Angela meets Prince Andres of Estoria at her best friend Dahlia's wedding to Prince Kofi....Prince Andres is smitten with Angela from the beginning...but she is extremely hesitant....she basically tells him that she's not interested...a few weeks later she returns to Atlanta and he contacts her at work for service....the two of them have dinner and a secret courtship begins...this couple experiences a little bit of everything to include racism (Angela is bi-racial)....A lot happens before these two are able to get to their HEA.

No no no no no!

I want to state this right away: Don't waste your money or your time on this book. It's about abuse. It follows a controlling and abusive man as he uses his money and power to stalk, harass and literally kidnap a woman until she agrees to marry him. There is nothing fun or romantic about it. I felt like I was reading about a tragic sex crime. This isn't billed as a dark romance; it's supposed to be a fun, royal fantasy.

I have other issues with this book — the dialogue is bad, there's too much telling and not enough showing, the plot is contrived and the pacing is atrocious — but that's not what I want to focus on. The real problem are the characters and their relationship. Characters can make or break a romance for me. These two are the most unsympathetic pair I've ever encountered. He's a creep and she's a dummy. Someone had the gall, the shamefaced audacity! to try and compare Angela and Andres with Meghan and Harry. Excuse me? How dare you! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex would never.

Let's get into this, 'cause I'm sure you want the receipts:

“I need you,” he muttered in a husky voice.

She shoved him, and he pushed her onto the bed and fell on top of her. “If you think—”

“I don’t have to think, I know. You belong to me, Angela. You said so yourself.” He pinned her wrists above her head and his mouth landed on hers with bruising intensity. She twisted against him, kneeing him in the side, but he continued undeterred.

Andres. Andres is a stalker. Point. Blank. A creep who uses his power to force a woman to do what he wants despite her clearly stated wishes. A list of his abusive actions include:

- Showing up at Angela's job unannounced after she told him she wasn't interested in pursing a relationship
- Expressing extreme and irrational jealousy whenever Angela interacts with other men.
- Using his resources as a prince to have Angela followed so he can keep up with what she's doing
- Breaking into her house to confront her about a date she went on with another man (this is after he dumped her to marry another woman)
- Initiating sex and forcing himself on her after she said "no" and despite her attempts to push him away (see above quote)
- Kidnapping her, taking her overseas against her wishes and imprisoning her in his palace until she agrees to marry him
- Constantly saying gross shit like "you belong to me" or "you're mine" whenever she expresses her wish for independence

These are items from the book. If you go through my highlights and notes, you can see them all for yourself. Some of his actions are straight up crimes. There is nothing romantic about it. Of course, he always apologizes and blames his actions on the power of love, because that's what abusers do. I'm not about to sit here and root for a man to psychologically bully a woman into maintaining a relationship with him. I don't give a fuck how rich he is.

The words sounded like an indictment, but Andres had been slowly chipping away at her autonomy. When he came to Atlanta, she dropped everything. Friends and family were put on the back burner so she could spend as much time with him as possible.

Angela. There's no gentle way to say this, so I'm just going to have to be blunt: Angela's a dumb ho.

- At the beginning of the story, she gets mad because Andres didn't tell her he was a prince. How the hell she missed this tidbit of information is beyond me. He didn't take any steps to hide his identity and SHE MET HIM AT A ROYAL WEDDING! They are both close friends of the couple, who are also royalty. Wouldn't he have been introduced to her some point? Was she just not paying attention? When Serena Williams showed up to Meghan's wedding reception you don't think there were one or two guests who were like "oh, hey, world-famous tennis player Serena Williams is here"??!???!? People may not be so tasteless to gossip about him, but they're going to point out that he's there. She's an idiot!

- She and Andres spend two hours together before deciding they are SO IN LOVE. (Not an exaggeration. They first talk at the wedding a little after midnight and they end the evening at 2 a.m.) Angela tells him she's not interested in a relationship with a famous man. Oh, but she'll sleep with him because why not? And she'll take his expensive gifts with no guilt because she likes nice things. And she'll let him fly her to expensive restaurants around the world. But she doesn't want a relationship, you guys. sHe vAlUeS HeR InDePeNdEnCe! Angela insists that she's not a gold digger. I don't believe her.

- As the above quote proves, Angela herself acknowledges that their relationship isn't healthy. Nevertheless, she continues to lead him on and let him railroad her because she's a dangerous combination of stupid and shallow. She's easily dazzled by lazy compliments and flashy gifts. At one point, when Andres is LITERALLY holding her hostage in his palace, she says it's okay because he left her with a closet of couture. He confiscates her phone, places guards at her door, DOES GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT TO HER PASSPORT AKA HER ONLY PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP AND LEGAL PROTECTION OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTRY, but oh-em-gee! he gave her half a closet of clothes. Her complete lack of common sense is just galling. I don't respect heroines who are TSTL.

-

In conclusion, I hate this book so much. I hate the gross things it says about consent and respectful boundaries in relationships. I hate how it wastes time on stupid shit like Angela's sister, Rebecca, but doesn't take the time to develop the relationship between the leads. I HATE THE CONSTANT DELUGE OF POINTLESS DETAILS LIKE THE INTERIOR DECOR OR WHAT PEOPLE ARE WEARING! But most of all, I hate Andres and Angela. Loathe them. I hope there's a revolution in Estoria and they get deposed. That's the happy ending they deserve.

Please save your $4. Treat yourself to a nice fresh-baked cookie or a quality taco. You'll be much happier.

Sacrificing for love

Angela and Andres had an immediate connection. After meeting Angela, he made it his mission for her to become his. They communicated long distance, had several getaways, and secret dates. Their relationship was developing and turning into a strong need for each other. Andres had high hopes of persuading Angela to move to his Kingdom. Unexpected news changed his plans and ripped their relationship apart. They seemed scared to really share their true feelings and it hindered their progress. However Andres wouldn't go out without a fight. It's another sweet love story in this series and worth reading to see how love can be worth a sacrifice.

Needed more

I liked the book, but it was just ok. The romance seemed to be lacking as the couple wasn't featured together often unless it was sex or an argument. While the conflict was serious the resolution was too unrealistic. Delaney Diamond is a great author and I will definitely be reading the next book. Wasim seems to have a lot going on with him.

Powerful men fall in love powerfully!

Our heroine Angela Lipscomb a very successful biracial sister attends her bestie's wedding in the African country of Zamibia and catches the eye of Prince Andres De Vasquez of Estoria! Angela resists the charming Prince Andres until he comes to the states with the ultimate goal to woo Angela and finally have her by his side as his Princess! How many of you know things never go as smoothly as we see it going in our heads? Such was the case with Prince Andres and the love of his life Angela!!! Plagued by a jealous and bitter half sister on her side much harm by way of media antics and the initial disapproval by the reigning Monarch, these two star crossed lovers had many issues they had to surmount if they were ever going to have a happily ever after!!! There is so much good stuff chocked between what I have shared and the end of the story that you owe it to yourself to read the entire book!! Trust me this is one story you want to get, read and pray an audio book is on the horizon. Thank you Ms Diamond you have penned another sweet sensual romance novel destined to become a number one best seller!!!!!!

I highly recommend this book! Do not pass this one by! I loved it and wanted more. Angela and Andres' story was beautiful and exciting, it also dealt with the very serious issue of race and I congratulate Delaney Diamond for acknowledging that and addressing it in a sensitive way. I loved the characters, Andres was strong and commanding - he was a prince, after all, and he always got what he wanted - and he wanted Angela! Angela was also strong, her wit sharp, able to match his.

Angela and Andres' love was fast and passionate and although Andres was a prince, Angela remained strong in her stance and beliefs and only when Andres was willing to give up all for her, did she then submit to him wholeheartedly. What a wonderful story!! I feel bereft now that I have finished the book and want to continue to read more about the couple. An outstanding read! I thoroughly enjoyed it! Delaney Diamond has done it again! Do not wait! Grab your copy today!

Angela meets Andres at the wedding of her best friend (Dahlia, heroine from Princess of Zamibia). It's clear from the first meet that the attraction is mutual. After a romantic evening together, Andres wasn't ready to let go. Angela on the other hand had her reasons for not wanting to date such a public person. Andres took the necessary actions to quell her fears. He was the kind of alpha male I like. I loved Andres! He did do/say one stupid romance hero thing, but it's romance so...

The story dealt with racism, which is a relevant topic at the moment. It got enough page space without overshadowing the romance, which was great. I was also satisfied with how it was wrapped up.

Overall, this was a fairly standard royal romance plot. The trick was in the execution. Ms Diamond's writing shone through in this story and made reading it a delight.

If you like royal and/or billionaire romance and/or alpha male heroes, then you'll definitely enjoy this book. Read it.

Prince Andres and Angela met at their respective best friends', Kofi and Dahlia, wedding. Their meeting was lust at first sight even though Angela didn't know who Andres was in the beginning. Once she finds out who he really is, she doesn't want to become involved with him due to a past relationship and her career. Andres did not take no for an answer and followed her to America with a plan to make Angela his own. Andres finally convinces Angela to give him a chance. From there, we are drawn into their passionate, international love affair. Andres and Angela had to go through drama, jealousy, racism and family expectations during their relationship. In the end, what developed was a beautiful love story between Andres and Angela. This was a very well-written story that I enjoyed thoroughly. Well done again, Ms. Diamond!!!

Love At Last❤❤

I really enjoyed reading Andres and Angela's love story and it was so cute that they met at Kofi and Dahlia's wedding. I'm glad that all of their challenges that kept them from being able to get married were worked through and removed by Prince Felipe. I'm glad that Andres stood up for Angela and their daughter. I wanted to know what Kofi and Dahlia's second child was and it's name. I can't wait to see what happens next with Wasim and Imani.

Angela and Andres met at her best friend's royal wedding. He didn't tell her he was a prince. She tried to cut off their budding relationship but he came after her. Things were going great, except for him wanting her to leave her job. Then he was tapped to take the throne and his grandfather wanted him to end things with her.
This story was really good. They loved each other but neither wanted to give up their lives for love. She was scared and he had obligations. Enjoyed this book a lot

And another one...

I am absolutely loving the Royal Brides series! The mix of real life and fairy tale has been perfectly balanced in the first two books. Angela and Andres meeting at a royal wedding and falling in love was everything. Can't wait to see what the author has in store for Imani and Wasim!

Thanks for another great read, Delaney Diamond!

Fina!ly!

Andres wanted Angela since the wedding of Dahlia and Kofi. They went through a lot to get to this point but finally they got to their HEA! Prince Felipe almost lost his grandson being stubborn but I loved Andres' determination. I really enjoyed this novel and can't wait for Imani and Wasim's story. Great series Delaney Diamond!

Living Royal Brides series

This book is the 2nd in the series, and is even better than the first. Andrea and Angela meet at Jodi and Dahlia's royal wedding, and sparks fly. Angela got her Prince but will she pay a heavy price? I feel her sister should have been dealt with a LOT harsher. Great read, highly recommend.

Another good read

Diamond writes another royal romance this time focusing on Dahlia's best friend Angela and the Prince of Estonia Andres. A quick read, this one continues to build on the friendship of three Princes and their love lives. You could read this as a stand alone but would get much more value from reading the first book in the series prior to this one.

Great Story

The obstacles that Angela and Andreas had to overcome in order to be together were realistic.
It is a shame that racism and classicism still exists, in the 21st century, but they do. I enjoyed the way Ms. Diamond addressed the issues and how her characters triumphed. That made the love and passion between Angela and Andreas much more special and believable.

I wanted to strangle Felipe, he should have known better. He raised a wonderful man, Andres,a true leader, but it shouldn't have to be at the cost of losing himself. Because of his for love Angela. Love does prevailed all. Thanks!

Though weak with love for the Prince Angela was a strong young woman she would speak up and was not going to become a kept woman in the name of love. Sister Becca needs a good ole GA beat down

Beautiful story

I knew Prince Andres had his eye on Angela in book 1, but he didn't know what a firecracker she is😂. She reminds me of someone I know she's strong, independent, and loves hard. It's sad how miserable people try to ruin your happiness because their life sucks.

Exceptional writing✍🏾

I did not want to put this book down! I had to finish and was surprisingly happy about (prince Andres') grandfather. The character "Angela" was a bit too independent however, worked for her. This fictional series and characters are explosive!
