A young girl in love with her dreams ahead of her makes a critical and painful decision to have an abortion her senior year in college. Her mother encourages the abortion, she is sick with fear and doesn't want to disappoint her very strict and reserved family. As years pass she has other children with the same man, and often is depressed wondering what her oldest child would have been like had she let it been born, her husband says don't worry, "we made the right decision together" her pain never really goes away so she writes until the pen runs out of ink. She still is unsettled with the loss.
