Being A Quran Tag Girl tells more about the author herself, her journey with quran, how she tag her quran and fall in love with quran. Since this is a non fiction book, I'm not gonna talk about the plot. The writing is neat. There are a few of grammatical error but the message the author want to deliver is understandable. Great for people who need motivation and to get closer to Allah and to understand more about Quran. Amazing job on the research about the verses and hadith.

I'm happy to say that I enjoyed every bit of this book. Knowing the experience from someone who really learning and understand quran inspires me. I hope that I can improve my relationship with quran. InshaaAllh. Thank you for sharing the knowledge.

BEFRIENDING THE QURAN- AYESHA SYAHIRA

This book previously known as Being A Quran Tag Girl. Just so you know, I’ve read BAQTG early 2021 and reread BTQ still make me cry again and again. I guess most of us will always cry when it comes to Al-Quran and Seerah!

“Nothing comes easy”

Mu’awiyah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, “when Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the understanding of the deen.”
[Al-Bukhari & Muslim]

I love how Ayesha wrote the story about her journey with Al-Quran, it’s a light and very good read! I can related myself in some situation, I can smile and cry at the same time while reading this book. It’s so close to my heart. I will always refer and practice Ayesha’s daily routine as mine too. Thank you Ayesha.

All the topic inside is very important and I don’t think it’s a good idea to skip even one if we want to make Al-Quran as BFF (best friend forever). Istiqamah is my most favourite chapter, I’m struggling myself to istiqamah with my hijab, reading and most of new thing in my life.

Suite it title, Befriending The Quran: A Beginner’s Guide For Nurturing Closeness To The Quran, I can say this book is for every single soul who’s struggling to make Al-Quran as part of their life.

A solid 5 ⭐!

I just picked this book up last night, around 10.30 p.m and today it kept calling me to read, so that's what I did and look, I finished it!

It's so inspirational, and my heart blooms (not sure if it's the correct adjective!) more and more as I go deeper into the book. I believe it's a great approach to invite people back to putting the Qur'an as our core in our daily lives. It doesn't just cover the theory part, but also the practical and spiritual parts as well!

I think I'll be going back to this book one day, as I miss the feeling of the first time reading it already ❤️

❓Have you ever asked yourself how close you are to the Quran - the most sacred "guide book" for Muslims? Because this book makes me questioned myself of the degree of closeness I have to the Quran.

📌If you ever felt distant from the holy Quran, it is fine. Because sometimes we all do. You will feel lose sometimes, feel like giving up in life and uncertain of where this life gonna take you to. And Allah knows His servant the best, and therefore He has given us the Quran to guide us to the right path in this impermanent life.

📍I used to wonder, "Why do we need to recite the Quran despite not understanding the meaning of the Arabic words?" I can't help but to fall in love with the Quran deeper and deeper throughout my readings of this book 🥺.

🔖If I have known earlier the endless benefits that will be received by those who learn and practice the Quran, I wished to have spent more time reciting, reading, and understand (tadabbur) the Quran and the messages it tries to tell us as Muslims.

🔖This book has been an eye-opening to me and it helped me to understand better the purpose of reciting the Quran, which all in all is to seek Allah’s pleasure.

📍I couldn't be thankful enough to the author @ayeshasyahira for willing to write this book to guide us, the readers on how to be a better practicing Muslims by getting close to the Quran based on her own beautiful "hijrah" journey of being a better Muslim🥰. And not to forget, thanks to @imanpublication too for giving me the opportunity to have this book in returns for this review!

🔖I wish that this book could reach to many more hands so that more people could see the beauty of the Quran as how I see it now. Tbh, once I finished reading this book, I was eagerly preparing myself to start my Quran tadabbur journey - scheduling, subscribing to YouTube channels offering free Tadabbur class etc. May Allah gives us the strength to be istiqamah in our "hijrah" 💚

Looking at the title, I first thought that this book will be about how the writer did all the Quran Tagging activity; reading it, I know it's not just about that (well, it's not until the very last part of the book). But rather the book is about how the writer embarked her journey to going back to Quran and Islam. It sounds like a typical hijrah made by most of us muslims, but surely, all of us have a different journey and paths we persue and this journey of this writer in one inspirational. It's about the changes made by her that over the time keep on getting up to much, much higher level.

This book gives wide views of 'Reading the Quran', it opens the eyes, the heart and the mind about the Quran in a very familiar way for someone like me.

The writer brings the Quran reading (and learning) into much, much more interesting and higher level for a person whom didn't come from an Islamic upbringing, for a person whom has just started to learn the Quran.

This book will really help, a beginner to decide where to begin in ways that are more entertaining, and yes reading and learning about the Quran should be something that's fun to do (of course in a proper and right way) so that we can develop our love towards this book of guidance and to live it fully.

I have been following Ayesha on Instagram for a couple of years. Recently this year I had also attended her online classes. From my observation thru following her on Instagram and from the online clasess that I attended, I could see and feel that she is very passionate in the works she does. And her enthusiasm - it's contagious. Because of her, I have started to pick up and learn about the Quran.

I feel the same way when reading the book. Sidetrack abit - this book is kinda like a hybrid of a memoir and a how-to book. Ayesha shares about her journey in loving the Quran - how she makes Quran her BFF - and tips and tricks for the readers to apply. What I like most is at the end of each of chapter, she includes a duaa so that we can achieve the same as what she has achieved. The last chapter is my favourite. The language that she uses is simple, easy to understand and does not have a tinge of academic-ish jargons. Which is very good, I think, because this is a good way to attract youngsters to read the book. To be honest, I feel quite motivated to go deeper with my own Quran learning journey after reading the book. Thanks to Ayesha!

And those are the good points.

The bad point is only one in my opinion. I wish there was much more effort being done in proofreading the book before it was released. Had it not been the errors in the book, I would have rated the book full-fledged 5 stars. The errors are just too many to ignore.

Anyhow, the book gives me a very good "after-taste". And when I read a book, one of the rating criterias I look at is whether the book will give me a lasting impact or whether there'll be possibilities of me re-reading it - this book, I think, gives me a lasting impact. Re-reading it? I think not but I would re-read it again if there's a new edition where the book has been proofread better.

Nevertheless, Ayesha did a good job writing her first book and I am looking forward to read her latest one i.e. Talk To Allah. Thanks Ayesha for sharing your journey!

I think it's amazing how the author gives such useful tips for readers that are trying to find their way back to reading Quran or even polishing their way of reading the Quran. It's truly such a great read as the author also includes her experience and journey! I could relate on her emotions before finding her way back—the despair, emptiness and lost. I feel like most people, including me, could find comfort when other people go through similar situations.

I liked that most of the tips are practical because I usually have to do something in order to remember the steps, so it really was beneficial! There were points that the author explained by using the verses from the Quran and it's amazing to see the link between her points and the verses.

One segment I really liked was 'Ways To Maintain Istiqamah'. In this modern world with the internet and trends, it's really really hard. Especially as a teenager, where you're expected to do this, be that, etc. From that segment, one of the ways was to hug your Quran. I found myself smiling so hard, imagining myself hugging the Quran. This book made me smile several times, just thinking of Allah S.W.T.

Enjoyed the short read, can't wait to read 'Talk To Allah' :D

Sayidatina Aishah (r.a.) reported:
الذي يقرأ القرآن وهو ماهر به مع السفرة الكرام البررة، والذي يقرأ القرآن ويتتعتع فيه وهو عليه شاق له أجران‏
"The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur'an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels), and he who recites the Qur'an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have two rewards."
(Sahih Al-Bukhari & Muslim)

It's easy to read and comprehend. A really great book if you want to learn to nuture love for Quran.. the downside is there are some words that they mis-used, maybe they didn't really proof read this before publishing. But not so severe mistakes that you can't guess what's the correct words to use.

In this book, the author shares her journey with the Quran and also how we can improve our relationship with it.

One of the tips that I love the most is on how she does her tadabbur notes. She divides them into four main topics namely Reflection, Action Plan, Lesson Learned and Du’aa. I love how structured that is - SMART* goals.

Personally, this book makes me happy by feeling assured that we can find Allah through the Quran. Relationship with Quran requires determination and commitment but if one is to brace through, it will be more than worth it. I have a long way to go.

*SMART = specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-based

Being A Quran Tag Girl by Ayesha Syahira
Published by Iman Publication
Goodread's Rating: 4.26/5
My Rating: 3.79/5

"That aayah was so beautiful that I teared up while reading it. Allah first showed me an aayah about the non-believers, but later comforted me with an aayah that was full of hope. Allah is indeed the Almighty, the One who truly knows and understands everything."

The author is known for her Quran tagging system, which is a method to tag your Quran with those colourful sticky flags or notes. As a blogger, her post on this subject on her blog and her IG became famous around 2016. Thus since then, she goes around Malaysia and other countries to do workshops on this process, even appearing on TV for it.

Her book is divided into four parts which are Quran & You, Relationship with the Quran, Istiqomah with Your Quran and Conclusion, and two special sections, Quran Tag and Duaas. As it is a relatively thin book with less than 200 pages and 14 pt font size, it is very easy for anyone to read and implement it, no matter how old you are or which level of English language proficiency you have.

The only down part is the grammar, as there are sentences with missing prepositions and some are fragmented. Hope the publisher can hire a better editor because this book carries the name of the Quran and it should have no error.

"Do you know that exhausting feeling of searching high and low for a true meaning love and life purpose? ... I was so busy finding happiness and love to fill in the gap but all those time were wasted for non-beneficial things... But, the moment I found the one that fits the gap - the Quran, I rushed to rekindle relationship that has long gone south."

Took me quite a while to finish reading this book as I have been trying to implement the steps that Ms Ayesha presented in this book. As a start, I have enrolled myself in an online Tajweed course, as recommended in this book. And Alhamdulillah, to me it was a good starting point for me to improve myself in reading the Quran.

Though there were some typos and grammatical errors in the book (and I was tempted to send an email to the publisher to correct them), the knowledge shared in this book is simple and easy to follow.

I can relate to Ms Ayesha’s personal experiences in trying to learn the Quran and I am glad I am not alone in this journey. May Allah bless you Ayesha, and all of us who are trying our best to become better versions of ourselves.

“However, for some people, I guess Allah has planned it in such a way that they had to 'mess' up their lives first so that he or she will find the right way back to Him. Well, at least that was how it was for me. But never once did I regret those 'hoo- haa' days as they all directed me to my true purpose in life and to the One whom loved me the most. Allah the Almighty has never left me out of His sight, not even once.

Only with those bumpy rides' in life, will we truly appreciate the good that comes next.”

Alhamdulillah for the book. My due respect on the author for coming with the book. Quran tagging was and still part of my own journey in understanding Quran.

Easy book to read with suggested framework for a journey with Al-Quran.

The first time i read this book was just for the sake of finishing it because someone gave it to me. So, this is the second time for me to read it. I took my time. I did stop in the middle but right when i pick it back up, i finished it in one sitting. Because it was truly heartfelt. The writing is beautiful and it felt like im talking to my bestfriend. The writing felt personal. Some parts felt like a conversation. Some parts made me cry. But surely every part of it made me want to become better. Pray for me that i get to achieve this level of imaan.
