When Memory Fails is the latest release in the Harry Bronson series. This book takes the reader on the road to a ghost town in search of a ledger containing information that could destroy a family's wealth and power. One group of people are hoping to find the ledger to right the wrongs of their family history, while another group hopes to locate and destroy it along with anyone who stands in their way. Bronson suffers an injury that causes major issues for him, rendering him unable to use his training and experience to help him. I don't want to give away anything more. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Fans of Harry Bronson will be delighted with his newest adventure in When Memory Fails. The action is non-stop as Bronson accompanies his nephew and girlfriend to a Colorado ghost town in search of a lost ledger. When the family patriarch passed away in the early 1900s, he left behind a mysterious ledger containing lists of people the family wronged. He wants his granddaughter to set things right by paying people back. Then she, and the ledger, disappear. Fast-forward to modern day, and Bronson’s nephew comes to him for help when his girlfriend gets caught up in a deadly family dispute. But how can Bronson help when a blow to the head robs him of his memory? This installment in the series is a real edge-of-the-seat ride!
This was the first book By L.C. Hayden that I have read. While When Memory Fails is the 5th book in the Harry Bronson series, it can be read as a stand-alone story.
When Memory Fails is a fast-paced adventure tracing Bronson, his nephew, and his nephew’s girlfriend’s as they race to uncover family secrets before they fall in the wrong hands. This is a wonderfully written book with twists and turns to keep the reader intrigued throughout the story.
I’d never read anything by this author before but this book sounded interesting so I decided to give it a try. I like the characters and the story really moved. It was hard to put down.
LC Hayden – Harry Bronson Mystery – When Memory Fails – Reviewed 12/5/19 A bang on the head … can't remember… what was I doing??? Flashes of thoughts, are they real???

What did I like? This started out a little slow but I think that is the way that the author intended. She slowly builds the action until you just can’t put the book down due to it being so intense with the action exploding on almost every page. Several times I thought I had it figured out and BLAM it changed. This family was like the little Moffia of the time.
What will you like? Be prepared for this book to just start popping. The characters are excellent and fit the storyline to a tee! The descriptions are exceptional and they take you right into the story. You can feel the eerieness of the ghost town all around you. The crumbling buildings, dust, and dirt, with death and dying in the wind so heavy it will make you sneeze. The emotional fight from the blackness to the light of day with his memories make your heartbreak. Even though this was an intense book it is filled with a little humor that makes everything come together in one exceptional read.
