Ryder Kyle is a spoiled, self-righteous jerk.

He doesn’t understand suffering. Entitled guy like him wouldn’t recognize desperation if it smacked him in his perfect face. I don’t need him, but I do need a ride west. I won’t let the guy who reminds me of the mess I left behind interfere with my plan to get to Los Angeles.

This woman is nuts!

People don’t sneak on a tour bus looking for shelter. That’s what crazy fangirls do, but she's far from a fan. She says she’s homeless and asks for help by throwing insults. Her words are like a viper strike and she’s made me her target. We’re dumping her at the next stop.

Skipped a Beat is an enemies to lovers rock star romance that proves one seemingly insignificant choice can change the path of an entire life.

5 massive stars!

OMG, this book! It’s everything! It’s funny, sexy, dramatic, emotional, sweet, heartfelt and exciting with a chemistry-filled rockstar romance that completely swept me off my feet. I laughed and cried, and I felt so much for these characters and their story. An amazing read, I freaking loved it!

This book follows on from Playing by Heart which you should absolutely read if you haven’t yet, because it’s a great book! However this book can easily be read as a standalone.

After a series of devastating life upheavals, Jade finds herself homeless and pretty much without hope as she hitchhikes her way across America to get to her mother in California. When she spies an RV at a truckstop, she stows away, hoping that her presence will go unnoticed and it will get her closer to her goal. She has no idea she had just hidden aboard the tour bus for one of the biggest names in rock – Jesse Lee (hero from book #1).

Ryder is the drummer for Jesse. He’s new to the band, but he’s loving the experience and relishing the opportunity to live out his musical dreams. He is less than impressed, however, to find a stowaway on the bus. He’s even more pissed when his bandmates take a liking to their feisty new traveling companion and offer to take her to LA – setting the scene for a fantastic road trip that is full of friction, animosity and blistering sexual tension.

From the moment that Jade and Ryder meet, sparks fly. And not of the sexy sparks variety. They hate each other, with every encounter full of bickering and snarkiness. But all of that animosity is covering up an attraction that both of them are desperate to avoid – Ryder because he’s in a relationship and Jade because she is recovering from a broken heart and wants nothing to do with men. Things become complicated when they realise that they enjoy their verbal sparring way too much, and things slowly begin to change.

I couldn’t bear the thought of no longer seeing her. Feeling her scowl my way. Engaging in verbal spars. I concluded that as insulting as the woman can be, she makes my blood pump harder than anyone ever has.
There is something seriously wrong with me.

This is SUCH a gorgeous romance! It moves quickly, but it feels slow moving, with plenty of time given to building the connection while playing off all of that epic sexual tension. I loved watching things shift between Jade and Ryder as they came to accept their feelings and get themselves into a position where they could act on it. The UST sizzles on the page, outdone only by the actual sexy time which is SO freaking hot. I could feel their chemistry, and loved watching it all build for them.

“This wasn’t supposed to happen.” I don’t recognize my own voice once the words rake up my chest and from my throat in a low grumble. “You were not supposed to happen.”

And it all unfolds while sharing a bus with Ryder’s bandmates in the middle of a country-wide rock tour…. Awesome!

But although they throw themselves all in physically, emotionally they are both holding back. Ryder has a secret pain that he carries close to his heart, and Jade has so many walls up around herself that it seems that nobody will ever be able to get through them. That, and their tour is drawing to its end, and neither of them can predict what will happen after that. It’s a complicated situation, and watching it play out is an exciting, entertaining, wildly unpredictable ride that I could not get enough of.

“I skipped a beat.”

I love these characters so much! Jade’s smart mouth hides a whole lot of vulnerabilities. She’s a complex character, and it takes a while to fully unravel her story, and my heart ached so much for her as we slowly got to know her. She’s kind and brave, and I love her willingness (however slow) to trust again, and what better man to do that with than Ryder. Because OMG, this man is perfection!

Ryder was first introduced to the JB Salsbury world in Fighting the Fall. And, stupid me, I didn’t even trigger about that link until it comes up in the story and I seriously squeed out loud! What a genius connection! It made me instantly feel even more for Ryder – the sweetheart rockstar with a filthy mouth and a heart of gold - and watching him fall for and pursue the woman he was falling so hard for was an absolutely beautiful ride!

“You can trust me with your heart, Jade. From now until I breathe my last breath.”

The other highlight of the book for me was the bond between Ryder and his bandmates. What a fantastic bunch of guys! I loved getting to see more of Jesse and Bethany, as well as spending time with the other members of Jesse’s band, Chris and Ethan. Their constant teasing and bantering is so much fun, and you can see how much they genuinely care for each other and I can only hope that we’ll get full length books for them in the future. And, of course, the tie in to the Fighting series was fantastic, and getting to see that crew in fun, tender and badass moments was absolute gold!

I loved every moment of this book. It hooked me from start to finish, and I felt everything right along with the characters. Funny, sexy, heartbreaking and so, so romantic, it’s a fantastic read and a fave for 2019.

5 stars!

Skipped a Beat is an enemies-to-lovers trope that is a little light on the enemies - which makes it perfect for me. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of antagonistic banter, and fiery shows of temper in the beginning. But it was easy to see that all that fire was masking a deeper burn and I loved the chemistry that sparked relentlessly between Ryder and Jade.

And...ohmygosh y'all. There are not enough stars (or giant heart eyeballs) to convey the awesomeness that is Ryder Kyle. This swoony rockstar hero is in a league of his own, and I am so hopelessly in love, I don't even know where to begin with counting all the ways. He's sexy as sin, alpha without being overbearing, and adorably playful when the mood strikes him. But it was his giant, relentlessly loving, steadfast, and loyal heart that but the hearts in my eyeballs and the butterflies in my belly. I completely adored him and even now, having turned the last page, I'm not quite ready to let him go.

While Ryder sort of stole the show for me, Jade was a pretty fierce heroine in her own right. She's a wounded heroine, but I loved her spirit and great big beautiful (well protected) heart. I found the walls around her heart frustrating sometimes as information was doled out in bits and pieces, and I really thought I knew how her storyline was going to play out. But Ms. Salsbury zigged when I thought she was going to zag and while there were some mini twists I saw coming, there were others that took me by complete surprise and in the end I found myself completely consumed by this book, all-in emotionally, and enthusiastically cheering for Ryder and Jade's happily-ever-after.

I am also so in love with this band. They keep breaking my heart, even as they persistently weasel their way into it, making me laugh and swoon and hurt so good. There's a fair amount of drama here, and I couldn't get enough of it. I want so much more and am already dying for the stories to come.

In all? This was another A+ rockstar romance for me. The banter, the heat, and the swoon-factor were all 100% on point, and on top of that? It was completely compelling and interesting to read. Addictive. Brilliant. And I am already in line for the next one. ~ Shelly, 5 stars

description

Skipped a Beat was a fun enemies to lovers rock star romance. We already met Jesse Lee and his bandmates in Playing by Heart, and this book focuses on Ryder, who is the drummer, and the son of Cameron Kyle from Fighting the Fall. I loved the connection to the Fighting series, and that the characters from that series made appearances in this book as well. Don't worry though, this book can still be read as a stand-alone. I really loved how the two main characters, Ryder and Jade met, and I thought it was fun and original. Jade is down on her luck and sneaks on a tour bus looking for shelter. Jade definitely hasn't had it easy, and is a bit of a man hater. She clashes with Ryder right from the start, and I think the attraction doesn't make it easier for either of them. It was emotional at times and there was some drama, but nothing that was over the top in my opinion.

I was invested in the story and characters, and I loved getting to know them all better. I really hope there will be more books in this series, and that they will focus on the other two bandmates Chris and Ethan. It was nice to be reunited with Jesse Lee and Bethany, and hopefully his brother Ben will get his own book (I am keeping my fingers crossed)! I am a huge fan of Jamie's writing style, it has such a great flow and it really draws you in. There was a lot of character growth and the romance was done really well. Jamie is definitely an author whose books I'll automatically one-click, and get excited about before even reading a blurb. I look forward to what comes next in the Love, Hate, Rock-n-Roll series.

LOVED LOVED LOVED IT. Ryder and Jade's chemistry was fantastic. They start out at odds because he is thrown for such a loop that he is constantly putting his foot in his mouth. Jade's background was so sad, but her strength was admirable. And Ryder...was just yummy. His moral compass served him well. Ethan was so funny (looking forward to his book) and Ryders weird dreams peppered through the book were hysterical. The moment when the book title made sense I literally AWWWW'ed out loud. We see the whole UFC gang from the Fighting Series and a bit of Ben from Jesse's book. I had such a happy heart at the end of this book.

I really didn't like the heroine, Jade. Even though she was at the mercy of Ryder and his bandmates, she was plain rude to the hero. She didn't feel any shame going off on him even though she was in the wrong by sneaking into their tour bus. And her attitude didn't get better. She was judgemental, confrontational and very bad-tempered. So the sudden change from prickly to docile and vulnerable girlfriend was very unbelievable to me.
Still, the book kept me going, I didn't have the urge to DNF it so that's something, right?

I read Playing by Heart before continue to Skipping a Beat. I think after Playing by Heart, miss Salsbury comes into my radar as author to watch for.

So far she did not disappoint with Skipping a Beat. I enjoy it very much. The story is enemy turns into lover but with that plot and twist. So much drama in every turn. I have to hold my breath in certain part of the plot that skip dinner just to finish this story.

I also like the chemistry between Ryder and Jade, especially Jade. She is so fiesty. I want to hug her everytime she kicks Ryder's ass in heated banter. She hold no prisoner.

Overall i do enjoy this book very much.

Loved the H
The h story was too dramatic for me...
What more could it happen, so we pity her!?
She was cheated, she was robbed and became homeless, she was attacked by a pervert, her mother dies, her brother was killed in the military... And in the end, she's pregnant with the cheater baby!?!?
she was so "special" with a smile she couldn't use because men literally lost their speech.
She was a little bitchy to the people that were helping her... (a little hypocrite with "I don't need anybody and I won't owe any favors" but accept the life of band "groupie" easily.)
Everything happened too fast for me...
Didn't get way his sister was such a secret!
This among other things!

Ryder is a great rock star hero!! I would say he definitely falls more into the good-guy category, but the book still has plenty of grit and drama. I enjoyed this book overall. The couple had great chemistry from the beginning but definitely didn't like each other at first, or at least they tried to convince themselves that was the case, so the relationship develops over a little bit of time. For those that have read this author's Fighting series, the quick cameos from the Vegas/MMA crew are a great little bonus. I will note that this book, which book 2 in the series, reads very well as a standalone and could be read without having first read book 1 (although some elements of that book would be spoiled a bit by reading this one first). I had a few minor things I didn't love about this one. Overall I liked Jade too, but I didn't love the way the author wrote her as having this amazing smile that made any guy's eyes glaze over and them become immediately enamored and stupid - even married or already happy in love guys. Ummm, no, I'm sorry. I found that way too cheesy. But, I was pulled into the story the entire time and so that one minor thing didn't ruin the book for me in any way. If you like rocker books, I would recommend this one!

JB has done it again. She has stolen my heart with yet another phenomenal book. Skipped a Beat is every bit as juicy and breathtaking as Playing by heart. It is filled with witty remarks, jealousy, possessiveness, tender moments and an insanely hot couple that can’t help but love to hate each other.

We first met Ryder Kyle in Playing by heart. He became the new drummer for Jesse Lee. They are currently on tour when they happen upon a stowaway in their tour bus. Jade is currently homeless and in desperate need to get to LA so she takes her chances and hides out in a bus hoping it will get her to her destination. She is oblivious to the fact that this particular bus belongs to the band members of Jesse Lee rockstar sensation. Ryder and Jade get off on a bad footing. They can’t be around each other without verbally sparring. Ryder is usually a friendly guy but being around Jade turns him into an asshole. He is insanely attracted to her. It was lust at first site and for Ryder that is a major problem because he is unavailable. He doesn’t know what to do with his attraction so he is basically rude to her. Jade has a past that she is trying to outrun and she has issues when it comes to trusting men so it’s easier for her to ice out guys but Ryder makes it difficult. Especially when his kindness and thoughtfulness starts showing.

Ryder and Jade are an absolutely endearing couple. I journeyed with them and fell in love with their love. They both tried to stay away from each other and ignore the growing sexual tension between them but it eventually grew too hot and they couldn’t ignore it.
We also got to see a lot of Jesse and Bethany in this book and they are still so very much in love and can’t keep their hands off each other. I have two books that I really want to read and hope it happens. I want to know more about Chris and I need a Ben and Ashleigh book ASAP!

This book had me laughing and it had me tearing at parts. I experienced all their emotions which goes to show what a brilliant and powerful author JB Salsbury truly is.

***5 Stars***

In Playing by Heart, Ryder was one of the two characters I really, really wanted more of, so the grabby hands came out when it was announced that Skipped a Beat was going to be his HEA and I loved every moment of his and Jade’s journey. The eye rolling was real ~ Oh. So. Real. ~ with these two, but so were the swoons and smexyness as well as those moments that had my heart skipping a beat or two!

I adored Ryder and Jade. Ryder has integrity, honor and loyalty branded into every cell of his body. He’s charming, sweet and despite having that unfortunate ‘foot in mouth’ disease and is also all about backing his words up with actions. Jade has a lot of moxie. Sometimes that fiery personality of her’s does get her into some crazy situations, but she owns it. She hasn’t had it easy and has walls that are at least a mile high and wide, she hasn’t lost her compassion for humanity as a whole.

Sparks flew from the moment Ryder and Jade laid eyes on each other. Sometimes those sparks were smexy...other times they were a bit of the colder variety, but one thing was clear from the start ~ they had that THING going on between them that couldn’t be ignored by anyone. The push/pull, half truths and undeniable chemistry between them only grow as their journey progresses and the definitely hit quite a few rough spots ~ but in the end they definitely get the HEA they were always meant to have.

Skipped a Beat hooked me from the start and didn’t let go until the very end. The writing was engaging, the pacing good and I enjoyed the dual first person POV’s. There are some heavy issues woven throughout the story, some were a surprise, some not so much, but all gave depth to the story, and then there are the supporting cast of characters. It was awesome to catch up and hang out with Jesse and Bethany and I loved Chris and Ethan and am definitely looking forward to seeing out their own journeys play out in the series, but after that little tease towards the end...well, I cannot wait to get my hands on the particular story because it promises to be all kinds of goodness!

OH MY GOD! RYDER IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We first saw Ryder in Fighting The Fall. And boy did we see the potential for his story.

To the outside world he had it all: famous parents, money, social standing, good looks etc but what really goes on behind doors he kept close to his chest.

Fast forward to Playing By Heart (Book1) and Boom we see Ryder again. He's Jesse's new drummer **grin** no complaints from meeeeee cause that could only mean one thing.....OWN BOOK hehehe

Jade is a strong woman and full of pride, she takes NO prisoners. When Ryders an ass she calls him out on it. She's been dealt a bad hand from the get go :( but that won't keep her down she'll keep going.

JB has brought forward all the emotions in this beautiful story, love the freshness she also brings to her characters.

**Dreamy sigh** He skipped a beat!

~ 5 Skipping Hearts Stars ~

J.B. Salsbury has given us another rockstar romance that is a MUST READ!!

Skipped A Beat is just as great as the first book in this series…Playing By Heart. What I have enjoyed the most about these books is that they are different from most of the rockstar romances out there.

What happens when a stowaway is given the chance to ride with the group across country? Can a simple good deed go along way to maybe finding a HEA?? Read Skipped A Beat to find out.

Skipped A Beat is a standalone enemies to lovers story that is told in Dual POV. This book wasn’t as an emotional roller coaster as the first book in this series, but I still had my heart going all over the place while reading this story. This is a complete standalone and you don’t have to read the first book to fully enjoy this book. Although I think you should read both books….they are that good!!!!

In this story we follow Ryder Kyle and Jade DeLeon. Jade is homeless and trying to make it across the country to LA for personal reasons. After having her heart shredded by her ex, she is willing to do whatever she has to to put as much distance between her and her old life, even if that means sneaking on to a bus and hiding out. Little did she know she stepped onto Ryder’s bus. Ryder is the drummer for Jesse Lee’s band (Hero in Book 1) Ryder was a little taken back by finding Jade hiding out on their bus. Let’s just say things were not all roses in the beginning.

Ryder was a little hard to take in the beginning. There were some things that he did/said that I had trouble with, but he won my heart over in the end. I absolutely LOVED Jade. She may have been down on her luck, but she was strong and wasn’t going to take anything Ryder had to say. She gave as good as she got. I will say the sexual tension between Ryder and Jade was off the charts…even when they weren’t getting along. These are two people you couldn’t help rooting for.

If you are looking for a rockstar romance that is filled with angst, sexual tension and even some humor, this is the book for you. This is definitely a favorite of mine!! I look forward to seeing where J.B. takes some of the other characters in the future.

Ok, let me just say this book is totally " balls to the wall" amazing!!! I loved, loved, loved this book. The dynamic between Ryder and Jade is soooo goood. The " I hate you but secretly love you" push and pull between these two head strong characters was out of this world. This storyline was so fresh, new and original and unlike any rockstar romance book I have ever read. The word " REFRESHING" keeps repeating in my mind. So unexpectedly refreshing and interesting. This book caught and held my attention. How the two main characters met was pure genius and I loved that. This book is chock humor and angst in perfect proportions. The supporting characters were just enough to help the story along but not enough to over power the main characters and plot. Absolute perfection this book is. I highly recommend everyone to read this one. Well done!

Skipped a Beat is an enemies-to-lovers rock star romance. It is full of hot rockers and sassy women. But there are also a few unexpected twists written seamlessly into the story.

Ryder Kyle is the newest drummer in Jesse Lee’s band. Jesse Lee is the singer from Playing By Heart, book #1. Ryder comes from an unusual family. He may appear rich and cocky but his heart is so good! His defenses are high and he likes his privacy. He also has a secret or two. He is incredibly swoony, sexy and charming!

Jade DeLeon is down on her luck. A few known and unknown bad choices has put her in an even worse situation. She is homeless and trying to reach her mom in California. She is as unique as her name. I want to say so much about her, but I rather you read and discover all that she is. She has many layers and each one that was revealed made me love her even more! I will say that her stubbornness and independence makes it hard for her to accept help or kindness from others. There are reasons, and they sneak up and punch you in the gut! There is also an amazing scene at the end of the book (again, no spoilers) that really had my heart!

“Accepting a little help doesn’t make you weak.”
“No”
“It makes you vulnerable and indebted…”

There is so much to love about Ryder and Jade’s story. Nothing is as it seems. They both have past hurts and secrets. There are a few surprises along the way that had my head and heart doing a double take!

Ryder Kyle was first introduced to us by J.B. Salsbury in Fighting The Fall, part of the Fighting series. The characters in both series are so well written! You will fall in love with each and every one of them! It is not necessary to read the Fighting series to read Kyle’s story. The Fighting series is just a unique and great series that should be read! The crossover/cameos were so much fun! Kyle’s family is rock solid. They are there for him and Jade in every way! Who will be next? I am hoping for Jesse’s brother Ben!

It’s easy. Love is no secrets. Love is exposing every aspect of yourself to another person and trusting they aren’t going to run at what they see or use what they learn to crush you.

My love for Ryder Kyle started way back in his teen years where he made his debut in JB Salsbury's FIGHTING THE FALL. He was a teenager at the time, but his love for music and crazy skill set had you already seeing his future. Fast forward to Playing by Heart, where we meet full grown, and full of sex appeal Ryder, and it took about two seconds to know that this man needed his own book. ;)

Ryder, born and raised with everything we refer to as the "American Dream" aka, money, looks, talent, opportunity... Comes across a bit spoiled and self centered. Well, at least to a girl trying to get her life back on track and using any means possible to do so. It's hard to look at him through Jade's eyes and not see every single stereotype his gorgeous face, and look down his nose at you sneer, that makes up one hell of a bad first impression. And Jade may be down on her luck, but she's not down on her self pride or her ability to call an ass out on the carpet. So after the band finds themselves with an unexpected stow away on their tour bus, Ryder is the first one to insist they give her the boot, forcing Jade to give Ryder a few judgement calls of her own.

The sexual tension between these two is immediate, especially since they'd rather smack the other's face, more than smacking lips. So watching the evolution of utter contempt turn into a friendship followed by... (get your fans ready my friends, because it's not just the desert they'll be driving through that will be scorching hot.)

Salsbury never disappoints with her re-invention of a love story. She's always coming up with fresh idea's that keep the story's changing, and this book is so original, you'll want to read it twice. It's also full of love and laughter, and families that we will NEVER get enough of. We do meet Ryder Kyle in other books, but SKIPPED A BEAT can be enjoyed as a standalone if you want to dive right in. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Oh my word! Oh my Heart!! This book is EVERYTHING! And I mean everything! I love Jesse, don’t get me wrong... he will always be my number 1 guy, but Ryder came in and almost stole his throne. Ryder is completely swoon worthy, he is everything you want in a book boyfriend. He is so sweet, so caring, and put his foot in his mouth more often than not. Bless him!
Jade is a force! She is strong, determined, and she broke my heart into a tiny million pieces. Oh my goodness, her story made me cry!

This author just keeps on stealing my heart! It’s like she knows exactly what kind of story I want and she writes it for me. Her words are magic! This book pulled me right in, held me completely hostage, and stole my heart. I just love it so much!

I laughed in this book. I cried. I wanted to reach in and just hug Jade so much! This author is fast becoming one of my favourite authors EVER with the stories she keeps on giving me. I can not wait for the next one!!

Ryder Kyle’s Book is here! I Repeat, Ryder Kyle is HERE and he is swoon worthy! If I could give this more 10 stars I would!!! Ryder is the newest drummer in Jesse Lee’s band (the singer from Playing By Heart Book 1) While on tour a surprise stowaway ends up on their tour bus. Jade is homeless and just needs a break. When she stumbles upon a warm bus she sneaks onto it just wanting a ride. Can Ryder and the band give this girl a lift or will she make Ryder want to throw her off at the next stop? Ryder can’t decide if he wants to throttle Jade and Kiss her! This book was everything I hoped for and more! JB Salsbury knows how to write a Hero that you swoon for! The mix of comedy and sexual tension is perfect and I need all the bandmates books now! Love that we get more Jesse Lee and UFL men too. Get ready to go for a ride. Told in dual POV

I'm sorry but no. I actually thought that I was going to love this book, but I was wrong. I just don't know what to say, it's all because of the heroine- again. After reading the first book, I had an issue with connecting to the heroine, however, I was willing to give the next book a shot. But low and behold, I had the same exact problem. Don't get me wrong, I understand all the things that Jade had been through and how it all must have been traumatic, but no. She was just so friggen rude and entitled. Constantly throughout this book, she was just plain old rude and disrespectful to Ryder- and she was the one who wrongly snuck onto their tour bus and continued to stay with them! Oh, trust me it gets worse. She was so judgemental, hypocritical and so so quick to assume- I mean you would at least expect a little respect considering the fact that these guys let you stay with them for nothing and had provided you with unlimited resources. And she would always categorize Ryder even though she knew nothing of him and still she feels the need to be offensive to him. And don't get me wrong, I love those types of argument/banter conversations between two characters, but not when one is just lashing out at the other. I mean it's clear that I didn't really like her. I did however really like Ryder, he was just a sweetheart. I also liked how loyal he was,

After I made up some sort of an opinion of the book, I started to skim it- I didn't have it in me to DNF it. I overall didn't like it and I think this is the end of this series for me- it has been a ride, I'll tell you that.

But obviously, if you want to read the book, don't let my negative butt stop you.

I am so in love with this book!!! OMG!!! Ryder is my new BBF!!! I fell in love with him in Playing By Heart and he does NOT disappoint in his own book! How could he considering his background. His family is from one of my very favorite series, the Fighting series! If you haven't read it, you are SO missing out!!!

Ryder and Jade rub each other wrong right from the very beginning and it is hilarious! Ryder just keeps stepping in it no matter what he does. He is such a jackhole in the beginning of this book. And Jade, oh my! She's tough as nails, but I love her! She's determined to stand on her own two feet even with everything she's been through.

There are enough sparks between these two to start a forest fire! And when Jade finally lets down her wall even a little bit, the heat factor soars! But she still holds part of herself back, feeling she's not worthy of someone like Ryder. Thinking that when he knows her past he won't want anymore to do with her. But Ryder is determined to win her over no matter what it takes.

There are some pretty big twists towards the end that will really surprise readers! And that ending! Swoon-worthy!!!

Man I loved this book so much! I can't recommend it enough. It can be read as a standalone but I think it would be much better read after Playing By Heart!

My favorite quote: Music is the only thing that has the ability to unite all walks of life regardless of sex, socio-economic status, race.

4.5 Beating heart drum rolls 🥁

Skipped a beat is book two in this series and follows the story of Ryder and Jade💕 Jade has been living a homeless lifestyle after leaving the city where she lives in an attempt to reach her mom in L.A. However, because of this and lack of money she ends up on a bus with no idea where it’s going but hoping for warmth and a good night sleep 😴 When she awakes in the morning, she finds out whose bus she’s hitched a ride with😀

Ryder and Jade don’t get off to a very good start but eventually they start to get to know each other better! I fell completely in love with Ryder when he got Jade some UGGS....I won’t say more than that as it was an amazing scene. Suffice to say Ryder and Jade both have secrets and with Jade’s trust issues, it seems as though a relationship is insurmountable. Will they both be able to reveal their closest secrets or will they separate and not know what could have been?

Great story and I’m so happy I managed to get an ARC from J.B. Salsbury😍 I’ll leave my honest review and hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did and I hope there is more to come❣️

4.7 Stars!! (I rounded up)

I plowed through this book in just a few hours. I just couldn’t put it down.

It’s a slow burn romance which allows for rich character development. J.B. Salsbury is a master at creating well developed characters who are flawed, lovable, hysterical, and for lack of a better word… REAL. This book had me laughing, crying, anxious, angry... It had it all.

This book can be read as a stand-alone; However, I’d recommend reading Playing by Heart to fully enjoy the richness this book has to offer.

For those of you who have read the fighting series, we FINALLY get Ryder’s story. And what a story! Totally worth the wait. The chemistry between Ryder and Jade lept off the page. It was reminiscent of the fighting series – which remains one of my favorite series. Bonus: there are a couple ‘where are they now’ scenes.

Kuddos to J.B. Salsbury for yet another great read! You’re on a roll, sister! BTW – I’ll never look at Big Bird the same again.

Ooooohhhh Ryder!! The wait for him does not disappoint. He may not be the front man of the group, but he’s taken lead in my heart. The sexy drummer with his secrets. The stowaway and her secrets. Together the chemistry is off the charts. Their banter is so sexually charged. But their feelings for each other are deep.
Following the band on the last leg of their tour provides the unexpected. There are OMG moments you don’t want to miss.
These are two of my favourite characters. I think I love him more than Jesse 😮

After finishing this book, I felt as if I owed the author money. I couldn't put it down. It had me at the 1st chapter. Holy cow - what a great story.

The characters are so well written - you will think you know them and you're a part of the band. She nailed it! I really couldn't read it fast enough but at the same time, I didn't want it to end. Talk about personal dilemmas!!

Buy a ticket to THIS show - it won't let you down.

I honestly did not think I could love this book more than Playing by Heart. I definitely could not have expected to fall for a musician other that Jesse but I stand corrected. I fell for Ryder a long time ago but have just now discovered exactly how much. This story brings him up close and personal with Jade. They don't make it easy but what would be the fun of that?? I loved the banter, the sass and especially the chemistry. I did not want it to end! Another blazing hit for JB Salsbury. I am grateful for the opportunity to write this review in exchange for an ARC.

I did not see that coming! But oh how I loved it! Ryder Kyle is not your typical rockstar but he is what swoony rockstar dreams are made of. Jade is an amazing chick. This book was a perfect mix of funny, sweet, sexy and emotional.
