With heavy iron gates, two security stations, and a groundskeeper's cottage, The Cove has everything a billionaire could ask for in a home. Dubbed Billionaire Bachelor Cove because of the residents' single status and income portfolios, The Cove is the perfect place to hide away from the world. But, as the residents soon find out, they can't hide from love.
Labor and delivery nurse Willow Price is thrilled when her twin sister, Mila, gets a spot on the reality show Seattle’s Billionaire Bachelor. But when a case of pinkeye sidelines her on the day she’s set to meet the bachelor, Willow takes her place and is thrust into the spotlight like never before. Knowing the show is make believe relationship television, she has no intentions of offering her heart to the handsome bachelor. But a chance meeting and instant connection leaves her no longer calling the shots. Can she keep her secret identity and hang on until the last rose?
Handsome Sawyer Griffin commands an empire that stretches across the country, but he has yet to take control of his own love life. After a recent relationship fail, Sawyer finds himself cast as Seattle’s Bachelor. He’s in it to help the homeless of Seattle and doesn’t quite believe that love can be found on a reality TV show. But that’s before he meets a gorgeous, redheaded bachelorette who captures his attention from day one. When a plot twist wrenches her from his grasp, he’s faced with the choice of the women left behind or the one his heart can’t forget.
I don't get some of the other reviews here. There were a few more uncaught editing errors than average, but that's only relatively speaking - they were minor & didn't even come remotely close to making it unreadable. I have to wonder how some of the editing snobs handle reading real life stuff in our quasi-literate society.
The plot is hardly new, but if you look up romance tropes, you'll learn that's because they've all been done before. What matters is how well the author tells the story & I thought she did a very good job. It was a fairytale romance, but she made the characters & story engaging, and it was believable enough to sit back and just enjoy it.
At one point, the heroine emotionally withdraws a bit & I'm not sure I'm ready to agree that would be the character's psychology at that point, but it wasn't story jarring or anything either.
I really liked the way Sawyer handled the show's end, but I don't think Willow would have been able to keep herself willfully oblivious (plus Mila would surely have watched & insisted on informing her). And I would have liked to have more details about the other characters' fates, especially Bethie. So a fuller ending or epilogue would have been nice.
But overall, I give it a 4/5. Not perfect, but darned good & I enjoyed it. (The extra star is to balance out the review I disagree with) 😁
I just can't get enough of the Billionaire Bachelor Cove! Sawyer Griffin is a handsome and busy business man who reluctantly agrees to his sister's insistence that he be the bachelor on Seattle's Bachelor reality TV show. He knows it's all for charity and isn't looking to actually lose his heart to someone. Willow Price is an identical twin , nurse, and genuinely kind person. She agrees to sub for her sister on Seattle's Bachelor show at the last minute when her sister gets Pink Eye the morning she is set to leave for the show. Willow is just in it for fun, but finds Sawyer to be far more than just fun. As she finds herself falling hard for him, and she can't figure out how to expose her secret without getting sent home.
Christene Houston is a new author to me and I am a new fan. At first I did not want to read this book because I am not a fan of The Bachelor TV series on which this story concept was based. But I am reading the Bachelor Cove series and this was the next one. I really enjoyed it and loved the characters of Willow (pretending to be her twin sister, Mila) and Sawyer, the bachelor. I would rate this book a 4.5 instead of 5 because in several places the author used Willow's name instead of Mila's when it was clearly Mila's name that should have been used. Other than that, the book was great!
I loved the reality TV show angle with Willow filling in for her twin at the last minute. I loved the bond between the sisters, and how they would do anything for each other, even when it was way out of Willow's comfort zone. Besides the fact that The Bachelor always looks like a sleaze for kissing multiple women in a short span of time, I did like Sawyer. He listened to Willow, and that is an attractive quality.
For another great Bachelor-like read, try Royal Chase by Sariah Wilson!
Reading about a woman qualified as a Flight Attendant who happens to accidentally bump into a Billionaire. Then to have her appreciated for her abilities doing her job, leads into having that rich man offer her a good job in that capacity. His current employer wants to retire, so this fast moving Romance does make the reader wonder if this will end up a Happily Ever After ending?
I truly love the premise of this book, it’s different and certainly intriguing. I love Sawyer and his honesty and compassion. I also love Willow. I love that she’s witty and sassy and inherently honest. Their love grew quickly and steadily. It was perfect.
I have been enjoying this book, but there has been some major name confusion, especially in chapter 8. To have twin sisters and not be able to keep the names straight makes it hard to follow the story. Especially when other characters also use the wrong name. Please fix the mistakes and update the book.
Oh no, not another TV show story!!! But wait, it was a good one. Sure, you still had one that was a self absorbed catty one, but the rest were good. The story handled the whole thing in a very altruistic way. It was clean, it was tense, it was warm, it was a good read.
The way the protag ended up in a TV show similar to The Bachelor was handled neatly, things played out predictably, but the wrapup felt way too easy. I know I'm suspending reality when I'm reading books like this, but this one wasn't one of my faves.
*Sigh* I LOVED this one. Sawyer and Willow are so cute together! Even though things didn’t all play out as planned it was perfect and I loved it! All of the books in the bachelor Cove series have been soooooo good! This is one of my favorites of the series for sure! Can’t wait to read more of them!
Wow this book had it all. Having never watched the bachelorette this book took on a different angle giving an insight to what would happen and feelings of the people on the other side. Totally enjoyed this book
Hmm. The ending was kinda cheesy and rushed. And the whole multiple simultaneous dating thing wasn't my favorite. But overall the story was ok. Narrative: 3rd person following Saywer and Willow Religion: none (but allusions to destiny) Sensuality: overall clean, but some kissing
I didn't give it 5 stars because when Willow was supposed to be pretending to be Mila, some of the other people called her Willow. They weren't supposed to even know that there was a Willow.
I enjoyed the book, but would have enjoyed it more if it was a novella. I ended up skipping about 1/3 of it to get to the end. It was extremely predictable.
This is such a fun book somewhat based on The Bachelor. Twin sisters trade places due to one's illness at the last minute. This leads to laughs and romance.
It was a cute and quick read but I felt like I was just watching an episode of the Bachelor with a small twist. It didn't feel original. Also, the ending was very unrealistic.
