I was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Wanting to escape life in a big city and concentrate more on working to live than living to work, I moved to the Outer Hebrides in the north-west of Scotland in 2004 and I have lived there ever since with my wife and dogs.

I write post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, dystopian and horror fiction. I’ve released fifty one books across six different series - Safe Haven, The End of Everything, Unsafe, Relentless, The Burning Tree and Scares in Scotland.

In addition, most of my titles are now available as audiobooks narrated by Kim Bretton, so if you’re one of the many people who struggle to find the time to read, you can listen on the go.

Like it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t something I’d rave about, it missed that heart pounding feeling that I seek in these books, there wasn’t a time where I felt fear or trepidation course through my veins especially with the situations they found themselves in when it came to two girls alone in the world trying to survive.
At this stage I’m unsure if I’ll read the others in this series.

Unfortunately kinda bored me. I was looking forward to seeing the relationship between the sisters since that's something that's lacking in post-apocalyptic literature, but their interactions seemed unrealistic and cliche. One sister was the smart and athletic sister, and the other was the superficial and dumb sister. Their reactions to certain things were weird and obviously written by a man. And I get people react differently to grief and trauma, but the timing for the humour seemed off, it wasn't like they were joking as a coping mechanism because when they were talking about traumatic events, like the death of their parents, the jokes stopped.

Overall it's another zombie book with nothing new to add, the story was what you'd expect and wasn't very surprising, which can be a fun and comfortable read for fans of the genre, but I was looking for something with a little more depth.

I really enjoyed this book. At first, the sisters relationship got on my nerves. Like it’s a zombie apocalypse start working together and getting along but that quickly changed. As the book went on, I enjoyed their relationship and thought it was sweet how they protected each other. I love the action and the author does a good job describing the zombies. I have already downloaded book 2.

3 series’s into one amazing
series.

Author Christopher Artinian created a disaster and wrote with an amazing accuracy how it all effects differently different characters, which I’m guessing that at the end it will all connect into the same point.
As usual Kim Bretton adds her amazing talent into the book creating beautiful sounds into an audiobook.

Absolutely recommended !!!

Christopher Artinian is one of my favorite authors in the zombie genre and I have enjoyed the books in his "Safe Haven" series immensely. When I found out that he had written a YA zombie book about two sisters, I was excited to give it a try. I have to say that I was not disappointed!

From the very beginning of the book, we learn that Wren is a very resourceful young lady. At the age of 15, she has more common sense in a EOTWAWKI situation than most adults. Her sister, Robin, is another story. Robin is a typical teenager, more concerned with fashion and boys than real life events. I enjoyed the way that Robin progressed from this annoying fluff to someone able to hold her own in a bad situation. I loved the banter between the sisters and it added a lot to the realism of the story.

Mr. Artinian has plenty of action in the book and the ways that our sisters fight off the zombie hordes is great. And, I love the nod to pop culture in the character of Norman Bates. How fun! The ending was a great tie-in to Mr. Artinian's other series and I look forward to seeing how these sisters might fit in to the "Safe Haven" world.

The narrator, Kim Bretton, is perfect for this book and really added a lot to my enjoyment of it. Her pacing was perfect and her voices were spot-on. I was given the chance to listen to this book by the author, but all opinions expressed are my own.

Always love everything by Artinian and this was amazing too!
Can’t wait to see what the girls get up to next. So far they have been very lucky (& a bit unlucky as well) and have managed to take care of each other. Glad they have found a safe spot for the time being. I was wondering when another big bad would be introduced. Looks like the next book has some of that coming.
Kim Bretton did an amazing job narrating.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy at no charge by the author, publisher and or narrator.

Wren and Robyn are well thought out characters that draw you in immediately, and when Robyn gets her act in gear you ant to cheer. Great story, I was set to give it 5 stars when the epilogue happened and a time worn stupid cliche ended the book.

I am not rating this book.

I personally lost interest because the characters were simply to young to hold my attention for long.

The story in itself was conclusive, authentic and character age appropriate. No critics there. Maybe to stereotypical.

It was alright

I almost stopped reading this book many times because it seemed like the author has never been in contact with real teenage females before. I skipped parts and barely finished. The way the girls, especially Robyn, was portrayed was comical.

Post apocalypse zombies.
It was okay. I was jarred on the first page by bad grammar ... that continued throughout the book in a fashion that I'm pretty certain *isn't* bad grammar. It is set in Scotland/England and I'm betting I just don't know proper grammar for the area.

The sisters were fun sometimes and sometimes just odd or weird. There was something off about the characters. It was fun to see a non American setting. As an American reading it, two things struck me. Why don't these idiots get a gun and shoot the zombies? Gun Control, a Zombies best friend. And ... why don't these girls drive a freaking car??? There's a car in the driveway? They're 15 and 17 years old, were they worried about getting a proper drivers license? The Zombie cops would pull them over? At one point they mention learning to drive.... but seriously, it isn't that hard. If you've ever seen someone else drive it's pretty easy and it's faster than walking a hundred miles through zombie infested lands.

The antagonists were a bit cartoonish.
It's probably a good idea for a 100 lb 15 year old girl to kick a man in the groin to stop him. But you better have a follow up plan because 15 seconds latter he's going to kill you and *then* limp away crying in pain while his friends laugh at him. He's not going to limp away first.

So my complaints are all about the believability aspects ... in a zombie story.

The action and the tension were very good. The scene at the church was exciting. Wren was fun and resourceful. Her sister was a little extreme in her stupidity but they did grow. It would have been nice if their relationship consisted of more than just calling each other juvenile names ... but eh? In reality most people aren't more clever than that in their insults.

Fantastic start to the series! Two sisters caught in and trying their best to survive in a Ram-infested and devastated world, meeting one challenge after another. Their story is set in the Safe Haven world, which is familiar and refreshing. I like how there is an expectation for previous characters to cross paths, which is great. The suspense and the anticipation are marvelously composed; you never know what's next, keeping you on the very edge of your seat. The storyline is fast-paced and gripping; the action scenes are intense and exciting; my attention was captured and held the entire time. The character development is excellent; the personalities are distinctly defined and relatable with realistic reactions to the situations.

Another stellar performance by Kim Bretton. She channels the characters, emulating the nuances of the various personalities and mannerisms, bringing them to life. It was so worth the listen, and I'm definitely recommending The End of Everything.

This tale is about two sister's who survive the pandemic in a house on a cul-de-sac in Ireland.
It could be anywhere in the world though as we are all the same when it comes down
to basics of life. Some neighbors survived as well but they find out in a a short amount of time
they are not safe. That comes to fruition when the neighbors all have a BBQ and get drunk and
start throwing moltov cocktails down on the Zombies who have gathered in front of the barrier they
made to block off their dead end street. Robyn and Wren have to bug out before their house burns
down. They planned on going to their grandfathers 150 miles away but not like this. This is their story on their way. Superb writing and I am on to the next book in the series.

While I really liked that this takes place in Scotland (worth a half star just for that), I almost gave up early in the book. The two sisters were quite nasty to each other, constantly bickering, and the elder of the two was particularly awful and useless. I was convinced that the reanimated were also very deaf since the girls did not really try to be quiet initially. My surprise when Robyn finally started to step up was that she was not already dead. The story did improve in the second half, though the writing tends to be a bit uneven especially the dialogue. I may read book 2 to see if the story and the characters improve.

Two young ladies in their teens find themselves trying to survive the apocalypse that has fallen. First they they experience the worse thing that could happen. Staying home, hiding, and scrounging, has it’s risk. They begin a journey together, the two opposites of each other. Can they find the strength and will to travel to find safety. You will be proud, scared, and even a bit of humor in their struggle.

I love an accent, and Ms. Bretton’s is captivating. She puts emotion into the words of Mr. Artinian.

This is just the beginning. Follow along if you dare. Read or listen, you will enjoy.

To be honest, I only got through the first five chapters. The sisters are 15 and 17. The 17 yr old, Robyn, is simply TSTL, her sister should have used her as bait. The 15 yr old, Wren, has her priorities in order. The awfulness of the 17 yr old is SO extreme I simply gave up reading.

I can't even tell you how many times I rolled my eyes. I know that my 12 yr old granddaughter & 11 yr old grandson would have more sense.

I know I should give it more time and I'd see some character development, but the oldest sister is so extremely shallow, conceited, and selfish, I just can't.

The End of Everything is a zombie apocalyptic book set in Scotland about two sisters. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed hearing the accent with the story. These two sisters have the typical love/hate relationship most siblings do. I really liked the strength and vulnerability of these two teens. The power they have is pretty realistic in how they deal with everything including each other. The way others the girls encounter are more realistic than some other stories which cool. I received the story for free and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I liked this book and will continue on to the 2nd.

When I 1st started this book. I gave it a 3 star because there were mistakes at the beginning and from that, I immediately went to the negative. I hate mistakes because I'm a flow reader and if I come across a mistake, the book stutters and I get flustered. I don't know why I decided to give it another go. Okay, WOW is all I can say. Love the book, love the flow. I will most definitely read the rest of this series and follow the author.

Still Going Strong

I didn't know what to expect after reading the Safe Haven series. I didn't know about the author's timeline unti I was almost finished. But I see both can be read separately also. It took a minute to get into the story and now it seems like I'm hooked once again. I am loving these books. Sometimes in lengthy series, the story loses its appeal but that hasn't happened so far. After reading a book, I'm off to the next. I'm fortunate that all the books are already done so I don't have to wait. I highly recommended this series.

A good start

Not the blood and guts shoot em up like most "zombie" stories. Still it is well balanced and takes a serious look at the breakdown of societal rules and decent human behavior that is sure to accompany any shtf scenerio. For pulling it off with two teen girls as the main characters is brilliant and fresh. European customs and their lack of a gun culture has always intrigued me. Looking forward to the next one.

Zombies v Javelin

I really enjoy reading these books, I found this one fantastic, and very well written. The story really draws you in and makes you feel apart of it, I found myself holding my breath in those scary moments, and the sense of humour between the sisters had me bursting out with laughter in the early hours of the morning (not good for those sleeping). I will be downloading the next book straight away.

Love this book. It flows along like expected, but after the first few chapters it kicks on its afterburners. And it takes no prisoners. And I don’t like zombie books, that much, but this book is so much more than that. It is a tale of two people who have to start over and learn to love again. It’s so much more than the dead eating people, it’s a story of what I hope to do if and when the apocalypse happens. Trust me read this part 1 of 8, I’m going to, I wouldn’t steer you wrong? Would i

The End of Everything (The End of Everything #1) was a good read by Christopher Artinian. Two sisters are living a nightmare. Now their survival depends on them spending time together and it's the last thing they want. They are in an apocalyptic horror that they could've never imagined. Terror lurks at every corner as they navigate the city to find safety. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more but the author.

This was a very interesting novel set in Edinburgh, Scotland as the world ends by a deadly zombie virus. Two sisters, who couldn't be more different, set out to seek safety in the farmlands of Scotland.

Artinian was a new find for me. His storyline was interesting, jumpy enough and real enough to keep me engaged. I loved his dynamic between the sisters. One is always prepared and a planner while the other floats through life, but sees opportunities where the planner doesn't.

Juvenile

The editing errors start in the first paragraph, with more than one on the first page. Plus, I didn't realize it was juvenile til I started reading it. I gave it 2 stars because I only read a dozen pages and didn't feel I could give it one star based on just that. Even when I was twelve, I would've put it down.

That was it?

This barely qualifies a book. It's a short story that was padded and blown up to look like a real book. This is just a introduction. We're introduced to the math characters, that get into a few minor conflicts, and then it's all over.

I get that this is meant to be the first in a much longer series but there just isn't enough here to warrant coming back to.

This book is amazing!! it has two strong main characters that takes you trough all the story excited and at the same time terrified of what is going to happen. The world is really over in the way Rebyn and Wren knew it and I can´t tell you how I would react in front of something like that, and this girls nailed it! I can´t wait to put my hands in book 2 and enjoy this world one more time.

Not a fan of this series. Not many zombies, and the ones that they meet seems to be dispatched too easily. Not convinced that a 15 y/o teen who spent her days with her nose in a book when not running track, has ALL the knowledge and techniques to defend the hordes of zombies. This is a YA novel, so a lot of dialogue was juvenile.

Teen sisters face the Zombie Apocalypse together

After Wren and Robyn's parents are turned while preparing to evacuate from their home in Edinburgh, Scotland they must find a way to survive. Robyn is a bit annoying, but just when I was hoping When would abandon her she finally wakes up. Plenty enjoyable enough to want to continue with the series.

I got this free on Bookbub, I don't much bother with apocalypse and zombie books as they ae all about the same. The interaction between the sisters is interesting turning from antagonistic to cooperating and getting on with surviving but it is pretty much standard fare for the genre after that. Quite well written and a good start for a series.

This was written decently well and the plot was good. I couldn’t get into it because of how juvenile and bitchy the two characters were to each other, not all teenage girls are constantly sarcastic or loathsome to their siblings, I couldn’t get over the horrible portrayal of the two female main characters. It was so obviously written by a man. The forceful teenager moodiness gave me the ick.
