It's the end of the world, and evil zombies have taken over! Try convincing Malchus of that when he can understand and communicate with them…
The whole world is thrown into chaos as zombies take over and survivors are left to fend for themselves. All they know is that zombies bite and make more zombies. To them, it's shoot to kill and survive.
Not so to Malchus, who has a unique ability to communicate with zombies. They speak, he listens! He attempts to share this knowledge with his fellow survivors only to be shunned by them. Malchus may have bitten off more than he can chew. At least, that is how he feels when he tries to unite zombies and survivors in harmony.
Follow Malchus on his journey as he teams up with some rather unique friends and they embark on his mission. Will he succeed, or will he die trying?
The Journey of Malchus: The Zombie Whisperer Chronicles is a different take on the world of zombies and survivors. It's a post-apocalyptic world being compared to Dark Tower and World War Z.

OMG! I love LOVE zombie books, movies, anything zombie related, this book was no exception. Chandra vividly describes each aspect of this book like you're actually living in the book, zombies and all!
The zombies seemed really realistic! It was so realistic it gave me nightmares! But it was great because it inspired a story in me!
YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS BOOK! ESPECIALLY IF YOU LOVE ZOMBIES!
A whole new take on zombies!! I was pleasantly surprised as I love zombie novels, but can be a bit repetitive. I thoroughly enjoyed this from beginning to end and cannot recommended it enough!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I don’t like zombie movies, but once I picked this up I couldn’t put it down. I feel in love with Lilly with her upbeat heart and love for funny. This is something I would read again
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Chandra breathes new life into the world of zombies by creating a hierarchy of sorts. There's the Wild Ones that are the mindless, typical zombie, living people referred to as Lifers, Dusters that talk garbled but interact with other Dusters, the Night Prowlers that deadly and only come out at night. Then there's Malchus, a guy that has been dubbed crazy and living the life of an outcast because he can talk to zombies and understand them. Life on the road is difficult but he discovers he has more in common with the dead than the living as he makes it a personal quest to bring the living and the dead together, to live in peace. There's plenty action, suspense, and humor that will keep you turning the pages just to see what happens next. I highly recommend this one!
The Journey of Malchus is a great start to a brand new series. I love, love, love the new take/twist on the zombies. It reminded me so much of TV series like Z Nation, The Walking Dead, and Van Helsing. I think The Journey of Malchus is a little bit of all three TV shows rolled into one.
I loved the change in the zombies and there was more than one type or stage of zombies. I am not sure which exactly but it does not matter to me in the least as they are zombies. What an amazingly beautiful world Chandra has created for zombie lovers like myself. A world that I sorely hope to see on the big screen one day soon. I need more zombie TV shows!!!
I so enjoyed following Malchus on his journey and meeting new people/lifers and or zombies/Dusters. Oh, and that is just the beginning of the zombie species. Oh, have I mentioned yet that The Journey of Malchus is by far one of the best zombie books that I have ever read?
Malchus is one of my favorite characters as he can talk to the zombies! If I was a part of this world, the world of the Zombie Whisperer Chronicles I would very much like to be a friend of Malchus. Oh, I like Lily as well as she is so smart, happy, and amazing for someone so young. She just has the best attitude and personality.
The Journey of Malchus definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through anxious to see what the zombies would do next. I could see each and every scene as it was played out. The descriptions were so vividly amazing that they just jumped right off the page into my world. I can’t wait to seek my teeth into the next book, The Retribution of Lilly, book two in the Zombie Whisperer Chronicles.
I definitely recommend The Journey of Malchus to all zombie lovers like myself. One-click your copy of The Journey of Malchus right now and step into a brand new zombie world!
I usually love zombie fiction but this one didn’t really work for me. The premise here was definitely unique with the main character able to communicate with the rather intelligent zombies. It started out strong and I did read the whole book but my enthusiasm waned more and more the further I got into it. Maybe the story moved too fast for me and I didn’t really have time to get invested. I really liked the Lily character though. This read like Young Adult fiction except for the horrifyingly gruesome scenes.

The Journey of Malchus Zombie Whisperer Chronicles Book 1 Chandra Trulove Fry
This was great. A completely different take on the zombie genre. It has humor and laughs, and scary times too. I loved the storyline, and the characters. They were unique, and loveable for some. Others were hateful you wanted to get rid of. All to make a better story. I felt I was in the world with the survivors and the zombies and you are never sure if you can trust. A must read if you love zombie books!!
Absolutely AMAZING! I don't think I have ever got so worked up about a book before. My emotions were so into the characters and the situations as I read them, that I felt like I was actually in the book!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this different take on Zombies. The author did a great job at unique characters and storyline. Really hoping for the story to continue.
A good first book in this very different zombie end of the world series! Completely different! I did like it for this as well as the storyline & characters. An amusing apocalyptic adventure!
