Mysterious, suspenseful and romantic.

The book was very good but not many of the questions I had from book one were answered. Some of them were, but the ones that were answered pretty much just brought up more questions. Of course I won’t spill any of them here, but to say that this book did forward the plot quite a bit. Jax and Emma are working together to try to figure out why her family wanted to get their hands on the castle and what really happened to Hunter North.

The romance between Jax and Emma certainly heats up now that they are staying at the Castle together, though I have to admit there was a little bit where I was getting sort of tired of them going back and forth with the “should we be together or shouldn’t we because my family hates your family”. Emma would be fine one minute and then all of the sudden she would get it in her head that the family drama was too much and couldn’t be overcome. Then Jax would have to talk her down again. Though I guess it generally did lead to more Intimacy which was quite steamy so it did serve a purpose.

Savage, the security specialist is quite the character in this book. I wonder if he will get his own book at some point. He is a total Alpha male who is not afraid to speak his mind. He certainly doesn’t like Jill, the woman who works with Jax and was his brother Hunter’s fiancé before he died. Savage is also protecting Emma from her Ex-boyfriend York who treated her very badly when they were together and tried to control her. I almost forgot to mention that Savage also has to protect Emma from Jax’s younger brother Brody who hates her entire family including her.

The book is continually bringing up conspiracies and mysteries as they try to solve Hunter’s death and every time they talk to different people it is obvious that the other people (such as Emma’s brother Chance and his assistant Randall) know things but won’t tell them so it is frustrating for the characters and me. But that is the beauty of the mystery and suspense. There is a huge cliffhanger, actually two big reveals at the end. So be warned. I can’t wait to read on. Though I will have to since it isn’t published yet. Darn...

And the plot thickens!

There were so many secrets in the first book that I had no idea what could have caused it all. I just knew that two people from waring families found out that their attraction was stronger. In One Woman, Jax and Emma will have to decide if that attraction is stronger than those secrets. Secrets that could mean murder.

I enjoyed this book mainly because despite not knowing the truth, Jax and Emma took a chance on each other. Emma fears that once the secrets are revealed that it could tear them apart, however Jax is determined that they are stronger than that. We got a whole book of these two together and working to stay together.

A pretty big plot bomb was dropped at the end of this book but there are still so many questions. I'm starting to eye some of these side characters very suspiciously. I'm anxious to know if I am choosing the true enemies or not. I'm going to try to patiently wait for the conclusion.

Holy heck! This author is killing me with these cliffhangers. I need answers ASAP!

description

This picks up exactly where One Man ends. The tension is high, the horror Emma experiences is real, and danger is a shadow threatening her at every turn. As Jax and her attempt to find solutions and answers, that only lead to more questions, they are struggling to hold tight to their new relationship.

’We are traveling on this path between families together, a path with history we do not know or understand, but everything between us isn’t about the path. It’s about the many paths we’ve traveled separate and apart of the one that presents itself in the here and now.’

I absolutely love Emma and the sheer strength of will she holds within her as she has overcome so much in her life. And once she is all in with Jax, she must then make a heartbreaking decision that might result in her removing herself from his life forever. It was soul wrenching and the reason was a nightmare of epic proportions. My respect for her grew throughout this story as her secrets are slowly revealed.

’I choose right now to believe he will be the best thing that ever happened to me. Because he feels like more than a lover. He feels like a best friend I’m just getting to know. The kind of best friend a girl could fall in love with.’

description

Jax is absolute perfection. Despite the past that threatens to tear Emma and him apart, he is determined to hold fast to her. Living a current Romeo and Juliet story, he refuses to let her go, even if one of their biggest concerns ends up being true and her family really is responsible for his brother’s death.

’”I have always been a man who goes for what he wants, who fights until I’m bloody, but bloody doesn’t mean I lose. It means I can take the pain if it means we win. Watch and see.”’

At each turn of the page we are given answers that lead to more questions. Some are shocking and some will leave you looking around every corner for who the true villain is. At the heart of the mystery is the burgeoning love between Jax and Emma. What they have sizzles across every page, made more intense by Jax’s desire to protect her at every cost. I love the way this author integrates incredible suspense and intrigue with romance that causes your heart to boom.

This story kept me engaged from beginning to end with a pace that, while not action filled, had enough emotional conflict I didn’t want to skim a word. Secondary characters range from our favorite Walker Security expert, Savage, to family, friends and employees – any of who could be the cause of Jax’s brother’s death. With another cliffhanger that has me snarling, I wanted to throw my kindle. I knew it was going to end in a cliffie, but holy heck, this author knows how to grab you and keep you, ensuring you’ll want to read the next addition to the series.

Holy batman, this book starts right where One Man left off, Jax took Emma to his family castle the same castle that Emma's family wants. When exploring Emma comes to opening just as Emma steps out on ledge someone grab her and she is dangling over edge, now Emma is hanging over a cliff and Jax's brother Brody is the spiting hateful words at her. Brody blames the Knights for his brother Hudson death and this ledge was same ledge they found his body. As Jax finds Emma dangling over edge by the hands of his brother Brodie he is pissed and demands Brodie bring her back and let Brodie know that Emma means something to him and if he dropped her he would kill him. With so many secrets between their families Emma wonders if it their relationship can survive the feud & secrets.

Now remember Jax hired Walker Security in One Man which they get Savage as their security specialist and as we all know Savage is funny 1 liners, huge & brutality honest, he is all Alpha male who gets all the answers and protects the people he's in charge of. Emma is also terrified of York her ex's who continues to threaten to reveal all the secrets he has on her to ruin not only the Knights name & brand but also Jax North.

As Jax & Emma try to get answers regarding the mystery of Hunter's death and who is responsible more secrets are coming out and more not answered questions. When at the plot thickens you don't know who to trust who is the good guys nor the villains, while Jax was entertaining guest/customer of North Whiskey in castle at festival they have every year Emma gets spooked again and runs to bathroom someone slide another note under door is the last thing Emma expects, who can she trust because the note contains damaging information that could lead to who killed Hunter was it Jax or her brother Chance? As Emma tries to destroy evidence when she turns around she met by the woman in the red dress BOOM cliffhanger. Who Killed Hunter? Who is the woman in the Red dress?

One Woman is the second installment in the "Naked" trilogy and it continues right off where the first book leaves off. We are taken to the state of lovely Maine, where they have traveled to the hero's castle like mansion. His brother has threatened the life of Emma, and the mystery involving their families is only building more and more. We see how intense their relationship is and how its evolving. Their building of faith and trust in each other is truly emotional in its small moments. I love how "together" they are despite the secrets involving their two families. In this installment, we get some important reveals but we also see some good growth to the story but we also see lots of intensity and intrigue that has been building in the suspense aspects. But also we get a fun added character (who does have his own trilogy----Rick Savage) and it was so fun to see him in this trilogy and his personality made me just realize why he is such a memorable character. I had a blast with this one and it was a easy quick read.

One Woman picks up right where One Man left off, and Jax springs into action immediately. He's not about to let his brother hurt Emma, the woman he's falling in love with. But, Brody still believes that Emma is just like her family. Who is Jax to believe? Emma, the woman he's realizing is not like the rest of her family? Or his own brother?

Damn...this trilogy just keeps ramping up the intensity and the questions with each installment. There's so much going on here that it's a wonder that Emma and Jax got through to the end. I love how they fought to be together, fought for each other. They're realizing that they are not only falling in love but that really they need to rely on each other. I feel for them, though, because there are still mysteries and secrets and they're so much in the dark about a lot. Their journey to falling in love has a lot of obstacles, but they're sticking with each other, thankfully. But of course, true to form, there's another cliffhanger and now I'm left with even more questions than I had when One Man ended.

I did not see One Woman taking us where it did. The suspense is killing me.

Yes, One Woman picks up where One Man ended but it’s so much more than the continuance of the story. Emma truly comes into her own and shows us just how strong a woman she is. One Man may have been about Jax and his thirst to find out the truth but, One Woman is about a strong, sexual and determined woman who is coming to believe that everyone is out to get her.

Jax is still Jax. He’s still trying to convince her that they could find out the answers together and nothing will come between them. Emma is having her doubts. Surprised that he didn’t run when she told him about her past, she is starting to trust him and his words. Only to have people around every corner trying to tear them apart … Brody, Jill, Chance, York and the mysterious Echo. Who knows the truth of that fateful night? Who is next to try to tear them apart? So many unanswered questions that need to be answered so that we could find out just where Jax and Emma land.

One Woman gave us way more questions than answers and we can only hope, with the cliff-hanger ending on this one, that the answers are what we want them to be. Who is she … who knows the real truth … will what Emma found out be the one thing that does end them? I am looking forward to Two Together to learn what the real truths are. Yes, sitting on the edge of my seat waiting and wondering. But, I have one more thing to say about Lisa Renee Jones and her writing style … yes, she knows how to keep us in suspense but, I love that she knows how to bring light into the darkness. She knows when a little “easy” reading is called for in the middle of the chaos and she sure knows how to write an erotic scene without it being over the top.

Emma came close to losing her life in the hands of Brody. He thinks she and her family killed his older brother and he was about to exact his revenge when Jax interrupted them. It was a close call!

This installment of our story focuses more on the relationship that is building between Jax and Emma. They cannot keep their hands off each other! And while they are falling in love hard, Emma cannot help but wonder how they will build a lasting relationship while their families and allies are still feuding. Until they are able to solve some of the mysteries surrounding Hunter's murder, she can see no clear way to forever.

Although at times this book reads like a soap opera, the plotline is gripping and the mysteries kept me wanting to read more. I can hardly wait for the final book to find out what really happened to Hunter.

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I thank the author for sharing a copy with me.

4.5 Intense Stars

So many secrets still left to uncover. All the while Emma and Jax embrace their connection and try to move forward and ready to fight to hold on to what they have.

In part two of the story Jax North and Emma Knight we’re still no close to knowing the whole truth of what started the war between the two families. So many secrets are still unanswered and the closer they get the more questions they end up with. But through it all it’s quite clear that Jax will stop at nothing to hold on to what he has with Emma. Emma, too, wants to hold on tightly but fears when everything is finally out in the open it will tear them apart.

When it comes to suspense and passion the intensity level for book two is only increasing to nail biting levels. I don’t know what’s in store for the conclusion to their story but I’m seriously anxious to find out.

Jesus Christ on a cracker!!! *deep breath*

I don’t think I have ever been more excited for a duet/trilogy/story to come to its conclusion. This story is just unbelievably intense and edgy and riddled with twists and secrets. I’ve tried from the beginning to try and guess what may be happening futuristically with these two but its pointless because just when I think I have it … I have nothing. TRUST NOTHING!

I have to say, I am seriously impressed with the level of anticipation and excitement this story has held from the very beginning. From the very first page/scene of One Man I have been on edge. It is glorious and I have to give props to Lisa for having the talent to be able to unfold this story flawlessly so far. I cannot wait to read what’s in store next …..

Much the same as the first book with the to and fro. The battle between secrets and honesty ina two day old “relationship “. He is moving very quickly in trying to get her to the castle, then to his home, then staying put. After such a short time together she has every right to question things. As soon as she does though he says
Your pulling away
Where did you go just now
You don’t trust me
We are more than our families
Etc
The plot doesn’t really move at all under the last few chapters. I’m hoping book three can finally reveal everything that has been put off or sexed over🙃

This is one continuation that I was overeagerly awaiting. The heart-startling ending of the first book was pure adrenaline. And here is the very intense, perfectly suspenseful second part that I devoured with glee.

The setting is a chilling castle with dark corners and malfunctioning electricity where evil men and tragic memories lurk. Emma and Jax battle the feud between their families a la Romeo and Juliet. And it is erotic, passionate, raw and gripping.

The mystery that surrounds a dead brother and enemy families is brewing really dark and enigmatic. I enjoyed the tension that pulls this couple apart at every opportunity, but they fight back with ferocity. Maybe she runs scared a few times, but she holds deep scars and I understood her knee-jerk reaction. She is still brave and caring, and he is determined to keep her as his forever. That was so good. Savage makes his acutely unforgettable contribution to security and foul-mouthed dialogues. This man is a diamond in the rough, emphasis on rough.

The relationship goes down a winding path among dirty surprises and threats everywhere. There's no dull moment both in plot and in couple scenes. They are sizzling, and even fun in some teasing ways. And while the two empires seem to run in collision course, another mortal cliffhanger delivers the killing blow. Big way to end for now. I am devoted to this story!

With Emma’s and Jax’s families involved in a vendetta they are caught between loyalty and love. Their heads are at war with their hearts and they know that the only way for them to truly be happy is to uncover all the family secrets that stand between them.

The chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever but as they investigate and information is revealed will it bring them closer or tear them apart?

Secrets, twists, suspense and heat abound as Emma and Jax try to protect their relationship and get the answers they need.

Ahhh...so much goodness between the pages of this one! Twists and turns and another cliffhanger! I want the third book NOW in my hot little hands before I go crazy! Just when Emma and Jax decide to let everything settle and try to get on with their lives they are hit with more bombshells. No matter what they do or how close they become, something or someone comes between them. Cryptic? Yea, that's all you are going to get because you have to read the first book and then this one and be left with the same bomb cliffhanger I was and waiting on the edge of your seat just like me...waiting for the ending! BRING IT! I definitely recommend this series and having Savage a part of this just makes me more eager for his series, too!

Well, Lisa Renee Jones has done it again.

This book picks up where book one ended - with Emma’s life hanging in Brody’s hands. He is out for revenge and Emma is the enemy in his sights at the time. Meanwhile, Jax, owns her heart but what kinds of secrets is he keeping from her.

This book will keep you flipping the pages to see what is going to be thrown between Jax and Emma. Plus, who is behind everything? Many questions left unanswered and then the end..... what a cliffhanger!

This is a wonder trilogy and I can’t wait to get the last book and I NEED IT NOW!

Jax and Emma are both two people with their own secrets. They are together and falling hard for each other. But as they say... The secrets of the father are not always buried with the dead!

With so many secrets unfolding and lots of questions still to be answered I couldn't wait to jump into the second part of Jax and Emma's story. Lisa Renee Jones has once again given us romantic suspense at it's best. Jax and Emma still have a long way go and it's hard to know who to really trust. I know who I'm rooting for but I'll have wait a while longer to get my hands on book 3 to find out the truth.

I was excited to read this book after the last one left off on a cliffhanger, but overall I was disappointed. The book didn't really move anywhere until the last 30%. Up until then it was just watching them rehash their trust issues over and over AND OVER. She keeps trying to run and he keeps trying to reassure her. There's this part where an envelope addressed to her is left at the door, and they freak out about it for so many pages (Should they open it before she sees it? We need to test it for toxins! Who could have left it?) Only to find that the envelope is EMPTY. Seriously!

Then when they get to to the topic of what blackmail York has on her past, it felt like a competition to see how long they could talk in circles without revealing any interesting information. Once she finally is honest, the book starts getting interesting again like the first book was. But that first 70% felt like filler.

I hate when I mess up and not read the first book of a trilogy because it leaves some of the story out and would explain some of what is going on in the story. I will go back and read book 1 first to see how the story fleshes together.

I did like the story between Jax and Emma. Jax is all in on Emma and the things he does to help protect her. Some family issues may destroy everything they want from each other. Does the family issues destroy this couple? Do the secrets they each keep help or hurt the pair?

Some parts of the story really pulled at my heart when Emma revealed some things she experienced. Emma is one strong women. Jax is wanting to shield and protect Emma.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date September 17, 2019

Emma and Jax came together in the midst of secrets and lies, but in a castle in Maine, they seek passion and sanctuary. What they find is a mystery that could stretch beyond all their expectations. And what Emma finds is danger.

One Woman begins where One Man ended, with Emma one step from death and Jax the only man who can save her.

••••••••••

REVIEW: 4.25 stars-ONE WOMAN is the second instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult NAKED erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on thirty-four year old, billionaire financial planner for North Whiskey Jax North, and twenty-eight year old hotel heiress Emma Knight. ONE WOMAN should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one ONE MAN.

Told from dual first person perspectives ( Jax and Emma) ONE WOMAN continues to focus on the search for the truth. In the aftermath of Emma’s father’s death, and the perceived suicide of Jax’s brother Hunter, Jax and Emma struggle to come to terms with what happened and why. While Emma’s brother Chance is desperate to keep Emma away from Jax North, there are other players in the game whose sole purpose is to destroy our leading couple. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Jax and Emma, and that potential fall-out as Emma’s past, Chance’s business partners, and Jax’s family push at the proverbial envelope in an effort to tear our couple apart.

The relationship between Jax and Emma is sexually erotic, sensual and vulnerable. Emma must put her trust in a man who, in the beginning, targeted our heroine for the death of his brother; and Jax must come to terms with his attraction and growing love for the daughter of the man out to destroy them all. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and intense.

ONE WOMAN is a story of family, betrayal, and vengeance; power, money and control. The premise is engrossing, intelligent and spicy; the romance is provocative; the characters are strong and edgy. Rick Savage returns as part of the Walker Security Team-Savage’s story begins with Savage Hunger in December 2019. ONE WOMAN ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

The next book in this trilogy starts off exactly where we left off in One Man. And thank you, Lisa, for giving a little rundown of the previous book – it jogged my memory on a few things I forgot.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book, but hoping there would be some answers to all the secrets from the first book. There was so much going on and I just knew something very painful to both families was going to be the cause of it all. And I was right. The roller coaster does not end with this book but only gets more intense.

In book two we find out two major secrets… one involving Emma that she doesn’t think she and Jax will recover from and the other… well, that one can bring both families down in a bad way. This book puts Jax and Emma’s relationship front and center with the question of will they will be able to survive the new revelations and if so, how? This entire book is about solidifying their relationship and taking things on together. To be honest I was worried, and you’ll understand why when you read it.

I loved this book and enjoyed the ups and down and twists and turns so much! Lisa knows how to weave a suspenseful yet romantic tale. There is plenty of steam in this one so make sure you have some wine handy and it would probably be good to read it alone. Jax and Emma connect in such a visceral way its just.. .gah!

The HUMUNGUS reveal at the end of the book will shock you… and don’t miss the little detail right after this revelation, it will bring more questions. And these questions involve some of the side characters – one I didn’t care for in the first place and a new one you introduced to in this book.
I hope to hear more about Brody, the youngest brother. We only get to hear from him I the beginning of One Woman. Also, I have to say Savage has popped up on my radar as a side character I want to know more. His loyalty to Jax and Emma is refreshing.

Is it November already????? I can’t wait for the ending!!!

mystery, romance, power struggles ... brilliant

Lisa Renee Jones continues weaving her story of mystery, suspense and romance in ONE WOMAN, book two in her Naked Trilogy. Of course, she's not making matters easy for Emma and Jax. One Woman was all about trust, Emma and Jax being able to take a chance with each other, even though there is nothing but secrets surrounding them.

I really love Emma and Jax. Here you have a woman who was always looked down upon, made to feel weak, yet beneath lies a woman of strength. Emma has allowed Jax to get beneath her skin, to become a part of her, yet she makes the heart breaking decision to take herself away from him, to ensure no harm comes to him. Jax is simply perfect. Everything he says and does is always with Emma in is thoughts. He encourages her and gives her strength when she needs it. He also gives her love, something that has always been missing from her life.

Set at the North Castle, there is always something dark and foreboding lurking around every corner. Dealing with ex-fiances, mysterious envelopes and strange men, keeps the adrenslin flowing. What is the secret that has been hidden? How will it affect the dynamics of both the North and Knight families?

Yet again Ms Jones has finished with a humdinger of a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the final book, TWO TOGETHER, to come out ... it will be amazing. I fully expect more mystery, romance and power struggles.

Exceptional reading and definitely recommended.

After keeping us on a cliffhanger, I have been eagerly anticipating this book to pick up Emma and Jax's story and pick it up we do...from exactly where we were left.

This was a journey of frustration, anticipation and being sat on the edge of your seat biting your fingernails. You do need to have read 'One Man' first for this to make any sort of sense. Jax and Emma should be enemies as their family's are enemies but neither really understands why this is the case and if Emma's father played any role in the death of Jax's brother.

This book is entirely set at the castle Jax has inherited where friendly faces for Emma are in short supply. There is so much unknown but some secrets are slowly spilt in this book, particularly relating to Emma. What is clear though is that you should not underestimate Emma as she has a grit and fight to her that you don't expect. For those that love Walker Security, they play their part here too and we get more of the hilarious Savage.

Yes this was frustrating but in every way that was right and satisfying. For every question answered, there were at least two more that needed answering. So, yes we ended up this book with more questions than answers and we ended up eagerly anticipating book 3 in this trilogy. Do I want to get my hands on it now? Yes absolutely, patience is not my strong point when it comes to books I am waiting for. Please hurry!

Emma never imagined how much her life would end up changing upon deciding to place her trust in Jax North. The man excites her. He makes her question things she'd never thought about before. In doing so, he opens her mind to the possibilities and implications of the secrets surrounding her family and his. In order to set all wrongs to right, she'll need to understand what's not being said. To do that, she'll need to rely on her insticts and Jax every step of the way. All the while, she'll need to keep an eye on her surroundings, for there are those intent on silencing her at every turn.

An awesome continuation for this series, One Woman catapults us further into Emma's dilemma. This is a woman who's still smarting from the death of her father. A woman who isn't sure which way is up or down. To make matters worse, unimaginable secrets are coming to the light. Secrets that will not only destroy her, but those around her. If she's to succeed in finding out what she needs to know, she'll need to dig a little deeper without causing further turmoil.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Every book Lisa writes is better than the last. She keeps giving us such intriguing stories full of characters we've come to know and love. In this series, she takes things a little further, giving us a mystery that begs to be uncovered. How long that will take remains to be seen. Nevertheless, I look forward in getting there when the time comes.
