Sophie Nouveau ventures to faraway Malaysia to seek answers about why her true love, Taj, broke up with her and returned to his homeland. When she gets there, she realizes something has been haunting Taj’s kid brother. But is it mental illness or black magic?
While Sophie’s a world away, a customer claims she is poisoned by a potion from Seraphina’s House of Voodoo. As a result, the FDA shuts down Sophie’s shop pending an investigation into the incident. So she rushes back to New Orleans only to realize a traitor is at the root of all this bad mojo. That person, who’s in cahoots with Dr. Bones, wants to usurp the title of Voodoo Queen from the Papillon family line forever.

Camille Faye does it again! I received an ARC of this book and absolutely loved it. Her writing grabs the readers attention from the beginning and doesn't let go. I like how she recaps what happened in the previous book at key points without painstakingly going through every detail. I can't wait for the next one. I highly recommend this book and the Voodoo Butterfly series!
Flight is the third book in the Voodoo Butterfly series, and it really must be read as a series rather than a set of standalones.
We start off in Malaysia, as Sophie has travelled there to figure things out with Taj once and for all. Once there she realises things weren't as simple as she thought, although to be fair, it was quite clear to the reader just what was going on! 😁 Still, it made for a thrilling read, especially with the added bits of Sophie learning as she goes along. I do so love Marie and the witticisms she gives to Sophie.
The details given are, quite simply, amazing. I can only imagine the amount of research this series has taken but it is worth every moment. Yolanda was a bit too obvious for me so I can't say as I was surprised with that turn of events but even so, I still enjoyed how it was written.
This is an amazing series that just gets better with each book. I love the depth and history of each story and how they interlock with each other. I will always be #TeamJacques, but I guess I can see how Taj fits into the picture. 😉
All in all, a brilliant book in a fantastic series that I most definitely recommend. Can't wait for the fourth!

ONE EARTH QUAKING LANDSLIDE!!! Unforgettable! Camille not only brought it, she wiped the realm in it, batten down the hatches and weather the storm, bringing out the heavy artillery, locked and loaded, blasting this bad boy to life spectacularly. Lines blur and boundaries crossed, limitations are stretched and bent, booting this bad boy forward, kicking it into overdrive, slamming it into a tailspin with an intoxicating culmination. Coiled, twined and tightly woven, showcasing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's simplicity and awe-inspiring in it's depth. Anarchy runs rampant and havoc is rife, rolling out the drama, turmoil, intrigue, danger, spiraling suspense and intense situations, along with a double dose of deception while dodging calamity, you have one intoxicating masterpiece. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow, transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Camille, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
Book 3 did not disappoint me at all.. The book has Sofia traveling to Taj's homeland Malaysia to find out why he left New Orleans so suddenly with no explanation. She gets there to find out the Taj's brother is sick but she quickly learns that they are dealing with something supernatural. Meanwhile, her shop is in danger of being shut down in New Orleans because a customer gets sick from drinking one of the potions sold in the shop. As the story progresses you find out this is not some random act by an ignorant customer but it's part of a bigger plan to stop Sofia from becoming the next Queen of Voodoo of New Orleans. There are a few twists and turns in this book but it's very engaging from beginning to the end. I'm interested to see how this story concludes in book 4.
On the Third of the Series and They Keep Getting Better!
I was not expecting too much when I read the first in the series, Voodoo Butterfly, then Emergence, and now Flight. This author is incredible and story will keep you reading compulsively like a spell from Sophie’s House of Voodoo. I love the characters, the placement and the fact that Ms. Faye does her homework with actual practitioners giving her sound research information that makes her books so well written. No AI generated crap here. I can’t wait to read the next one!
I cannot believe it's over. I've submerged myself into reading this last book in the series, and now it's over. I'm sadden by this because it was amazing. The things that Sophie goes through to become queen is just wild. There is so much to say about this series and all the characters and the wonderful storyline. Camille Gaye is now one of my all time favorite authors and I would most definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes magic. Superb writing❤❤❤❤
I really tried to like this series but I just can't. It reminds me of Twilight and the love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob. The main characters whine non stop, they're rude and immature. 3 books in and they're only getting worse. So much emphasis is put on Sophie's love life and less about the voodoo that it's not interesting in the least. I wish I had never wasted time reading any of these.
Another gripping installment in Sophie's story. It further explores and develops important relationships, addressing fears and insecurities related to those relationships. It sucked me in so very quickly that I was almost late for work because I didn't want to quit reading. I CANNOT WAIT for this story to continue!!
Loved this series of books! Found the characters relatable and was sucked in with the storyline within the 1st paragraph of the 1st book. I usually try to avoid series or trilogies because I lose interest after the 1st or 2nd book; not so with these! I would highly recommend this series!
When I read Camille Faye's first book Voodoo Butterfly, I was very skeptical - not thinking I would like it (dealing with paranormal & all). With a blend of Christianity, Voodoo & Black Magic, Camille has done it again. She draws you in & you are hooked. Love her characters & the multifaceted story lines. Each book leaves you wanting more.
This was such a great book, I absolutely loved it!! The book sucked me in from the beginning and never let go. The Voodoo Butterfly series just keeps on getting better and better and is a must read for sure!!😀HUGE CUDOS TO CAMILLE FAYE!!!
I loved all three of these books. Sophie and her legacy has made for an intriguing story. And bringing in her ancestors was a stroke of genius. I cannot wait for more adventures!
Mesmerizing tale of coming out and spiritual awakening. Well fought battles and powerful warriors. Delightful romantic encounters and surprising antagonists. WHEW! Got me holding my breath in anticipation.
Great, easy read...such an enjoyable break in my week to read about faraway travels & exotic food. I love the intrigue, mystery, and romance all mixed in as well. My favorite element, though, is the way Sophie finds her place & her unique position in this world.
