While I’m enjoying this series it’s starting to wear a little thin. The start of this was funnier than usual which is always good. Simon was on good form and I was settled in for another entertaining read. My problem was it’s getting a bit repetitive. Every book has something more powerful than the last. More dangerous more everything I just feel they’re getting a bit samey. Okay so if I’m being honest they’ve been a bit samey for a while. But I do really like these guys especially the adorable Peaches.
It’s hard since this series started with all guns blazing. I did wonder where it would go and the answer is bigger guns all blazing.

I’m sticking with it for Peaches if nothing else

Off the charts action and suspense. So much tension with a brilliant ending I won't give away. And a perfect teaser for the next book. I can hardly wait.

What an adventure.. Hades’ wife is missing, Montague may be going dark, Strong just wants to have a regular day, Peaches just wants more meat, but the universe and Tartarus has other ideas. Between demolishing more buildings, blood magic. The dark council now hot on their heals, things will never be normal for this agency.

I really enjoyed this installment in the Montague & Strong series. A lot of potential and new story arcs. Looking forward to seeing where Mr. Sanchez is going with all of this. Great job.

Oh, remember what I said in the review of Bullets & Blades, about the bond between Simon and Monty and Simon and Peaches? Well, we are to at the point in which Simon faces Chi, the powerful, ancient vampire who leads the Dark Dark Council and who has marked him as her own and tells her:
“I’m going to say this once,” I said, letting the anger lace my words. “If the Council moves against Monty, they move against me.” (...) “The only ones who will be sorry will be the ones who come at us,” I said, barely keeping my rage under control.”

It's not a rational choice to declare war on these three, they cause enough mayhem without getting them angry.

All these aside, man! Hades and his family take the terms 'family feud' to a whole new level *laughs*

But even with all the usual laughs (c'mon, Peaches bargaining with Simon? That's hilarious!), this book also has a much darker tone. All the talking about Monty becoming a dark mage doesn't sound all that insane when you witness the reckless way in which he unleashes his magic. I'm not saying that I believe he will go dark, just that it isn't such a stretch that others think so.

Oh, I can't wait to see what will come next!

Fast-paced, powerful but darker story focussed on Monty, Simon and Peaches

This M&S storyline takes off at breakneck speed and races along with a few less-frenetic moments in the Randy Rump or at Haven. There are several, lighter intervals when Peaches demands and negotiates numbers of sausages, because “Meat Is Life.”

Simon, Monty and Peaches must rescue Hades’ kidnapped wife, and then stop a Primordial Deity and his powerful demigod-like beings. As usual, Simon and Monty are blamed for the destruction of a few NYC landmark buildings—no matter that their opponents are responsible. Short appearances by: Michiko, Roxanne, Jimmy the Cleaver, Director Rodriguez, and the Dark Council. Plus, Peaches brings his father Cerberus to the 14th Street Park for a showdown of sorts.

Throughout this series, Monty and Simon have been growing in spirit and power, and this story details several startling and possibly dangerous changes.

To those new to Orlando Sanchez’s Montague & Strong books, I suggest you start reading earlier books in the series before reading “Hell Had No Fury.”

Dear Editor quibble: I’m not certain how Simon did this to Peaches XL: “I scooped Peaches up and ran away.”

Orlando A. Sanchez is fairly churning these e-books out and, In my opinion at least, it's beginning to show.

Book #8 in the 'Montague and Strong detective' series, in which Hades (yes, that Hades) wife Persephone has been kidnapped. Tristan Montague and Simon Strong (and Peaches the hellhound, of course!) are hired to investigate that disappearance, leading to the usual mayhem and large-scale destruction of public property.

I loved the eighth full length story in Montague and Strong Detective Agency series. These stories just keep getting more and more exciting to read and I found this one hard to put down. In this episode Persephone has gone missing and Hades engages the help of our intrepid team to discover what has happened to her, at which point, in the usual modus operandi of our protagonists, everything starts to explode. As I’ve said with the previous books in this series, although the main elements of the book are a complete story, there is a running theme in the background, with a lot of mentions of things that have happened in the previous books and novellas, so I would certainly recommend reading the rest of the series first. I love that Orlando gives reference to other books and movies etc that he has found inspiration from. If there are any other Star Wars fans out there, you may pick out the phrases dotted here and there through the book. These little ‘Easter Eggs’ always make me smile. Great story, can’t wait for the next instalment of this series, and wait with bated breath for whatever other projects Mr Sanchez has brewing (and chewing!!) along with his Death Wish coffee!

I loved some of the Easter eggs in this one, I share the same love of scifi that Mr. Sanchez does, may the force be with him. This is a great installment in this series, we even meet Cerberus. With Persephone kidnapped, Monty, Simon and Peaches are recruited by Hades to help retrieve her and re-seal Tartarus, but this time they are going up against the Lightbringers, Lucents under Tartarus’ control. And the Dark Council is coming to eliminate Monty and Peaches. A very intricate plan is laid out and it is a great fight. It’s hard to wrap my head around some of the action in these books, they are so well thought out.

I don’t understand how, but this series is just getting better and better. Eight books in, and I am still as thrilled with reading it as I was the first couple books, maybe even more so the more I know the group. You can’t go wrong with this series, and if you’ve never read this genre and want to give urban fantasy a try, this is a great series to jump in with. Can’t recommend it any more than I already do.

When Hades' wife is kidnapped Monty & Simon are hired to help find her, but they had no idea just what doors they would be opening. Things always have a way of getting explosive when Simon and Monty are involved, to find out which buildings are left standing and what Gods may not be you'll have to take a chance and step into Simon, Monty, and Peaches world! This is an engaging story that keeps you on your toes waiting to see who will show up next and just how our mage, immortal and hellhound will come through at the end. I loved watching each of them grow and learn more about their powers and gifts. Well done Orlando Sanchez, ready for the next adventure!

Absolute chaos (lowercase) descends upon Monty and Strong as they take a case from Hades himself. Not trusting the shrouded machinations of this or any god, they face this upheaval with their usual destructive aplomb. But the noose tightens around the infamous threesome as other powers-that-be have grown weary of their increasing reputation, power, and landmark body count. Constricting towards a no-win situation, the combination leads to a supremely titanic battle that shakes the foundations of their world, should it choose to survive at all.
Consider the envelope pushed past the point of obliteration. A riotous good time!

Ante upped, but a lot of this felt like it could've been any old character duo thrown into the mix - why these two? Fun & fast-paced, but no grounding for the plot.
Also, the romantic relationships suddenly turning from what felt like slow-burn romances to authoritarian/distrustful ones really threw me. The previous dynamic on both relationships was believable with how Montague & Strong behaved thus far; in no way would I believe a real relationship would change that suddenly.
4 stars for action, 2 stars for the shallowness and "hang a lantern on it" plot, and 1 star for the abrupt alteration of character dynamic with no reason or back story explanation.

The best Monty and Strong book yet. I loved it!

Hell Hath No Fury is by far my favorite in the series so far. It is full of tense fighting, heroic actions, and magic and mayhem. Monty and Simon find themselves, once again, racing to save New York and its inhabitants. Monty continues to grow in his magic, and Simon and Peaches tests the boundaries of their bond and Simon's immortality. This book made me equal parts amused and anxious. I loved this book and couldn't put it down until I had devoured every page to its surprising end.

Things are getting hot and heavy for Monty and Strong. Hades wants their help, the Dark Counsel wants to strip Monty of his powers as they think he is going "dark" and Peaches can't get any sausages. Things are blowing up all around them and somehow Strong gets the blame for that every time. Monty is using dark magic more in order to save their lives and the humans in the city and Strong, Chi and Roxanne are worried about him. Death and destruction await them as they try to help Hades get Persephone back after being kidnapped and really...can anyone get a cup of tea around here?

Back for another round...

I really enjoy this series, it is currently one of my favourites. Having said that, this book felt short. Almost rushed. I also feel like they fall out of one scrape into another without any down time and the character development is left to the novellas. I will still read the series because it is still a great ride but I hope the next book ties up at least one thread or moves one relationship or bond forward. Take any one of the novella's and mix it with this book and it would have been great.

More gods playing with the humans

I feel like they are just pawns being used by everyone, and that's even clearer in this book.  I think that things are getting out of control with this book, but for a part that's to be expected since they are gathering more and more enemies and their luck has to end sometime, but there are a few things I don't really get about the dynamics and politics of the world.
Also, they keep making reference to things that happened, but that I found out later happened in another short story.
Their destruction is getting out of control, and there are a few things I don't get, like why they want them dead, since they keep introducing characters that are supposedly stronger and better than them, and then they say they are too dangerous.  Some things are missing or something doesn't make sense, I'm can't wait to get a better picture of what is going on, because I'm starting to feel a little lost.

The Montague and Strong detective agency is back in the U.S. and almost immediately up to their eyeballs in another adventure. Hades - yes, the god Hades - has an assignment for them . . . and you don't turn Hades down! Simon takes his snark to a new level, his bond with Peaches is growing along with his concern for Monty. Is Monty getting 'darker'? Will the guys and Peaches survive meeting Peaches father? And what is going on with Chi? Looking forward to the next book in this fun, fast-paced, and exciting series.

Simon, Monty, and Peaches are back in action and better than ever. This time they actually have a case to solve! Chances are that it's not a paying gig, but still... When Persephone, yes, that Persephone, goes missing, Simon and Monty are on the case. As per usual, historic landmarks are destroyed. Not their fault. Secrets are revealed. Again, just doing their jobs. Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride!

AMAZING!!

This book was absolutely amazing and a great addition to the series. Simon is just as snarky as ever and Monty has understatement down to a science. The action was fast-paced and kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. It was hard for me to put this down, even when I had to stop for work. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Well done Mr. Sanchez, well done.

Explosive and exciting!

Simon and Monty get themselves into another situation that requires their special skills and talents. That means the bad guys get schooled and the city gets yet another 'magical makeover.' While doing so, they manage to get on the wrong side of their women, repeatedly. Now they have more than one hole to dig themselves out of. Maybe Peaches is as good at digging as he is as snarfing sausages? Meat is Life!

Big and Little

This is a story of Hades needing help from Monty and Simon and even Peaches. When Persephone goes missing Hades asked the boys for help in finding his wife. Well it starts out really good but with the plot twists you will find a hidden agenda from Hades. You will get an excellent description of Peaches father Cerberus and the action as the story winds down to the ending. I do recommend this book as well as the rest of the series!

ANOTHER MIND TWISTING ROMP THRU A WORLD MOST DON'T SEE

They have a job. FIX IT! Moaning and whining about how rarely helps. Simon and Monty (and of course Peaches) get it done. Intriguing and surprising, with an absolutely terrifying title, this is another rapid fire romp through a realm that most of us thought we were familiar with, carries us too a wonderful conclusion. We're in it for the magic aren't we.

I always enjoy when Hades pops into the novels and this book proves no exception. As usual the wit and witticism that prevails in each and every release is one of the things I look forward to the most. Especially those moments between Peaches and Simon, they are priceless. Bargaining lessens from a lizard at times of crisis. Wonderful. Keep writing Mr Sanchez, I'm still good for a few more years.

Enthralling and addictive!

I wanted to write a review after I read the first book in this series. I now have book 9 on my kindle and have just now found the discipline to stop reading and write a long overdue review. This series is a wonderful urban fantasy smorgasbord of magic, mythical creatures, gods, demons and fast-paced action and adventure. Get the books and enjoy the humor and the evolution of complex characters and plots.

Orlando has done it again

Holy Hades! He is not a very happy God when his wife, Persephone, has been kidnapped. It is put on Monty and Simon to find her and rescue her. No problem right? Wrong! Tartarus is involved and virtually unkillable. Add to that, the Dark Council is ready to erase Monty, Peaches, and Simon.
How do the guys save the day, again? And stay alive. Get your copy now and join in the latest adventure.

Holy Tartersauce......

Batman!! Lol couldn't resist.

Hades wife has been kidnapped, and he wants the boys to find her.......or does he??

Then HE gets kidnapped?!?

Tartarus wants to take over the place Hades and he's no longer subtle about going for it.

Such a kick butt plot in this one.

Yet again, Simon, Tristan and Peaches go up against foes they should never walk away from.

Awesome!!

This book... I was super impressed with this book even though I KNOW that Orlando writes some amazing books. This book just did IT, for me. It’s possible that Hades is the reason I loved this book or it could have been because of Peaches and Frank (who doesn’t even make an appearance) lol

I have another comment but I feel like it would be a spoiler so imma just end this here.

Crazy is as Crazy does

Oh yeah! Everyone is levelling up in this one, Monty, Peaches & Strong. Love the interaction and adding Hades to the mix was just too fun. It's great how the author weaves different mythologies together with magic & the mundane. I know were being fed a little at a time, but I can hardly wait for the next one.
