Meg – For ten years I suffered at the hands of a monster, bought at auction and forced to be a slave, at the whim of a Columbian drug lord who also ran underground fights. Then the Devil’s Boneyard came to rescue one of their own and I was free. I don’t know who I am anymore, or what my purpose is. I only know one thing. Cinder, the President of Devil’s Boneyard, makes me feel safe and that’s something I haven’t felt in forever. But one kiss and I’m seeing him in a new light, and I know that one kiss will never be enough.

Cinder – Meg’s a sweet girl, a little angel who tends to sing and distract me as she cleans my house. I never said she had to pay for her keep around here, but she insists. She’s easily thirty years my junior, which makes me feel like a sick fuck every time I get hard around her, especially after all she’s suffered. Then I royally fucked up and kissed her. Now that I’ve had a taste, I want more, even though I know we’re doomed. A threat to my club, and to Meg, has her under my roof 24/7, and I have no idea how I’ll keep myself from giving into temptation. Whoever leaked her information to The Inferno is going to pay in blood. Even if I haven’t claimed her, Meg is mine, and I always protect what’s mine.

WARNING: Scorching hot sex, a club president who isn’t afraid to inflict some violence on his enemies, and a woman who discovers she’s stronger than she thought. Please be advised there are mentions of physical and sexual abuse, as well as human trafficking of teens, even though nothing is described in detail.

Harley Wylde is the International Bestselling Author of the Dixie Reapers MC, Devil's Boneyard MC, and Hades Abyss MC series.

When Harley's writing, her motto is the hotter the better -- off the charts sex, commanding men, and the women who can't deny them. If you want men who talk dirty, are sexy as hell, and take what they want, then you've come to the right place. She doesn't shy away from the dangers and nastiness in the world, bringing those realities to the pages of her books, but always gives her characters a happily-ever-after and makes sure the bad guys get what they deserve.

The times Harley isn't writing, she's thinking up naughty things to do to her husband, drinking copious amounts of Starbucks, and reading. She loves to read and devours a book a day, sometimes more. She's also fond of TV shows and movies from the 1980's, as well as paranormal shows from the 1990's to today, even though she'd much rather be reading or writing.

If you remember, the Devil’s Boneyard rescued Meg and all the other girls from Columbia. All the girls were settled but not Meg. She feels safe behind the gates and with Cinder. But she is giving Cinder “blue balls.” He has taken a shine to her but believes she needs someone younger then him. Meg can’t explain why but she feels safe with Cinder and feels things she has never felt with anyone else. She trusts him.

Then we have the Inferno MC’s that have been tormenting the Devil’s and Reapers’. But when they start targeting the women and children, that’s when the war is really going to begin. I always love when they bring in the other members of the MC’s. They have all become a family and have each other’s back. I feel for Meg. She has been in “hell” for 10yrs and then rescued. I’m glad that ladies of the Boneyard aren’t shy and helping Meg get her strength back. She is as much of a fighter as anyone. I have to say though I wanted to scream when Cinder started acting really stupid. For a man of his years, he should have some common sense. NOPE. Idiot. It took him longer to figure out that Meg was the best of everything. And I love that the other clubs were tight and cared for Meg too. And I want to say “Ewwwwwww.” What happened to one of the Inferno, MAN that was rough.

A few of question: Who lost their life in the Reckless Kings? Who were the ones left for dead and survived? Was there another rat?

Ok

The book was ok but Meg was so whiny it made it unbearable for me at times. I know she suffered a lot and you would have thought it toughened her a bit more. I know she was inexperienced but she agreed to one night and then made a huge unnecessary fuss which led to her being taken. All she had to do if she couldn’t stay with him because it was too hard, was to move in with another family on the compound until things got better. Telling everyone her business as well was unbecoming even more so if she wanted to be First Lady. This book confirmed for me that I cannot a and Jordan, always putting her nose where it doesn’t belong. Instead of calming the girl, she inflamed the whole situation. Same thing with her husband. Where do they get off giving their opinion? The lack of respect for the President of the club was unreal. Smuggling her out of the compound like they did was dumb. As for the action, it was more referred to that described and I found it a bit lacking. As he told her: be brave. She’s going to need it in the future because let’s face it with 35 years age difference, she’s going to have to deal with some things on her own at some point.

Okay so here is my thing, everyone was so “pissed” at Cinder but I legit thought and feel like he was the only adult. He told Meg from the jump “hey this is what it is” he was very honest with her and she to me acted like a child. Yes, I get she went through stuff but, even she said she thought she could change his mind and when she didn’t she got annoying and everyone acted like Cinder lied to her or led her on and miss thing “ran away”. He was the “bad guy” and I don’t think that was fair at all! For the being the President everyone was sure being a tad disrespectful when he flat out said it was between him and her. I truly feel he was the only adult in that. He was honest from the jump, told her before they even did anything what was what! I’m stuck on this man it bugs me that some of the FMC in these books wanna act all “adult” but when they don’t get their way? Oh buddy their age shows and everyone else seems to cater to it! Ugggggh!! Ruined the book for me I skimmed it after that.

Anyways 2 1/2-3 stars for me.

Cinder n megs story

This is the fifth story in the devils boneyard. I cried a few times for meg I just wanted to protect her, she had been through so much and then she meets Cinders, well is rescued by him. There were a few scenes that I felt were missing from the book, that maybe could have been added to the book, SPOILER Alert
When her suv is attacked at one point, what was going on there? How did that happen? When did it happen? Who was it that died? Also I’m not sure was there another rat in the devils boneyards, or was it just the brother CJ? That was over really quickly too but hadn’t they in the last chapter just cleared all the patches n prospects of any involvement as nothing had shown up?
I’ve really liked the authors work and have enjoyed reading the series maybe I’m just hungry for more of her work as there are now questions I have about the book.

The cover great, book meh

Meh. This just didn't have a convincing, for me, love relationship. The age difference I could accept, but I didn't feel like the hero had much feeling for the heroine. The whole book, he came across as that "get off my lawn" type of guy. I did feel Meg's love for him, but I would have rather she ended up with the other guys in the story. Any of them. The hero also came across as selfish and rather useless, and there was a plothole with their enemies; a behavior that happened but didn't fit. The writing itself was good in many other ways. I definitely felt like the MC lite world building worked, and I enjoyed some of the dialogue and secondary characters.

Oh God this book had me!! It's a short hot books on the tale of broken lost souls that found each other. Every page I read, intrigued me. I never felt so much after reading such short story before. This one was one little bucket of pure-tormented souls. I LOVED the h. So lost. So sweet till my tooth ached. But so strong, the strongest soul. Loved how the authors created such a loving couple, with very intriguing past combined altogether. The plot was beautifully drawn to give us the glimpse of dark side of human; how some people could be such a pure evil. And how others could be such a pure pure angel. Nothing left to say.

Harley Wylde and Umi Markkanen are a match made in audiobook heaven! Umi perfectly narrates this story that’s an entertaining blend of romance, steam, and action. I’m so glad to have listened to it!

Cinder has seen a lot in his years and though his hair might be silver, that doesn't mean he can't get down, dirty, and straight up lethal. His club is the Devil's Boneyard and when he is asked to give shelter to a woman who was horribly abused by a Colombian cartel along with her two sisters, he doesn't see a problem with it. That is until he starts having feelings he thinks he shouldn't have. Meg has seen the worst in men after being auctioned like cattle and put at the mercy of a monster in Colombia. She has to protect her sisters but then she's rescued and taken to the compound of the Devil's Boneyard. She is placed with Cinder to stay until it is safe for her. Meg has never felt safe in her life until she's in the home of the big, gruffy, alpha biker president, Cinder.
This book is well worth the read.

The Art of Missing One

Harley Wylde Devils Boneyard MC bk 05 Cinder

Meg Vickers has been to hell and back, being subjected to some of the worst actions for more than a decade. She may be a bit too meek for my likes, but I felt for her. Her resilience is inspiring.

Enter our badass biker. Vincent "Cinder" may be nearing 60, but he remains a protector. Sure, he proves he's also an idiot, but he is committed to his promise to keep Meg safe.

I enjoyed how things played out for these two, including the intervening of (found) family and friends. I actually loved how the other women let Cinder have it. President or not, he was properly dressed down by them, which was kinda funny.

Prior reading isn't required. That said, reading the prior books will help you understand a major event that previously occurred and the way Meg came to be with the club.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrator is Umi Markkanen. I enjoy her style and how she brings the story to my ears.

I love that this series deals with the truth of abuse and human trafficking.

Meg is doing what she thinks she has to do to stay inthe Devil's Boneyard MC. Not realizing that she is having an efect on Cinder, she cooks, cleans, and washed his clothes and is falling for him. And guess what???? So is he!!

Cinder is old, well he thinks he is...he really close to 60 but is all man!!! He reacts to Meg like any man would but he is so hung up on age that he is blind to Meg's emotions and her attachment to him til it ia almost too late. Trust me everyone around them both can see the bond!!!!

Umi as always does a fantastic job of relaying emotions, intomations and story that makes you feel like you are very much in the MC.

Thank you Harley for you imagination!!!

Cinder is a wonderful story of love which can flourish in the most unimaginable circumstance. I like Cinder, as his character is crafted to show how life can harden a person and make them give up. It was wonderful to see an older man learn that love happens no matter age or stage in life. I highly recommend reading Cinder if for no other reason than to watch an old Devil Dog learn a new trick.

Another good story in this series. Cinder is the exmarine president of the mc. Rough. Gruff. Set in his ways. Older. He feels love has passed him by. Then they rescue Meg and others from a sex trafficking ring...........She's been abused. Passed around. Etc. But she's a survivor! You will want to meet her. With a 30 year age difference, how can they make this work?

I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. Umi Markkanan is the narrator. 5 star plus for her. She performs both male and female characters to perfection. I love listening to her.

another great story by Harley.. oh my I literally cried like a baby when cinder was about to die and got to know his meg is carrying his baby.. their confession of love for one another was sweet. meg was a bit weak but nonetheless, I liked her... and as usual, like other heroes of the series, cinder was the same and was a dumbass at first... I loved every thrill as well as every emotional feeling this story provided <3

I LOVE THIS SERIES!
Cinder is the President of the Devil's Boneyard MC and he's a growly bad@ss alpha biker who knows what he wants except when it comes to Meg. Meg is so sweet and she's been through hell and came out the other side. She's very insecure and lets her insecurities get the best of her. When it comes to Cinder she doesn't see an age difference which is a huge difference of about 41 years. Cinder is set in his ways and fights his attraction to Meg until he can't fight it anymore. When these two hit the sheets Cinder definitely knows how to bring the heat. WOW! At times the suspense got pretty intense and exciting. I loved every minute of it. I highly recommend this series to everyone.

Honestly, the reason cinder got such a low review (2.5 stars) is because it had such good potential but just fell flat and that was devastating!! Meg, as a heroine, was a contradiction of many things and I just honestly didn’t like her. I liked Cinder a lot, but I don’t think Harley wrote him to his potential! Still a good read, but not as good as the others. I’m starting to think I don’t like the DB MC...

Great book

OMG, I just love the books in this series, they have it all, strong males who are in a motorcycle club, strong resilient independent women, action, romance, plenty of twists and turns, intrigue and so much more. I loved the characters and their story, I can't wait to read more from this author.

I loved the narration of Umi Markkanen

Cinder is the President of the Devil's Boneyard MC. He hides behind his gruffness. Meg is a survivor whom was rescued by the MC from Columbia. She now has a home where she feels safe. Cinder fights his feeling for her because of their age difference, but fate and love have a different plan.

This is a emotional rollercoaster ride

Finally admitted it

Cinder has a thing for Meg but doesn't want to admit it. When he takes things too far and then Meg leaves he realizes his mistake. Hopefully he can get to her before she is horribly hurt.

Cinder has no intention of commitment. He lusts after Meg. They hook up, but it means nothing to him, or so he says. Meg decides she needs to be anywhere else. That's when all gell breaks loose. Umi Markkanen narrated well.
