Derek is a druid/wolf hybrid type shifter that is in serious trouble with all the pressure from his family. And after coming home with the accident of his bother, he has even more pressures. He has a real need to be “himself” and free of responsiblity. But he also has to realize that he has to be there for them too. And now he has Rose.

Rose is a witch and lives with her “Community”. She is learning that what she always believed wasn’t necessarily true, and that’s even more hard as it’s from someone you love and trust. She also has some serious trouble happening with her power. It’s all going to come down to can she get those powers under control and can those around her forgive her, and can she forgive herself, for what her powers have caused.

You know I love secondary characters, and Ocean is totally awesome!! She is totally my favorite in the story. And you won’t expect the bad guy! And the end!!! Yep, there’s a big ole cliff hanger. So it’s a good thing I’m reading it now, and book two is coming out!!

Rose and Derek are hot and heavy quickly, but can it last with their families always fighting and hating each other? You know I’ve seen this be considered a Romeo and Juliet type story, and I do see some similarities, but it’s so much cooler! I’m all about hot supernaturals I really enjoyed this story and will be continuing this series! 4.5 STARCROSSED PAWS from me I liked the starcrossed bit LOL!

i won't be finishing this book or the series it comes from. Started with the typical teen angst and mismatched witches vs. werewolf (or any other supernatural species) romance. But to make the bad character murder puppies to show how bad she is? Really, that's just sad writing. There's more, but what's the point. I won't read more of this drivel.

Cliche star-crossed lovers: a quick, flat read

When I purchased this ebook, I believed it would be a good romance. But of course, you get what you pay for when it's free.

At first, I thought the quotes from "Romeo and Juliet" were coincidental. After five chapters, I knew where this was going. Ignoring the predictable plotline, the author failed at creating a subplot. That makes this about one and a half plots.

Only two characters are round. Ocean is the only other character who had a chance to be round, but her rebelling against the coven was already in her personality.

I can live with Derek and Rose falling in love at first sight. I can't live with the sudden sexual activity. This does not take place in Vegas. For Rose's growing up sheltered, that moved much too quickly. She didn't even seem to have a rebellious streak before then. Worse, when Rose admits and realizes that her mother is using her, she does nothing to stop it. She never fought back.

Rainbow and Blake also need to get a grip. Their plotting will end badly for everyone except Rainbow. She's evil.

I don't recommend this book. I find it annoyingly cliche and flat. I refuse to read the rest of the trilogy and will delete this book from my library immediately.

Full disclosure: I received this book as a First Read Goodreads giveaway, but that in no way affects this review.

This is the first in a The Seduced Saga, a trilogy, written by a husband and wife team. It is a paranormal romance based on Shakespeare's play, "Romeo and Juliet," with Rose and Derek as the star-crossed lovers.

Rose is a witch; Derek is a shape-shifting Druid, and unbeknownst to them, their families are at war especially after Derek's younger brother is destroyed by the powerful touch of Rose. That event brings Derek back into his family's fold, and he meets Rose.

While their love may be innocent, the behind-the-scenes machinations of family and friends could be their downfall. Although the story can stand on its own, there is a cliff-hanger ending that begs to complete their story.

A few typos and misused words can be found, but overall, for those who enjoy paranormal romances, they should be able to overlook them.

I don't know how or when this ended up on my Kindle, as I don't remember buying it, but I saw it on there one day and decided to give it a try. The most surprising part of this all, is that I finished it.

To be fair, I was at least a little intrigued by the story. I wanted to know what was going on between the two warring supernatural factions, and the main character seemed sheltered enough that I wanted to see how she would learn to stand on her own.

Instead, I got characters who aren't true to their characterizations, and a random sex scene for the sake of having a sex scene. ()

The book also suffers from lack of a climax (no pun intended) and ending, which is very unfortunate, as I'm not interested in reading the next one, just to find out how this one should have ended.

Im wavering between 3 and 4 stars.....

I loved aspects of the book, other parts came across a bit too predictable.

The way its written......

The whole story in general, the references and ties to Romeo and Juliet were subtle but i really enjoyed how it worked its way in and throughout the story.

The chemistry between Rose and Derek, was good, could have been better..... i think the fact she kept running away all the time ruined it a bit and the fact Derek never really questioned her odd behavior was a little unrealistic especially considering he comes from a line of shifter/druids.

The biggest misunderstanding i had in this was Derek Picking Rose up dropping her off.... and not knowing that was the coven's land, considering past relations between the two families and the fact the coven are walking distance to the Druids (Blake spying on them twice by foot), and the fact Derek wants to attack them..... I thought that would have been a huge giveaway to who Rose was associated with......

These little inconsistency's ruined it for me.....

But i will carry on with the next book as we are left with a obvious cliffhanger and i want to see what happens with the characters.......

This book is about star crossed lovers from two families with a feud or bad blood between them, like Romeo & Juliet. In fact each chapter begins with a quote from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Rose is from a family or coven or witches that her mother runs. Derek, is from a family of druids that also shape shift into wolves. They begin to fall in love but Rose has no idea that Derek is connected to the druids that she has been told keeps attacking her coven. And Derek has not idea that she is from the coven of witches that keeps attacking them. He certainly doesn’t know that she is the one who put his brother in a coma. This ends with a cliff hanger. To find out what happens next, you have to read the next book in the series. It's an interesting coming of age, star crossed lovers story, with paranormal elements.

I liked most parts of the book and felt they worked well except for the out of nowhere just met and now going to spend a week together vacation and the big sex scene. Why did you have to go all Fifty Shades? Fifty Shades has ruined the romance genre. Ugh. Do something tasteful or go home! And this was especially bad since Rose was supposed to be this really, really, really sheltered virgin. Ok. That said, I still want to know what happens but don't want to pay the current price, especially if there are going to be more smutty sex scenes. So for right now, probably won't be buying it. I wish the vacation and the sex had been edited out and left for at least the second book. Timing is everything.

4.5 out of 5 stars

It was an amazing book, I wasn't able to put it down. I have really enjoy the different POV, it's giving a deep to the story. It was like a modern twist of Romeo and Juliette and I really liked it.

It has a big cliffhanger ending, and I'm looking forward to read the sequel!

Whoa

This was a great story but so different. Her mother is using people so bad. Everyone in the "community" is either stupid or naive. Liked the book and suspense of the story.

I was disappointed in Seduced by Innocence by Kimberly Kinrade. Don't get me wrong, the storyline is good, but it isn't a stand alone book. You can't read it and then go on to the next book in the series and read a totally different stand alone book. No, you have to go on to the next book to find out more about what happens in the romance and storyline of this book. Annoying.

Also, pet peev, there are spelling errors throughout, site for sight, and leant for lent, immediately come to mind - site for sight happens a lot - on average there is one spelling error for every six chapters you read, which from my point-of-view is unacceptable. If you are going to put your work out for public consumption it should be your best work, and while the storyline is excellent the editing needs work. Get better beta-readers who will catch your mistakes.

Will I read the next book in the series? Probably so I can find out what happens in the romance from this book. Will I be ticked at buying a book I was essentially tricked into having to buy instead of choosing for myself because I like the author? Absolutely, and what's sad is that even with the spelling errors Ms. Kinrade tells a good story and has great technique. I would have read her next book on the basis of that and I personally would have preferred to wait a little longer, paid a little more and been able to buy the whole series as one book, than be tricked into book after just to find out what happens, because guess what, the story doesn't end at book 2, it goes on for at least one more book before we find out what happens to out romance and our main characters. Rip off.

Kimberly never ceases to amaze me and this book was no exception. Seduced buy Innocence is the first book in the Seduced trilogy. It tells the tale of Rose, a young witch with a deadly power. She lives a very sheltered life, at the discretion of an overbearing coven leader who also happens to be her mother.

Luckily, she has a fiery best friend named Ocean (ironically Ocean has water power) who encourages Rose to begin to break family bonds and explore the world. Though Ocean, Rose meets a sexy vagabond-turned-martial-arts-instructor.

Rose and Derek are immediately drawn to one another. And there relationship heats up quickly. But Derek belongs to a powerful Druid family, a family at odds with Rose's coven. Family secrets and hidden motives threaten to tear them apart.

Kinrade skillfully weaves every emotion into the story. At points, I found myself swooning and a few pages later had tears streaming down my face. Anyone who is a fan of star-crossed lovers needs to read this book. Thankfully, there is more to come because the ending had me screaming at the book.

I really enjoyed this first story in the Rose trilogy. While it definitely had a Romeo and Juliet feel (complete with quotes), it had some stinkin' cool paranormal elements in it that made it fresh. It also had some pure evil and I do so love evil in my Paranormal. Sunshine and roses are great, but sometimes you need a little darkness in your reading. I am a sucker for people who dream of each other before they meet, so the first chapter had me hooked. Rose and Derek have an immediate connection and I am excited to see where their story goes from here (I do hope it ends happier that R&J). I will admit that once I finished it the first thing I did was scream, "Arggggggg" because it is a three part story and I wanted the whole thing tied up in a pretty bow. That being said, part two is already out, so I do not have to wait long to read it. I am really looking forward to the rest of this trilogy.

Maybe this shouldn't be the first (and by implication, most important) part of my review, but this book and its sequels were lousy with English usage errors. It was very hard to enjoy the story when all this copy-editing was going on in my head as I went along.

As to the story: it was meant to be a modern-day paranormal Romeo and Juliet, but it wasn't really written that well, so the parallels seemed a little presumptuous, to me. The story was -- I guess -- compelling enough that I read the two sequels after all. (I ended up wishing I hadn't, but I'll get to that in my reviews of those books.)

One thing this book does have going for it is the paranormal universe it sets up makes sense -- the characters and events consistently follow the rules of that universe.

Anyway, if you're at all a grammar nerd, just steer clear. The first two books are cliffhangers, so it isn't easy to just quit reading; better just to not start.

First off the story ended incomplete. I understand wanting to make some money by making a series but at least finish a storyline in the first book, and leave a cliffhanger for a new drama to get people to get the 2nd. So It loses a star for that alone.

The story itself was interesting. Lots of potential there.

The delivery ... Lots of Romeo and Juliet references, so I've resigned myself to the real possibility that the 2 lovers will die. *Sigh* If not then why reference it?

I found myself skimming through many babbling parts to get to the meat of the story. I hate that.

The tempo is weird in the book. You have rich opulence and hoitie toitie literature references but then crass sexual reference. I'm fine with both, but together it was a little shocking I guess.

All in all .... despite the interesting story matter, it annoyed me.

On a side note .... Whats with all those witches names? UGH! LOL

From the first paragraph to the last punctuation mark, I was hooked. Ms. Kinrade knows how to weave a story that leaves you craving for more. With well written words, I was able to feel what the characters felt and experience what they experienced. I feel distrust for certain characters and anger at some others. I felt the heartbreaking grief of losing a friend. And the rush of falling in love. This book will cast its spell over all who read it! The next in this series cannot get here too soon! Well done, Ms. Kinrade!!!

I loved this book. It was well worth the wait and can't wait for book 2, Seduced by Pain to come. There is mystery and steamy sex (or not)...you have to read it to find out what I am talking about. I hate reading spoilers or too much in a review. Thoroughly enjoyable from the first to the last page which kept me interested and reading til I finished it in one sitting. I just love the books by Kimberly including her children's books. Kimberly Kinrade

Unfortunately, I am one of those people who have to know how a story ends. Seduced by Innocence was free, I believe, but Seduced by Pain seems a little pricey for the length. I must admit I am a little uncomfortable with the language and sex, considering the target audience, but I was reading erotica in college so I guess I am feeling my age.
Rose and Derek's story shows promise, but Rose got on my nerves a little. She seemed more sexual than I would expect a very sheltered 19 year old to be. I was not happy with the fate of Sandy and her puppies.

I stumbled across this book on the second page of the kindle store when I searched New Adult. I knew from the first page that I had stumbled on something worth reading. I loved the whole book and I can not wait to start the second. I found the voice to be clear, easy to follow and very natural. I felt engaged and loved the characters. I would have never guessed that Karpov Kinrade were a married team. I think that is so cool, especially because it reads like it was written by just one talented author, not two and because I think that is super romantic!

Rose's story is eventful to say the least! I just couldn't put the book down. The ups and downs Rose goes thru, my heart feels for her like I was right there with her. The blossoming love between her and Derek, like it was meant to be. Or is it? Guess you will have to read the book to find out! I can't say enough about Seduced by Innocence and Kimberly Kinrade work. Excellent Author! Anyone that loves a book with a good story and romance will love this book!

This book has two great characters in Rose and Derek. There is a lot of mystery and action and some great steamy scenes. This book was so well written that I could not put it down.I was hooked from the beginning with Rose's dreams about this mystery man. I loved her finding him and seeing where it would lead. This is some great writing and now ready for the next book.

I don't like any book that kills off animals. One of the main characters was mean and sadistic which is a big turn off for me. In addition, there was no closure to the story and after I bought the ebook I found out it is the first part of three books which then makes a whole book. I will be using the local library more often after this. This book was complete rubbish and a rip off.
