Blade McCormick is not a nice guy.

He’s pure adrenaline and smells like smoke and leather—the kind of guy you look at and know he’s going to be a combination of nasty and irresistible. The moment I allowed myself to touch his hot skin and kiss his full lips, I. Was. Done.

Like currency, I’ve become part of a transaction. Blade took me to pay off a debt. I try to tell myself, Eve, you should hate him. He’s a bad guy. But then again, I’m not a good girl. Blade’s the president of the Disciples, the notorious motorcycle club. I should be frightened, yet somehow, he doesn’t scare me. If anything, I think I scare him.

It takes a lot of work to become the club’s Queen, but I’ll stop at nothing to have the King!

“ I’ll be with you until one of us buries the other.” - Jason Blade McCormick

I am loving this freaking MC series! It is so good! I started on book #4 but I had to go back to the beginning and finish the series.

Eve is a carnival rat and gypsy. She finds herself being sold to the president of The Disciples, Jason/Blade, to care for a debt that her brother and father owe. Instead of making her the club’s whore Blade surprises himself and claims her.

Blade is so hot and badass. No Boy Scout here. He handles himself like a crime boss running his club successfully in all things illegal. He wasn’t expecting the young girl Eve that shares his bed to get into his heart.

If you are looking for a well written motorcycle romance on the dark side I highly recommend this one!

Lethal is book one in the series, The Disciples by Cassandra Robbins. This is my very first book by this author. This is a MC romance that can be read as a stand alone.

lethal cassandra robbins - Google Search

Eve Smith first met the president of the Disciples MC gang when she was sixteen years old. Eve grew up as a carnival rat. She, her dad and brother were dirt poor and traveled with the carnival. Her brother, who was heavily in to drugs, drew attention to their little family in the worst possible way. Fast forward two years, and Eve is eighteen. Her brother is worse, and owes money to some bad people who have come to collect. Only her brother is no where to be found and her dad is in very poor health. That leaves Eve to be responsible for the debt.

Blade/Jason McCormick is the President of the Disciples MC club. This is the only life Blade has ever known. He knows, he is a very bad man. He has never forgotten the sixteen year old’s beauty that day two years ago. Now he finds himself face to face with her again. And her brother owes him a lot of money and is nowhere to be found. So Blade takes payment in a different way. He’ll take Eve.

Eve finds herself thrust into a world full of sex, drugs and booze. But, more important than all that is Blade. To her he is the most beautiful man she has ever seen. It hurts to look at him at times. Eve has no one else and is determined to make this work.

Eve and Blade’s stubbornness collides over and over again. Blade wants to bend Eve to his will, make her submit. But Eve is stubborn and tries to keep the upper hand. Of one thing she is certain, though. She is falling for this beautiful man and she is determined to make him fall for her right back.

sexy men with tattoos

This was difficult to read at times. Blade was so torn between who he was expected to be as the president of his club, and who he wanted to be for Eve. She was an obsession and he fought it every step of the way. He was cruel to her and it hurt me every time with some of the things he said to her or the way he treated her. But it was also clear how torn he was, trying to adjust to all the things he was feeling.

Bike Couple Travel

I also have to say that I don’t know how Blade stood the stress he was under every single day trying to hold everything together. There was so much happening, so much going wrong. And on top of it all, he was still fighting with himself over what was happening with Eve.

I also want to mention that I loved Eve. She was no shrinking violet. This girl was tough. She knew she loved him but she was not willing to back down about anything.

lethal cassandra robbins - Google Search

I really did love this. I needed a change and this worked perfectly. These two were tough but together there was also so much sweetness. Their chemistry was crazy hot and they burned up the pages.

Book two in this series is already out and is called Atone. It is Blade’s cousin, David’s story. I can’t wait to pick it up!

What the deuce did I just read?

Here, I'll tell you:

Several sex scenes that were barely veiled assault, degradation, humiliation, insta-love and POORLY executed, if not a complete LACK of research.

"Bad Ass" heroine who is, in fact, an idiot. She lets "Blade" tell her several times that he's going to keep her as a slave/'ole lady' while he screws whoever, and if he decides to screw someone else IN FRONT of her, she'd better not complain. The few times she does get mad, he tells her "tough shit, get over it" and she goes back to gushing over him.

Other episodes of her "badass"ness include stabbing a cognitively developed prospect, potentially (still not sure) trapping her abuser with a pregnancy, and shoplifting because she needed a nest egg... of clothes?

Little things pissed me off like how Eve had never been in a car before (cmon seriously??) but then she'd always loved the new car smell, and she'd been driving since she was 13. Also, for some reason, the EMTs wore scrubs? Yeah, no.

It took me three days to slog through this and I really wish I would have DNF'd because I'll never get that time back damn it.

‼️ MUST READ ALERT ‼️

I finished my #betaread of Lethal from Cassandra Robbins at 2.19 this morning and I am obsessed!! Obsessed I tell you!! Not sure she knew what she was getting into when she let me bulldoze my way into her life but she’s stuck with me! My 80+ ranty PMs she woke u to might give her an indication 😂😂

Seriously though this story is MC Perfection. A 5 star 2019 Favourite for me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not sure how I'm going to wait for more stories from this author - a new favourite for me. I need more of these MC characters ASAP. Seriously, some of the very best MC writing I've read.

Blade is EVERYTHING I want in an MC alpha - he drove me insane (in a good way). I alternated between wanting to junk punch him, declare my undying love for him & climb him like a tree. He’s DELICIOUS and MEAN & SWEET. Gah! 🔥🔥 Now I have to say Eve is not your average romance heroine. She might be young, but she has LIVED a lot in her 18 years and knows her mind and knows how to get exactly what she wants and more importantly, what she deserves!

Together they are explosive. Definitely recommend.

*3.5* The story begins with the H taking the h as payment for overdue money owed to the club by her loser brother. She’s a virgin (because of course she is), she’s also gorgeous (check and check), but wait, she’s not like other girls!

MC club primary setting
Previous ow drama, (no ow sex)
Drugs/drunks/fighting
Push/pull
The h lacks a formal education
Klepto

The hero says some outrageously despicable things to her. I mean, at one point he tells her that if he wants another woman to drop to her knees and give him a BJ in front of her, she will accept it and not say a word. But at the same point, he is completely smitten with her, even though he fights it with every fiber in his being.

The fmc is only 18, so I can somewhat forgive her immaturity and lack of thoughtful decision making. She was constantly lying.

Despite my complaints, by the end of the story, I was happy they ended up together. Maybe only because they deserved each other.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: ☹️🙃☺️
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Eve Smith - she works at a game booth at a traveling carnival. When bad man from the Disciples Motorcycle club come to get what they are owed from her family. She knows her brother Benny owes them. He stole their money and drugs. Her father is in a wheelchair and takes oxygen to help him breathe and Benny has disappeared.

The Heroes: Blade McCormick (a.k.a. Jason) - ex Navy seal and president of the Disciples MC. He is a beautiful but brutal man and is not a good guy. The Disciples are one percenters and are one of the strongest MC’s on the west coast.

The Story: The story begins on Eve’s eighteenth birthday when the Disciples come to get their due, but then flashes back to two years before when Eve first meets Blade McCormick. She is tall, blonde and thin, her family has nothing and travels from place to place, where people think she is nothing. She shoplifts to get necessities for herself and her family. Her dad and brother sell drugs and get involved with the MC.

Blade remembers the beautiful girl he met two years before and when Benny is nowhere to be found, he decides to take Benny’s sister in lieu of what is owed to the MC. I liked the premise of this book, though I hate that Eve is so young. Though given her background and family, she has grown up faster than most girls.

These guys really are bad guys. Not only do they take Eve against her will, but they brand her with with the disciples logo (cross with angel wings about the size of a quarter). Blade claims her for himself. One thing I really liked about this one is that the MC makes bank and Blade’s room at the clubhouse shows it. His room is the size of a double wide trailer, has a pool table and sitting area, a refrigerator, a king size bed and a huge en suite bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a huge shower. There is even a pool outside. Not what you normally see in MC romance. She even gets to go for a makeover and a ‘pretty woman’ shopping spree.

There are some things in this book that I did dislike quite a bit. Especially the treatment of women within the MC. For example, on two occasions when Blade goes to tell people not to touch Eve, he puts his hands on her shoulders and loudly announces, “This is mine!”, not “She is mine!”, showing that he sees her as an object, not a person. Also he basically makes her stay in his room or in his house and she can’t leave without his permission and a club member to take her out. She is basically a prisoner.

Narration was done by Devon Grace and Troy Duran and both do a great job. I actually think I bought this audiobook more for the fact that Troy Duran did the narration than for the story itself. Though I did like the blurb. Devon grace has a youthful feminine voice which I liked, though the book begins with her speaking in a low slightly monotone whisper. Her voice shows more emotion before too long.

Lethal is book 1 in The Disciples and overall it was an ok read. The first time Blade lays eyes on Eve she is 16, the second time she is 18 and he takes her as payment for her brothers debt. What follows is a series of events that annoyed me. Branding, constantly threatening to be with OW, hot and cold behavior. What I did like was Blade being totally into Eve and obsessing about her and although he claimed to be interested in two of the club girls he did nothing which confused him. So now what ruined the book for me was that Eve was a liar and manipulator and I hated what she did because I felt the author deceived me about her character. Now with all that said I honestly couldn't put this book down. So while I had issues, I'm willing to read book 2.

Still a pretty solid MC read. One of the few I’ve actually liked.

This was a reread. And I agree with my original assessment.

The MC prez H takes an innocent 18-year old h as payment for her brother’s debts.

The H has been living it up as a hard partying bachelor in an MC. When he brings the h back to his clubhouse he has no intention of entering into a relationship, but those intentions start circling the drain almost immediately. He has her branded as his woman before they even leave her house and it all goes down hill from there for our poor resistant Hero.

The h may be innocent in some ways, but she’s a scrappy survivor. And while she may not have many choices in the situation she’s found herself in, she is clever and resourceful, and she does what she has to do to gain some security.

I loved how this H was determined to not be monogamous. He’s full of bluster and threats, but he’s too crazy about the h to ever carry anything out. I really love an H who is just out of his element and not understanding his own feelings and actions. He’s so confused about what a jealous possessive psycho he becomes with the h…. 😈

I loved how he didn’t really want the h to change. 😍He liked her unmarked skin and her innocence. He wasn’t looking to turn her into a glorified club whore. He’s shared women in the past but never once does he suggest or think about sharing the h or doing anything with her in public. I think this is what made the book for me. He has no interest in dirtying her up, except in his bed. Even the brand he gives her is put somewhere that is discreet, when normally it’s put on the wrist. 💕

I also like that he’s trying to move his MC to more legit means of making money. He’s growing up and sees the danger their business puts all his brothers in… and now his girl. He’s still not a good guy, but the drug aspect of MCs has always bugged me. I liked knowing that the h (and her babies) wasn’t going to spend her life dealing with that nonsense.

Bottom Line? This is one of the better MCs I’ve read, and I’m not really an MC fan, so take that however you like. It doesn’t get 5-stars because of the H’s drug use and how long he chose to push the h away, even after he knew he loved her. He left her to do a very significant thing on her own, and it really bothered me even though he was immediately remorseful. If he hadn’t acknowledged his feelings yet, it wouldn’t have hit me as hard, but as it was written, it was unforgivable for this reader. And then I would have appreciated a more satisfying resolution the Ow drama. 🤷🏼‍♀️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⚠️SAFETY SQUAD SPOILERS⚠️

- no cheating or sharing

- OW drama - you think it’s gonna be worse than it actually turns out. The OW doesn’t really go away, for *reasons*, but other than her kinda being around as a question mark, she doesn’t play a huge role, IMO. The H doesn’t touch her after the h is at the clubhouse. He doesn’t have feelings for the OW besides her being convenient. There are photos of her up in his room, but the h takes them down, with little fuss. He tells the OW it’s over between them very early on, even though he strings her along a little while he’s actively resisting the h. It’s obvious to everyone he has no interest in the OW, and by the end the h doesn’t feel threatened by her.

- OM drama - the H goes all *HULK SMASH* on anyone who even looks at the h

- dubcon - I mean she’s been kidnapped and held against her will… the consent is a bit dubious, but she doesn’t put up too much of a protest.

- the h is an 18 year old virgin

- the H is a 30-ish manwhore

- casual drug use - the H uses coke on a fairly regular basis but he only does it once in the book…. He indicates he’s not really into it anymore

- the MC is cooking up drugs for sale, like Meth, but it’s their own designer drug

- the H smokes but he is quitting at the end, for the h

- the MC owns a strip club and the H goes there after he’s with the h, but he’s completely uninterested and leaves

- the H literally brands her with a branding iron behind her ear to mark her as his property before he takes her from her home.

- in order to scare her into compliance after she runs off, he offers her up to a pimp… obviously, he doesn’t follow through, but she’s pretty traumatized

- the h gets pregnant after telling the H she is infertile. It’s left ambiguous on who *trapped* whom. The H kinda thinks she’s lying but goes without protection anyway with her for the first time in his life. And it’s never explicitly confirmed if she lied… and his thoughts on the matter make it seem like he wasn’t as opposed to knocking her up as he was letting on….

Audiobook:

I literally could NOT listen to this. I have never in my life requested a refund for a book, audiobook or movie. But I had to make an exception for this. I really liked the male narrator but the female narrator was atrocious! Her version of “inflection” and “tone” was just whispering. The smexy scenes that she narrated were AWKWARD AF! Her voice was so boring I had to listen to it on 1.6 speed just to make it more interesting. It was so bad I actually gave up at the half way mark and returned the audiobook!

The book:

After returning the audiobook, I downloaded the book on KU and read the last half and enjoyed it much more! I actually wish I had read this from the beginning.

Lethal is about Jason and Eve. Jason is the president of a Motor Cycle club. Eve works at a carnival, lives in a trailer park and takes care of her sick father and druggie brother. Jason basically kidnaps Eve and decides to make her his “property” because her brother owes Jason’s MC’s money.

I like MC novels and this was very typical MC: misogynistic men who see women as a piece of meat. Since this is fiction and I’m familiar with this trope, it didn’t bother me. Also, I am a sucker for an alpha-hole, which Jason definitely was! Eve annoyed me sometimes, but she was tolerable most of the time.

There something so special about this story that has left me wanting more! I loved it so much I can’t stop thinking about it! Eve was quite young. She grew up in a carnival family moving from place to place doing the best to survive. After losing her mother, she had her sick father and drug addicted brother to deal with. She wasn’t naïve by any means, but there was something about her I really liked. She was a survivor.

Jason/Blade grew up in an MC world he was older, an ex Navy seal and President of the MC. He was a bad boy that never stuck to just one woman but he had redeeming qualities and he evolved over time and made me like him very much!

The connection between Eve and Jason/Blade was strong and palpable. I really am at a loss for words about Jason/Blade and how he felt about Eve. I loved him! And the steamy, sexy times! Swoon!

I love your writing Cassandra Robbins and I can’t wait for what’s to come in this series! More please!

4☆ I can’t help loving this messed up family of antiheroes. Well, except for Crystal—I’d like to set her hair on fire.

➳❦ "Let's go, Angel." She sighs as if it's an inconvenience. My lips twitch. "Such a little badass," I say, squeezing her hand. "But I'm the only one allowed to play with knives, little girl."

This is a gritty biker soap opera and totally addictive if you’re in the mood for that. I think it’s the first mc romance I got into after my obsession with Jax Teller was born. 😏

➳❦ He’s almost too beautiful to be real. I take a step back, tilt my head up, and realize that I’m fucked. There will be no negotiating. There will be no mercy. It’s all right there in his pretty green eyes.

I’ll start with this very important piece of information: Jason “Blade” McCormick is ridiculously hot and fun to watch. One of my favorite antiheroes. This brilliant, badass, brutal young MC Prez (who loves to read, mind you) becomes obsessed with the gorgeous, scrappy, barely literate carnival rat “gypsy” who crashes into his life when her brother steals from the club.

➳❦ Not one tattoo is on this body. I almost feel guilty for putting my mark on her. Almost. My hand itches to reach out and jerk that towel free. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been with a woman who has no tattoos. I decide right now that she will never get one. I want to see my tatted hands against her porcelain skin.

I was laughing my ass off at Jason/Blade trying to resist his feels by pretending to be an enormous dick, meanwhile he’s having an internal meltdown over this girl. But Eve is a force to be reckoned with in her own right, and it’s very entertaining learning about the simultaneously ruthless, debauched, loyal Disciples MC through her resourceful outsider’s eyes. Both characters were hardened by the lives they were born into and have some demons, but find they have big squishy ❤️ when it comes to each other. And damn, do Blade and Eve make fire. 🔥 🔥 🔥 Like burn-down-the-clubhouse-hot.

➳❦ Her hair spills over her shoulders and breasts like a waterfall of golden honey. Then I hear her moan as my tongue and teeth suck and swirl on her finger. “Look at me, Angel.” Her eyes blink to mine. She obeys so perfectly and for one split moment, I see my future.

The found family scenes and friendships are entertaining and have substance. I especially loved broody, insightful Ryder, and his book is my other favorite in this series. I adore the Doug&Dolly show; Doug’s such a charismatic, intuitive, haunted side character, and Dolly is an indignant little spitfire. 🫶 They’re hilarious ride or die BFF material and you’ll get to see a lot more of them if you keep going. This book is a wild, sexy, escapist ride, but it’s not sweet and fluffy. It’s harsh and OTT. Be prepared for the crassest bastards ever who are also occasionally charming.

Re-read
I love this MC series, but at least part of it is because of the hot Audio by Troy Duran. I will say his voice combined with the cover model = totally what I imagine Blade looking/sounding like.

"I took a bullet, Eve, because I love you more than I love myself and if you’re not by my side… then my life, my reason for being is gone."

Jason/Blade (30-ish, MC Prez, sexy bastard, selfish, Big D, 1%-ers) takes innocent Eve (18, virgin, clepto, manipulator, survivor) as payment after her crack-head brother stole from him. Eve goes willingly since Blade promises to send her dying father to a nursing home so he can get care. Blade feels a strong pull towards Eve, but he refuses to be with one woman, and he's convinced he's going to keep his side ho, Crystal. Blade spends 90% of the book telling Eve she's just a piece of ass and he'll never be faithful to her, but he still provides for her. Eve is determined to make Blade hers by any means possible so that she not only gets financial security but also gets continued care for her dad. Some club drama happens since they're 1%'ers and are involved in a lot of illegal shit (drugs, weapons, strip clubs - no human trafficking). Eventually, Blade kind of admits his feelings for her and they get a HFN. I say HFN because their story kind of continues in the rest of the series.

BLADE/JASON: He's a dick. He treats her like shit most of the time. He definitely says shit that pissed me the fuck off. I'd have sold myself on the street before I let him talk that shit to my face. That said - he fucks good. Also, wtf did the author insist on saying "Jason/Blade" at the beginning of the chapter. Pick a name and stick to it.

EVE: I applaud her ingenuity and determination. She had me convinced of her lies. I didn't even blame her for not stabbing Blade or Crystal. She does let him get away with treating her like shit, but I understand that she's 18 and she's worried about her dad and doing the only thing she can think of to survive.

SEX: It's hot and there's plenty of it.

CHEATING: He doesn't cheat, even though he says he's going to. He does have that whore Crystal sitting on his lap at one point and rubbing up against him, but he doesn't do anything with her.

ENDING: I did think it ended a little too quickly, but that's ok. There is still more to come.

DISCIPLES: The Disciples are 1%-ers, meaning they do a lot of illegal shit. Mostly make and sell drugs. Their clubhouse is full of patch bunnies willing to spread their legs for anyone and all of the men are taking them up on the offers. The MMCs in this book skate really close to the edge on what's considered cheating. They're def not choir boys.

ANGST: Even though this particular book is sort of light - the next two books for sure are full of ANGST!!!!! Like gut clenching, heartbreaking angst.

Again - series is good.

I wanted to lurve this more than I did. The cover is lickable, the premise is honey to this bee, and I was in an MC kinda mood. Should've been perfection.

But...

I didn't even remember that I'd already read this one. I put it on my TBR after I'd read it. Ugh. That's how forgettable it was to me. Nothing original. A whole bunch of angst and OW drama (which I'm cool with btw) thrown against the standard MC dude struggling to stay true to his brothers/club and still get the woman of his dreams - that's the plot in a nutshell. And it's one I've read over and over with other MC books.

I suppose my disappointment stems less from the MC aspect of it all (because it's a plot that wasn't trying to veer off the road most traveled), and more from my hope that the girl's background would've played a bigger roll in the storyline?? She's a carnie, yet that aspect just disappears as an interesting plot point from the moment she's club property. Instead of lending a layer of another outside-the-box lifestyle to the standardized trope, the carnie background was used more like the typical 'girl from a broken/bad home' excuse for why she fit in/accepted the MC life. A missed opportunity by my thinking.

*sigh*

At least, the cover is still lickable.

"She has wrapped her soul around mine and I never want this feeling to end."❤

This was surprisingly a good MC story about a stubborn alpha-hero, Jason.. who wants to bend the heroine. Eve, to his will, and a heroine who was strong enough to survive and not cower to him.

"All you have to do is shut up and look good. Even someone with your limited amount of education can figure that out.”

"I’m not the one. I’m a bad guy. I told you this years ago. I will not allow this. You will know who owns you and you will obey."

"You don’t get a right to feel anything except what I let you.”

"If only she would bend to me, I wouldn’t have to do this..."

And with all of his dominance over Eve, she taught him how to live and love. He falls hard for her, and he learns to be monogamous, and bend to her will. It was a great way to see how his character evolved, from his extreme dominance over her in he beginning, to how loving he was towards the end.

"My eyes find hers and everything in me is in her. She has become my reason for breathing..."💕

"I took a bullet, Eve, because I love you more than I love myself and if you’re not by my side...Then my life, my reason for being is gone.”

Rating: 4.3 stars 🌟

Exhale, Angel. I’m still gonna fuck you even if you pass out.”

It's been a hot minute since I read an MC romance, and this one has been on my TBR for way too long. And with that cover, it's only so long I can resist.

If you like fluffy MC romance, this definitely isn't for you. But if you like me and want a gritty MC romance with a truly morally gray anti hero who is emotionally unavailable and deliciously toxic, well this will do the trick.

I love imperfect characters, and it just doesn't get more imperfect than these two. Blade/Jason is the president of The Disciples. And this MC is not the Disney version. Their misoginism runs deep. And if that's something that will bother you, well, not the book for you.

Eve is collateral damage after her junkie brother disappears without making good on his debt to the MC. So she gets bought like cattle and branded as one for payment. This is a girl with all the odds stacked against her; her mother is a dead junkie, she barely had an education as a traveling carnie, but she's a fighter. She's equally terrified and attracted to Blade. But she refuses to take the crumbs Blade is willing to offer.

I loved watching Blade struggle with his beliefs of club life and what he can have. He doesn't believe in monogamy but Eve refuses to settle for anything but.

This was a heart pounding, sizzling hot, gritty and unapologetic. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Not a bad read.

The Hero was an asshole alot of times but there just wasn’t any groveling.. yes hes sweet to her but he doesn’t apologize for the comments he makes.

Hopefully someone can answer this.. did the heroine lie about not being able to get pregnant so she could secure her spot with Hero? Because it really came across like that especially near the end.

Also, whats with the Hero eating healthy organic food but having no problem snorting coke LOL I know its a minor random thing but it stuck out to me.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. I love the foul mouth bikers. Blade just takes it to a new level. You want to love him and smack him at the same time. Eve is so innocent but not at the same time. I also fell in love with some of the side characters. The twists will keep you guessing. Do not miss this start to the Disciples.

MUST. READ. RIGHT. NOW!!!

As my first read from this Author, I am officially obsessed with her words!!!

Not only is this my first read, but this is also the writer's first foray into MC... Let me tell you - SHE. NAILED. IT. Every aspect that you love about MC is in this book.

The angst in this story is heavy. I wanted to throw my Kindle at times, then I would go back to all the heart eyes.

Seriously, you HAVE TO READ this book!

Crap story

When I was reading the description of this book one of the reviews said basically Jax Teller who? And that Blade is so steamy it would melt my kindle well author lady your review is crap and this did not melt my kindle. To even compare this to SOA is an insult. First off the Eve is a lying, manipulating child and Blade is a douche..He takes her and brands her as his property after her brother steals from the club her father is dying from emphysema and Blade makes a deal if she comes willingly he will make sure her father gets the treatment he needs and that no one other them him will touch her. So long story short he moves her into his room gets her all set up with everything she could possibly want and well when he claims her the next day he tries to make her take a morning after pill because he forgot to ask her if she was on the pill and she tells him she can't get pregnant that she is sterile due to her appendix rupturing and bacteria getting into her fallopian tubes. He believes her and let's it go now whether or not this chick really and truly believed that I don't know because I only made it half way through the book but I did skim through to see what happened at the end and when I saw she turned up pregnant I went back to see how it came about what I read disgusted me and made me feel better about me not finishing this garbage. So after he gets the urine test done and shes still not convinced she's not dying of cancer yes I swear this stupid witch actually tried to say she must be dying of cancer rather then admit she screwed up and could possibly be pregnant. The author tried to make Eve a bad ass but she was more childish then anything. Anyways back to what I was saying after they confirm the pregnancy Eve is still reaching for some other reasoning to explain her illness because she's terrified blade will put her out and she still needs to time to steal money from him so it's too soon for him to let her go *sigh* god I hated this but this part here seriously ticked me off so read it for ur self....I move directly in front of her and look her straight in those baby blues. “I’m saying exactly that. I. don’t. want. kids! I’m the president of a motorcycle club, Eve. Grow the fuck up. You did this. Now you get to deal with it.” Her breathing is harsh as the tears slide down her cheeks. She looks up at the ceiling and back at me. “I thought… I lov…” She swallows and clears her throat, all signs of the tears gone. “I thought you needed me. But all you are is a scared, pathetic thug who kills and sells drugs.” Badass. This author's idea of bad ass is a joke because of what Eve just said to him she calls that being a bad ass???? The whole book was a joke I'm so glad I didn't waste any money on this one I'll stick to binge watching Sons to get my MC fix

4 love you and hate you stars!

Oh man, Blade! You had me want to strangle you and then straddle you through this whole fucking book! I loved you so much and wanted to hate you so much as well.

Seriously, every time he did something that made you so mad, he some how made you so hot instantly afterwards that you forgot to be mad at him.

Then theres Eve, girl was spunky and a fighter. She fought for herself in so many different way. She fought for safety and security. And I won't lie, there is going to come a point in this book where you question how much you like her, but just remember all the shit she lived through with and without Blade.

Having started with the 4th book in this series (being in complete and utter love with Axel by the way) it might have given me a better judge of this book, because I went in liking Blade and Eve. Knowing once they figured their shit out, they were destined to be together. That isn't a spoiler because Ryder basically tells you that in the beginning of the book.

Another solid read from this author, and it's not a cliffy for the couple, but boy do you want to pick up the next book.

I did the audio on this one, and it wasn't bad at all!! But I'll have to continue with reading since the next audio won't be out until January :(

Pretty solid/typical MC read. Our h (Eve) is a carny-kid, and first met H (Blade/Jason) 2-years earlier when she was 16-years old. (he’s the president of the Disciples MC gang) Eve’s brother is a loser and owes the MC $$; she’s pretty hot, so Blade takes Eve as payment.

Eve waffled between being feisty & tough, and immature & annoying. Blade is torn between being a super tough biker prez, and a lurve sick puppy, so he of course acts like an asshole… a lot. (buckets of cruel push/pull shenanigans) Some parts are a smidge unbelievable, and pretty out there, but I just continued to go with it.

Bottom Line- Overall, a pretty entertaining read. For me, it lacked that gritty/real feel to it, but was still pretty enjoyable. **For safety gang folks… no cheating between MC’s, but he threatens it. The usual MC stuff... Sex, drugs, booze… women are going to be treated like skanks, and not super respected.

First of all this is the first book I’ve read from this author and definitely won’t be my last! Intense, drama and hotness over load in this book! Eve will do anything to protect her father. But will Eve become the Mc’s presidents property? Blade is the president of his Mc and hot and alpha galore he’s not a good person but will Eve test that theory? Love this book and I didn’t want it to end I want more! Eve is one bad chick love her and Blade he’s just damn I have no words that can I have him? Lol 5/5 stars can’t wait to read more of this series
