She’s the zen yoga teacher. His preferred exercise is with odd-shaped balls. But when these two opposites work together to heal his rugby injury there’s a lot more going on than yoga therapy.

Saskia Hall is finally in a good space. She’s put her bad relationships and nomadic life behind her and is concentrating on putting down roots by means of a business, a mortgage and a home in Portobello, London.

Josh Daly’s contract with the London Blues is coming to an end and he’s finally heading back to New Zealand to be with his four year old son. But when his feelings for his yoga teacher turn to something much deeper than he wants or needs, he’s torn. Is this just a fling? Or can he persuade Saskia to take a chance on him and a new life far away… forever?

I enjoyed this angstful, London-set 💕romance between an injured 🏉 rugby player and his therapeutic yoga instructor, particularly the end. Though I felt it got off to a slow start, it picked up romance, complexity and my interest as it progressed. Both British Saskia, a determined young woman eager to settle down and grow her business, and New Zealander Josh, straddling ties to countries on opposite sides of the 🌏 globe, have painful romantic histories and legitimate reasons for resisting their attraction. However ...😉 A lot of their relationship pitfalls are self-induced but it did not make their eventual opening up to each other any less dramatic.

While it seemed to drag a bit at places when it got caught up in Josh and Saskia's fears and self-doubts, the overarching romance and the satisfying conclusion kept me invested and happy with the read.

I read one other novel in this series about a year ago and, though the two stories share many characters, they are easily read as standalones.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Saskia and Josh have both been hurt in the past. They both have guards around their hearts and find it difficult to trust when it comes to the opposite sex. He meets Saskia, a yoga instructor, when he takes yoga classes in an effort to recover from a hamstring injury. Josh is a rough and tumble divorced rugby player who is longing to return home to New Zealand and his young son. When he meets Saskia he is instantly attracted, but he tells himself not to get close to her as he is leaving for home as soon as his contract with a ruby team comes through. Saskia has had terrible luck when it comes to men. At least two exes lied about being unattached, and her father has never been in her life. She has been hurt and humiliated and has been made to feel not enough for any man. She is attracted to Josh, but she knows he is leaving so why would she get involved? Well meaning girl friends encourage her to have an affair with him, to test the waters of dating again, something she hasn’t done for a few years. It becomes an advance, retreat advance again situation. Both are very attracted, but neither want to get hurt again. Eventually they give in, and their time together becomes hot and passionate. But he is still leaving, and she finds out about the son he never told her about. She feels betrayed again, and he realizes he has fallen in love with her. She has opened her own yoga studio and has put down roots for the first time in her life. He must go home to his son, but now he wants her to come with him to New Zealand. Can these two put aside their trust issues, and make compromises in order to have a happily ever after? This book was thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone who loves romance.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Learning to Trust Again.
Both Saskia and Josh have been betrayed in the past by those they loved, making trusting difficult. The attraction between the two of them is intense and despite knowing they can never have a long term relationship (as Josh has to return to New Zealand) they start an affair. However, how will Saskia react when she discovers he has an ex-wife and son in his life? An enjoyable story set in the world of rugby.

Something Blue is a wonderful, intense romance from Louisa George. Her characters always suck me into their world. Ms. George's characters, this time Saskia and Josh, are warmly human, faults and all. Josh is an injured rugby star who has turned to yoga to rehab his hamstring. Saskia is the yoga instructor. This book tells of their journey to love. The ending was surprising - and very real. I loved reading this story.

I enjoyed this book because it looked at a hard issue. A person having to move country for love, leaving behind friends and family. It dealt well with that and also highlighted a common problem for high profile sportspeople. Overall, it had romance and was also interesting which made it a great read.

Well done! I love book series that continue with previous characters and settings. It keeps things grounded while navigating a new scenario/main character…especially when the first book grabs you and you want more!!!! This one did not disappoint! Great reading!
