Or at least he was until Lita Perrow crashed in and destroyed his life for a second time. When Lita enters the Witch’s Tavern she stumbles straight into a magic deal gone south. Now, on top of needing a husband, she also needs to rid herself of a hex, or find herself very dead. Sam is the only man she can trust, but when all the right moments lead them into each other’s arms, they’ll both have to decide if old hate can be put to rest.

Lexi Ostrow has been in love with the written word since second grade when her librarian started a writing club. Born in sunny southern California she's spent time in various places across the country and can't wait to settle down somewhere in the French Quarter when she's able too.

Lexi has been a writer ever since the second grade in some form or another. Getting her degree in creative writing and her master's in journalism she couldn't wait to get a chance to put her fantasies down on paper. Her debut novel, Torn Between Two Worlds is something that was simmering in her mind since middle school and she's so grateful to put it out into the literary world. From paranormal romance to thriller there isn't a genre she doesn't love to spend her time reading or writing.

Reading and writing are her first loves but her passion for shopping, love for yummy food and her love for all her many pets. She hopes to one day help other readers fall in love with writing as she did.

A fantastic second chance love story filled with magic, suspense, and of course plenty of romance. While this is the first book in the series, I strongly recommend reading the prequel story "Hexed and Dangerous" first since it gives you some backstory and tells of events mentioned in this book.
Lita is a witch who has spent the last 500 years living life to it's fullest. But if she doesn't settle down and find a husband to bind her life to soon, she'll lose her powers. She thought she had found her soulmate in Sam, but a misunderstanding shattered that chance. Sam was the happy-go-lucky cop in love with Lita until their relationship went up in flames leaving him jaded and mistrusting of both love and magic. But the criminal he's been after for years is up to no good and fate throws him for a loop when it brings Lita and Sam back into each others lives. Fast-paced and full of action, the story will have you glued to the pages as Sam and Lita try to stop the bad guy while fighting off the attraction that is still there after all these years. Will they be able to overcome their stubborn pride, accept their feelings, and prevent the bad guy from changing the world as they know it before time runs out? Read this fantastic book and find out!

Loved this spin! There's romance, there's dread, there's a deal gone bad, but most of all there is change. Never underestimate the power of change. Both characters stick with you, I found I'm not so much in love with Sam, but I'm happily on my way there. I got a little bit of a Harry Dresden feel from Sam and I love that series! The setting in New Orleans is great, I really liked the detail. The author really poured herself into these characters and I think you'll be highly surprised.

I love when a book is centered in New Orleans so much magic to be had. Lita is the one in this that has a big task or loose hers. Then there is Sam whom is a interesting character on his own. With the two together we have one that is full of interesting chemistry with a touch of humor on the side. Drama will bleed into this one catching us up in the predicament carrying us along on this tide of theirs. This was better than I expected.

Really loved it

I just love this book. Lita is a powerful, fun loving witch who needs to find a husband before her birthday. Instead she runs into her ex, gets cursed and must save the world. I really enjoyed reading this book. It has a lot of action, suspension and a great little love story thrown into. I can't wait to read the next one.

Lita gets her happy ending

It's time to save humanity again, but this time it Life's turn. Two ex boyfriends, one she loves the other trying to change the world. This book has its grammar issues, but what book doesn't. It was a page turner and I cannot wait to see what happens in NOLA next. Lexi Ostrow is one of my favorite authors and I love seeing what she comes up with next.

Lita is every girl that you want to be with a touch of magic and Sam is every man that you wish you could have at home each night. They are combustible in and out of working together for the greater good. I was immediately enthralled with this couple as well as the story. I cannot wait to see where the next story will take me in this world with this author.
