Elizabeth Langley has been writing stories for as long as she can remember. Her love of romance
novels started in her early twenties and has continued throughout her life. In addition to the books on her bookshelf, she is currently working on contemporary romance, cozy mysteries, and urban fantasies that she hopes to release within the next year.

She lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband, two children, one bonus child, three neurotic cats (one of which is probably an alien disguised as a cat), two energetic Corgis, and a homicidal rabbit.

Gripping Mystery

So many twists and turns in this small town mystery. Fifteen years later, Beth reluctantly returns to her hometown to fulfill a family duty.

A loving mother disappears mysteriously leaving behind two teenaged daughters on the cusp of womanhood. An abusive spouse is arrested, tried and convicted of her murder. Open and shut case? Maybe, maybe not.

Elizabeth Langley tantalizes her readers with this dark and disturbing look at the small minded small town lives in rural Alabama where one can be run out of town on the word of one powerful family.

This reader was drawn into the story from the beginning. Bonus points for drawing the reader into the antagonist’s point of view. It was eerie, creepy and oh so disturbing. It did not disappoint.

I definitely recommend this story and this author.

Smart, fast paced debut novel

I'm a sucker for first novels. I love experiencing that freshness and enthusiasm. This author happens to be someone I have followed online for several years, so I had no hesitation in picking up this book. The pace of the suspense is just right, and clues to the mystery are revealed at the perfect pace for a short novel. In short, it's a clever, engaging thriller that starts fast and never lags, very entertaining. Guessing at the identity of "Darkness" will keep you occupied. The Kindle formatting is a tiny bit wonky, mostly in not providing proper page breaks for new chapters, but that's not enough to detract from the experience. Take Langley's hand, and walk through the storm.

Wow what an awesome read this was. This author is new to me and holy this defs will not be the last book I read from her. Lizzy and Taylor high school sweethearts, until her mom goes missing and secrets are revealed. This book dips between past and present, which is great. Small town secrets, missing girls and a whole lotta drama and suspense. I read this book in one day, there was no way I was putting it down until I reached the end and found out all the secrets. Defs a must read

Debut author Elizabeth Langley gives us a riveting romantic suspense. She deftly manages multiple timelines and POV's to create a fascinating mystery that kept me guessing right until the very end. We're immersed into a deeply emotional reunited lovers story that follows the heroine back home to deal with an unpleasant immediate issue all the while knowing that she will have to face a past she wanted to keep buried. Loved this one.
