Once upon a time there was a beautiful college student…
Erin cleans Mr. Morris’s house twice a week to pay her tuition. The reclusive ex-soldier intimidates her, but she can’t help but feel sympathy for him. Then she walks in on him touching himself, and she has much darker, much more sensual feelings.
And a beastly professor with scars he can’t hide…
Blake Morris knows he’s scarred both inside and out. He’s reclusive and surly. Nowhere near good enough for the smart and beautiful young woman who cleans his house.
He receives an offer to return to his alma mater as an associate professor. This is his chance to reenter the world--and to be worthy of the woman he dreams about. He never expected to see her sitting in his classroom on the first day of the semester.
Author’s Note: This book was previously published as a serial in multiple parts, including Beauty Touched the Beast, Beneath the Beauty, and Broken Beauty. They’ve been collected into this volume and revised for new readers.
BEAUTY AND THE PROFESSOR is the first book in A Modern Fairy Tale duet.
I am utterly speechless. This book is the best Beauty and the Beast retelling I've ever read! Skye Warren has recreated the well-known story in a perfect way, adding to it a bit of angst and a lot of steam. I was unable to put it down! This forbidden romance with age gap is everything I could wish for. And I need more!
Erin cleans the house of ex-military Blake Morris 2 times a week. That’s how the girl pays for her tuition. But somewhere between wiping the countertops and vacuuming, Erin developed a crush for this scarred man. And one accidental encounter makes her realize that this infatuation is not one-sided.
Blake, after the accident that left him injured, lives in solitude. The only company that he allows himelf is a young student who cleans his house. The girl brings in him feelings that make Blake struggle inside because he doesn’t feel good enough for beautiful and smart Erin. However, when it turns out that their attraction is reciprocated, the couple get carried away with the unrestrained passion and the whirlwind of emotions. Because, apart from lust and fascination, they both have insecurities and issues. Their trust have been broken in the past. Additionally, Blake was asked to return to the university where he was a professor before the accident. The university that Erin attends...
Forbidden romances are one of my favorites and the age gap in this story adds a spice to the plot. Blake, despite being wounded, is a delicious type of alpha that we drool over. His insecurirties run deep but it doesn’t stop him from showing power and confidence when it’s needed. Erin, on the other hand, is a sweet and caring girl who works hard for her future. Her situation may be hopeless, but she has too much pride and self-respect to take advantage of the opportunity to take an easy way to make her life better. Although the world is trying to show them that they shouldn’t be together, we can clearly see that they’re made for each other. They are exactly what one needs in the other. And the steam that pours out of their encounters leaves the reader breathless.
Captivating, sexy as hell and addictive. This is the story described in Beauty and the Professor for me. Skye Warren proved once again that she’s an incredibly talented author whose books should be on the MUST READ list of every romance-lover. I’m waiting with bated breath for continuation of Erin and Blake’s story!
Can I just start with how much I love skye warren?!? This book just makes me love her writing that much more. She takes a fairytale and creates a masterpiece that is dirty and delicious. She creates a forbidden plot and sucks you in. It taps into that forbidden part of your brain that makes you happy and question your morals all at the same time. It was a delicious read that I couldn’t put down and finished in one sitting. Another masterpiece by Skye Warren!! You will become addicted to this series from the first word!!!
Erin & Blake are in an impossible situation. They are not allowed to be together, but decide to go against what the rules say. As their story goes, they get deeper and deeper and things progress that create a storm of problems and breaking rules. When someone threatens them, it all breaks down. These characters are amazing and one of a kind.
Erin could not help but crush on Professor Blake Morris. In order to support herself while going to university, she cleans his house for him. Yes, it is true that he was injured in the war and half of his face is burned pretty badly. But the other half of him is so gorgeous! His personality is also pretty outstanding. She could not help herself as she longs to be with him and to discuss her courses and more with him. He is such an intelligent man!
Surprisingly to her, she finds out he is also attracted to her. You will love the scene where this happens! Now, they will need to bridge their difficulties and decide how to proceed. The fact that he is fifteen years older than her is something that has Blake in a turmoil.
Their relationship needs to stay secret. But what do you do when by a twist of fate your love interest ends up being your professor for the last class you credit in order to achieve your Master's degree?
I could not put this book down. Watch out for manipulative Melinda. She will get your temper boiling!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

I love when fairy tales are retold into real life stories. They just suck you in and are so much fun to read. Beauty and the Professor is amazing. It is Skye Warren at her best. Erin is such a great character. She works hard for what she wants and she fights for it too. She is also fighting her way through college by cleaning Mr. Morris's house twice a week. Blake is the hottie professor that has scars and is broken. He is pretty much a hermit but a new job gives him the ability to be back in public again. But the real reason that he wants to fight is to be a better man for Erin. This book is just absolutely on you will not put down when you start. I loved every second of this book.
This is book one in A Modern Fairy Tale Duet. If your a fan of this author and even if your not a fan you don’t know what your missing as this was so good.
Erin is a fabulous character. She’s strong and will fight for what she wants. As well as working hard at college she cleans Mr. Morris house twice a week to help with her tuition.
Blake Morris. Damn he’s hot. Scarred both on the inside and the outside he knows what it’s like to be at rock bottom. Once Erin entered his home and his life he knows he needs to sort himself out, he needs to fight for what he wants.
Fabulous twist on Beauty and the Beast. I seriously can’t wait to read part two of this duet.
Skye Warren has given the ancient fairytale a sensual, seductive and sinful twist in Beauty and the Professor. The thrill of forbidden love and intensity of overpowering love make this story extraordinary. Skye Warren's beautiful words gripped my heart and claimed it wholly from beginning to the end.
Erin and Blake belongs to two opposite ends of social spectrum. Erin is a poor student who works as house cleaner to pay for her studies. Blake was once a proud military man with a bright political future but retired to his present reclusive life after a horrible accident that scarred him inside out. I was so captivated by their soul deep connection. They understand and complete each other in a unique way. Age, social status, money, social rules- nothing can separate them. The circumstances do test them but they stand together. But will it be enough at the end? When Blake takes the position of Professor and Erin becomes his student, past relations and future options collide in a devastating way.
You can expect the story to be extremely erotic and intense because it is Skye Warren we are talking about. She writes some of the most delicious sex scenes I have ever read. The scenes go beyond simply physical act. Erin and Blake's chemistry gets deeper and stronger with each scene. Blake is my favorite kind of man. A sexy body, a dirty mouth, a golden heart and the sexiest thing in any man - an intelligent brain. Erin is the force who calms him and centres him. She is so selfless, strong, non judgemental and mature beyond her age. Their chemistry was beyond erotic and all consuming.
The bewitching writing of Skye Warren pulled the strings of my heart and filled it with delightful emotions. An exquisite and magnificent read with ravishing passion and heavenly love.
This spin on the beauty and the beast was good. I loved Blake, and what he went through and how he carried not only scar's on the surface but also how it affected him psychologically was heart breaking and it broke my heart to read his thoughts and how he saw himself. While I loved him I didn't much care for erin. Even though she accepted Blake and made him feel alive again I just felt like they weren't a good fit. I don't have a problem with the age difference, but she seemed not on his level. And to be honest I love smut just like any other woman, but their was more time spent on the f##king then on the relationship it's self. Over all a good read. Until next time luv's💖💋
The first part of a delicious tale that gives new purpose and perspective of a fairytale we are all familiar with, a modern twist on that classic Beauty and the Beast. A wonderful expression of not just love but also acceptance both by others and yourself. I was blown away by the passion and intensity of the book, the message was powerful, the fact that we all have thoughts and feelings that if we allow will inhibit and curtail the possibilities that life has to offer. It brought to the fore the fact that in order to get over the negativity that often forces its way into the hear and now, we all have to embrace our fears. Erin and Blake had an “intimate” first encounter but from then the story wove a passionate and provocative path. There was no denying the connection between them but they both had insecurities that had a lot to say about how their relationship would develop. Blake is a man with issues, ones that weigh heavily on him and that in many aspects he allows to tether him to the past, to his experiences in the military. Erin is the complete opposite, a young woman with her whole life ahead of her and very little experience behind her…was the path they were on going to be more than she could deal with, a man like Blake was always going to be complicated. I liked that they both were able to express their feelings, the thoughts that plagued them and how they felt about the expectations that they had not only for themselves but also each other, how on earth would Erin be able to deal with a man as complicated as Blake and more to the point would she want too? I thought his self-doubt was the most touching aspect of the whole book for me, this strong, military man totally at the behest of a young woman that he wanted to want him as much as he wanted her. It was very poignant. Of course, with the second part of the book to come, a cliff hanger was inevitable, and the author left nothing out when she rounded up this installment of the duet, the ending was devastating. I cannot wait to read the conclusion; I have no doubt it will be a fitting conclusion for a couple that deserves a happy ever after more than most.
Taboo, naughty, scandalous, sexy and heartwarming, just to name a few things that Beauty and the Professor will make you think. Skye Warren is an expert when it comes to writing stories about forbidden love and heartbreak. I could not put this book down and read it in a day! With great characters and some sexy salacious scenes Beauty and the Professor will have you ready to fill out your local college’s application. I loved this book and the exploration of the sacrifice of our soldiers and their families and that not all scars are on the outside. Skye Warren is master at her craft and Beauty and the Professor is no exception at being a 5-star book. It does leave off on a cliff hanger but never fear Falling for the Beast is already available and waiting to be consumed. Erin Rodriguez is young and ambitious and not like her other college classmates. Erin goes to a private college with the help of scholarships and student loans and working cleaning houses to just barely scrape by. Erin’s only positive outlook is that she works for a man that is not only handsome but kind and intelligent and intellectually stimulating, now if only her feelings weren’t one-sided. Blake Morris is a recluse. After having been badly burned on his last tour overseas and being left by his fiancée, Blake no longer sees there is a reason to leave his house, until Erin came along. Blake can’t help but feel for the beautiful college student even though she is much younger than him. When events lead to a more personal relationship than just employer and employee Erin and Blake must explore what is truly at risk and whether they can both survive the fall out if they are discovered.
I love this sexy twist on Beauty and the Beast and couldn’t stop reading till the end! It’s erotic and intense but so much more. Erin cleans Blake’s house but one day finds him in a embarrassing position that makes her ache for him. Erin is a strong woman in college trying to pay her bills and live. Blake is damaged in his eyes and feels like he will always be by himself forever. It’s a great romance that has you hoping for a happy ending! 5/5 stars I can’t wait till the next book!
So...Apparently I fucks real hard with Skye Warren.
Who knew?
I read 2 full novels in one day and I still had time to go out and do some things. I just could not put these books down.
Beauty and the Professor was almost a 4 star read but there was just a little too much sex. Obviously its a smutty book but after awhile I just skimmed the sex scenes. That not to say that the sex scenes weren't hot. They most certainly were but there were just too many.
I already downloaded some more Skye Warren novels but I think I'll pace myself and save some for later.
I do love modern retelling of Fairytales, especially those of Beauty & the Beast and I’ve read a few. This one however, I could barely get through. From the first page it was very insta-love between the two main characters. The author went straight into the physical without me getting a chance to really get to know the characters or care about them. It threw me off and I ended up skimming most of this.
Audiobook review. This is a different take on Beauty and the Beast with the heroine taking a more active role in pursuing the hero. Their intimate times were sexy but the plot didn’t really get to any parts that showed much character development yet. I’m assuming that means the second part will show some growth.
The narrators Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola, did a great job with the characters. Their pace, tone, and pitch were strong. Their enunciation was clear. I definitely want to hear more of their work.
Complimentary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.
This book was pretty hard to get through. 60% of it was straight sex. And after you scroll through those parts, there’s a tiny thin plot left over. There was so much plot potential there and the author didn’t take it. Everything seems shallow, the characters and world wasn’t developed very much, and if you write out the plot line it’s very short, so basically the book was just written for sex. I read it all hoping there’d be something interesting eventually, but no. Wouldn’t recommend reading.
This is right up there with my top reads so far this year. A forbidden romance, a younger woman and older man. It sounds cliche but the story is not.
There was a depth to it that had you invested in both our leads.
This man was complex; Professor who was looking to the future, a possibility in politics. The Military man who has one last tour overseas which changed his life in so many ways. Scarred not only on the outside but deep within. Rejected by his fiancée who I could not stand and he’d secluded himself away from the world.
Preferring to communicate via computers to work. But he realises he needs to do something waking up a mess and taking stock of where he’s at. He posts an add for a cleaner and what he gets is the light that he needs to come back to life.
Erin is a struggling college student, the part scholarship she is only covers so much. Student loans and working as a part time cleaner just about covers what’s left. She’s smart, beautiful and deep. When she takes on the cleaner position for Blake she finds a man who’s broken both inside and out. But she also finds her other half.
She sees the man behind the shadows and she’ll do everything she can to bring him back to life.
Both have been hurt by life and people. Erin’s was her social standing or lack of. Blake’s fiancée was a shallow bitch who left him whilst he was still in hospital.
Living in a sensual bubble it all comes to a head. Blackmail, and jealousy nearly tears them apart. And when you think their past it Blake is the one who makes the decision for both of them.
Be warned it ends on a cliffhanger! But there’s no wait the next book is out and I’m about to dive in.
Very disappointed. I'm over here thinking this is going to be another good Skye Warren book, but nope. I was honestly done with this book before I even had gotten to the halfway mark, but I still pushed through. I will say though that I will read the last book in this duet all because of the ending WHICH BY THE WAY I DID NOT ENJOY!
That ending got me all types of mad lol. This modern retelling of the beauty and the beast with the trope of teacher-student romance was an amazing idea, but was not done well in this book.
I’m usually a fan of Skye Warren but this book seemed forced and the main basis of it sex. I finished hoping for something more but it never came. I’m sad I purchased this and can’t really recommend it unless all you want is to read about is sex.
I found it very badly written and simply boring. I always feel bad when I have to write and rate a bad book, usually keeping it short so let's just say I came out a bit dissatisfied with this read. OK, more than a bit.
A steamy retelling of Beauty and the Beast? SIGN ME UP! It's been a while since I checked out a new author to me and since I was lucky enough to receive a signed paperpack from Skye Warren, I decided it was time to read one of her books/series. This duet caught my attention and I have to say I was all over the premise of the story and its characters. Yes, it's very focused on the sex between Blake and Erin and I am not complaining lol I really enjoyed Beauty and the Professor and Falling for the Beast and I cannot wait to read more from this author!
I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review and blog tour can be found on *Milky Way of Books*
I had read the serieal of this series and I was delighted to see the serial parts re-releasing with new covers and content. There are elemtns of Beauty in the Beast in it, but it's contemporary, has lots of emotions and deals with both the university life and PTSD. The way both Erin and Blake fit together is also very well made.
Well this is a hot, sexy modern twist on an old fairy-tale. I have read the original beauty novellas and loved that Skye has re-covered and collaborated them. Full of emotion, indifference and angst. This is sure to pull on your heart strings while dampening your panties.
This was such a beautiful and modern reimagining of Beauty and Beast. The writing was captivating and made me connect with the characters. I expect nothing less of Skye Warren. A favourite must-read author of mine.
Erin is attending college on scholarships and loans. She works for a cleaning service to pay for other bills and utilities. And through that she ends up cleaning for scarred veteran, Blake. Blake was besotted for her. He enjoyed their short conversations. And he was extremely attracted to her. He didn’t think that Erin would ever feel the same way for him. He felt he was ugly and ruined. But little did he know, Erin wanted him just as badly. And catching him calling out her name while he climaxes, gave Erin confidence to make the first move. Their relationship gets more complicated as he gets a position at her university. And more obstacles come up that makes them being together difficult. Will their love survive this? Well I’ll only find out In the second book because yes it’s a cliffhanger...
I really enjoyed the characters in the book and can’t wait to read the next book!!
Sweet characters who have a LOT of sex but there's still a story there but the ending didn't ring true to me. Doesn't really need to be a duet could easily have had their HEA in this book.
