"What makes this book by Sanju Verma, special,is its eye for detail and the in-depth and exhaustive manner in which it elaborates on every single facet of Narendra Modi's economic policies, popularly known as Modinomics, besides tracing the eventual demise of Nehruvian Socialism. She explains why Manmohanomics was never a force to reckon with.In sharp contrast,Modinomics is a powerful idea that has transcended beyond Narendra Modi---it is now a generic idea that stands for everything that is associated with good governance, inclusivity, poverty alleviation and has truly transformed India from an economy of job seekers,to one of job creators. The book answers how Demonetisation unearthed black money, why it is a game changer in terms of formalising large swathes of the informal economy, why ""One Nation One Tax"" via GST, needs to be lauded for its seamless execution, how the ""Mudra Yojana"" has truly empowered over 15 crore aspirational Indians, how e-NAM has empowered farmers and, much more. How Modinomics has laid the foundations for a 10 per cent GDP growth trajectory through innovative and sweeping measures like the Sagarmala and Bharatmala projects and the Insolvency& Bankruptcy Code, have all been analysed and explained in detail, to give readers a flavour of how Modinomics epitomises ""Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas"",in more ways than one. The book also showcases how, thanks to the strategic genius of Amit Shah,BJP is today, not only the largest political organisation in the world with 11 crore members and counting but, also an election winning unstoppable juggernaut that has its eyes trained on Mission 2019 and beyond. The second part of the book which exposes the weaknesses of ""Gathbandhan politics"", is also a stinging critique of the failed ""Raebareli-Amethi"" model and explains why Rahul Gandhi's hope of becoming the prime minister of India, is merely wishful thinking. Since I live in Mumbai, I am familiar with author Ms. Sanju Verma. I often spotted her in the news channels for debates, she is an economist who regularly writes about newspapers and popular websites. So, picking up her book was not a challenge for me, it is easy when the author sounds familiar. Since the book has picture of PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, curiosity better got over me, and now I am done reading with it, I would love to discuss it in the review.
Book Summary:
The description of the book is too long in Amazon. However, to cut it short, I would say it is divided into two parts – Modinomics and Amit Shah. Overall, the book is about the work done by our PM Narendra Modi in his first tenure. The first as it is called ‘Modinomics Unplugged’ takes us into the office of PM. What bold decisions he took with reference to economic and social policies, with an objective of providing good governance to the last possible human of India. Someone familiar with data, stats, have had studied economics will find it easy to understand. However, most of the laymen would understand the second part of the book enticing, one reason is the personal and political journey of Amit Shah, and his contribution in making BJP such a popular party in the world.
More than anything else, to me this book came upon as a reference point or collection of documents to understand the work experience of Modi-led government in last 5 years. I will not say that it, totally, is a political book in its outlook. However, the USP of the book is its data and statistical efforts, using these aspects the author tried to put up the work done or being done by Modi-party is going to be beneficial for our country, especially to poor and ever struggling middle-class. Many might not understand his policies, but in the times to come people will relate the growth of India with of Modi’s PM tenure. There are many chapters in the first part about social and economic policies initiated by Modi. I will not go into much detailing like the author did, but try make a point by saying that India’s GDP growth was good based on the base years of 2010-11, India has recently stood up to sixth largest economy in the world, surpassing France, and policies like Jan Dhan Yojana and Ayushman Bharat are super successful and even many world’s leading organizations like IMF pay heed to all those. Modi is doing great work for the country. And he must keep doing that.
If you want to squeeze fun out of the book, I would suggest you to read and compare development of Gujarat and Amethi. They differ as night from day. Even if the author has not given accounts of the flop episodes of Gandhi family politics, then also this book reaches up to good heights. This book is a perfect reply to anti-Modi narrative, often found in news and social media.
Writing style:
Writing style of the author is really good, owing to her panelist and columnist background. I wonder how did she collect such huge amount of data – that too so accurate. In more than one ways, she is a well-versed economist.
My Perception:
Reading this book changed my perception about the government, and when I ruminated I found that in India roads are getting better, governance is literally good – whether you go for ticket booking or passport or license. Also, the coverage of Pulwama Attack in the book showed us that by replying harshly to the enemies, Modi-led dispensation proved that love for the nation is above all. Though the overall pages in the book are 225, but the gamut of information it leaves around is like Titanic.
Election period, the politics is in air, modi waves! 23rd may!? WHO WILL WIN? Well that occupies atleasy a little part of our day!
But wait you are surely wondering what is Modinomics now? Written by sanju verma, a popular panelist and a columnist.
After a heck of rave reviews from renowned journalists across the country, marking it's authenticity i was very excited to read this
The first part of the book is unplugging Modinomics - It is an elaborated documentation of all the schemes implemented by the BJP in the last 5 years be it economical, societal welfare i.e GST, gujrat model, job creation, GDP growth, digital and make-in India or demonetization or aadhar. All the XYZ yojana in XYZ years and the highlights of how they were helpful to people. It is more of connecting social-economics and Modi. Author has done extreme research and got to the skin of things and has appropriately presented statistical data however lacks the necessary arguments from lay man's perspective. Her painstaking efforts to shed light on controversial contemporary topics are appreciated. She has described major steps taken as bold and necessary!
In the second part, it is described how President Amit shah along with BJP has done good work for betterment of country and how he gave impetus to the minorities, girls and society while also criticising the incompetency of other parties.
Pick this book if you want to study a detailed case study with ultimate statistical analysis on modi regime.
Note - You will need to have some awareness of the developments done in the past 5 years otherwise you might be facing cognitive dissonance while reading this.

I like to read about politics and economics aspects so it was a knowledgable read for me.I got to know about all the working of our Prime Ministers, what all is right and measures done by him. I will suggest this book to all of you, because many people have no knowledge about economics and political aspect of our country and many just criticise them. A good and knowledgable read it was. The book covers all the measures initiated by our Prime Minister. I must say author has done a good search regarding this. A good read. The book answers questions that have often been asked why and how Demonetisation unearthed black money. It attempts to enlighten one about why it is a game changer in terms of formalising large swathes of the informal economy about Goods and Services Tax (GST). If you want to know the inner aspect of how our prime minister worked in these 5 years and what all he did for our country then its a must read for you.
By looking at the cover and picture of NaMo with Amit Shah, I got the feel that it is not an ordinary book. So I was true, yes…written by famous columnist and panelist Sanju Verma, with forwards by the CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, this non-fiction book is high on energy while charting out the plans and policies taken by Modi government in his first tenure as PM. Understanding the work of Modi-led dispensation means getting accustomed to Modinomics. I got the chance to understand the working style of PM Modi, as why he takes bold decision like GST, Demonetization, and much more. Modinomics is working like a remedy for our economy. Poor to low and middle-class people are getting uplifted by various Yojnas and DBDT policies. As the author insisted that one day India will become a job creator from job seeker. I hope that comes during my lifetime. Job debate, light on GDP calculation, beating countries like France, Britain, China; the book is full of good news, as in what India as a country doing and what it can do in the times to come if Modi-led BJP remains in power. Brilliant coverage of Modi-led dispensation. Also, the second part takes a dig of other India which was ruled by dynasty power – Nehru and Gandhi. Why did UPA 1 and 2 fail? You will get the answers in the book. This is the same book which was in light for predicting BJP win in 2019 polls. The second part also talks about Amit Shah story in the politics. Second part was fun to read…
Though I read it slowly, I grasped the major chunk of the book. I heard about this book well before the election results, it is one of the rarest books that already predicted BJP win. For me, this book is like guide, reference, documentary, non-fiction account of PM Narendra Modi’s work, and some great work done by Amit Shah. Those who understand the work of Modi and even those who do not understand, can definitely pick up this book to get more insights about our current government. This book is doing good job by keeping citizens aware of the work the government is doing. I think people should know what is happening via thousands of policies initiated by the government. Personally, under Modi governance has become good, as today if you go for bank account opening, or for passport or license, you get the procedure done in short time with full transparency. It means something has changed, otherwise it was not the case during Manmohan era. We certainly need to appreciate the good things taken and done by this government. I hope this book reaches up to millions of people waiting to hear about Modinomics.
Sanju Verma came up with this book explaining the economic reforms of the BJP led NDA government just in time for this years general elections. The book has a special foreword by the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, with a brief summary of their current government working across various sections of the society and industries. The writer elaborates in detail on the multiple benefit schemes that are currently being run by the Central government and how they have majorly benefited the common people in the country. The book also looks at the governance model of the present government, explaining the advantages in detail.
There are a lot of economic and financial jargon involved, however some chapters can be easily understood by anyone without such background, and some chapters are better understood with some basic knowledge around these concepts. Like the GDP, fiscal, banking details may not immediately be grasped by a person without prior knowledge.
What I liked about the book is the research done by the writer over the past few years that shows in the enormous amount of information shared. The work done by a government across five years and across sectors definitely amounts to huge amount of information and numerical figures and the writer succeeds in presenting these concisely in the book.
However, I wish the writer did not go into comparisons and sarcasm for the opposition party and the past governments, as at times, the narration gets too personal and sounds like a campaign for the current government over the previous ones. Also, the writer should have restricted to presenting facts instead of criticizing the opposition. The moment such a comparison is brought in, the work looks like propaganda even with all the facts justified.
If the reader is neutral towards the current political situation and can ignore the tone of the book in certain chapters, then this book will make for a good read to understand the governance of the country in the past five years and the schemes that indeed worked for the benefit of people below the poverty line.

Truth and Dare: The Modi Dynamic is a book based on Narendra Modi and his achievements during his 5 year term. It's election season here in India and what else could be more appropriate time to read this book. Since this is a political book, it is bound to have political aspects. The author has compared the tenure of Modi government with that of Manmohan Singh's government.
The outstanding Modi years vs Corrupt UPA is one of the major chapter included in the book. The author has also discussed GDP vastly where he explains how the GDP has increased to 7.6 as announced on 31st Jan'19. Despite demonetisation, the trade and business have actually bloomed in his regime. The book also explains Domentisation very efficiently. This complicated topic can be easily understood through this book.
The language is highly official full of datas so it can get a bit tough. But looking at its contents, it is worth a read. The facts and points included in order to explain the topics shows the sheer hardwork that the author has done in writing this book.
I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a credible source to understand the working of Modi government. And what else could be more appropriate time to read it. But even if you read it after 23rd May, you won't be disappointed at all. I bet you'd have a good time reading it.
Truth and Dare ~ The Modi Dynamic is well-researched and well-written book by Sanju Verma. All the policies and steps taken by the Honourable 14th Prime Minister of India, Narendra Damodardas Modi has been elaborately researched and exhaustively penned down by the Author. The Honourable Prime Minister has diligently worked for the nation and almost all the steps take by him are top-notch. From improving and establishing new foreign relationships to Swachh Bharath Abhiyan he has really worked hard for the people of his country. Education, economics, healthcare, agriculture, law, environment, the Honourable Prime Minister has covered all the areas for development. And all this has been written and compared intricately and with such clarity that it shows the mastery the Author has over this topic and how well-versed he is with all the facts. This writing style is lucid and the narration engaging. The language used is simple but the technical terms used might be difficult for few people who aren't interested or have little or no idea about politics and current affairs. Overall it was an enlightening read.
This book takes into account ‘truths’ and ‘dares’ about PM Narendra Modi. I mean since a few months I had been searching insatiably about Modinomics – a term often associated with the economic policies invented or implemented by our PM Modi. Before reading this book, I had all sorts of thoughts for this term, Modinomics. However, after reading it, I must say that now I know what Modinomics is, and how it is working for the betterment of the country? As I got into the first part ‘Modinomics Unplugged’, I began understanding the value of Jan Dhan Yojana, Direct Benefit Transfer, and GDP growth with reference to base years of 2010-11. Yes, the author Sanju Verma has compared a lot Modinomics with Manmohanomics, but that was needed, I think. There are many stand-tall aspects of the book like the way author predicted the win of BJP in 2019 LokSabha Elections, Budget 2019 and how it is going to win the hearts of working population, the rise of BJP under Amit Shah. As much as the first part is focused on Modiji, well equally the second part of the book is focused on the brilliance of Amit Shah and his invincibility. It is an eye-opener book for the people and media talking a lot about Modi-led dispensation, but knowing no facts or stats. All facts and reports are backed by a good amount of data and stats. The presence of data and stats makes this book readable and quite different from other books written on Modinomics or BJP.
It is a very nice book. It is not biased and gives great insight over the development and change in Indian economy and other factors which changed after modi came in rule. At the time of election it is a thought turner and I hope that it will help others to clear the misunderstanding and myths developed by opposition . It is a very short read and is full of facts and figures so no need to think a lot you can go for it...but but but wait for a while if you find it uneasy to read a book full of facts then it might be an issue as there's no good narration and it's nit a story so you might find it little difficult
If u are a political book lover or a general knowledge hoarder this is definitely for u. And even if u are not then also u can read this book as it will give a brief overview of what's happening in our country. The book talks about the several actions that were taken during the current government. It gives u a brief insight rather will make create an alternative mindset. It also briefly discuss about the upcoming plans and programs. The author has done a brilliant job in the research part. The writing style is also very easy. This book is definitely worth your time.
The cover is nice and the title is tricky – ily attractive.
The book has all the hard pressed facts during Modi’s regime which you might wanna eagerly know before casting your prescious vote this election season.
The difference between the former and present PM along with their economic policies is done very well with.
Despite dealing with really tough subjects this book is written in a very lucid language with good vocab.
Whether we are striving towards a better country with a stable economy or not is vivid after you read the book.
I am an avid reader of books and loves to discuss them on platforms like Goodreads, since I do not run any book review blog. Recently, I got hold of this book, Truth and Dare - The Modi Dynamic by Sanju Verma. I got the reference to read this book from my Quora digest. I would like it to all of yours notice that this book is a brilliant document of the work done by Modi-led dispensation over the last five years. All the policies implemented by Modi government have been covered with stats and credible data in this book, which ultimately defines 'what is Modinomics', and why this idea has become so widespread that it is reaching to new heights every day. I think the prime minister office should pay special attention to this book and it should be circulated to BJP party members so that we all remain in the light as what all great work is being done by our current government for the upliftment of citizens. I loved the details associated with each policy. Economic Times and Financial Magazines can have a lot from this book.
The narrative of the book was like 55 vs 55. What Modi-govt. done in 55 months versus what Congress and its allies did in last 55 years. The book is very clear about its intentions and objections - it highlights the work done by the PM Modi driven BJP party, however, the credible factor is that it is high with stats and data. The author has taken pain to do research and record of work from various departments. In fact, many case studies can be built through this book. After reading the book I convinced myself that the current government is better than the previous Congress people, otherwise I always thought that all parties are same. I am glad that the book was able to influence me and somehow convinced too.
It seems like a follower has written about his/her master and tried to impress so that the follower gets a better role in the grand party. The individual characters are already strong and powerful in the country and don’t need a wagging tongue to blow her Horn. It’s again an attempt to impress, sing praises and enjoy a higher position
