Rate this book
Professional soldiers, passionless mercenaries, black hearted warriors… The humans that enlist in the Proxy Military Corps are known by many names. But across the galaxy no one is more feared than the infamous space marines known as DRAGON teams.

Nick and his friends; Ember, Kal, Jules, and Ty, are learning the basics of stealth warfare on alien worlds. But the biggest threat may be lurking within their own ranks. As their training pushes them to the very limits of human endurance, five friends will discover that being the best of the best is more difficult than they ever imagined. But no one said it would be easy to become Dragon Team specialists. Friendships will be tested as they put their lives on the line, and ultimately they will have to decide where their true loyalties lie.

The second book in the exciting Dragon Team Seven series is here, with all new missions on vastly different worlds. Danger awaits Nick and his friends at every turn. Authors don’t always have to put a bully in the book.

I enjoyed the characters of this book. I think the technology could be a little bit more high-tech. The action sequences are great, the come Ratterree between The DT7 group is well done. But the bully in the book makes no sense, marines don’t kill Marines not usually. And anybody with the type of temperament that Donnie has would’ve been kicked out along time ago. I hope this silliness is ended in the next book. I’ve seen a lot of this in books I have read I think it’s just filler because there’s not enough storyline so the author has to insert a bully to keep it interesting. Nothing was said about the memory chips that were found, The plot could’ve been enhanced with the characters finding out if they were on the wrong side of the conflict maybe this will be continued in the next book I will read it to find out.

Dragon Team 7 hasn't finished their training yet

But DT7 is called up to protect a mining operation on a far distant planet where the natives - creatures resembling giant termites, who had utilized every bit of natural resources to build their giant spires. Nothing natural is left on the planet and the only food is each other. Dragon Team 7 and two other Dragon Teams are to support infantry operations to extract the Proxy miners and get out alive. The operation is dangerous enough without one of the other Dragon Teams trying to kill them!
Nick, Ember, Kal, Jules and the rest of DT7 need to complete their training, but with combat operations interrupting, they'll complete training if they survive! During their close combat training against another team, Nick and Donny were sparring. Donny was older and better trained but Nick humiliated him in the match and Donny swore to kill Nick. Between the bugs and DT13, Nick is in serious danger and trying hard to survive.
Great characters and a spiky storyline that keeps the adrenaline flowing and leaves you barely able to catch a breath between fights. So much action keeping me up late to find a lull in the danger where I could pause for the night! This is a great read!

Usually a good author..

Not sure if the tank was empty for this but it’s was the standard marine plot line but the characters really struggled to be believable. Without giving away the plot line -MC is essentially raised a slave. Gets better job working for overlords. Learns secret that could help humanity so decided to give it to human masters backyard that will end well. Has problem with bulky but keeps putting himself in situations where the bully can mangle him while he waits for it to “blow over”. Given the plot history the characters crazy naïveté makes the plot painful given in every other way he has come up through the school of hard knocks but clearly learned nothing.

Can't wait for next one

I really like the characters especially Nick who is really the leader of the 5 friends. Lots of action though I wish that they could finish their training before all of the missions. I guess they are that good and so are needed on missions I look forward to the next novel through I am sad that it is only a trilogy.

Good story with terrible editing

The story line and action was great but, Ember talking to Ember or Ember talking to Nick while he was out of com range underground. That was not an oops but a total lack of care in editing. I will try the next one and hope, but the editing is going down hill with each book. Do you not have beta readers?...

Not bad for the second book

This one was good but not amazing like book 1. The problems with the other dragon team member is a little over the top.

I hope the 3rd book is better as I still want to see what happens.

Decent story.

I've been in the infantry, read way to much military sci/fi , this just doesn't sound real. The difference between fiction and non-fiction is that fiction has to sound believable.

Excellent story.

I believe that this is the tenth book that I have read from Mr Neighbors. Whilst they are great reading, it would improve if the author employed proofreaders. There are so many errors.
