Wayward Souls #2

Delta Force: Colt

Rate this book
Colt had one rule. But for Ellis -- he’ll break it. AGAIN.

Delta Force soldier Brett “Colt” Sievers lives his life by a creed -- anything for the sake of the mission.
There’s no risk too high.
No sacrifice too great.
No rule he won’t break -- except one. No falling in love.
So, losing his heart to Ellis Baker is more than a breach of protocol -- it’s a colossal mistake.
One he’s still paying for five years later.
And the reason he’s never crossed that line, again.

Newly discharged, and working for his former commander, Colt’s determined to keep his life simple.
Until Ellis stumbles across his doorstep.
Tortured.
Hunted.
Undeniably sexy.
Colt doesn’t want to care.
To be anything other than her temporary savior.
Too bad his heart didn’t get that memo.

Getting involved, again, is dangerous.
She’s got secrets -- the kind that end bloody.
That could get him -- and his team -- killed.
But Colt’s never failed a mission before, and once he commits, there’s no turning back.
He’ll unearth the truth, save the girl, or die trying.
Even if it means breaking that rule one more time.
Because if Colt can’t keep Ellis alive -- he’ll never get his second chance at his first love.

I’m just a small town girl, living in a lonely world. I took the midnight train…oops, sorry. Got off-track.

Author, hobbit, and crazy lady running in the woods, I’m either madly creating masterpieces in my dungeon, or out chasing Bigfoot with my dogs.

I see myself as unapologetically Canadian, and I love all things maple syrup.

Oh glory, I love Kris Norris's books. She hooked me years ago with her paranormal romance, but her military romantic suspense is one of my go-to reads, and Colt's story is no different. Colt got a Dear John letter from Ellis and he believed every word. Ellis painted herself into a corner in an attempt to expose corruption and waited to be saved by Colt...and he never came, so she saved herself. And that was five years ago. Now they have to figure out where the truth lies, and how the new people they've become can reconnect. I loved watching big bad Delta Force Brett (Colt) grow into the understanding that just because she's smaller than him doesn't mean Ellis can't hold her own and won't ever give up. Great tale. Now I want to hear about Six!

A totally amazing and emotional sequel to Delta Force: Cannon!
Brett “Colt” Sievers lost the love of his life, Ellis Baker, five years ago when he received her letter ending their relationship. She had found out that Colt’s father was a serial killer, a monster. Colt moved on knowing that he should have told her about his father, but he has his team at Wayward Souls and that will have to be enough. Ellis, who has been held against her will, escapes and blind luck brings her to the headquarters of Wayward Souls. Colt cannot believe it is Ellis, his former lover, who has obviously been tortured and injured. Where has she been for the past five years? Ellis will recover and tell her story that will bring all the members of the team together to get justice for Ellis. A wonderful visit with the badass men and women of the Brotherhood Protectors as well as the new members of Wayward Souls. The non-stop suspense is intense as the team works to put a rogue group of operatives out of business. Can Colt keep Ellis safe in order to have a second chance at happiness? A thrill ride from beginning to end…hurry on Six’s story, can’t wait. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)

We find Ellis being been held against her will, in the process of escaping and it’s total luck that brings her to the headquarters of Wayward Souls. Really enjoyed getting to know more about the badass men and women of the Brotherhood Protectors of Wayward Souls and how they gear up to protect Ellis and bring the people who held Ellis to justice. This is a fast paced and intense story and a page turner as the team work to put a rogue operatives out of business. Can Colt keep Ellis safe in order to have a second chance at happiness?

FANTASTIC SECOND THRILLER

This second book does not disappoint. The characters that have been created so far, still retain their strengths, and intense ability for adventure. This story covers Colt' s loss of his first love and his inner struggle with self worth and forgiveness. When given a second chance, he charges straight ahead to protect the woman he loves and threatens to do harm to the men who kidnapped her.

I do love the Brotherhood Protectors World in general, and Kris Norris in particular. Colt's story was so hot! OMG! Ellis Baker! Wow! My kind of kick-butt heroine. Some lovely twists and turns in a couldn't-put-it down-action-packed story. Wasn't sure I could hold my breath long enough a time or two. Lot's of Look out! Gasp! Oh no! You can do it! Wow! Before we finally get to a wonderful sigh. My kind of story. Good job!

Good read

I really enjoyed this book. Colt had plans to marry Ellis. Then he got a Dear John letter telling him she never wanted to see him again. He believed the letter until one night someone pounds on the door, and when he answers it, Ellis falls into his arm's. She has been shot and tortured and she swears she never sent the letter.

This book really got good in the last few chapters. Too much talking by Colt about him and what he has gone thru, then there's Ellis and the same with her. In between action they go back to flashbacks. Too much extra reading for me. Brief appearances by Hank.

Some good, some not

I have mixed feelings about this book. There are way too many pages of graphic sex. Ugh. But there are great characters and some great action scenes and a very good story line. I'm just not a fan of the graphic scenes.

Delta Force: Colt

Wonderful story of intriguing action and survival. Reading how the government treated someone who found out too much about a higher level person and seeing justice done was very entertaining. Can't wait to read more about this series.

Who doesnt love an alpha with integrity or a woman with skills & strength to match? Colt & Elise kept me on the edge with their intense heat & emotions. An exciting plot that definitely entertained while laughing at the banter & enjoying the sweet moments as they face danger.

Colt and Ellis

Poor colt and Ellis, you could see from the start all is not what it seams. It did remind me of a lady who was in the other series.
But a great read what to know more about six

Great second story to the series. Colt and Ellis had to work through issues created five years prior to them reconnecting. The twists and turns within the story make it an intriguing read.

Colt and Ellis… adore them! I just love that the women in this series are kick ass right along with the men! This team is so fun to read. Of course I realized that I have a whole other series I should’ve read before this one. 🤣 Cue me texting Norris like,”OMG I love this series! But what book should I go back to after I read this series?!” 😘 (It’s Midnight Ranger and Sam is the first, btw)
