Eldon Farrell

Eldon Farrell is an avid reader, writer, and author of the upcoming novel The Thief of Baria. A professionally trained accountant, Eldon has spent more than two decades reading and writing thriller novels. Readers have described his novels as “fast-paced”, “full of action”, and “edge-of-your-seat” reading.

He is a lover of language, and an unapologetic fan of DC Comics, who does recognize the irony in the redundancy. A child of the eighties, when not writing, he can still be found in the shadows of Grayskull or trying to get back to the future.

A series of standalone prologues for Eldon Farrell's Singularverse.

Personally, I prefer Mr. Farrell's longer format stories, as longer formats gives him the opportunity to flesh out his characters with more depth. Sometimes the characters here seemed thinly, or shallowly drawn, and then moments later would be given more depth by an unexpected emotional response.

A little bit like a gut punch from a friend, or a complete stranger, and your left wondering what was that for, and I think this is driven by attempting to compress character development into a smaller format.

However, that said, there's some very clever and emotionally effective story telling going on here, the earthquake story and the last story in the book which connects directly up to the series were very good.

Looking forward to the next full sized book in the series.

This companion collection of short stories to the Singularverse was easily the highlight of my winter months!! As a thriller/action/and a little extra something novel, it filled in some questions I had about the characters I met in Singularity (Nathan!!!!!!!!!! <3) and managed to be intriguing on its own.

An entrancing, utterly intriguing read, packed with emotions and the usual rollercoaster ride of action I've come to expect from Mr. Farrell. So find a comfy seat, grab your favorite snacks and dig into this collection. You'll be begging for the 2nd book in the series by the time you're done! :) I know I did!
