Happy Camper
I grabbed my Camp NaNoWriMo mug, brewed a fresh Aeropress coffee, and took some time out from my own writing to do some - ahem - research.
This is one hot and spicey brew all by itself. Short and satisfying, complex and delicious, my senses are stirred and heightened by this slightly dark, but ultimately fun and satisfying camping adventure.
Felicity and Jax leave the city to explore unknown territory. As the sun goes down, the glow of the campfire rises, and Felicity is bound for pleasure. Taste those 'smores, lick that chocolate, eat that tasty treat.
The highlights just keep coming and coming and the action is intense. Some delightful and surprising fantasy elements; this is not a story that is predictable and boring. Read it, enjoy it, sigh with pleasure, and come back for more.
Patty Hillingdon is an author I study to see how the pros write. I read her blog and watch her at work, and I know that I am in the presence of a true artist. If I can learn to write half as well as she can, I'll be one happy camper.
