FALLING FOR THE BEAST is the second book in A Modern Fairy Tale duet.
Audiobook review. After listening to book one, I was expecting this book to provide more insight into who the main characters are at the core. Unfortunately, I don’t feel that was achieved. There were a lot of hot moments, and while I appreciate intimacy as much as the next girl, it seemed to be the primary focus of the relationship.
I didn’t find that the plot offered something I haven’t heard before and the reveals didn’t really change the overall tone of the story. The writing itself was solid. The pace of the story leaned toward the slower side but it fit.
The narrators, Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola, did a great job with their characters. Their voices fit the characters and had great inflections, tone, speed, and pitch. I will definitely look for them again.
Complimentary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.
I expected more.....plot... I don't mind but I just couldn't get into it I don't care about any of it. But if you are into some smutty read...have at it...
The continuation of this steamy retelling had me addicted! Maybe a little bit too repetitive sometimes but still enjoyed reading how Blake and Erin finally get their happy ending. It was hawt AF, dramatic and full of feels. So happy these two opposites found each other. As I said, I really enjoyed Beauty and the Professor and Falling for the Beast and I cannot wait to read more from Skye Warren now!
I'm finally done with this book, I was so bored and I was counting how many pages were left every 5 seconds. This book was pure smut so was the first one, but I was okay with it because it was the first book of course. Whenever I start a duet or series I kind of expect it to start slow and full of passion, and I expect the MCs to be all over each other, discovering each other, and falling in love with each other before the story starts to move, however in this book, it wasn't the case cause it was like reading the first book all over again! How this duet started was good, great even, but it could've been one book and it would've been perfect. Even though I love smut in my books, but I also love them with a real plot, not just a glimpse of it!!!
It was the perfect conclusion to the first part of this incredible duet! Skye Warren not only led Blake and Erin to a happy ending, but she also added new obstacles to their path, what boosted the plot. Falling for the Beast only confirmed my belief that this duet is the best-written re-telling of the world-famous fairytale, what under Warren’s pen has gained spice and leaves the reader completely breathless.
New reality left Erin and Blake’s relantionship in question. When her graduation and his career are in jeopardy, they need to take a step back and put their relantionship at a temporary stop. Although the intensity of their feelings and indescribable layers of passion are strong enough to survive all of this, yet deep uncertainties do what they do. On top of this, new circumstances appear that threaten our characters happy ending. Will Erin and Blake be able to survive everything that fate is throwning at their feet? Especially when Blake shows Erin his hidden side?
Only Skye Warren can shape a well-known romantic tale into a story, which reading leaves the reader panting and flushed. The steam was boiling from every page of this book. Blake’s hidden side made me love him even more and I was rooting for him like a crazy cheerleader. Erin was like a reward for all his suffering and he deserved her. Same as she deserved him. Her struggle finally found its end at Blake's side, who’s not only a man created especially for her, but he also gives her a sense of comfort and security, despite that she wasn’t asking for it. If you're looking for a perfect couple in the romance world, then it's Erin and Blake.
This duet deserves all the stars of this world! Skye Warren's flawless writing has created a fabulous perfection that I will never forget. Highly recommend!
The follow up to Erin and Blake’s story was phenomenal. I loved this scarred and broken man. That Erin saw beyond the image and saw the man beneath.
With college nearly over it’s been a struggle for them to stay apart. But Blake’s reputation in the line (not that he gives a shit) he’ll do it for her.
Erin doesn’t care, it’s all him that she needs. These two and the connection they have is beautiful, strong and emotional. She calms the beast in him.
With one more hurdle to go I was surprised but pleased with how it played out.
He will never be fully healed the PTSD will stay with him forever but with Erin by his side he knows they’ll get through it. Together.
Yes I recommend this series. It moved quickly, kickass heroine and an alpha male. One who stood by her side.
FALLING FOR THE BEAST by Skye Warren is book Two in : A Modern Fairy Tale Duet Series. This continues the story of Blake Morris and Erin Rodriquez, so you should read the previous book 'Beauty and the Professor'. Blake goal is to keep Erin safe even at his own expense. Erin is torn with what has happened with her and Blake, but knows she must support her mother in addition to working toward her Master's Degree. Each have their own personal doubts if they are good enough for the other but neither could love the other any less. So enjoyed reading their story. It was noted on the summary where this book description was given that this was a new take on the previous versions called Beauty Becomes You and Loving the Beast.
This is book two of A Modern Fairytale Duet by Skye Warren and you MUST read book one, otherwise, you will not get any understanding of the story.
College is almost over and it has been difficult for Erin and Blake to keep their distance from each other when all they want is to be together but they can’t put Blake’s job at risk… but, honestly? I think he honestly would risk it all for her.
This book was the PERFECT conclusion to this dark, intense and delicious duet. I am completely obsessed and in love with Blake. He may have been scarred and broken on the inside but I loved how Erin could see past that and could see that there was more to this man than that and that he did have a heart.. He had just been through a lot.
My heart went through so much in the second half of this duet. I feel like it was shattered into a million pieces! I had to know what happened between Erin and Blake after the ending the author left us in book one! But it seems as though these two were unbreakable. No matter what they went through they managed to take on those hurdles… There were some parts of the story I thought they may not be strong enough to get through but I was proven wrong.
All in all, this book was everything and more that I love about dark romance. It was spicy, intense, dark, intoxicating and addictive and as always, Skye Warren didn’t miss a beat!! Her talent is unmatched!

The final story on this duet finds Erin and Blake trying to overcome their obstacles both on a personal and professional level. Also, there was a revelation I didn't see coming and the final scenes showed that truly there are people who can be despicable even to their own children. The ending was a happy one with both Erin and Blake finding each other and loving themselves for the person they really are.
This is the final part of Blake and Erin's story, this dark retelling was fantastic, their chemistry in this part was off the charts, I love the twist the author gave the characters, definitely surprised in a great way. I couldn't see a better ending to their story. The audiobook was narrated by Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola, I simply loved them together, defiantly a great addition, or just get the audiobooks instead.
A deliciously sensual and emotional romance. And a fitting, unmissable conclusion to the duet. I am falling too for this beast of a man whose strength and honour soar to protect, cherish, worship and claim the only woman he's loved.
A really beautiful story. Erin and Blake may be opposites in social status, age and upbringing, but they connect like perfect notes on a music scale. They have to fight ugly inner demons such as the vast differences of their origins and experiences, secrets surrounding their parents, and the neverending erosion of not believing they're enough to deserve each other.
I loved how honestly and endearingly they dealt with everything that would tear them apart. Through some hardships, they learn to rely on their love. This relationship really grows and expands, allowing for their fears to be melt and conquered.
There are lots of great scenes when Erin feels alone during a crisis or Blake stands up for her, becoming the best version of himself. Blake's master classes in college made me wish I was there, soaking up his knowledge and wisdom.
Finally, the beast is also set free from its confines and ravishes Erin with raw, wild, arousing passion that pours out of the pages of the story. <3
This duet is a tender love story, about healing and finding your true mate and your own strength to be yourself, and it is loaded with intense and poignant lovemaking.
It deserves to be treasured on any kindle or bookshelf.
"Maybe that was what love was really about. Feeling fear but knowing it would be all right."
Getting out of the safety of your castle can be far more dangerous than it seems. Especially when you have to face the wounds of the past.
Blake Morris, despite his scars does not hide anymore: his career as a teacher is solidifying every day. And to don't jeopardize his and Erin's future careers, he decides they must stay away. At least until the end of the classes until Erin graduates. A mission almost impossible.
The chemistry between the couple increases further, something we thought impossible, and reaches stratospheric levels. But there is also much respect, tenderness and complicity in the narrative. Although, many situations are resolved with sex.
Dark facts in the past of Blake and Erin can shake the emotional structure and relationship of this couple when they decide to go back to the house where he was raised and meet his parents, Belinda and Jebediah Morris. Will the couple survive to the bitter poison they will find there?
An engaging and very sensual plot that reaffirms the power of true love to overcome barriers and prejudices. Although walking on dangerous and tortuous roads, pure and tender love can cross thorns and guide the lovers' souls towards happiness.
"FALLING FOR THE BEAST " by Skye Warren is book 2 in Modern Fairy Tale Duet series. This book continues the story of Blake Morris and Erin Rodriquez; it's recommended you read the previous book 'Beauty and the Professor' before reading book 2 so you can fully appreciate and understand what's going on in book 2 . We pick up where book 1 left off and the repercussions are grave. Blake is left feeling horrible about what he did but felt he had no choice, especially since he felt he had nothing to offer Erin. Meanwhile Erin is left feeling unworthy and unwelcomed by Blake. These two make soap operas look bland by comparison. Erin & Blake are torn and broken. Can they ever break thru the barriers and just get everything out, break down the walls and just get back to where they were before ? Or will those who wanted them apart win ? The plot is even more intense, the feels hotter and deeper, the chemistry is just too hot and the story is poppin!! I enjoyed watching this couple work their problems out and ..well- trust me, you need to read this book to know how their love story continues.
Melinda! She is a vicious, manipulative human being! Now Blake is forced to protect Erin and so they break up!
For Erin, this is quite a blow to her. She had been so close to her full happiness with Blake. Now she must just dedicate herself to achieve her initial goal of graduating with her Master's degree. After all, her mother desperately needs for Erin to move on and gain a job that will relieve them of the poverty they live in. Love does not pay the bills and put food on the table. Her mother's health is declining and Erin needs to look to a future where they can finally afford all of her mother's necessary medical needs.
Yet, can you possibly deny the love of your life? And Blake? Can he exist without the hope and love Erin brought to his life?
This is the conclusion of the series. It does not disappoint. I was on the edge of my seat until I finished this book.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
The second book in the Modern Fairy Tale Duet picks up right after the ending of the first.
Blake and Erin are working through the mine field of his being the professor for the last class she needs to graduate.
While there is quite a bit of emotional growth both individually and as a couple, this book felt like a retread of the first one. Also, it felt like too many things happened coincidentally to Erin that her mother experienced and some of their conflicts were solved too easily while others were drawn out.
Overall, I did like this book better than the first, but I still didn't find it to be my cup of tea.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Book 2 - You must read Beauty and the Professor first..
Perfect ending to this duet!!! Blake and Erin are what's great about romance. I binged this one in a 2am session. After the ending of the first book I had to know what was going to happen!!
You get some angst. You get some feels. You get beautiful dialogue and imagery and you get LOADS of HEAT - kindle exploding kind of heat. Plus you get a HEA that made my reader heart happy...
Second half to Erin and Blake’s story. This part is more emotional and even sexier! Erin & Blake are torn. Can Blake tare down his walls and show Erin his real self or keep it hidden. Erin just wants to be happy but someone is out to destroy it all. I loved this two book series and wish it didn’t end. Perfect twist to Beauty and the Beast! Oh and Blake will make you swoon hard! 5/5 stars
FALLING FOR THE BEAST by Skye Warren is the second book in The Modern Fairy Tale Duet Series. This continues the story of Blake Morris and Erin Rodriquez
This was a great ending to this duet. As Erin and Blake have issues to overcome in their personal/ professional lives the plot gets darker/ hotter/ sexier. I really enjoyed this duet and the modern twist on a loved classic fairy-tale
5 FANTASTIC ENDING STARS!! Wow, what a fantastic ending to this duet. Blake and Erin story has all the feels and I could not get enough of these two. Blake is beautiful inside and out just like Erin, these two are perfect. I highly recommend this duet, you must read book 1 first.
Oh, sweet torture. My heart was bashed and hammered with these two but in the most delightful way. I HAD to know what happened to Blake and Erin after Book#1, I was in such a spin afterwards .... and Skye didn't disappoint. Full of feels and heart and heat, this was a delicious conclusion to their story. I was left with such a smile on my face. ABSOLUTELY LOVED the ride, and one not to be missed for lovers of this genre. 4.5 Stars
*ARC kindly given in exchange for an honest review, thank you so much*
I have to say I liked book 1 more than this one. This is continuing Blake and Erin's story and in terms of the pace of the story this one fell flat for me that it was just ok. Narrators were great.
I was really looking forward to this after the first book but it didn't pack the same punch. It was just ok, I actually found myself rolling my eyes at the characters a lot more in this one.
Another great read by the talented Skye. An adult themed fairytale that’s dark, hot, wonderful storyline and a hea. Lia and Stephen did an amazing job narrating.

Falling for the Beast is the second novella in the “A Modern Fairy Tale Duet.” I rated the first book, Beauty and the Professor, 3 1/2 Caffeinated Stars, and though there were some faults, I was excited to continue on in the series. I love Skye Warren as an author & I’m a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast, so I really thought this duet would be perfect for me. Unfortunately, I really did struggle with this series.
Going into part two, I was hoping for more character development but I never really got that. The characters though likable were not my favorite. I liked that both characters were open and honest with each other, but I also struggled with their relationship. It seemed that every time there was a conflict it was solved by sex. Don’t get me wrong, sex is fantastic, but it shouldn’t be used as the sole way to resolve a conflict.
Something else that struck me as weird and out of place was being blindsided by specific characteristics. We have the entire first novella where PTSD isn’t really mentioned, and then, we’re hit with him having PTSD nightmares. It was a little off-putting to me that we’re just now learning about his nightmares. The same thing can be said about him “holding back” his need for rough sex.
Though I had a few things that I didn’t like about his novella, I had some stuff I loved. I really liked that Blake always had Erin’s back. He constantly wanted to be there for her and supported her in whatever way he could. I loved that though they both had insecurities, their relationship wasn’t one of them. They both were willing to fight for what they had & shut down some of the antagonists in this book.
Even though this book wasn’t perfect, I did enjoy it. I do recommend reading some of Skye Warren’s latest books instead of this series. You can tell that her writing has grown & improved since this book was first released. One of my personal favorites of hers is Prisoner.
