Claudia Monroe is a former prima ballerina, producing a show based on her years with a prestigious ballet company.
After a disaster with one of the show's actors, the director decides to film some scenes in Wintervale, Claudia's hometown. It has been ages since she went back to Vermont and is surprised to find one of her best childhood friends, Reid Burnett, is still there. When everything else in her life is chaos, Reid offers an unexpected port in the storm. But can they just pick up where they left off after so many years apart?
Reid Burnett is a former pro-hockey player who returned to his hometown of Wintervale after a career-ending injury.
Now the owner of The Skate Escape, Wintervale's ice rink, he is settling into a life out of the spotlight but finds that something is missing. When his middle-school crush, Claudia Monroe, comes to town unexpectedly, Reid wonders if that something he was missing is actually a someone...
'Ice Angels' is a 39k word, standalone romance with a guaranteed happy ending and the beautiful bloom of love in a Wintervale spring!
Melodie March is a dreamer and a lover of nature who grew up in New England and adores the tiny town she was born in. When she isn't writing, she is drinking tea on her porch or volunteering at her local animal shelter. She could never pick a favorite holiday, but every winter, she's the first to start decorating her old farmhouse. She lives in Vermont on her very own Pine Street with her husband and rescue yellow labs, Honey and Lemon!
Claudia is a former prima ballerina who is producing a show about her ballet years. When different complications arise with the show, she goes back to her hometown, to her roots, to try and dig up some childhood material and runs into her old buddy, Reid, who is a former hockey player. The small town of Wintervale brought these two together in the past and brings them together in the present, even with all the drama that seems to have followed Claudia.
This story is a sweet and gentle tale, heavy with the small town feels, but light on character depth. I would have loved to dig deeper into the thoughts and feelings of these two flawed characters. While Claudia fled town and seemed to thrive in the city life and limelight, Reid seems content to settle down into the familiarity of his past. Although these characters seem opposite in many ways, they do have the bond of childhood friendship and young crushes to forge their future together.
This is a great story for those who love a clean romance with an uncomplicated flow, simple characters, and a pleasant plot.
Content: mild romance

This is a great addition to the Wintervale series. This book can be read as a stand alone, but honestly, I've loved the whole series, so if you hadn't read the rest, I would go back and read them first. If you have read the others, you will not be disappointed to this addition to the series.
I loved Claudia and Reid. Claudia is a retired ballerina and Reid is an ex-pro hockey player. Both find themselves back in Wintervale where it all began for them. Sparks reignite with this couple and watching their journey is entertaining.
Written as a 3rd person, multi pov with a HEA. Characters from the previous books pop up throughout the story. Strong story line, good description to detail, fantastic dialogue, and awesome characters. All in all, a great read.
Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes. Love this series and hope there will be more.

Second chance romances, best friends to life partners and small tow romances are my favourites. I loved this second chance small town romance between two best friends who had left the town to pursue their dreams: one to become a ballerina and the other to play hockey. The story is well written in third person. The language is simple and the story is beautiful and fast paced. I loved the characters, they are flawed and realistic. How they could not express their feelings for each other in high school was very beautifully portrayed. The secondary characters are supportive and friendly and understanding. This is the first book by the author that I have read and I plan to read more books from her. Though I read this book as a standalone, I did not feel lost, and I plan to read more books in the series.
This story is about two best friends that drifted apart then came back together in their hometown. Both sustained an injury and changed their way of life - Claudia, being a former ballerina, ends up producing a tv series about her ballet years. Then Reid, a former hockey player, decides to buy the hometown ice rink and teaching hockey.
I hesitated on reading this book because it was fourth in the series. Thankfully I didn’t have any troubles following the story, where other series make it a requirement. I enjoy reading about second chances and contemporary romance. This book was right up my alley and was well worth the read.

Life often takes you by surprise when you least expect it. Claudia is a former ballerina who meets up with her childhood friend Reid in the small town where they both grew up. Claudia is under pressure to deliver location shots for the TV documentary based on her life. Reid gets caught up in all the action when he has to fend off pugnacious attention from the young adult actress chosen to play the part of a young Claudia. On top of that, they need to deal with the long-buried feelings they have for each other.
The plot is simple; the characters are relatable and this a quick, easy read in the Wintervale Series. This is the first book by this author that I read, and it provided an enjoyable interlude.
Claudia is a former prima ballerina. She was tasked to produce and write a mini-series about her life. Which leads her and her crew to visit her home town - Wintervale. Here she unexpectedly comes across the one man she never had forgotten and old feelings resurface. A sweet love story - like most of the Wintervale stories in the series - showing small town life and love and all its insecurities. An enjoyable read, not too deep, just enough to not get bored and have believable characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Famous former professional ballerina Claudia Monroe goes back to her home town of Wintervale and reconnects with her childhood friends while shooting a fictional drama based loosely on her life story. She reconnects with her teenage best friend Neil Burnett, a former pro hockey player and sparks fly. But she has to deal with the crazy teenage actress playing Claudia stalking him and her ex-boyfriend finally noticing Claudia and not wanting to let her out of his life. There was plenty of humor in this sweet small town best friends romance.
A good story line with 2 characters who get a second chance at romance. Claudia comes back to her hometown to film scenes for a show she's producing and Reid also returns to his hometown after a hockey injury. Will these 2 find romance with their childhood friends? A good second chance stand alone book with a good story line and great characters. Even though this book is in a series you aren't lost if you haven't read other books from the series.

Ice Angels is a book that has very less to do the ice it's named on.
A story about 2 best friends who drift apart and come back together in their hometown. A story about decisions, regrets, crushes and life, it is a well written book. Sweet and uncomplicated, it's a nice read for those times when you're looking at a uncomplicated read.

Claudia is a retired ballerina and Reid is an ex-pro hockey player, they both had career-ending injuries and have found second career. The town of Wintervale, their hometown, is the perfect background for a second chance romance and wonderful characters.

Although fourth in a series and I haven't read the others, I did not have trouble with the story. I always enjoy those stories that take friends and build on that to something more. The narrative is fun and entertaining.

Melodie March melts the ice with ICE ANGELS. Retired prima ballerina Claudia (Clyde) Monroe heads home to Wintervale, Vermont to produce a television show about her life. While there she bumps into her childhood best friend, retired hockey player, Reid Burnett. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.
ICE ANGELS is an entertaining second chance romance of childhood friends Claudia and Reid. They both had crushes on each other, but it never went anywhere. Clyde headed to Manhattan to study at the American Dance Conservatory. Reid was off playing professional hockey. I like that they could relate to having career ending injuries, and that it brought them back together. They are both now on their second careers. I think it is cool that Reid bought The Skate Escape. The drama that Claudia went through with the production of her show, and her actors was entertaining.
When I got this book, I did not realize that it was the fourth in the series. I did not have any problems following the story. I also, did not feel like I missed anything. I recommend this story to people that enjoy second chance sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I abosulety loved the story. I love the way the author write the story. It was very well written. I am looking forward to read more books from this author
