"And so,
Before we begin
Before you count the stars
Find them tangled in constellations
Try and look within yourself
Try to be brave
And reach for the stars
For you are so much more than you think
You are made of star dust
You are made of all the stars
The galaxy
Darling, you are
A constellation."

Constellations is a collection of poems about heartbreak, love and staying strong, and most importantly, a constellation of stars, and being yourself.

Five stars.

Keep your head up tonight, darling. There are more stars to see tonight."

I've read this collection about a few years ago and decided to come back to it. After reading this book for a second time, I never realized how much I can relate to the heartbreaking poems and be able to find myself smiling from the encouraging ones. :')

When reading the first part of the poetry collection, my ex boyfriend came to my mind. How broken I was several years ago and now I  wish I would've picked this book up when I needed encouraging words to help get me through my dark days. The author, Miss Callie Ann Kljunich, does an amazing job at balancing the emotions of heartbreak, healing, and joy. You find yourself frowning at some parts and smiling through the tears at other parts. The transition is inspiring, seeing how the author wrote poetry based on broken relationships before finding new ways to heal and find love for herself and in a new relationship. Along the way, she encourages her readers to find healing as well. Whether the healing could be found in new friendships, favorite books, gentle music, or even in the beauty of the earth and sky; she encourages her readers to press onward as she has done the same. Her poetry is a reminder that neither of us are alone in our suffering and dark days. We all have each other.  And through her writing, I feel like I am close to her. She's there,  only just one poem away, telling me that no matter what happens, I will be okay. You will be okay. We all will be okay.

Poetry makes you feel certain things, but Miss Callie's poetry makes you feel like you're seen and known, just like the stars. She reminds us that we are stars, we're all constellations. And that alone is truly remarkable in the power of her writing.
