The Promise: The Story of Ed and Virginia Jacober

Rate this book
Virgina Jacober was just a young teenager when God gave her a distinct promise accompanied by a clear vision of her future. She could not know then the intricacies of the path that would lead to the fulfillment of the promise.

After 20 years of ministry in India, the Jacobers unexpectedly returned to America. But once more there was a specific promise from the Lord, a promise that would be realized in a most delightful way—but only after a 10-year detour to the Arabs and Bedouins of Israel.

This is a story of sacrificial ministry combined with a perspective on the Arab/Israeli conflict that won't be found on CNN.

Heartwarming

This book was interesting and thought provoking. I found myself considering my own personal testimony of being an evangelists wife of over 30 years both nationally and internationally. I am so very thankful for others that have given their lives to reach far and wide with the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST.

This is another volume in the Jaffray Collection of Missionary Portraits. The author dedicated herself to missions, but found herself in a quandary when as a high school senior, she was introduced to and courted by a man who had already finished college and was working as an engineer in her home town, and didn't feel her call to missions. This book is their story.

They spent 20 years working in India, but had to come home when political conditions and unrest forced their evacuation. They then went to Israel and worked primarily with the Palestinians and Bedouins.

It's a great story of God's leading in their lives, and God's protection over them.

From India to Israel and Back

Once again the sacrifices missionaries make that are from North America pales in comparison to what our LORD JESUS CHRIST gave for us! However, if you’re an American what are you giving up for CHRIST? The Jacober’s gave up the comforts of our culture to go reach the lost in India and Israel. Are you willing to be shunned by your relatives, neighbors, coworkers, or strangers to share with them that they’re sinners headed to eternal damnation unless they repent from their sins, fall on their face before the TRUE and LIVING GOD and follow HIM, no matter the cost? JESUS paid it all!! Hallelujah what a SAVIOR!!

Wonderful Book.

There is much to recommend this book, not the least of which is to see the mighty hand of El Gibbor reveal his ability to fulfill promises.
