I could only give this story a 2-star rating because, despite Violet’s “nice” personality and good intentions, she sleeps with the groom on the night before his wedding. I can understand having a crush on a celebrity-type person, but really she’s not as well-meaning as she portrays herself to be-more like obnoxious, annoying and skanky. I did not enjoy this book for those reasons. Thank goodness it was a quick read.

The story was okay. However the assistant slept with the groom, the day before the wedding. I mean, atleast mention in the blurb that cheating is involved in it. I have read books involving cheating before, but the circumstances in those books were different than this. I couldn't approve of the cheating in my head. This might work for others but it was not for me.

Violet is assisting a wedding planner organise the biggest wedding to date- but it turns out it's an arranged marriage and neither party are happy but know their roles. These kind of books showcase the downsides of the rich and famous. We all want to be millionaires but it seems to come with a hefty sacrifice.
Love always wins though and I loved the little turn of events for not just Ray and Violet, but Emeline too. Would really love to see a story from her, she was by far my favourite 😍

I was fine with these supposed billionaires oversharing stuff with the wedding planner assistant but I draw the line at Violet & Ray being touchy-kissy on the very first day they meet and while Ray’s engaged and about to married to his fiancé soon…
It may be taboo but the story and the characters are enthralling.
Lilac is not one to go after another woman's man or to put her dream job in jeopardy yet when she meets Ray (the groom) it's a battle to remember that. Ray is wealthy, handsome and smart with a heart that is soft. These two characters are brought together while Lilac is the assistant to his wedding planner and the story begins with what appears to be the beginning of a friendship. Ray finds a friend in Lilac and talks to her about things he can't otherwise voice. Beyond that....all I will say is read the book. It's not all black and white. The grey area here is large. As everything plays out and truths revealed there is so much more than meets the eye. I will reveal that Ray's grandparents are a hoot and cute as hell! James the best man adds a layer of humor also. This book is a bit off my normal kinky reads yet I found myself enthralled with it from start to finish and I look forward to the next two books in this series. Who knew that something that isn't all naughty can be as captivating if not more so. A great book that I can honestly recommend to readers who love sweet and romantic to those who like it really hot.
Ray's and Violet's story is nice, but not great. Characters are flat, plot is non-existent, and the setting not explored enough. It's probably a better story with Book #2, but I'm not interested enough in the characters to learn more.
Stand alone HEA, with further books to come.
Contains sex scenes, swear words (mostly the Lord's name in vain), and bullying. In my mind, there's cheating.
This book has me wondering and feeling being in the tropical island myself. The feeling of wind blowing your hair, the colours and the beach, the ocean. The scenic beauty described will transport you to an actual island. Ray and Violet though. So complicated. When you start crushing on the job is worst but that too on the groom himself and find him reciprocating it, what do you do then. I was excited but also nervous as I hate bonds broken and heartache because of someone straying off temporarily but this was nothing like that. But I hated the Mrs. Brant. That woman. I was so glad when violet finally gives her a piece of her mind. The chaos of the wedding arrangements and the conflicted feelings and emotions floating around. This book surely had me hooked on.
Overall, I actually really liked the story and where she went with it, but the book definitely needs an editor as it suffered from weirdly structured sentences and dialogues, missing words and symbols.
I also wish it had been a bit longer to better establish the progress of feelings between the two characters, which would make it feel so much more authentic, emotional and fulfilling. Even with the "love at first sight" trope, it just went a bit too fast, skipping over so much potential of what could've been great lead-ups to them getting together.
I hope this will be rewritten/remastered at some point - it has so much potential that it feels like a lost opportunity not to.
A wedding is planned to take place on Pearl Island in the Carribean. When Lilac, the wedding planner’s assistant, meets the groom, the rich Raymond Rose, she is immediately attracted to him. She tries to keep things professional until she discovers he is also attracted to her. As guests and parents arrive for the wedding, things get complicated.
The author has written a well-crafted, romantic story with a unique unexpected twist. A great read!
Lexy Timms, you have done it yet again!! I’m in awe of how you repeatedly publish book after book and they are hit after hit. Raymond and Violet’s story is full of ups and downs that will keep you entertained right til the very end! How many illusions have YOU constructed for the world to see??!! I was SOOO not ready for what happened at that wedding!! Can’t wait to read the next installment.
Love at first sight? Well, in the case of Violet Freesia (her mother had a sense of humor), yes, But since the person she’s fallen for is the groom of the wedding she is the assistant event planner for, it’s a bit complicated. Of course, there’s the requisite HEA, but getting there is the fun of it. I was happy to suspend disbelief for this charming story.
Omg, this appears to be a lovely store. I sure can't wait to read the rest of these books in this series to find out the ending. Sometimes in life we come across someone that we may feel we should not have feelings for. But in the end life takes a turn. This book had me laughing and boy what a surprise in this story line you will not be excepting.
First, kudos for excellent editing. Second, this well-written story charms with the protagonist's candor, even when she acknowledges her own errors--and she does err. The forbidden romance strikes quickly and builds steadily via a predictable journey to a predictable conclusion that nonetheless manages to have an unexpected twist. Nicely done.
Let me start by saying I don’t see how this is a “taboo” read it’s forbidden at best. I feel like I would have enjoyed the story more if I knew this wasn’t a real taboo story. The writing wasn’t horrible and the story line was decent. It was really slow at times and didn’t get “omg I can’t put this down” until the end. Would I read the rest of the series? Probably not.
This is my first book by Lexy. I couldn't stop reading this book. It is well written and has lots of mystery and unforseen romance popping up from both sides . It's an amazing story you will love and want more of . Happy reading everyone Anice
The storyline was good, but there was essentially no she development. There were so many errors, word use errors, tense errors, word placement errors. Get an editor, or at least a decent proofreader. With all the books listed by this writer, and the way she loves to write cliffhangers, you would think she could afford it.
Violet gets hired as an assistant to a wedding planner, it's a big high profile wedding. Ray is the groom but he only marrying Emmeline for his family. This is a great story.
While I have enjoyed other books by this author I thought this one was just ridiculous. The story was so predictable and unrealistic. I found it unbelievable. I will not be reading the remaining titles in the series.
Nice lite read and diversion. A little to syrupy sweet with bridezilla and bridezilla mom adding drama. New job as assistant wedding planner with a destination wedding in the tropics. Perfect! If course everything goes wrong.
I'm not usually a fan of tabboos, but the description was enough to reel me in. The writing was more than enough to make me finish it. Loved the lush, tropical setting and the very complicated characters. You don;t wnat to miss this one!
Manipulative, harsh, unloving and unforgiving mother of the bride tries to make her daughter follow her and only her wishes and desires. Thankfully, reason wins out.
The only thing that Nathaniel wanted everything to be perfect, the bride and groom’s family and friends. Mrs.Brant the mother has a bit of a problem with thing’s didn’t go her way. This story was great because…Emeline and Ray found their soulmates, and a happily ever after.
This seemed unrealistic and found myself waiting for it to be done. Not anything I thought it would be based on the title. While it started off strong, it had the feeling it was rushed and not anything I was used to reading. I found myself just getting through it.
Oh Mylanta! This story is a roller coaster of anticipation. You can see the twist and turns coming but they still surprise you when they happen. Definitely going to add the next on the series to my TBR!
