Daddy's Rules

Rate this book
If I can't live within a modest budget for a year, I lose it all. I'm going to need a daddy...

The terms of my movie-star father's will are ridiculous, but I don't want the world to watch me flounder and fail and I'm sure as hell not going to let my inheritance go to my cheating stepmom.

So I seek out a professional, a firm-handed man who knows how to take a spoiled girl in hand and teach her responsibility the old-fashioned way--with a strap applied to her bare bottom.

When my disciplinarian turns out to be a man I've had a crush on for years, however, the relationship doesn't stay professional for long, and soon I'm calling him daddy as he takes me in his arms and gives me exactly what I need. But with my future on the line and two vengeful paparazzi threatening my reputation and even my life, can I learn to follow daddy's rules?

Publisher's Note: Daddy's Rules includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

One of my favourite kinky books I read this year. I love the story, and I love Owen, especially. Not going to lie, when she calls him Daddy, it does something to me.

Yes, Daddy!

“Daddy’s Rules” is a professionally written, engaging, fast-paced, erotic romance with well-developed, likeable main characters, a money-grubbing step-monster and a celebrity blog reporter who delights in writing spiteful, humiliating articles involving the heroine, Jordan. Recently deceased, Jordan’s celebrity father provided lavishly for his daughter, materially, but neglected to demonstrate other critical aspects of parenting such as; unconditional love, emotional guidance and support, undivided attention, caring reassurance and personal accountability. At the reading of her father’s will, one unforeseen stipulation requires Jordan to demonstrate financial responsibility for one year or her inheritance is forfeit to her current step-monster.

The hero, Owen, is the deceased father’s attorney, family friend, Jordan’s secret crush and a man who satisfies his need for dominance/control through providing counseling as well as discipline to contracted clients. Jordan stumbles across a professional disciplinarian online and decides to make an appointment. At the first meeting, Jordan is astonished to discover the professional disciplinarian she has hired is Owen and he is equally stunned when he realizes his latest client is Jordan.

Teeming with great secondary characters, an endearing rescued Yorkie named Beast and two other adorable, adopted canines the story-line is also permeated with suspense, angst, drama, several plot twists and a bit of action. The chemistry between the lead characters is incendiary, although Owen does his best to resist any relationship beyond strictly professional, he eventually succumbs to his intense desire for Jordan. The Daddy Dom arrangement works effortlessly, due to the character’s age difference, contextual aspects of the relationship dynamic and does not include elements typically utilized in age regression, role play situations.

“Daddy’s Rules” is a fun, sweetly erotic, engaging, story filled with witty dialog, terrific characterizations and heartwarming appeal.

I think i read atleast one of Kara's books in the daddy demands.. so i wanted to give this a shot.. it was an okay read.. i did stop maybe mid book cuz it did drag.

Jordon was kinda of a spoiled brat due to well her hollywood father never even taking any time to spend with her.. she just wanted someone to care for her.. once he died she had problems balancing out her stuff.. spending on things but they werent bad stuff.. donating to places, the shelter she worked at.. nothing bad.. but she was still over doing it.. she had a plan get a guy who delivers discipline to people who go over their limits.. little does she know that guy happens to be her fathers friend and lawyer Owen.. who has been wanting her for awhile.. but never did anything.. they have ups and downs at first.. not wanting to break the professional/personal stuff.. but that doesn't last..

I didn't give it a higher rating cuz 1. He still took on other clients (until the end no sexual stuff with them just spankings) and to much running away.. that i got tired of it.

Low agnst, no ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy times, not a manwhore..

Reccomend- maybe

OWEN’S NAUGHTY LITTLE GIRL

Life for Jordan may have seen like she had it made, being the daughter of a well-known Hollywood star, and even a child star herself. But looks can be deceiving. Jordan may have had money, and even fame, but what she wanted and craved most were love and acceptance, and that isn’t what she ever had with her parents.

“Your mom left you behind for money, and your dad never gave you anything but money.”

Now her father is dead, and the reading of his will has shocking news for several people, including the latest of the greedy step-mothers. Jordan is expected to learn to live on a budget and be responsible, and she has one year to prove herself or Denzi will get her money too. The only person who seems to care is her father’s friend, and attorney, Owen Holloway.

The plot will have Jordan having a crush on Owen, but knowing that it can go nowhere. She is so out of control, lost, confused and in need of help—of discipline that she will find a disciplinarian online and apply to be held to the fire and gain control by a Mr. Smith. But what happens when she arrives at her meeting and Mr. Smith is an alias for someone she knows very well and has secretly had a crush on? Will he still correct her or send her away?

“I realize how much control I’ve given him and it makes me feel so submissive a fiercer fire ignites inside of me. Giving this man all the control is the hottest thing I’ve ever experienced.”

Owen was never happy with the neglect Jordan received from her father and just giving her money rather than love, affection, and correction. If she were his, he would have shown her how a Daddy takes care of the one he loves, and sometimes that means discipline too. The one thing he didn’t count on was Jordan coming to him and asking for his help, for guidance in setting and maintaining a budget, and for discipline to keep her in line. When she calls him Sir or Daddy, it just helps reinforce what they both want and need. The age difference is more of a concern to Owen than his little girl, Jordy, but he wants this as much as she does.

“Being a daddy dom has nothing to do with fatherhood and everything to do with a deeper level of trust, control, and care. It’s the ultimate gift of submission from someone who wants to be completely vulnerable and innocent. Someone who gives definitive trust to another, knowing their daddy will always put their best interests and needs first, all the while allowing them to be exactly who they are.”

I loved the story, the chemistry between Owen and Jordan, how he helps her cope, accept when she makes a mistake and is stem but loving with the discipline. He fights the physical relationship that she wants, trying to do what he thinks is best for her, but even he realizes that they are destined to be together—even if it is only for a little while. I like how he doesn’t tell her what she must change in her lifestyle; he makes her look at her budget, her finances and decide what can change. Jordan acquiesces to his control, accepts his guidance and punishments. When they do take their relationship to a sexual one, it is explosive and explicit. The story also has some secrets, mystery, suspense, and surprises.

For a Dominant/Daddy I found this character to be very "wishy-washy" with regards to his feelings towards Jordan; one minute he has his tongue down her throat the next, he's pushing her away telling her he isn't interested. There were also definite plot holes - why and who was sending Jordan threatening letters, who trashed her condo and took, what police interpreted as a long knife, a sharp object and slice through her sheets into her mattress. Who stole Jordan identity and was racking up debt on her credit cards mention in the last chapter of the book. There is not enough substance to this relationship to have a part two, in my opinion. The two stars are for Jordan's character who, by the end of the book, became an independent business entrepreneur without the use of her father's money.

WOW. Honestly I wouldn't be shocked if this ended with "...and they lived happily ever after" because what in the ever freaking wishy wash love was this. It was so bad and I'm like 99.999% sure all the four and five star ratings are fake. Like they have to be because this book just isn't wort all that.

So our main character is almost thirty but acts like a thirteen year old child. She is a rich, privileged, and haven't achieved a single thing in her life other than living off her fathers money. She then in two months become an entrepreneur with a product that has great potential. The products was fucking dog clothes. No way in hell would I believe she made so much money on that shit that she could donate all of her fathers multimillion will for charity. No way.

The guy acted like a child too with all of the back and forth going around. Like they literally had their tongues down each others throats and then two seconds later he would be like we can't. More time would pass and he would then accidentally go down on her. Like just date for Gods sake.

In the end the evil character was forgiven for her very illegal actions since she had a bad childhood. Then a new evil character came up and guess what... it was evil number 1's brother. Wow. Honestly this book was just literal trash. I wasted my time reading it and wish I could take those moments back. Worst book of the year and if you liked it you need therapy (jk but maybe get better taste tho).

This was such an amazing story to read. Jordan father, who was a famous Hollywood actor passes away and leaves clauses to his will in order for her to inherit. Jordan is floundering, shes always had money and now she has to live on a budget. She needs help and it comes in the form of Mr Smith, a disciplinarian, who turns out to be her father's lawyer and friend and the man she has a major crush on ...... Owen Holloway.
Owen thrives on being a disciplinarian and has a willpower of steel. But his Achilles heel is Jordan, being nearly 20 years older than her, he tries to stay away from her but their attraction to each another is overpowering. He becomes the perfect Daddy Dom and Jordan thrives under his discipline. He wants the best for her and wants to protect and care for her. He wants her to know her worth. They embark on an amazing journey together. I love Owen as a Daddy Dom, he's not this overly alpha male that makes everything about him. He understands Jordan and knows that she needs structure and discipline, after all she run wild for so long. She wanted her father attention. But he just tolerated her and gave her materialistic stuff and not his love. Take a chance.....read this amazing story. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

Jordan is on her own. Her father is gone and what he left her in his will has her broken. How will she survive? Owen Holloway is Jordy’s father’s attorney. He knows all about what is in the will and how low her father was. Her father never once showed love for his daughter. Always buying her affection, giving her money. He didn’t teach her how to live. When Jordy reaches out through an ad for a daddy, she is shocked to see who it is. Her fantasies are about to come true. Owen resisted long enough. Now he gets to baby Jordy and show her what it means to be daddy’s girl. I was surprised that her father didn’t show any love for her. I mean come on, you have two ex-wives and they both were gold diggers. Thank goodness for Owen. He cares about Jordy a great deal. It takes a scandal to make her wake up and realize that she needs to become independent. Always a smart thing for a young woman. She makes something of herself without any help. Plus she also has a man that loves her and lets her be herself. I had planned to read this book when it first came out back in 2019 but never got around to it. Was worth the wait.

Gaining Independence

My first read of this author but geez I was blown away by this superbly written forbidden Daddy Dom romance with the most unexpected, huge twist at the end! You simply have to read this intriguing relationship with the perfect HEA. I can only but highly recommend this book and this amazing author, that I will be following avidly! Who would have guessed at the start of this read who the disciplinarian Mr Smith would be? Jordan has been ignored all her life by her Hollywood actor father, no love and without parental guidance only money thrown at her! Her mother left when she was 12. So now she needs a firm hand with strict boundaries! Will she continue with her rebellious ways and will she end up giving away her daddies millions to Denzo the hateful stepmother? Will Mr Smith be able to control Miss Jones In Her recklessness? Can Jordan and will she, gain her independence now that she fits his relationship rule book?

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. This is one deliciously naughty little romance - and I loved it! This story not only involves an older man/younger woman scenario but also explores a daddy dom/little girl sub relationship, with rules and spankings and other kinky bits. The intimate scenes are explicit and incredibly erotic - I was hot and bothered (in a good way) by the third chapter. And the story only gets hotter and steamier! The chemistry between Jordan and Owen sizzles right from the start and the romance that builds between them throughout the story is heartwarming and genuine. The plot of the story is intriguing and entertaining, and even contains a bit of suspense, some heartbreak and a touch of humour throughout. The heat level of this story is definitely steamy and incredibly hot. But be warned, if you are sensitive to or easily offended by alternative lifestyles or by explicitly erotic scenes including spanking and other kinky stuff, this book is not for you. I, however, loved it!

Learn to live in a budget or else she would be left penniless after a year….
Her father had left a clause in his will stating that if she failed to control her life and her spending, she would lose her inheritance and any money would pass to her hated stepmother. She had known no parental love really treated as only a nuisance and this had left her with a broken heart.

She seeks the help of a friend and also s known disciplinarian she hopes that they will be able to help her manage her spending and then also help her to manage her life, she is being threatened by irate family and they are also setting paparazzi on her she knows that her life and her legacy are on the line but in truth all she has ever wanted was to have some one care for her, love her and at the age of twenty eight this certainly had not happened.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Daddy's Rules
By Kara Kelley
Narrated by Tor Thom, Fiona Clare

Jordan and Owen are the most unlikely pair. Owen was Jordan's father's friend and upon his death is helping her live up to the terms of his will. Jordan has always loved Owen from afar. Old enough to be her father, she knew he had no interest in her. Teaching her to live within her means? She may need quite a few lessons, and with his type of encouragement, she may make more than one mistake. This is a spicy story, packed action and that feeling of accomplishment. I love Kelley's style of writing. She draws me in with a couple I will root for and adds a story I can sink my teeth into. I easily fell into this story, loved the characters and the dogs! (They added a bit of levity and love!)

Tor Thom is the perfect dom. His voice is commanding, yet loving and is definitely how I would imagine Owen would sound. Fiona Clare comes in as Jordan, a bit bratty and grows as she matures. I love this team, they know how to meld a story together and tell it as it should be. This one is no exception. Loved their performance.

Jordan has always acted out for her father’s attention but all she got in return was money and things. Owen is her father’s lawyer and friend who thinks what Jordan really needs is a firm hand and structure. When Jordy’s father is gone, she is now left on her own to find her way in the world. She has no purpose, is constantly in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, and runs the risk of being cutoff from her own inheritance. Enter Owen. He refuses to let Jordan’s former step-mothers get a dime of what is rightfully hers. His ways may seem unorthodox and maybe this is all wrong, she is his friend’s daughter, after all. Will Jordy allow Owen to help her or will she continue to run from her problems and cause more chaos? Will Owen get over his own thoughts? Can they both get past the idea of them being together is wrong? Guess you need to find out.

Jordan just may be the epitome of the “poor little rich girl”. She has never wanted for anything material, as her movie star father had always showered her with money and had bailed her out of any problems that may have cropped up. She never learned to be responsible. However, she also never received any emotional love or guidance and was VERY poor when it came to happiness. After his death, financial ruin awaited her if she could not prove to be self-sufficient. She knew she needed help with her self-management so she seeked out a professional disciplinarian. He turned out to be more than she bargained for, and much more than she could have ever hoped for. A really touching story of how a Little finding her true Daddy can grow and flourish despite the best (worst) efforts of others. The discipline is firm and fair, the romance sweet and sincere, and the sex erotic as ever. Not as kinky as some, but a quality DDlg story none the less. 4 Stars

Not bad!

Owen is a daddy dom!Jordan is his submissive but she didn't start out that way.She had a crush h on him and he was good friends with her father until he pass away. She was always feeling unloved, last one that her father would think off,he would just give money to fix not seeing her.Until of reading the will and things changed for Jordan, she is put on a budget and a bunch of other rules and some involved spanking.Things changed not in a bad way at first but later on their is jealousy which split up Owen and Jordan for a while but the time apart makes Jordan a stronger person, independent not afraid to take small risks! This story wasn't bad,did I like it,yes, would I read anything by this author again, yes but everyone needs to make their own judgment call.I don't usually read this type of storyline very much,so I slow to make a firm judgment but I probably would at least give it try again.

Daddy's Rules by Kara Kelley

Jordan life is turned upside down when her famous father dies and changes his will leaving her very strict guidelines and only basic living allowance. Feeling lost and out of control she seeks a professional disciplinarian online who calls himself Mr. Smith. When she breaks one of the rules she is called to his office only to discover Mr. Smith is Owen Holloway her father's best friend and the guy she has been secretly fantasizing about for years.
Owen Holloway a lawyer and disciplinarian (dominant) known as Mr. Smith is suddenly faced with Jordan not the client known as Miss Jones. Life is about to very complicated but sometimes complicated can be good. Their journey isn't a easy one it has twist and turns and many growing pains along the way. Oh and lets not forget the adorable little sidekicks Beast, Hope and Crash ♥️

Sweet baby jezzums, everybody needs a Daddy Owen!!!!!! 😍🔥

Jordan seems to be your typical spoiled entitled rich girl. She lives off her father's money doing whatever she wants but there's more to her than that. When her father passes away she finds out that he has changed his will, and boy what a dozy of a change!

Owen is Jordan's father lawyer and friend. He plans on helping Jordan with the stipulations of the will but neither of them know how interesting those plans are gonna be.

I absolutely FLOVED this book! I went through so many feels while I read, I think I traumatized my poor Hubby lol. Smexy scenes, mouth watering discipline, a twist at the end that I NEVER saw coming and Beast...and Hope...and Crash!! But between you and me, Hope is my favorite ❤.

Wow, You'll Want To Read This More Than Once
Jordan and Owen will definitely take you on an emotional roller coaster. Wow, this is one book you'll want to read more than once. Well written with interesting characters and an engaging read. Sexy, hot and sensual. An older man, younger woman romance. Jordan's wealthy movie star Dad dies and leaves an interesting will. To comply she seeks help from his lawyer friend Owen. Things heat up pretty quick and their chemistry is explosive. The ending will blow you away. I read this as an advance reading copy and voluntarily chose to review.

A surprisingly interesting book. Jordan has to adhere to the stipulations of her father's will in order to inherit. Owen is just the man to help her out. They also are nursing a major attraction despite the age difference.

Owen and Jordy have a definite connection. The one thing I found so interesting is that neither of them seemed to suspect Jordy's mishaps were not committed by Jordy. Especially after the reading of the will.

This book turned out to have mystery and intrigue, along with a D/s vibe. You get an HEA, and a surprising twist at the end.

3.5 stars. I was able to read this book via Kindle Unlimited.

What can I say? This was a hot and sexy romp that had me turning the pages wondering what was going to happen next. I loved everything about it. Jordan isn't a typical spoiled girl. And when her father passes away, she is lost. With the conditions of the will, she is left with no choice but to follow it. Enter Owen! She's had a crush on him but when they get together, things turn explosive. What will happen when forces conspire against them? And the ending really threw me for a loop!! WOW!!! This was an awesome book and one that I will probably read over and over!

Sometimes life can be more than you expect but less than you need. Jordan has always felt left out, losing her Mother as a young woman and an indifferent father, she has never learned to live on responsibly on her own, but after her father passes away his will leaves her no choice. Thus begins her journey and with the help of Owen the man she has secretly loved, she is learning how to grow up with his guidence and loving hand. This was a enjoyable fast reading well wriiten story about a girl and her daddy and how their relationship develops into a happy ever after.

Daddy's Rules Kara Kelley is the story of Jordan and Owen.
Jordan's mother left her at an early age and her father threw money at her problems. So she has grown up not really knowing love or discipline. Now her father has died and as part of the will to inherit she must stand on her own. Jordan looks toward her father's friend Owen who is also her father's attorney for help. Owen knows how Jordan was raised and if she was his 'daughter' he would show her that and more.
Enjoyed this book and hope to read more from this author.

This was a really good Daddy Romance. The story was fresh and the characters dynamic was hot. In order to claim her inheritance, her father had some stipulations, the main one being that she has one year to grow up and prove she can manage that amount of money like an adult.

Knowing she will need help, she answers an advertisement for a disciplinarian. However, she gets more than she bargained for when she learns that 'Mr. Smith' is really Owen, the hot older man she's been crushing on for years.

Ha ha, he has his hands full with this one!I really enjoyed watching Jordan learn how to be independent, learning life skills and how to apply the strengths she has. There is more to her than the public is aware of.

I understood but was disappointed with some of the cruel and jealous events that targeted her. The mystery of why kept my interest throughout the book.

I liked the playful aspect to their relationship. Owen is a good mature match for her.

What a great concept. Learning to live fiscally sound. This was sweet and sad at the same time. Parental love is always needed because it is true that money can't buy true happiness. It can cover a multitude of sins but not the love needed to make the soul happy. I loved how Jordan finally grew up and accepted who she was and what she needed. And was able to take hold of her life.

Sensually sweet

This is my first book to read by Kara Kelley. I found it both sweet and sensual. The characters were complex, an introspective. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to my friends and anyone who enjoys a dynamic daddy Dom little girl story with some surprising twists and turns. It was one of the best that I have read in quite a while. I can't wait to read another I Miss Kelly stories.

I had so many emotions flowing through me while reading this book. Anger at Jordan’s dad for leaving her in the predicament he did. Frustration at Owen at his gosh-darn waffling. (I mean seriously, make up your mind already.) But also panty-melting lust at Owen’s sexy dominance. Fear about some of the dangerous shenanigans going on. And pride for Jordan. This was one fun, angsty book I could not put it down. ❤️

I enjoyed reading this story. The characters are very well done. I loved Owen from page one, he is open and honest. I did'nt like Jordan until near the end of the book. There is very hot chemistry between them. There are plenty of hot spicy sexy scenes and other elements to hold the readers interest. 4 Star Review Daddy’s Rules by Kara Kelly

Audio:
Kara Kelly is a relatively new author to me, however I have listened to both narrators previously.

This was an entertaining age gap story that ticked numerous boxes for me.

I am not a huge fan of age gap romance but the author did a good job.

Both Fiona Clare & Tor Thom did a good job with their narration. Not only are their voices easy to listen to but they brought all the passion and drama to life with their performances
