Huddle! #3

Huddle!, Vol. 3: A "Check, Please!" Sketch Zine

Rate this book
Welcome to Huddle! Vol. 3 . If you're brand new here, Huddle zines are 18+ fan Service booklets that feature characters from the webcomic Check Please .

And for a sketch zine that started on a goddamn whim, the Huddle series continues a strong legacy of spiciness and smut. How did we even get her, folks?... Because when you stumble upon this webcomic at 2AM on a weekday, you weren't thinking «But what if these dudes made out in their undies?» (Or maybe you did.)

Anyway, let's keep this short.
Huddle 1: sketches and teen-rated drabbles...

Huddle 2: full-colored illustrations, comics

Huddle 3: sketches, drabbles, full-colored illustrations, and an entire comic about Jack being really horny for Eric F***ing Bittle. If we keep this up, I have no idea what Huddle! Vol. 4 will even look like!!!!

And I wondered where the 18+ parts were. Maybe I read too many "weird" comics in my life but I really didn't see anything worth of a 18+ label.

Here there is something that may be worth a 18+... But there is also a little comic and more fan service.

I still don't see the point in these little booklets. I'm pretty sure I won't get the forth one.

This one has more explicit things than appropriate for younger teens, which is why I put it under “New Adult” and not YA. But fanservice at its best and DAMN it’s pretty hot 👀

Just some fun extra check please content I enjoyed. I’d say these books are definitely for those that are really invested in this series and have some experience within the series fandom spaces. No rating cause this is just a little zine and not the same as the books I rate.

The Check Please series is one of my very, very favorite pieces of fiction I'm going to be reading and reading Check Please for the rest of my life. It's funny, it's clever, it's romantic, it's complicated, and it has a wonderful ensemble cast. It receives my very highest recommendation.

All I can say about the Huddle zines is: THEY'RE WORTH IT FOLKS. I saved up and treated myself to the digital copies of the zines when I was having a really rough couple of months (I spaced the zines out) and I cannot overstate how great these zines are as potent pick-me-ups. This is the most explicit one yet, containing the most romantic sexual content you may ever see in your life.

Oh man, I loved this and the other two Huddle zines -- they're delightful little windows behind the curtain to Ukazu's love for her work. Sure, they're fanservice, but I'm a helluva fan, and I love the sketches and ficlets and bits and bobs that wouldn't make sense to include in either the comic or the blog, but make for fun (and hot!) extras. Can't wait for the fourth one!

Re-read June 2023 in honor of CP's tenth anniversary!:
I'm really going for the full experience during this re-read. For the uninitiated, the Huddle zines are goofy, sexy little extras, not (necessarily) canon to the actual story.

not as good as the first two, but all the same, still spectacular! I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH!
and the good thing about Ngozi is that pretty much every ship is technically canon because she also ships them all! a woman after my own heart!! <<33
