Some good places in here to add to my list of stuff to do in Japan.

Kyu Asakusa House - Only 100 Yen to get in and see a traditional house
Ota Memorial Museum of Art - Harajuku - Woodblock print and the pieces are constantly rotated
Cafe Kitsune - Omotesando - Coffee/Tea House
Aoyama Flower Market - Omotesando - This has popped up again, so clearly a must visit!
Nezu Museum - Omotesando - Another one that is popping up in my readings, so must be added to the list. Art and a tea house. Can't really go wrong here.
Bear Pond Espresso - Shimokitazawa - Not a coffee drinker but the wife is and this seems like a cool place to get a drink
Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum - Shimokitazawa - They do a indigo dyeing workshop and that is reason enough to go!
Hamarikyu Gardens - Ginza & Tokyo Station - Gardens and Tea Houses always win me over. The plum blossoms and rape seed flowers would be stunning.

Day Trips
Karuizawa - This place looks amazing plus flying squirrels!
Hakone - Old railways through bamboo, Open-Air Museum and the Great Boiling Valley. Sounds lovely to me.
Kyoto - We have been to Kyoto before but we're always looking for something else to see. Murin-an - Japanese Garden constructed in 1896 and a 'Place of Scenic Beauty'. 410 Yen to get in and not open in the winter, March through October only.

While a trip to Japan seems far off for me, reading through this felt like a cozy way to travel from wherever I happened to be~ Anna has a lovely way of describing the unique details in each excerpt, with a sense of awe and respect that comes through even in such a small paragraph. The photographs offer lovely snapshots of each area, often seeming unobtrusive and natural to the location. Most of the places mentioned are in well-known areas, but aren't the spots guides typically point towards, making the recommendations feel a tad more personal, and trusted.

Quite a few interesting places rather than just eating spots so I quite like it! Wish I have a trip line up to make use of this book
