Fucking brilliantly dark!
LOVED IT!

And my babe, Lauren (she went by Perry Lovell in this anthology, simply blew me away with the range of talent she showed again, in a masterful storytelling and sharp cut of a pin pointed ending!

BRAVO!!!
her story Run, Rabbit Run, would otherwise sound a bit like a fun, but, trust me, it ain't that kind of thrill you seek! *wink wink*

The other stories were utmost perfectly dark, sespenseful and very well written...and I am definitely going to check out other works by several authors introduced here...

Each story is gripping, different and beautifully dark & twisted.

The Last Dance by James Crow
It's Pitch Black - Mind twisted read, fast paced, gripping and a dark lovers wet dream!

CARBON by Ashleigh Giannoccaro
It's dark, raw, real & an emotional read told in several POV's about the devastating black market of diamond smuggling and human trafficking.

Run Rabbit Run by Perry Lovell
Wow I loved this dark, gruesome and disturbing tale - be careful monsters are often disguised as gentlemen

Black Jack by Michelle Pace
Wow what a twisted tale of unexpected secrets, this storyline is action packed with lots of games played - but who will win the ultimate game.

Sellers by Michelle Brown
This is a hard story to read, so very sad, but also a great dark and realistic story inside the brutal world of human trafficking. I hope Michelle continues this one.

Fancy by Emery LeeAnn
Loved this story, reminded me of ground hog day with a sick dark twist. I would love more to this story to see how far Fancy can go before she breaks or it all ends.

The Difference Between by Kailee Samuels
Mother & Daughters sold into a world of sex slaves, who will survive the choices are brutal and the ending is a shocker!

This review is for The Last Dance by James Crow
I’ll review the other stories as I read them

There are dark stories and then there is The Last Dance by James Crow. This short story plunges the depths of depravity and then some. It’s darker than a dogs guts but also strangely compelling. It’s like driving past a car crash and you know you shouldn’t look, but you can’t help it. Just when I thought James couldn’t get any darker after DARE and HOPE, he proves me wrong. This would make a fantastic slasher movie. Think Texas Chain Saw Massacre meets Hannibal Lecter and Buffalo Bill and you’d be on the right track! It’s definitely not for the faint hearted but if you enjoy being challenged and horrified in equal measure, then this is right up your dark ally! It’s the stuff of nightmares and five gory stars from me

There's sick, twisted, dark, and then there's this! I'm reviewing for The Last Dance by James Crow and I'm left speechless. Never would I have imagined that James could get darker than Hope, but, he did not disappoint. Think of the most hideous thing you've ever read...think of the most hideous movie you've ever watched...I guarantee it doesn't compare. I could not stop reading this no matter how unbelievably sick this is. I was totally engrossed in this read and needed to know what happened. A family of four...perfect, happy, with so much love for one another is the pawn in a sick fuck's game of torturous, sadistic play. Unfeeling, uncaring, and no heart. This is why I can call this brilliant! I've read James Crow's work several times, so I know that his writing is unorthodox and like nothing I've ever read. It takes a genius to be an Author and write stories of love and then write stories that will make your stomach turn. I know this is perplexing, but, in all of it's depravity, this story is solid, well written, and addictive. What do you do when you wake up in unfamiliar surroundings, your family is nowhere to be seen, and there's nothing you can do? What do you do when you're forced to play a game that makes you lose the contents of your stomach? What do you do when no matter how much you cooperate, you know the outcome will be a literal mind fuck? How can I say I loved something like this? Well....read it and thank me later! A 5 Star Short Read!

**I started with Sellers and really liked it so I was excited to read more but ...

1.) SELLERS / Michelle Brown ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Emily has been in a concrete prison for around 5 months and her 18th birthday will be approaching soon if she’s right about how long she’s been held captive. She’s been abducted by a group who impregnates women, steals their babies to sell, then starts the process all over again. They haven’t touched her yet but she knows it will be coming soon. Owen is in charge, his mother (who is called Grandma) helps things run smoothly, and his brother Clyde is the dumb-f**k that does what he’s told. Poor Emily gets the surprise of her life on her 18th birthday when she finds out who else is profiting from this baby-making enterprise.

*I wasn’t happy with the non-ending.

The constant crying of newborns and the incessant screams of pain coming from upstairs fill the minutes when I wake and when they come for her.

2.) HARVEST / Yolanda Olson ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Len has a very unique job, she harvests organs and sells them to people on the black market for a lot of money. She believes love is a virus that infects you and she wants no parts of it. Her boyfriend, Enoch is tired of her secrets and wants her to move in with him. She spends her nights at the Electric Daisy Circus scouting subjects to fill her orders. One night after Enoch complains about her having to go out alone again she invites him to come with her.

*I didn’t like either of these characters, Enoch was a creepy weirdo and Len was a cold bitch. I understand this story is fiction but if you’re gonna write in detail about harvesting organs the author could at least Google it and get something right.

3.) CARBON / Ashleigh Giannoccaro ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Matadi and her younger brother Beya were left all alone when their village was raided by rebels who killed everyone. They are taken to a camp where Beya is forced to work in the pit looking for diamonds and Matadi cooks, cleans, and does whatever she can to keep her and her brother alive. One day a rich handsome man comes to the camp and he chooses Matadi to transport his diamonds. Yves runs the camp and he promised Matadi she would never be chosen so she could stay there and protect Beya. Her life changes dramatically when she leaves the camp with Vincenzo the man who is so enamored by her. This is a story about blood diamonds and human trafficking told from different POV. I had a lot of questions about this one that were never answered and the ending made me confused and furious. Honestly and I know some people will think I’m horrible but I hated Beya.

He didn’t plan to go there and find a jewel more precious than the diamonds they were hauling out of the ground.

“ You are as black as carbon, but as beautiful as the diamonds you will carry for me.”

“ I’m sorry it took so long. I’m sorry you had to hate me before you could love me. “
“ If you’d done it differently, I might not have fallen in love with you, Vinny. I would never have known anything but cruelty. “

It took a long time for her to know what love is, and to understand that she was worth so much more than being hurt or used. Stone was young and innocent, she was uneducated and had no idea about life outside the fences of that camp. I have loved watching her learn and grow, learning to be a woman with virtues and grace. She never lets the cracks show, even now when I made her come back here to her personal hell, she serves me like I’m not a monster.

She forgave me, a long time ago. I wish I could forgive myself.

Every diamond is cut and polished from a raw, ugly stone. Love is the same, it’s never just the shiny surface that everyone can see. Nothing beautiful comes from the easy route, diamonds are formed when the pressure on the outside changes them. Vincenzo was the pressure that changed Matadi from a worthless stone into a precious gem.

4.) FANCY / Emery LeeAnn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Maria Gabriella/Fancy was forced into prostitution at the age of thirteen when her parents died and she was sent to live with her Aunt Lucy. Her aunt hated Fancy’s mom so she is taking it out on her niece. Lucy and her boyfriend Zeke sell Fancy to whoever is willing to pay and let them do whatever they want as they keep Fancy high on drugs.

My sole purpose in life, according to the lecture I hear everyday, is to pay my Aunt Lucy reparations for how my mother treated her. I’m only allowed to service men, and occasionally women, that pay my aunt and her pimp/boyfriend for use of my body.

My name is Fancy. And I am not free, I am used goods.

Review for Carbon by Ashleigh Giannoccaro

I do love this author's dark side and she didn't hold back on this one this book is that told from different POV'S, I don't want to go into details cos the story is short but the story is about diamond smuggling and human trafficking. Really enjoyed this story I am hoping maybe one day for a full book.

I will be updating this as I read each story. This review is based on The Last Dance by James Crow.

I didn’t think James could get any Darker than Hope and Dare but he’s really pushed the boat out with this short story!

It’s as Dark as you can get !!! It’s so dark that the devil himself is shocked!!!

It’s a fantastic read that you’ll never know what’s coming until you’ve turned that final page.

James this was truly one of your best performances so far and I can’t wait to see what the other Author’s have in store for us

I haven't read the other books (yet) so I'll only review The Difference Between.

KRS did it again! She devilishly wrapped the darkest emotions and feelings in a short story full of suspense and twists. The pace is fast, the storyline ruthless and gritty.  It was definitely a read that left me wanting for more; the unique intrigue gripped me to no end. And with and ending like this one I can only scream "Mrs Samuels, give me more, please!"...

The Last Dance by James Crow.
I received with great joy! Perfectly gruesome -this is deliciously twisted, that fed my dark heart! And, I’m now in torment with myself, questioning my own sanity because I found it a thrilling, gripping read that I didn’t want to end.

Black Jack by Michelle Pace
A thrilling story that I didn’t want to end. Isolated in the South China Sea, was a perfect scene for mayhem.

Run Rabbit Run by Perry Lovell
A brilliant griping tale. The terror and thrill of the chase, caused goosebumps and my heart to race!

Sellers by Michelle Brown
Horrendous, chilling situation, which immediately grabbed my attention. A nightmare, cruel and sick subject, was handled with care. It’s certainly a story that will stay with me.

Harvest by Yolanda Olson
I loved Len and her line of work fed my dark heart! In true Yolanda style, this tale delivered a genius twist and just left me wide eyed!

Carbon by Ashleigh Giannoccaro
From start to finish, this captivating story held my mind held hostage. The feels; the dark elements; the different POV’s,
all came together beautifully. A perfect short story!

Fancy by Emery Leann
Be careful what you wish for! Different POV’s paint the scene nicely throughout this dark twisted story and it held my attention throughout. Would love to know more about Fancy and what awaits her next.

The Difference Between by Kailee Samuels
I was able to fully immerse myself in this story. Things aren’t what they seem and wow I so didn’t see that ending!

Well we will neve rknow because that is the fuckery that is Michelle Brown. Love her and hate her for it. You will want the main character to thrive to live to get the fuck out. Life sucks that way. **This review is for Harvest and Black Jack, and will be updated once I've read the rest of the stories**

Black Jack:
An interesting story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. While Michelle Pace has always had darker elements to her story, seeing her embrace it and really run with it is awesome. Definitely a gripping story with an interesting twist!

Harvest:
The Queen of the Twist has done it again!
Enoch and Len are a cool couple, and seem to have it all figured out. But when one invites the other along to get some "work" done, will their relationship be able to handle it? Once you start this one, you won't want to put it down, and then you won't be able to.

This is my review for CARBON by Ashleigh Giannoccaro

Even though this is a short story it sure packs one hell of a punch. Told in multiple POV’s by Matadi, Beya, Yves and Vincenzo. Each character brings their own side to the disturbing existence that surrounds them in the daily struggle of the black market of diamond smuggling and human trafficking.
Ashleigh doesn’t hold back when giving us in graphic detail the hardship the people had to endure and it is because of this that I love this story so much. Ashleigh never disappoints when she lets her dark heart and mind lose on the book world and she always excels. So for a quick heartbreaking, dark, raw emotional read with all the feels then this is for you. Oh and Vincenzo is mine. I liked him first. Lol

I received a copy of The Difference between By Kailee Reese Samuels to review.

I loved this short story. It is everything dark and twisted that I love in that kind of story. This is the story of Eve who has been rescued after seven hundred forty seven days of captivity. She has been taken out of that world, is not with Sal and is encouraged to recount her story. There are some surprising events in this book and it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved it so much. I was so into the story that I was so sad to see it end. Kailee Reese Samuels can write absolutely amazing dark stories that will have you begging for more. I so can not wait for more of this story. I am so invested already in Eve and her story and just have to know what is going to happen. The even more exciting part is we get a new Kailee Reese Samuels book to look forward to.

As this is a anthology I will review each story as I read them.

The Last Dance by James Crow.

I love to read dark books and I love all books written by James Crow so this books was a must read for me and The Last Dance is by far the darkest I've ever read (I might need therapy) not because of how dark it is but because I loved it, I didn't want it to end.
Pops and his offsprings are messed up in the most unique way, I would love to know more about them, I'm invested as much as I'm interested in them (James I need more) hopefully the author isn't done telling their story...fingers crossed.

This is the first story I've read in this anthology and I'm excited to read the others.

What a trip! My mind is overwhelmed with all of these stories. A warning, it is disturbing, violent and horrific. Not all of the stories fall under those terms but heed the warning. If blood and cruelty to women, or people in general, bother you I suggest trying another anthology. I received a copy from Michelle Pace, author of the first book, and was excited to read it. I follow her work and this was completely different from her normal style, I loved it. Black Jack was edgy and suspenseful with a powerful heroine. Each story has a different path around human trafficking and each, unfortunately, seem very realistic. I read it in two days, the stories had me gripping my tablet and rooting for the good guy/girl, they don't always win. My review was given voluntarily.

What did I just read?!?

I knew going in that this was going to be a hard topic. I knew it was going to mess with my mind. I guess, I had hoped that there would be some light at the end of the tunnel. Trust me when I say there wasn't. Definitely no happy endings. This was horror through and through.

I guess I found my hard limit when it comes to Dark. There has to be the possibility of hope or redemption. That being said, still a fabulous bunch of authors.

The Sellers by Michelle Brown.
In true Michelle style she has left us with a book that leaves you Mind F#@ked.
Poor Emily Reynolds finds herself in the most disturbing situation, praying and hoping for someone to come to her rescue.
This book shows the ultimate betrayal, and will keep you on your toes, trying to guess the outcome.
I seriously can't wait for more and hope for a full length novel of this one.

“The constant crying of newborns babies and the incessant screams of pain from upstairs…”

Sellers, where suddenly you will fall in a dark nightmare, where you want to read and know everything and at same time you want to save them from that mad world from Miss Brown twisted mind.
This time she go over to edge, but you will want to meet Emily,Clive and Owen.

Review of The Sellers by Michelle Brown.

She is the queen of twisted tales in my opinion. She gives you just enough dirty to make you love it. There is no sweet in this story from her, but that's what has you hooked! I can't wait to see if she takes this story anywhere after this and to see what these other authors have in store!

(This review is for HARVEST specifically, more will come when more are read!)

At some point in time, many moons and WTFs ago, I deemed it impossible to predict the outcome of Yolanda Olson's stories because, quite frankly, I got tired of being wrong.

HARVEST was absolutely no exception, given that I didn't even try to guess the ending and I was still blown away.

There aren't even words to describe what takes place in this tale.

It's what happens when you take someone dedicated to their craft and introduce them to an infectious passion that makes them even more determined to do their best.

Not to be missed!!

Full disclosure I’ve only read 1 story so far, Harvest. I’ll update this when I’ve read the rest of the stories.
Len and Enoch where do I start? Well Len procures things for people. There’s a lost of things still needed. Of course things don’t go as plan and decisions need to be made and once they’re made there is no going back!
The seriously twisted twists will definitely keep you guessing what’s about to happen.

Dark and Twisted Tales

This group of authors each bring their own unique style of darkness in each of these stories.
The one that really got me was James Crow's contribution.
Brilliantly dark.
