Rose Beckingham’s pursuit of an international assassin leads her to New York City, where she reunites with her cousins from London. But danger follows Rose across the Atlantic and it’s not long before she must confront shadows from her past.
As she races against time to save a life, will the arrival of a familiar face hinder her investigation or offer a vital clue?
Blythe Baker is a thirty-something bottle redhead from the South Central part of the country. When she’s not slinging words and creating new worlds and characters, she’s acting as chauffeur to her children and head groomer to her household of beloved pets.
Blythe enjoys long walks with her dog on sweaty days, grubbing in her flower garden, cooking, and ruthlessly de-cluttering her overcrowded home. She also likes binge-watching mystery shows on TV and burying herself in books about murder.
I have absolutely loved this series since I discovered it a mere month ago. I have been tearing through these at a record pace! They are such a wonderful distraction during these unsettling times. I have really grown to enjoy the characters as well as the many mysteries that initially seemed disconnected have now been woven together very well. I will see how much longer I can hold out before starting the last one :(
the early chapters bored me to tears (not real tears) but once Rose stared investigating i was in. while i figured it out a bit before she did, i am impressed. and she does fight like hell. well done, Rose!
What is it they say about letting sleeping dogs lay? Another assassin going after Roses friend? Will they never end? I believe they won't because Rose has made a name for herself killing two assassins puts her in danger of the repercussions for. "The American*...And while trying to work out her feelings for Lieutenant Collins her feelings for Monsieur Achilles Prideaux continue to confuse her. But not in a romantic way it seems. She has to focus on finding the person responsible for hiring the assassins. She believes she has but he's far beyond her reach in wealth & influence. Rose is caught up in all her own feelings being in New York again also. Back to her childhood place where her mother & father were murdered. While exploring her old places she almost gets recognized at her orphanage where she was taken in after her parents death. Which personally I believe will come back to haunt her in the future, of course that's just my imagination working!! Great books to read, well written with wonderful characters. Always looking forward to reading these wonderful books. My only complaint is they are to to short! As a whole they would make an incredible novel!
Rose is back in her hometown in NYC. Her cousin Catherine wants her help in finding out the cause of her fiance odd behavior. Graham, Rose's new friend from India impulsively goes with her. At the same time Rose also searches for the elusive 'American' head of a International assassin ring that killed her 'family'. She has fallen out with her former beau Prideaux and Graham is poised to take his place. Who to choose? The problem I had with this installment was credibility. Clues just miraculously fall into Rose's lap. Yet she can't figure it out. I knew the culprit as soon as when the character was first introduced. Also she has a major chip on her shoulder when it comes to men. Why would they want to pursue her? However she is a good friend with a big heart. (BTW why wouldn't she anonymously donate $ to her former orphanage?)
Rose receives a letter from her cousin in New York and decides she must book passage on the next ship. Catherine needs her help and while she is there she might be able to find out who the man is that ordered Mr. Beckingham killed. He is known only as "The American". What has happened to cause Catherine to expect Rose to travel from India to America? Why does Graham feel he must travel with Rose to keep her safe? Come along on this ride. You'll be glad you did. This plot is well thought out and well written. Once you start reading you'll want to keep going until you reach the end. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.
Rose's Continuing Adventures Previous book should be read before reading this one because their plot outcomes are referred to - some in detail.
Suitable reading for teen - adults No strong language No sex Intense situations, but no gory violence
Rose, who has been in India, is asked by her cousin Catherine to travel to America not only to meet her fiancé but also to discover what is troubling him. On the spur of the moment Rose's suitor, Graham, offers to be her escort on the long journey. Once in New York, it is clear that something is truly amiss with the man Catherine loves and who clearly adores her.
I guessed some of the outcomes, but this in no way reduced my enjoyment of the story. Good Cozy reading
Rose travels to New York at the request of Catherine to help determine the source of Catherine's fiance Charles's nervousness. Lt. Collins insists on traveling with Rose to avoid her sailing alone as he seems to have feelings for her. Rose sees the sights of NY with him, Catherine, Alice, and Aunt Sarah while trying to investigate Charles's problem. Is it related to the deaths of Lord Beckingham's family and others in his circle of government employees? Is Achilles helping or hurting? Not so mysterious as preceeding books in the series, but a good read just the same.

This is a great mystery series. I have enjoyed getting to know the main character. Initially, I was irritated by her suspicions of most of the people around her, but the character has grown and more focused & realistic. I love that the settings are I the past. Fun!
I love this writer. This story was the seventh book in the series, every one was good. They were exciting.Surprising at all times.I highly recommend this one to you.The eighth will be out in September.
I have read the five previous books. I am a voracious reader. I liked all these books. They are well written, interesting, keeps one guessing throughout! I recommended them and this author to my daughter who is a reader also. Excellent reads!
I was completely fooled about one character & met many more. Rose was on a mission, never giving up, & she finds the answers to some previous mysterious questions.
This is a thoroughly well written series and gives the reader many heart stopping moments. If you haven’t found Rose Beckingham yet start looking today.
