After suffering the tragic loss of her father, Holden was just starting to put the pieces back together. She'd always had a love for the woods that surrounded the town and was taking her usual afternoon hike. The bear came out of nowhere, its attack knocking her unconscious. She woke up in the hospital with a fractured memory of what happened and how she got away relatively unscathed.
In the days of her recovery, Holden is visited by erotic dreams of two gorgeous men, identical twins. They always save her from the bear in the beginning of her dreams. She never imagined her dreams would become a reality when Aleister and Sioux show up at her house, wanting to check on her. With undeniable attraction felt for the twins, the relationship between Holden and the twins becomes steamy and romantic. It doesn't take long for a group of enemy nomadic migrants to realize Aleister and Sioux's affections for Holden.
When abducted by the migrants, Aleister and Sioux will stop at nothing to get her back.
This novella includes hot and steamy scenes for a mature audience only, and does not end in a cliffhanger.
Not going to reiterate about what the story is supposed to be, rather what I found. In the beginning Holden, which is a woman, gets attacked by a bear. The bear is supposedly killed by 2 men by their bare hands. Hmmmm. Later Alistair and Sioux mention huge men, then wolf, the beasts, in their territory. Was this a MFM/ shifter story? Then Alistair gets shot. Right after surgery and waking up, there is a hospital scene along with an immediate intimacy scene that scream not believable, unless this was a shifter story. If it is why not say so? If it isn't, then the proofreader failed miserably because there were numerous errors too. Sorry, just really disappointing.
I didn’t like “jaxonantly” being used as an adjective when presumably it’s the little boy we meet a hundred pages later. This book had an ethereal quality to it. Most of it was about her sister’s Maine Coon cat getting the cat next door knocked up. The story is hokey, as is the language. For example:
“I’m fine, she didn’t really give me any lasting damage,” I said and took a deep breath.”
The dialogue was very trite. Like a sitcom trite.
Weird to call the invaders “migrants”...I always picture apple pickers with the word migrants. Should’ve called them invaders.
I didn’t like the vigilante justice with no trial. That was messed up. “Kill her!” Come on.
They never really come out and say they’re shifters but how else could two guys tear a bear apart? Plus they call themselves a pack. Just own it.
Attraction Posted 4/7/2019 By Henley Maverick Main Characters: Holden, Sioux, and Aleister I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author. 4 out of 5 stars Let me say first that this book was not what I expected. I only read contemporary romances. This appeared to be a shifter or a paranormal book to me. I read it because I signed up to read an ARC and to be fair it was good just not my thing. I love contemporary ménage books and this was an m/f/m. Next time I will read the blurb a little better before I sign up to make sure it is a contemporary romance. Had good character development and was well written.
Aleister and Sioux twin brothers who are part of this small community that have land that someone is trying to steal. In come the other stars of this story two sisters the main character Holden and her sister Sioux. Their father was killed and these men who live in the woods were told by their father to watch over them only they didn't know it until they insinuate theirselves in their lives. The story line was okay and it was interesting but I still couldn't give it a four star rating because you pretty much figure out the outcome and come to realize how the relationships are going to go.
Holden went for a walk in the woods and was attacked by a bear. She is saved by Sioux and Aleister though it's not made clear exactly how they saved her. She winds up in the hospital with some bruised and cracked ribs. She keeps having dreams about the twins who saved her. When she finally meets them, it's a toss up as to who takes whom to bed, since she wants them and they want her. After some problems with people trying to take over their territory, they get their HEA.
This was a decent, quick read about sisters, brothers, humans, wolves, bears and a cat in love. One of the typos in the book made me laugh. During on of the first sex scenes, Holden was "grabbing the sh**s instead of the sheets. I would have like a bit of an epilogue but I guess I can make that up on my own.
Liked the story, but it was a little confusing. I cant tell if the guys are shifters? Or do they have some kind of Sense. There wasn't an explanation on the people in the forrest. Thought those were bears only.
As a first time reader of Henley I am so looking to reading more. What a story. It has steamy hot sex scenes along with intrigue. A definite read for any that lives steamy scenes along with mystery.
I loved how the author left you to figure out what the twins were. The story just flows so smoothly you never lose interest. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a romance with heat and suspense.
