A teenage girl with precognitive abilities, has struggled through a lifetime of exploitation only to end up the pawn of a government agency that wants to harness her powers for its own ends. You've seen the show Stranger Things, but this is your first glimpse of the strangeness that happened before the series began! The first prequel comic series for Stranger Things.
Stranger Things Season 3 is coming out this July 4 and what better way to get hyped up again than by immersing on its world! This graphic novel is a prequel and it gives us a peek to the Upside Down in a different character's perspective. Six can predict the future albeit her powers haven't fully developed yet. There's nothing much that happens in this issue but I'm still excited as to where this leads us!
As a parent this title touches upon a huge pet peeve of mine, parents using their child’s ability and talent for financial gain. Whether it’s pushing them into sports, having them go on a talk show like a dancing monkey, creating their own toy review site on YouTube, releasing their daughter’s sex tape to build a family dynasty (allegedly), or using their child’s precognitive powers to win the lotto, no matter what level of exploitation, exploitation is exploitation, and if there is a Hell I hope there is a special place reserved in it for parents like Six’s.

I feel bad for the main character. She deserves a lot better. Nobody understands her. Her family used to use her for money...

So there's another new Stranger Things series out there. This time it's a prequel, following a different test subject (Six, in case that wasn't obvious). There's a limit in how far they can push things, because of the timing. But it was still interesting, on the whole. Anybody curious about the other test subjects would probably appreciate this series.
Not a lot happens in this first comic in the new series. Setting itself up for more of the upside down, which is intriguing from a different character perspective. Will be getting the next one.
This was way shorter than I wanted it to be and like issues to be, honestly. But if you liked Season 2 of the show, I think you'll like this series. We meet more past test subjects - primarily Six (obviously) and Three. Color me intrigued.
An interesting start to this story, but not much has happened so far. It's backstory mostly. With that said, I'm interested to read more and find out what's going to happen in this little comic expanding on the Stranger Things universe.
Nostalgic teen angst. A sort of prequel that sets up the alternate reality of earlier seasons. I wonder if this is a necessary thing.? Perhaps keep moving forward in time instead.
2.5/5 stars! since its just the first issue maybe it will get better! it was full of clichés and all. i will see how the next issues are ..IF there is more in this comic!
