The cover is off this exposing a sepia coloured 'Boys comic spine, used to cover the binding - neat!

So, to the content: dusty and dry as saharan sand and just so out of date; as there are no human asides to lighten and moisten this stiff history, I can find no reason for anyone to venture into this given the fantastic up do date info on the net.

Namun membuka halaman awal, saya agak merasa kecewa, kualiats cetgaknya mirip buku bajakan.

Menuju halaman sekian, semua baru membaik.

Part of a larger series detailing the history of the nations the world over this is a very enlightening work, written before the discovery of King Tut in 1922. While it is readable and interesting but really shows the prejudices and deep rooted faith that was prevelant in the late 19th Century. A very insightful read, especially once you get past the particular prejudices of the era.

I feel like a lot of things were glossed over that should have been given more detail about - since the book is entitled "Ancient Egypt," after all. The graphics are absolutely stunning. And the information that was presented was interesting to learn about.

It surely was a good book when it was published. Nowadays it is outdated even for someone like me who knows Egypt history superficially. I thought it the language used was interesting, a dive in the 19th century prejudices. A story in the story.

it was ok, best avoided if your not in to either history or egypy. The author also assumes you have prior knowledge of the area as he mentions things but does not give any background to them.

Unfortunately the approach is very dated - and dominated by a rather unpleasant attitude that would not pass muster in contemporary writing. Not recommended.
