Fine book for a very general overview of Western history. It contains a few historical inaccuracies and claims that should really be more nuanced. The visual pronunciation after every non-English name or word was also distracting. Arguably the biggest criticism would be its Western-centric focus, though it does sometimes include non-Western perspectives. Still, this is to be expected from a book with this name.

It's a textbook, so it's not going to read like a novel. However it's very comprehensive and quite pleasant to read through.
I decided to purchase a copy after my class ended to do some further reading on my own. It's my primary source for Western European history.

Thomas Noble and his co-authors have done an excellent job at writing a complete synthesis of European history.

Standaard geschiedenisboek. Niet te makkelijk en ook niet te moeilijk. Afbeeldingen geven een goed beeld net al de kaarten. Toch hadden sommige hoofdstukken van mij wat uitgebreider mogen zijn.
