Annalise Alexis is a free-spirited mother of three who lives with her husband and kids in the heart of Texas. A huge fan of Firefly, and anything with Jason Momoa, Annalise combines her love of all things sexy and strange by writing in multiple genres including: science fiction romance and paranormal romance.
Well this was the third and last book in this series I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed the three books I could not put them down and i read them all in a week The whole story was fantastic and i read another review saying it was too violent Well let me tell you the violent scenes in the story are the whole story and talk about the treatment that this race has been through it's no wonder as they were persecuted and hunted and abused and killed and their women taken as sex slaves it's no wonder they were out for blood Amazing story and characters The best books I have read for a long time I will wait for another month or so and re-read it again It was compelling If ever there is a spin off I will read it immediately So to the author put me on your list
This is the final book in the series, and it didn’t disappoint. The author has slam dunked her series ending, tying everything together, but still managing to slip a surprise or two in. I absolutely loved reading this series, it was enthralling.
This book was better than the first.I have totally enjoyed being immersed in this book. The love, camaraderie and friendship is wonderful. Now on to the next book.
I don't usually pay attention to reviews by others but I glimpsed part of one that said this series was too violent to be good. I ignored what I saw and started reading. I couldn't put the series down! Yes, violence is a big part of this story but it was necessary to explain the Illusians existence thru the time they were separated for safety. I did not find the violence too much. This series will become one of my re-reads many times. It is that enthralling. I can't wait to read more from you A.A.

4.5 // After book 2 I did not expect this installment to be as good as it ended up being though I’m thrilled that it delivered.
This series has the common sci-fi trope of “trafficking females” but the world building is intriguing, unique, and strong doing an excellent job of being a counter balance.
I found the MMC to be one dimensional and would have appreciated more depth but his character does get some minimal development even though the FMC is clearly the focus of the storyline. Occasionally I thought the author used the FMCs stubbornness to manufacture drama unnecessarily but it was thankfully minimal in this book.
What was excellent was how the FMC pushed back against some cultural traditions of the MMCs people when the females of their species suffered the brunt of the conflict. She advocated for change to give them the tools to help protect themselves rather than their protection lying solely with the men of their species. It was really done well.
Overall this series would have been stronger as a duet but it’s an enjoyable series that’s worth a read regardless.
I read the Illusian Warrior books 1, 2, and 3 (Unexpected, Unwelcome, and Unmatched) by Annalise Alexis on KU and was so pleased I returned them to KU and bought them. The 1st two books end on cliffhangers; however, the 3rd book wraps the story around the main H and h up rather nicely. Throughout the three books, there are other characters who have a significant role / impact, so reading them in order will ensure readers do not miss an important tie. The world building seemed thorough, and other than wanting to know more about the secondary characters, I do not recall having any unanswered questions. For those readers who Anna Carven’s Dark Planet Warriors would enjoy these.
This 3 book series is addictive. I loved the badassedness of Jayla. I love the escape the alien romance trope provides me, but this one also had loads of action, intrigue, drama, and comedy! There is an element of "fated mates" but the chemistry that develops between Kayla and Ren is smokin' ! I thoroughly enjoyed the supporting characters (some more than others) and am hoping for more stories featuring the Illusians. The story had me sucked in from the first chapter. I read all three books in a span of 24 hours or so!
I am so sad to see this series of books end. In this book, the hero and heroine hunt down the people behind the kidnapping and death of many people or, I guess aliens. Lot's and lots of action and excitement. And a beautiful ending. The author did an amazing job writing these. I can't think of a series of books that I have enjoyed more recently. Loads of humor mixed in with all the excitement and a few surprises that you don't expect. Well worth the time that I spent reading them. I can see myself rereading them.
The whole series grabbed my attention. The characters were alive and real. The denouement was satisfying for each. The reason for only four stars is because of the slow start in all four books. It took a fair bit of time to push through. The last book took several days for me to push through to the action. Having said that the ending for each book was gripping.
Follow the adventures of Kayla a human medic and her mate Aren of the Illusians as they battle an evil for . Join them as they travel through space desperately searching for survivors of their people stolen for the slave market . Witness their horror and their joys . I loved reading this trilogy and hope you do too
It’s always nice to start a series with all the books present. This series was full of adventure and intrigue my only issue was the heroine I think the authors intent was to make her seem endearing but I found her irritating. The character was reckless and was constantly asking questions that I felt she should have been able to figure out.
Was an emotional ride to get the happy ending and loved Jayla and Rens story. What I couldn't stand is Leandra she was obnoxious and a few times I wished Jayla would have smacked her
I found this series and i love it. I'm sorry it is Finished but hopefully their will be more with building their world and new characters and new love. The illusians deserve their time in the son
This 3 book series is an excellent read. It has an awesome plot, steamy romance with sexy aleins, and has great character development. When an alien species shows up, it sets up a chain of events that changes Jayla's life forever.
I loved the characters in the series Sol lost his life, he reminded me of Donatello of tmnt he hated violence he was more of technology than warrior but he would fight if needed and in the end he saved Ren’s life I hope there’s more to come in the series
Such a good series with truly unexpected twists I did not see coming. Really great wring makes the characters come alive and so easy to read. Definitely not a series to miss. Happy reading.
This series was absolutely fantastic! The Unmatched is the epic conclusion and what a conclusion it is. It is rather dark and so emotional that you will need to have the tissues handy. I'm so glad I found this and gave it a chance. Sooooo good!!
Great story, great characters, action, suspense, love , loss. True evil leading the people on a harsh chase and the end is wonderful but sad that I have to say goodbye to the characters I enjoyed reading about
This is the final book of the trilogy and each book just got better and better. Strong characters, great storyline and the books were hard to put down. Highly recommend
These books 1-3 were terrific! So many good subjects were dealt with including cultural norms, racial xenophobia, love, sex , family and loyalty. Plenty of action scenes. I can’t wait for more to continue. A plus rating from me!
Loved this book and wished there were more in the series. Each involvement of life is exciting and leaves you wanting more even though each book was very fulfilling on it's own. The ending was superb.
I dove into the first book only a couple days ago and just finished this one the 3rd im series. I cant wait for more. Good well thought out characters and believable story.
Really a good story, the Illusian warriors is a must read.Annalise Alexis outdone herself ,well written, caracters well developed, great plot .I'm addicted to her books, couldn't stop reading till the last word!
This had the ending I was hoping for, I just didn’t know how the author was going to do it, but she did. All 3 books in the series have an attention grabbing storyline and steamy alien romance written well. I love the writing style and look forward to other books written by this author.
