complete with perfect book boyfriends, a desperate case of writer’s block and the lure of complementary coffee.

“That sounds like the worst ending to a book I’ve ever heard.”
“This isn’t a book!” I shriek.’

A mechanic and smuuuut writer= hawt combination

This was an easy, light read. Now I can watch the movie on Passionflix when it comes out 👀.

Kate/Mercedes Love Letter (27) is having a hard time writing the book she needs to release. She just so happens to go to the local tire shop when, all of a sudden, she gets out of her writer’s block and gets closer and closer to finishing her book. Buuuut, she needs to KEEP working there in order to meet her deadline, and, being the great person that she is, she keeps taking people’s cars in to get serviced 🤣 until one day she barges into a hawt, sweaty mechanic that fits the description of a book boyfriend 👀.

Miles (30) has been single for a little while now. He spent a decade with his on-again off-again ex who left him for an older rich man after she got pregnant during one of their breaks, which means he has trust issues. In the meanwhile, he enjoys his single life and has been trying to make up for all that lost time with the b of his ex who constantly tried making him jealous.

He keeps noticing that the redhead is constantly at the shop. After a pizza debacle, a fainting spell, and pizza for dinner, he finds out why she’s REALLY there. And he’s ALL for it 👀. In fact, he doesn’t mind if she uses him for “research” purposes 😉.

What I liked/loved: potential spoilers
—the tire scene. I mean 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m a woman. I can appreciate the male form 💁🏻‍♀️. Plus, with the Passionflex teasers, how could I NOT love that scene 👀. Muscles? Check. Wet shirt? Check. Sweaty man? Check check check 🥵

—the 🔥. I’m soooo glad this isn’t a slow burn 😉 (more like medium burn) because it was hawt 💁🏻‍♀️. And, the first time they finally have sex is because he’s jealous 😈. I love me a jealous guy 😉

—the dirty talk 🥵. Miles has a dirty mouth, but Mercedes does too (obviously, I like his more 💦)

—how JP Miles is. Miles is worse than a toddler getting possessive over his property 👀. He has to mark his territory 🥵 and he looooves to do it too 😉. If Kate/Mercedes was a fire hydrant, she would’ve been peed on a looong time ago 💁🏻‍♀️

—the 🤣 moments. From the pizzas at the tire shop, to the fake bill, to the burnt rubber candle to the new word I learned (emongry) I was giggling and smiling (and 🤦🏻‍♀️🫣 my face too)

—how supportive Miles and his family are of Kate’s profession ❤️

—the OMD 😈. I luuuurve it in my books. Miles saw red left and right 😅. I didn’t mind it- it means more marking of his territory 😉. Plus, breaking someone’s nose (a douche bag) just makes sense 🤷🏻‍♀️. I don’t make the rules 💅

—the sweet moments ❤️

—the grovel. This time, it’s not the hero that needs to grovel 😅. Grand gesture for sure 🥹. Kate messed up

What I didn’t like/wanted more of:
—less FTB 😑. This should be a crime!!!! 😭 I mean, I get it 🙄 but come on!!!! 😐don’t be doing us dirty like this 🤷🏻‍♀️especially when they’re important scenes (let’s be honest. I think they’re all important 🤣)

—Kate should’ve come clean sooner 🤦🏻‍♀️. I can’t blame Miles 😬

—more on the family history; it would’ve added to the grand gesture

—info on how her ex is doing 😑 he was such a douche 😐 a broken nose should’ve been the least of his worries

—an epilogue further into the future. 3 months is just not enough time 😭

Overall, I really enjoyed this ❤️

I have such a huge smile on my face right now! This book has everything I needed! Amy Daws, I love you woman! I can’t stop talking about you these days because of Wait With Me but also because through all I see on social medias, I wish we could be friends. You are funny and I loved following you through all your shenanigans to get close to Tires Tires Tires. I’m stalking you ever seen you started your journey and I can’t get enough! All the crazy happening around it is so phenomenal and I wish it would never stop!

If you didn’t know already, Wait with Me is based on a real life experience the author had at TTT. The love story part is not because Amy is happily married with a lovely daughter. So after following all her story with TTT, I was waiting for the day she would announce a book was in the way about a sexy mechanic. What I wasn’t expecting was the heroine to be a writer. And that was really the cherry on the cake.

Meet Miles Hudson; sinfully hot, dirty talker, protective, caring, cute and badly hurt by love
Meet Kate Smith; thinking she is a boring writer while she has such a joyful and upbeat personality.
As soon as these two meets, the pull and magnetism around them is there. Their chemistry and funny banter were unstoppable. I laughed, I swooned and as a reader I could relate so much!!

“The cliché line you should say right now is, ‘Don’t worry baby, it’ll fit.’”
“But what if I like it to hurt a little?”

The fact Wait with Me is a book about a writer was entertaining because there were so many reference we know as a reader it was funny and even if all of this is fiction this felt so real!
The side-characters were also a huge plus to this book. I think Amy you found the next series to write about because Dean, Lynsey and even Miles’ sister need their own story! Keep going at TTT and bring us lots of fantastic stories like this one.

Wait With Me is a different course of rom com by Miss Daws. Its more lighter ans easier to digest. Not like her other books which usually a really long rom com.

I am curious and quite taken back by Miss Daws. So far my reviews for her books had been mixed. In Wait With Me, I do like it OK. The story/ plot is mediocre. Min angst/ drama.

The heroine, Kate is sassy, smart mouth and yet annoying in some parts. Her reason to keep her secrets seems childish on my opinion. But hey, again this book is meant to be light and quick read.

I read an article on Facebook awhile back where this author took her car in for service and found that she was inspired while writing in their customer service waiting room. Not wanting to waste this new inspiration, she borrowed cars from family and friends that needed servicing so that she could keep writing in their waiting room. Essentially, that's what Wait With Me is about. I love that she took a real life situation and turned into on of her books.

I enjoyed this unique storyline and I do find myself a fan of Amy Daws writing. She has a great sense of humor and her characters are very likable. If I had to give a downside to this book, its purely a personal thing. The heroine does all the chasing in this book. I'm just one of those readers that prefer the man to chase the woman. Despite the heroine doing all the work, I enjoyed the story.

I listened to the audiobook and LOVED the narrators. Erin Mallon is a fav of mine and this was my first Teddy Hamilton experience. I was not disappointed. I highly recommend the Audiobook!

DNF because WTAF?!!

I was in chapter 3 when the rampant fatphobia began.

Kate is the main character and her best friend says to her, "Honestly, you’re kind of disgusting. I don’t know how you’re not two hundred pounds by now.”

In response Kate replies, "I do look like a pig when you list it all out like that."

And later in the book, "I just stuffed my face with a breadstick like some sort of pubescent child on the run from Fat Camp"

Wow. I was absolutely NOT expecting this fat-phobia in my current read. Especially since this author is not a size 2. Like, what was she thinking?! This is just really offensive.

Dear authors, some of us weigh more than 200lbs and that doesn't make us "disgusting".

“Maybe it’s Miles Hudson magic.”

I thought it was intriguing that the author actually got her idea for this book by being in a car repair shop. Where are these hot mechanics? No where that I've seen that's for sure but we can always fantasize right?

Well, let me tell you that Miles is definitely fantasizable! He's tall, he's built, he's very good with his hands and he rides a motorcycle. What else is there to love? Oh, and he's a reader..and I'm not kidding!

That was one of the things I enjoyed about this book was all the little idiosyncrasies that most readers will pick up. And with the heroine being a writer, it felt like I was getting the inside scoop.

Kate and Miles hit it off right away and slowly, Kate lets him in on the reason she's hanging out in the customer service area. She had lost her writing mojo and found it there. Now she's hanging on for dear life and writing like a demon.



These two are drawn to each other but there are some fine lines they have to maneuver. Miles is just out of a manipulative ten year relationship and Kate is still living in the same apartment with her ex. It doesn't make matters any better that she gave Miles her pen name of Mercedes instead of the boring name she thinks Kate is.

But being Mercedes with Miles brings out a more fun and adventurous side to Kate. She convinces him to be her test subject for her book...in all matters and he's totally on board.

Then those emotions get in the way. Miles finds himself wanting to be with her all the time and she's the same way. There are a lot of sexy times and then apart times as these two try to deal with their feelings.

There were definitely some missed opportunities for some good angst but I actually didn't miss it. The humor made reading the book very enjoyable and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next.

I loved the "grand gesture" and how everything went down but what Miles did surprised me even though I shouldn't have been. And the ending was exactly what I expected.

I was so happy to find this on my kindle on Monday. I didn't realize that I was approved for an ARC.
I checked my email & found a message from author Amy Daws. She released this early due to publicity surrounding her writing "vibe". The location where she does a lot of her writing? "Tires Tires Tires" shop. She had "visited their tire and mechanic shop, staying to sample their coffee and cookies. Word got out.... cuz... social medial... the press. Amy was busted! Or not. Turns out Tires Tires Tires general manager was more than OK with Amy using their customer waiting area for her book writing. Publicity? Oh yeah? Win win. + Win- for us readers & ME in particular. I stopped what I was reading & started reading WWM. I've been struggling with my reading focus. It's been me, I think. I'm so glad that this RomCom came along. I think that I've got my reading vibe back! I guess that I had to go to a tire store too. This was enjoyable.This is quite the page turner.

Wait With Me is a book about an author writing a book. The heroine, Kate Smith aka Mercedes Lee Loveletter had been hanging out at the "Tire Depot". Mercedes is Kate's author pen name.
Kate's an unapologetic Erotic Romance author. She's been able to write her "words" while in the Customer waiting room-which serves up complimentary coffee & fresh baked cookies.. Kate/Mercedes has found her VIBE. She sneaks in the side/back entrance of the tire store and writes up a storm. She tries to fly under the radar. She has a "meet cute" with Miles, a tall, hunky mechanic that works at "Tire Depot". They have great chemistry at their first meeting. Both of them are recovering from a break up/terrible relationships.

Miles is leery of getting romantically. He does only "casual". Miles' ex was a major game player during their long relationship. I have to say that hit home with me. I hate it when a woman manipulates a man. There are 2 types: One intentional & one that has no idea (clueless) that she's a manipulator. I've known men that have been involved with both.
Kate/Mercedes isn't exactly forth-coming. While the steam was building between these two, Kate/Mercedes got further away from being completely honest with Miles.
I was holding my breath, waiting for the shit to hit the fan. I wasn't looking forward to this at all. Come on, Kate, before too much more time.

Meanwhile- Mercedes and Miles are hot together. This is actually a very romantic book There's plenty of sex, but they also build on their relationship Trying to keep it "casual"- natch! Kate hasn't received much appreciation for her writing from her family and her ex (grr, major jerk). Miles only knows her as Mercedes and he's just fine with her author persona.

The supporting characters are great- Kate's bff- Lynsey; Dean- Kate & Lynsey's friend; Miles' coworker, Sam.
I kept on waiting for the other shoe to drop. Wow, the tension. I was mad at Kate for not being more open.
I have to say I really like how Kate's identity was revealed-it's just her first name, right? Uh, not quite. The big reveal is... tense. Drama. Oh Kate, what did you do? How can you fix this?
What would Miles think? Yikes. As a reader I wanted to shake Kate- gah.
Miles, lovable, hunky, wonderful Miles. Kate, open up, be honest.

The last chapter is the epilogue. This is labeled a standalone, but what about SAM, LYNSEY?
I need to read more of this author's books. I love her sense of humor. The romance is hot. I highly recommend this very cute and fun story.

He smiles again, and I get those butterflies in my stomach that I painstakingly try to describe in different ways with every book I write. Stomach flips. Stomach somersaults. Fireworks in my belly. Wait, that last one is terrible, it sounds like diarrhea.

What kinds of fish live in this lake? Not sharks, of course, I’m not that stupid. But what if I’m going to reel in some disgusting swamp creature that’s like a beaver and a bass that fucked during a full moon and created some kind of terrifying swamp thing that eats people like piranha. Oh my God, are there piranha in Colorado? I should have googled!

Sam’s eyes fly wide at my appearance. I haven’t looked in a mirror lately, but I’m betting I look a bit like Ronald McDonald after a bender.

My Review:

I smirked, barked aloud, and giggle-snorted my way through this crisply written, delightfully irreverent, and salaciously steamy romantic comedy. I adore Amy Daws and greatly enjoy her unleashed and sassy humor. Written from my favorite dual POV, I quickly fell in love with her endearingly flawed main characters, who were smart and quick-witted dirty talkers whose their inner musings were riotously funny and highly provocative.

I loved reading Wait with Me when it was released on kindle, so of course I was thrilled to get an audio copy to have a listen to the story this time around instead. Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton have done a wonderful job bringing to life Miles and Kate.

I enjoyed experiencing this story again, and these two narrators were perfect for this story. They really portrayed the characters and emotions so well. As with reading the book, there were parts of this story where Amy herself really shone through, and I had a good old giggle at different particular moments, because hearing them brought to life, compared to in my head, was great.

I’m not a huge audio listener, but it was fun listening to this on my drives to and from work.

There’s really not too much to say about this, apart from the story is fabulous and so are the narrators. Highly recommend.

Many of you, like me, have followed Amy’s hilarious antics at Tires Tires Tires, since she began posting about them on her social media. And as is typical Amy style, they were hilarious, and a story you couldn’t stay away from.

I was so excited when she said she was going to write this book, loosely based on her escapades to TTT.

Wait with Me was awesome. Having followed Amy’s story, I immediately noticed the similarities and true parts that were included in the story, but for the most part, the storyline is fictional.

Can I just say, that Miles is an ultimate book boyfriend. And the cover model? Perfect as Miles!

I loved reading Kate and Miles story, and reading their hilarious banter. This book was so truly Amy, that you’d be hard pressed not love it, if you’re a fan of hers. And even if you haven’t read her before? You’ll become a fan of hers. Because she writes with warmth, she writes with heart and she writes with personality.

The story of the romance writer and grease monkey had me hooked and I loved all the little things that happened. Each character had their own back story and depth that added to the way they reacted towards each other, and they both had friends who played well into the storyline as well.

For the most part this was a really fun and fluffy book to read. Of course there’s the ultimate part that always happens with a romance novel, where everything seemingly goes to hell, but I knew Amy would bring it back with style. And she did. This book ended perfectly and I truly loved getting to know these characters, because they were so real. I even think there’s room for spinoffs about some of the other secondary characters too.

For something written so quickly and inspired by a real life situation at good old Tires Tires Tires, all the way over in the US, it’s reached the hearts of readers like me, over here in little old Sydney, Australia.

Bravo Amy, Bravo.

My very first read by the amazing Amy Daws and she DID NOT disappoint! WAIT WITH ME is the unexpected love story between a romance novelist dealing with major writer’s block and a mechanic who wants absolute ZERO drama in his life. Something tells me that our heroine’s brand of drama is not what he was talking about. Kate and Miles are an ADORABLE couple. Their connection is instant, their chemistry is scorching hot, and the hilarious banter is everything you want it to be and MORE. I couldn’t have asked for a better first impression with this author!

The real life, hilarious story that inspired WAIT WITH ME is INCREDIBLE! If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard about it, just Google it. Trust me, it will bring such inspiration to your own life, I guarantee it. Hilarious, sexy, and entertaining as hell, WAIT WITH ME is a must read for every romance reader out there! Amy Daws definitely made my day a little bit brighter by bringing Kate and Miles’ story into the world.

Wait With Me is the first non-Harris brothers book of Amy Daws's that I've read and it's clear that she writes a blue collar romance just as magically as she writes a British sports romance. These characters and their friends with benefits romance was fun to read and fall into.

As much as I loved this story and Miles, I was actually cheering hard for Dean. Don't hate me! I think Miles is amazing and I love him and Kate together, but I want so badly for Dean to get a happy ending. Hopefully Amy will sprinkle some of her magical fairy dust and give us a Dean book soon! But not before we get Gareth Harris's duet!

Audio-book: Narrators – Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton

Oh my gawd!!! I absolutely LOVED this audio! Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton do a freaking amazing job of bringing Kate and Miles to life! Each successfully narrated both male and female voices during their narrations and they were spot on! No cringing here just smooth perfection as the narration flows from one point of view to the next, one character to the next. This is vocal acting, not just reading the lines and I loved every moment of it!


Kate has hit a bit of writer’s block after the breakup with her ex. Recently she discovered that the Tire Depot’s customer care center had delicious coffee, luscious baked goods, and the ability to break through her mental wall. She is now on a roll and her biggest hurdle is being sure she doesn’t get booted out of the CCC before she types “The End”.

Miles spent years off and on trying to make a relationship work and now that he’s finally able to completely turn his back on his ex he’s trying to make up for lost time. When the sexy redhead sneaks out the employees exit of the Tire Depot he’s intrigued. What follows was some of the cutest flirting and conversations I’ve ever read.

This couple made me happy! Despite Kate’s secret, despite that Miles was adamant he didn’t want anything permanent, despite the threat of Kate’s ex returning, this was so much fun! I grinned, I laughed, I snorted and I never stopped once I started. It was freaking amazing! I’m thinking that I’ve been missing out on this author’s work because this was my first but I’ll be dang if it’s going to be my last!

De verdad que no entiendo algunas veces las puntuaciones de GR. ¿Cómo puede tener esta novela más de 4 estrellas y otras mucho mejores estar muy por debajo? Vale que el punto de partida es gracioso, que tener a una escritora de novela erótica como protagonista tiene su punto y que el prota masculino no sea un millonetis guaperas sino un simple mecánico feliz con su curro, también. Pero la historia de amor es muy normalita, me ha costado entender algunas actitudes de los protagonistas (sobre todo de él) y el drama está metido con calzador.

This was my first book by Daws and to be honest, I was disappointed. I just wanted a little more depth in the characters. I felt that their behaviors and personalities were superficial and bland. Especially Miles phobia of having drama in his life. Cue eye roll. It just wasn't for me.

I'm obviously the only one who feels this way but this book fell a little short for me. Maybe I went in with too many expectations, who knows. Basically, I wanted to love it but I didn't.



Kate Smith is a writer who finds out that a certain tire shop is where her writing magic happens, you know, she finds her mojo. So she finds any every excuse to hang out there, up to and including sneaking in. And eating all of their pastries. That's when she sees/meets Miles. He works there and sparks fly. Miles has trust issues, commitment issues, and jealousy issues, and Kate seems to have telling-the-truth issues. Obviously, that creates a bit of conflict. They work through it, and we have our HEA.

I had several issues with this book, the first being the main characters. Kate, while very relatable, was not the sharpest tool in the shed. The things she decided to lie about were so ridiculous. You know, like her name. It made zero sense to me. Her name wasn't something absurd or something to be ashamed of, it was Kate. So she lies and tells him her name is Mercedes, her nom de plume. Which honestly, isn't even that great of a name. She could have at least been a little more creative.



But she lies and it blows up in her face. Naturally.

Then she lies again about her living situation, which is going to come out one way or another. Even knowing Miles is a violently jealous guy. Not violent against her of course, but he's willing to beat the shit out of other guys. Again, not the sharpest tool in the shed.



Then we have Miles. If I'm being honest, I was a little disappointed. He was supposed to be a real life version of a book bf but it didn't work. We all know that fictional heroes can get away with way more shit than a real-life bf/husband (or whatever significant other). The biggest example being jealousy. Miles' chest thumping possessiveness was a huge turn off for me. Especially considering most of it occurred before they were really committed to one another. It was supposed to be hot. It wasn't.

There was also the fact that what was supposed to be the most attractive part of Miles was something that really shouldn't have been an issue to begin with. He wasn't embarrassed that she wrote smutty romance for a living. I realize that there might be men who would look down on a woman who chose this as her profession but I refuse to believe that it would be rare to find a man who would be okay with it. But whatever. Miles did have a few good things going for him, most notably, the hot mechanic thing. Yum. There is something incredibly attractive about a man who works with his hands and is passionate about what he does. Also, I always love reading contemporary romances with a hero who isn't a secret billionaire. He worked for a living and took pride in what he did. It's surprisingly rare and I love it.

My other issue with this book was that it just wasn't that romantic. Not that I need a million grand gestures, but for a book about a real-life version of a book boyfriend, Miles fell a little short in the romance department. Sexy? Yes. Sigh inducing? Not really. In fact, I was decidedly sans butterflies. Not even tiny moths. Wow, can't unsee that mental image. Blegh. But you know what I mean.

Despite all of my above griping I really didn't dislike this book. It was fun. It had laugh out loud moments, Miles and Kate had cute banter, and the writing itself was decent. It just wasn't my thing. Do I recommend it? For lovers of contemporary romance, yes. Otherwise, not so much.

Dnf when I got to the "3 months later" part at the end. I just didn't care. He was awful and possessive, didn't really have a personality apart from "I like cars and I'm hot and my ex was a bitch and you're my property now" (like for real, he calls her his property) and she was annoying beyond belief. I got sick of them being judgemental and bashing other girls. Just a terrible read honestly.

I wanted to love this, but it felt short from what I had expected and wanted. I originally placed this under 3.25 stars then 3 stars but as I write this I decided it was more of 2.5 stars to me.

I think the main issue was the amount of time Miles brought up his ex-girlfriend throughout the entire book. It was Joce this, Joce that. I get that what she did to him left him reeling and dealing with trauma, but it got to the point where I think he was too obsessed with his ex and how she did things, how acted. He always compared his ex to Kate. ''Oh, Joce never liked me bike, she never liked camping etc.''. It seemed overkill and I got tired of it really quickly.

The only silver lining was the fact his ex-gf NEVER makes an actual appearance, but she lived rent free in his head.

Miles also seemed like a horndog after his ex, he admitted he had slept with 12 girls after the breakup a year ago, ALSO went out after meeting the FMC and basically wanting her and tried to hook up with another girl at a bar (but we find out in the next chapter the girl had a bf or else he would have slept with her). He kept talking about wanting to live like he should have when he was in his twenties, and it felt like he was not at all ready for an emotional connection with Kate.

Another thing that bothered me was how Kate took WAY too long to reveal her real name to Miles and just let him believe for weeks that her name was Mercedes, now I know it's her author’s first name, but it was just stupid after a while. It felt like it was being set up from the beginning for it to be a reason for them to break up.

I just had a massive issue with him for most of the book, he was hot and cold and only wanted her because of his jealousy and possessive nature.

Of course, it later on turned into an actual emotional connection and they fell in love, but he was just not my favorite and kind of ruined what could have been a fun easy book.

I will continue the series as the next books seem to be better than this one.

This was a good rom-com read. I mean, writing erotica in a tire shop while taking advantage of their complimentary refreshments is totally millennial vibe.

"And what does boring ole, practically pushing thirty years old Kate do? She writes porn. In a tire shop. In Boulder, Colorado."

It's there that Kate meets super hot "book boyfriend" Miles. They have a friends to lovers thing going on for them. Miles has some baggage holding him back and Kate needs to get her confidence up.

The scene where they are camping and go fishing literally had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. All around a cute, fun read.

A couple weeks ago I read a buzzfeed article about this author and when I found out she wrote a book inspired by the story in that article, I knew I had to read it!

First, let me just say that the article talked about how Amy used the customer wait area at a tire shop to do her writing. She even went as far as to bring other peoples vehicles in for service just so she could take advantage of the seating area. I loved everything about that article! It was funny and so human and feel good! The employees of the shop were so awesome about it too!

So again, I knew I had to read this!

I might have enjoyed the buzzfeed article a smigen more then this story. Let me explain why:

I liked the characters. I really did. For the most part. There were a few things I disagreed with by both H/h and I know in the end it's so we have that typical "lets tear them apart" moment before we get the big hoora HEA but, Miles, as book-worthy as he was, was just too clingy. Like there's alpha-possessive and then there's Miles. He was so possessive in a way it was creepy. Stick with me. They weren't even a couple and he was already telling her how jealous he'll get if Mercedes hung around other guys. So they're just friends and he honestly wants to stay that way UNTIL THE END but he warned her he'll be mega jealous if she either hangs around other guys or other guys take notice of her!



NO, that's not how it works, Miles.

Adding to the fire: I don't think he ever thought to himself while they were having sex: "I think I might be falling for her." I NEED my book-man to feel something like that BEFORE the end.

Which leads me to....

Was this supposed to be romantic? I guess it kind of had that vibe but in respect to my above comments, for the most part the book followed this formula: strangers-friends-friends with benefits-finally to boyfriend/girlfriend (and that was like at the very end) I was a tad disappointed, I won't lie. They did all the things I want my h/H to do when they are in a relationship but they weren't, technically, for like 95% of the book.

Also, if I had a shot of whiskey for every time Miles said he didn't want the "drama" from a relationship, I'd be fucking piss-ass drunk right now.



Like, embarrassingly drunk.

That all said; I really did enjoy the story! I enjoyed the take the author took on a real life scenario. I liked the characters. I LOVED the smut. It was seriously some sexy, steamy smut.

Dialogue is SO important to me and this book had some really good comedic moments! Especially from Kate (Mercedes). She made me laugh and I loved her quirky-ness and how fly by the seat of her pants she could be when it came to her mouth.

Maybe a 3.5 in some aspects and a solid 4 in others! Won't be my last book by Amy :)

Oh. My. God. I loved Wait With Me when I read it and now I love it even more.

Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton did an amazing job by bringing to life Kate (AKA Mercedes) and Miles. I loved how they translated the sexy moments, as well as the funny and the drama around the lies and secrets of Kate's. I gotta admit, this time it wasn't as stressful as the first time I read it because I knew what was going to be the outcome of their story, but I felt the little angst around all "Mercedes" lies and secrets.

There were two parts that I loved so much in the audiobook:

- The party when Miles arrived because it sounded hotter in the audiobook, even more than when I read it.

- When Mercedes tries to be all "Hey Bro" on Miles LOL So funny!!

All in all, this audiobook is a great companion for the book, with a funny, romantic and sexy story of an author who got to have her own real-life book boyfriend.

The dream of any bookworm LOL

That would make all of our lives easier, right?

Wait With Me features the story of Kate, also known as Mercedes Lee Loveletter, a famous author of the erotica genre, who’s found a new perfect place to write: Tire Depot's Customer Care Center. After a few weeks of sneaking in to write all day, drink all the coffee and eat all the cookies, Miles, one of the mechanics of Tire Depot, starts noticing the beautiful redhead until one day they meet. And here is when Kate, or Mercedes as she introduces herself to Miles, meets her real book boyfriend.

And suddenly, the hero for her next novel has a face, a body— and what a body —and a profession…

“He was stacking a bunch of tires. So many tires. They must have just gotten a shipment in or something because he was sweating profusely. At one point, he stopped what he was doing, unzipped his charcoal coveralls and pulled them off his shoulders to cool down. He was wearing another one of those hot, tight athletic tanks. Nike brand. Black. But I could tell it was soaked through with sweat. His arms were glistening in the light as he wiped his brow on his grease-covered forearm. He grabbed a bottle of water, took several long drinks, his thick neck contracting with each swallow, and proceeded to pour the remaining contents down his face.”

Oh. My. God. This. Scene. Had. Me. Panting. Like. A. Mad. Woman. In. Heat.



WOW!! Just wow!! There’s nothing sexier than a very masculine man and Miles was the definition of masculinity. And later when he and Mercedes succumb to their attraction, he’s all alpha male with her and for a moment I thought he was acting the book boyfriend role, but NOOOOO that’s who he was and GODDDDD I was IN LOVE!!!

But the truth is that this book has it all. It’s Rom-Com *YAY*, it has the sexiest sex scenes, the best secondary characters, a very original plot and the perfect amount of drama. But for me, this drama was stressful because of the lies and the secrets, and when lies and secrets are involved, I keep wondering what will happen when the truth comes out and how everything will be solved and that stresses me like crazy. And Mercedes keeps telling lies to Miles and Miles had an awful relationship of 10 years with a woman who manipulated him and LIED to him for years and years… See where I’m going? I WAS STRESSED… But The humor and the sexy times in this book made it all easier.

Anyway... All I have left to say is to grab yourself a copy of Wait With Me, fall in love with everything about this book and thank me later for having a new book boyfriend in your collection.

If like me, you have been totally captivated by Amy Daws and her Tires Tires Tires escapades then you will be like I was…itching to read this book. I have followed her social media for weeks, itching to see what happens next and what fantastic inspiration to write a book, you couldn’t make it up. Social media, news stations and newspapers have all picked up on this feel good story and I have to say, the book will have the same effect. I have smiled from ear to ear throughout this book, swooned hard and loved even harder, this was one of those books I didn’t want to end.

Kate Smith is an author who writes smut, a little kink and a whole heap of erotica under the laughable pen name of Mercedes Lee Loveletter, but she is currently suffering from what every author dreads…writers block. While taking her car in for a service, she settles into the Customer Care Centre at her Tire Depot and the words flow, so much so, she doesn’t leave when her car is fixed, she takes all her friends cars in as an excuse to stay there another day and when all her car options are exhausted, she takes to sneaking in the employee entrance and staying there anyway.

Mercedes personal life is not what romance books are made of and having not long split from her boyfriend of two years it seems her old personal life is still wreaking havoc with her writing. Kate has some close friends that are incredibly supportive, just a shame her ex wasn’t the same. At the Tire Depot though there is one mechanic that catches her eye and tickle her ovaries every time their eyes meet, but she’s incognito…at least she thinks she is.

Miles Hudson works at the Tire Depot, he has his own heap of baggage being a year out of a ten-year toxic relationship. Miles doesn’t want another girlfriend, he just wants to play the field a while until he feels his heart is ready to trust another, but he didn’t bet on a smoking hot red head, smut writing author…but it’s all in the name of research…right?

“I turn my back and walk down the stairs away from the girl I thought I fucking knew but was, in fact, writing fiction the whole damn time.”

Miles was the epitome of one of Kate’s book boyfriends, he ticked all her boxes and she couldn’t help her eyes whenever he was in her vicinity and it seemed it wasn’t all one-sided. The chemistry between these two was sizzling and they were such adorable characters you just wanted them to work. Neither looking, but both falling. The dialogue was on point, the comedic element had me laughing and smiling and this just had that “whole feel good read” vibe about it.

“We were the motherfucking storm. We were thunder and lightning, and we created the most beautiful swirl of passion I’ve ever experienced with a man.”

We go from friends, to friends with benefits to more and the progression of their relationship was destined from the very beginning. Both these characters deserved their own happy ever after and Amy Daws wrote it in such a way it was like watching your best friends. I adored everything about this book, associating things with Tires Tires Tires only made me smile and although Amy didn’t have any romantic liaison in the Customer Care Centre, it was a pleasure to read about a couple that did. Fantastic inspiration resulting in a fantastic book.
