Timothy Brendan Kennelly, usually known as Brendan Kennelly, was an Irish poet and novelist. He was Professor of Modern Literature at Trinity College Dublin until 2005. Following his retirement he was a Professor Emeritus at Trinity College.

For better or worse, some lines are better and some worse, but a dastardly idea made into an engaging book of poems. On to the Book of Judas!

Not having a great head for poetry, however this is very readable, and I confess this is the only poem of Brendan's i'm really familiar with....a step inside the head of an infamous and feared man [Cromwell not Kinelly!]
