Book two in the Angelic Letters Series, Another Angel of Love is a heartrending love story with tremendous emotional depth. Beautifully moving...delving deeper into the serious realities of life and love. It was as if Jenny had vanished from the face of the earth. Two years after she and her family moved out of Henry's life, Henry still longs for her, their whirlwind romance gone from his life but not his heart. He was certain she would respond to his last letter, a pewter angel tucked inside--but there have been no letters, no phone calls. Nothing. A country apart, Henry and Jenny are unaware Jenny's parents have burned all the letters but the last...it is protected, it seems, by a heavenly power. Henry continues to rely on the love, support and powerful insights of his mentor Mr. Engelmann, and his secret plan to seek Jenny out sustains the hope that one day his first love will return--until he meets Julean Carter. But is their newfound love deep enough and strong enough to overcome the heavenly touch that entwined Henry and Jenny's spirits when they first gazed into each others eyes? Another Angel of Love ... glows with moments of tenderness ... deeply inspirational ... will captivate the heart of every reader! Winner of the 2012 Silver Medal Award for Best Fiction in the Religious Fiction category of the Independent Publisher Book Awards.

Great as a standalone but better as the second in the series, this book offered a lot in the way of wisdom and insight into the possibilities of angels and progression.
This installment follows Henry as he grows up, over a few years, and meets a new special girl. Ripplinger masterfully describes how agonizing it can be to get over your first love, live in the now and try to forget a past that worked make a person who they are. A fine balance of looking towards the future while holding onto a history that's magical, Henry makes some big decisions regarding career and love.
A wonderful sentiment to any mentor or student, Henry gives a memorable speech that describes just how wise he has become. Although a lot has happened in this story and it covers a lot of time, it also just offers enough to make the reader immediately pick up the next book. With a wedding, a death and a recently discovered letter mailed years before, Another Angel of Love is another book I enjoyed very much.
The continuing story of Henry, Jenny and of course Mr. Engelmann, Henry's mentor. What a wonderful story. Anyone with young teenage girls, this is my recommended read for them and their daughters. I have many many sticky notes in this one. Loved it. Amazing couldn't put it down. I will be passing this on to my granddaughter when she is older. Many good lessons here. Can't wait to read Book 3!
2013: I HAPPENED TO BE IN COSTSO AUG. 1 AND CAUGHT A GLIMPSE OF MR. RIPPLINGER SIGNING BOOKS. aALAS, HOW DISAPPOINTED I WAS THAT MY BOOKS WERE ALL AT HOME. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE MINE SIGNED AND TO ASK HIM IF HE WAS RELATED TO FR. S. RIPPLINGER WHO WAS OUR PARISH PRIEST IN DAVIDSON FOR MANY YEARS.
A great series. It perfectly captures the time and I love the characters. I read it quickly so I could get deeper into the story. Couldn't,t put it down!
Henry and Jenny's relationship keeps being thwarted - Henry works for the Englemanns in the store and finds a kind and loving mentor in David Englemann. Jenny lives through a very hard teen age experience - aching for Henry - but to no avail. Henry meets Jolean -- Jenny meets James - and the world turns. . .
Ok, I'm a sucker for a love story and angels. Went out and bought the next three books in the series. At 600 pages per book, I know the story could have been told in one volume. However it wasn't and I need answers!
Still reading. Bought this one from Author who wrote on my fly leaf,:"Gayle, May your angel be ever at your side." What a nice man ... & great artist! I have several of his prints too.
Book 2 was ok, it felt a little dragged on in spots. Perhaps this is leading up to a suspenseful book#3. Looking forward to the next one but book 1 was my favorite of the two so far.
I’m enjoying reminiscing the simplistic times and lifestyles of this story now in the early 60’s but many preaching parts are too repetitive. I also picked up about seven errors so I’m not sure who proofread this novel. Nothing turns me off more than to find myself re-reading a line only to realize a word is missing or not right. The first book was better proofread.
I will continue reading the third book as the author has piqued my curiosity as to where the Henry-Jenny story is going.
Another gripping tale of two young lovers. Two years after Jenny and her family moved out of Henry's life, Henry still longs for Jenny, their whirlwind romance gone from his life but not his heart. He was certain she would respond to his last letter, a pewter angel tucked inside--but there have been no letters, no phone calls. Nothing. A country apart, Henry and Jenny are unaware Jenny's parents have burned all the letters but the last...it is protected, it seems, by a heavenly power. Henry seeks advice, wisdom, and prayers from his mentor , Mr. Eaglemann, but as much as Mr. Eaglemann says to move on , Henry cannot let it go and starts saving up money to search every high school in the area to find Jenny sustains the hope that one day his first love will return--until he meets Julean Carter.
But is their newfound love deep enough and strong enough to overcome the heavenly touch that entwined Henry and Jenny's spirits when they first gazed into each others eyes? Henry knows that Julean is a sweet girl who loves him very much and he needs to let Jenny go and Julean and Henry start planning a wedding and get married with a let down that the beloved Mr. Eaglemann cannot perform the ceremony since he has months ago become a priest and not ordained yet but they take comfort in knowing he would be there and standing right next to the priest marrying them. As Julean and Henry settle into being married, they juggle also college classes and moving.
I enjoyed book #2 (Another Angel of Love) more than the first book in the series....This time the characters became more true to life....And the part about the butterflies being sent to us as a sign or an Angel, I loved that part (and I believe in those kind of Angels more so than any other kind). I did find that at times the author got a bit too preachy instead of just telling the story...but, it is a religious book and he is trying to get his belief across (very slanted towards Catholicism) I am not Catholic and not very religious either (more spiritual in my beliefs rather than organized religion)and so, I disagreed with some of his points, but other points that he made were touching and made sense and should be believed..we would all benefit from more love and trust in our fellow man.
This is book two in a five part series. Book one was excellent with many lessons in life. Book two seems a little more dragged out with a lot of preaching. I ended up skipping through some sections as the preaching became a bit much. Other than that, I will definitely read the next book in the series. The story is becoming a little unbelievable, but I still have the need to know what happens to the characters.
So far the second book is better then the first you hear from more of the characters as the book brings you into the thoughts of the loved ones around henry and jenny. It is sad at times but the way the author talk about the lord though the characters it makes you smile right away i'm still reading this wonderful book but so far i can not put it down.... Just amazing
I wanted to love this book, mostly because of the subject matter, but it didn't do it for me. Why? Well, if you're going to have your characters act in a way that is completely inconsistent with the place and time period they inhabit, you'd better do an awfully good job of suspending disbelief. The author did not accomplish that. I'd not sure I'll read the next one...
Again, a good wholesome story that kept my attention. Book 2 in this series is better written than the first. It is a little too preachy on premarital sex in my opinion, but a good read nonetheless. On to book 3.
The continuing story of Jenny and Henry....I did find book two a little repetitive and 'preachy'. Having said that, I am hooked on this series and I want to know more about these two love stuck teenagers who were kept apart
