“He’d never believed in fate or destiny, but after that night, he couldn’t help feeling like they’d met for a reason. Their story was only just getting started…..”
The Story of Us is the 11th book in the Sweetbriar Cover Series, but can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone novel. Natalie came to Sweetbriar Cove in the hopes of forgetting her past and starting over. With the little bit of inheritance she has, she opens the candy store of her dreams. She’s determined to go all in with this fresh start. She doesn’t want any drama or complications…..Natalie isn’t the only one seeking a fresh start in Sweetbriar Cove. Luke also has a past he can’t wait to move on from. The last thing he planned on was falling head over heels in love. But, the moment he set his eyes on Natalie, he felt a pull unlike any other. She’s different from the women he’s used to and that makes the pull even sweeter. Natalie tries to resist Luke, but the heat between them is too hot to ignore. Will Natalie take a chance and open her heart up to love again? Or will her past catch up to her and turn her world upside down? There’s only one way to find out…
The Story of Us is a fantastic addition to the Sweetbriar Cove Series. Natalie and Luke were so easy to fall in love with. Both of them had just come out of a relationship and looking for a fresh start. Their chemistry was sizzling and a force to be reckoned with. I loved how even though their attraction was fierce and instant, they took their time getting to know one another. Luke knew that Natalie had been hurt before and was willing to take things as slow as she needed them. I loved watching these two try to figure things out and see Natalie open up about her painful past.
Natalie and Luke’s road to happily ever after wasn’t always an easy one. Natalie understandably had some baggage that she had to deal with. And as with any story, the past always has a way of catching up with us. I loved seeing how strong Natalie had become over the course of her story. She had more strength than she ever thought possible and wasn’t about to let her past ruin her future.
The Story of Us is a wonderful second chance romance. It’s filled with lots of sweetness, steam and friendship. I love how tight knit the community of Sweetbriar Cove is. Once they let you in, you belong forever and the members of the community will make you feel like family and will have your back when you need it the most. The Story of Us hit all the marks for me. It did have a little more drama than some of the other books in this series. That being said, the drama was perfectly laid out and made me love these characters all the more for it.
The Story of Us captured my heart from beginning to end and was a fantastic story to spend my day getting lost in. I fell head over heels for Natalie and Luke and fell even deeper in love with Sweetbriar Cove.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
The Sweetbriar Cove series continues with the 11th installment (#2 Kinsella). Melody takes us on a journey of heartbreak and love with Luke and Natalie. This book is amazing and well written and a fast read. I could not put it down. Once i started reading it i did not stop until i was finished.
They met months prior and Luke couldnt get Natalie out of his mind and when he runs into her again by chance he is taken aback when she doesnt remember him. So he makes it his mission to get to know her and get close to her. Natalie likes Luke but is scared of her past and her ex Oliver finding her. Join Melody as she takes us on a journey and see if Natalie is brave enough to tell her past and see if she can let love in again, or does Oliver find her and take her back home.
Wow Natalie and Luke are sizzling. I love how they met and then they fast forward to meeting again. The attraction was very hot. I liked how Natalie tried to resist Luke’s charm and hotness but in the end couldn’t. I enjoyed the Oliver drama and how it made Natalie who she was. The family around Sweetbrier is amazing and they make everyone welcome and loved. That’s one of the best things i love about this series. I really did enjoy each story but Natalie and Luke’s are one of my favorites with the drama and heart ache to turn around and end with a HEA!!! This was well written and such a great read!!!!
The Story of Us by Melody Grace is book 2 in the Kinsella Family and the 11th book in the Sweetbriar Cove Series. I loved this sweet book. Not just because our heroine owns a chocolate shop, but because our hero Luke just melts my heart. His chance meeting with Natalie months before altered his life path. He’s back home in Sweetbriar Cove and wants nothing more than to make Natalie a part of his life. She has a painful past that she’s trying to erase, and is having a hard time letting Luke in. I fell for Luke right along with Natalie and I know you will to. I wanted to scream when everything seemed to unravel, but rest assured you will be smiling in the end.
A sweet holiday read with heart melting romance that makes you want to sigh with pure happiness and longing!
The Story Of Us is a splendid story that brought me cheer and gave me plenty of feels. Luke and Natalie are unforgettable characters and their chemistry simmered beautifully. The way the story progressed made it an easy book to follow and an enjoyable one at that. Very nicely done!
Reading these stories is like reading a Hallmark movie with a touch of sexy and I just can’t get enough!!! I adore this series, adore the characters and have a strong urge to move into a small town and live my happily ever after. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Whether this is your first step into Sweetbriar Cove or your 11th you won't be disappointed with 'The Story of Us'. As the song goes 'If you fall/I will catch you/ I will be waiting.....' Luke is that guy who not only catches but is patience enough to wait. Enjoy
Natalie has come to Sweetbriar to make a fresh start; to do this she has had to change her name to ensure that her ex boyfriend Oliver doesn't find her; did he hit her? No, what he did do was make her feel that she was worthless, that nobody wanted her only him; everytime she tried to do something he would belittle her but in such away that all their friends and family thought he was a great guy and it was all Natalie's fault. The only person who ever believed her was her Deann who had seen through Oliver right from the start and could see he was grooming Natalie to be the next Stepford Wife!
Luke (Brother of Jackson who also has his own book in the series) has returned home to Sweetbriar after the break of his long term relationship and from the first moment he meets Natalie he knows that he wants her but Natalie wants to take it slow after her break up with Oliver and starting her own business she needs to feel in control. Luke is happy to take things slow and the two spend time getting to know each other; soon Luke has convinced Natalie to give them a chance but Oliver isn't going to give up that easily and when he finds out where Natalie is life gets a hold lot harder for her. Will her friends back her up or will Olivers sweet talking make them believe everything is in her head - can she win back Luke or will Oliver come out the victor.! The only way to find out is to read the book.
I would give this book 6 stars if i could!! This is the type of book that makes me regret giving other books such high ratings cuz THIS is the perfect example of a perfect book. You have a girl who comes to this small town and legally changes her name for a fresh start because she ran away from her emotionally abuse and manipulative ex. She opens a chocolate shop and is super successful. This hot small town boy immediately falls in love with her (they met at a party a few months prior and it was love at first sight but then they didnt see each other again until the chocolate shop and it was immediate butterflies when they recognized each other). However miss girl wasnt ready to fall in love again cuz of her abusive ex so she tries to resist this new guys charms (unsuccessfully). you see them go from friends to more and then friends again etc. Her ex even finds her at one point and that takes her progress back as she realizes she can’t love this new guy properly cuz of all her baggage. Its really wholesome how good of a listener this new guy is and how he helps her work through her trauma by giving her space and truly being a good friend with no hidden agendas. i loved seeing everyone in the small town come together and really help this girl- i love the small town sense of community and charm. im a sucker for happy endings so im really glad it ended so well. the epilogue is so cool because it foreshadows the next story which is about the guys younger sister. honestly such a great read and i did not expect it to be this good!!!!
This book had a more in-depth story than the others I have read in this series...and I really liked it. Abusive relationships aren't always physical and the strong lead character really showed her strength throughout this book.

Loved Natalie & Luke's story! It was heartfelt and beautifully written! I love the town of Sweetbriar Cove, I wish I could live in a small town like that. Their chemistry is sweet & definitely hot! I enjoyed their journey!
Be prepared to fall in love with the comings and goings of Sweetbriar Cove, and whether you have read the previous books in the series or not, just are going to be knocked on your a$$ by the delicious Luke and Natalie romance.
Natalie is new to the cove, escaping an ex that has left her not only looking for a fresh start but also willing to change her identity. Now, as the author started to unravel the situation between Natalie and her ex Oliver, I quickly came to despise the man, he was a narcissist, nothing she did was good enough for him, he was smart about his abuse, clever enough to convince almost everyone that he was sweetness and light when in fact he was emotionally cruel and manipulative. I don’t blame her for ditching his sorry soul and striking out on her won, I only wished she didn’t feel the need to have to hide from him.
Luke was back in the cove after his relationship nosedived, it may have been years in the making but it was over in the blink of an eye and he was in desperate need to regroup…the last thing he wanted was a new relationship but darn it the minute he clapped eyes on Natalie he was willing t jump right in, the only issue was that Natalie wasn’t in any mood it join the rush.
They took things steady for a while, the pair of them spending time getting to know each other but the past wasn’t done with her yet and Oliver was up to his old tricks…would she fall for it all again?
The chemistry between the two of them was sizzling, and I loved the ride between the two of them took me on, they were a fabulous pair to spend time with
Fantastic storytelling this was written beautifully and hard to put down
This is book #11 in the Sweetbriar Cove series you can read as a standalone or part of the series, I highly recommend starting at book 1 and reading all of them so you meet all of the other characters and they are all captivating. This is a lovely warm romance between Natalie and Luke. The title is very fitting for the story.
Natalie has just run away from her abusive past, changed her name and started afresh in Sweetbriar Cove opening a candy store, not looking for love, just wanting to survive, until she met Luke again, they had met months earlier but she didn't remember at first, she tried to keep Luke at arms length as just Friends even though she was attracted to him, how long can she keep it up?
Luke Kinsella had just come out of a long relationship and moved back to Sweetbriar Cove to start his business again, not looking for another relationship until he saw Natalie and he knew from the start that she was the one, but he took it at her pace, as friends at first, hating whoever had hurt her so badly.
Everything is going fine till her past catches up with her, what will be the best thing for her to do?
Once again Melody didn't disappoint, another book set around Thanksgiving and Christmas on the Cove, with all the festivities, it was nice to see all the other characters from the other books featuring a lot in the book, the writing is so good you think you are there celebrating with them, or wish that you were. 5 stars are not enough for this book! I cant wait for Cassie and Wes book next.
The Story of Us started out with how Natalie & Luke met in the past, then fast forwarded to the present. She's come to Sweetbriar Cove to start over, and get away from her heartbreaking past, to start her own candy store. However, she keeps running into Luke, and the sparks start flying all over the place. She tried to keep her walls strong enough to withstand the super sexy Luke, who she had a deep attraction to, but she has some baggage which makes her a bit gun shy. That past provide twists that had the f-bombs dropping, as her ex Oliver provide suspense & drama in this story. The secondaries were amazing, and only added great things to this already amazing story, and made me want to take a vacation to Sweetbriar Cove. There's big heartache as Natalie navigates her way through her fresh start, and doing her utmost to resist Luke, and trust me, he was a mouthwatering HOT hero with his own baggage. So, does Natalie take a chance on something amazing with Luke?! You'll have to one click on this story to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
I love my visits to Sweetbriar Cove and Natalie and Luke’s story is a great addition to one of my favourite series. This author has a knack of making you feel part of this tight knit community that resides in Sweetbriar Cove. Natalie and Luke have met before but when their paths cross again Luke is shocked that she doesn’t remember him because he hasn’t been able to get her out of his mind. What happens next is a man on a mission as Luke does everything in his power to get close to the girl of his dreams but before that can happen Natalie needs to open up and tell Luke about her past with her ex....... This book has all the feels, it has the perfect mix of love and drama , it’s about a couple turning headache into their HEA, it’s well written and it will captivate you from the first page to the last line. Great addition to a great series and I highly recommend it to all lovers of small town romance.
Melody Grace definitely didn’t disappoint with this 11th addition to her Sweetbriar Code series. The Story of Us is the discovery of love and learning to trust between Natalie and Luke. Though they’ve both had failed relationships leaving them uncertain, they felt the flow of chemistry upon their first meeting. But for Natalie, it was a long road to letting go of ghosts of the past and allowing Luke to melt the walls she had erected around her heart.
Though I’ve read a myriad of fantastic romance novels, not all of the characters had the ability to capture my mind leaving me with sleepless nights. But Luke and Natalie definitely fit that mold as I just didn’t want to stop until I knew how their story was going to end. Once again, Ms. Grace had delivered an entertaining romance with new characters to fall in love with and past characters I already do. It’s always fun to catch up with the residents of Sweetbriar Cove. It’s like coming home for the holidays.
Luke and Natalie meet when Luke is taking a piece of furniture to a client in Sweetbriar Cove and he sees her when she’s on her way to a costume party. They have a brief conversation during which Luke realizes what path he needs to take in his own life. Later after moving to Sweetbriar Cove Luke see Natalie again only she doesn’t remember him until later. Natalie has moved to Sweetbriar Cove after escaping an emotionally abusive relationship. She legally changes her name and is trying to build up her chocolate store all while worrying her ex Oliver might find her and try to get her back or ruin her life. I liked both Luke and Natalie. Luke is very supportive of Natalie and understands she has been hurt. Natalie gets back her independence, strength and learns to trust again. She also learns what true love is and to trust again not only in herself but others. This is a very good book and I would definitely read more books by this author and this.
"But things were different now, she tried to remind herself. And she wasn’t going to let old memories ruin her new, hopeful plans. She had friends here. A life"
And a new town meant new everything if she let it. Natalie had moved to Sweetbriar Cove and opened her fantastic chocolate shop and started to heal from the verbal abuser she had been with for many years. But could she really start over...even with love? Did she believe what Oliver had done was abuse? It must have been if she had run away and hid- new name even.
Doubt is an abuser's tool, one that never quite goes away. And then she met Luke and everything seemed better...until
I love this series. I empathize with Natalie as I am also a survivor so this book both supported me and was the hardest one of the many in the series. But I keep moving on as Natalie is and thank Melody Grace for her insight and her courage to tackle this issue. Highly Recommended 5/5
I really like the Kinsella clan and I think it's great addition to the Sweetbriar Cove gang. I just gobbled this book right up. I love that Natalie has a chocolate shop.I think it's so cool. Luke is just dreamy and prime book boyfriend material. Natalie is making a fresh start in Sweetbriar Cove and she never counted on someone like Luke coming into her life. Being gun shy with relationship due to what drove her to Sweetbriar Cove, but Luke is so hard to resist. I love watching the friendships Natalie starts to make with the citizens of Sweetbriar Cove. Though soon Natalie's past comes a knocking and threatening the future she is creating. This is an easy book to get lost into. Plus it's holiday time so I loved reading about all the festivals and parties going on. It makes me want to go visit.
Love this one! Melody makes me want to live in Sweetbriar Cove! 5 stars for this one! Meet Natalie, moved clear across the US to Sweetbriar Cove to start her life over. She ran from her fiance' who was a controlling, mentally abusing jerk. She had finally had enough and left, and is here now, starting her new chocolate business, and trying to get the residents aware of her store! When a certain sexy guy, Luke takes notice of her and her chocolate, he's hooked! Can he convince her its ok to put her heart out there again and trust him with it? Follow their story as it develops, you will fall in love with these two! And if you're already a fan of the Sweetbriar Cove series, you will love this one! Grab it asap!
This was sooo close to be a great story! But the author just had to throw in the porn. I liked Luke, I liked Natalie...hated Oliver, disliked Cassie. The emotional abuse touched my heart. I haven't been there thankfully, but can understand it. The author did a great job on that part of story. At the end, though, the author made zero reference to Natalie's family. I did get a little tired of all the chocolate raving. That seemed to take up half of the required words for publishing the book. Since it has porn, this author is definitely not a favorite of mine.
The Story of Us by Melody Grace is a sweet contemporary romance and book 11 in her Sweet Briar Cove Series. Natalie is new in town, she had to start over with a new town, new name, new job and new life. Luke Kinsella meets her and can't get her out of his head anymore. But the heroine carries secrets and scars.
Welcome back to Sweetbriar Cove where the world is great and love is in the air. I recommend to read the previous book, Two Hearts and book one in the Kinsella Family Series, first. All in all a sweet romance, 4 sweet stars.
Natalie and Lukes story is so sweet! I couldn’t get enough of this couple. I love this series!! This is a stand-alone and you can just jump in. I jumped in with the last book and fell head over heels so I’m working my way through this authors catalog. It’s a difficult thing to open your heart to someone once you have been hurt and this journey of friendship and love is beautiful. As always the writing is spot on and the story will just sweep you away. Great read. It’s one of those books that makes you feel all the butterflies!! Great romance, fabulous characters and the setting is perfect.
If you’re in the mood for a sweet contemporary romance The Story of Us by Melody Grace is the book for you! Natalie and Luke were great! I enjoyed watching Natalie try and fail to resist Luke’s charms. They were just adorable. The story had sprinkles of angst and low drama, but just enough to keep you hooked. Plus, all the secondary characters in Sweetbriar made this an even more fun read. I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to going back and diving in to previous books in the series. 4 stars.
The story of Us by Melody Grace was a story about second chances and starting over. Natalie Diaz came to Sweetbriar for a fresh start and wanting to escape an ex. Luke came home after being away for some time. He has no interest in a relationship after just coming out of one, but when he sees Natalie he knows she is different. But Natalie is cautious. I loved watching Natalie and Luke get to know each other and spend time together. They had a great connection. But when her past comes back, will she be able to move forward? A heartwarming story about second chances.
Natalie moved to Sweetbriar Cove to feel safe and peaceful, along with changing her name to hide from a certain someone. Then Natalie met Luke, who recently moved back into town. Luke is very sweet, gentle, and considerate. The problem is that Natalie doesn't know who she is anymore and needs some space to find herself. Unfortunately, that drives them apart but naturally, they find their way back. Otherwise, the book was altogether very sweet and their relationship was thoughtful and lovely.
Sometimes I ask myself if I will ever give Melody Grace less than 5 stars. 🙈 My easy way to enjoy a good romantic story is always with Melody Grace. This is like a normal life not too much millionaires and billionaire characters.
The plot and twists always thought carefully by the writer in this story. Until the next book. Can’t wait for the story of Cassie and Wes!
A delightful story of a young woman brave enough to leave a verbally abusive wealthy boyfriend behind to start anew in a small town. She started a successful business and quickly made friends while guarding her true identity. An excellent storyline which keeps you engaged and thoroughly enjoying this book.
Natalie & Luke have instant chemistry, too bad she's in hiding( sort of) from an emotionally abusive ex. She can't trust herself, so it's crushing when she calls it off with Luke. Such a good story, easy to read, and great characters. Can't wait to read the next one, then go back to the start of the series ( started with this book!).
This is Natalie & Luke’s Story. It can be read as a standalone. It can also be read as the 11th Sweetbriar and 2nd Kinsella. This book was extra sweet with a side of heartbreak. Melody did a amazing job on this one. This is a great book to curl up and enjoy this holiday season.
Think I might just head on down to Sweetbriar Cove and get myself a little romance. Love small town series, loves how the townsfolk stick together no matter what. Love me some Melody Grace. I can't wait to read more.
