A vulnerable attempt to discover joy and inner peace, Forget Me Not is a gentle reminder to embrace the beauty of our pasts. In three distinct sections, this sequential collection illustrates how the challenges we endure nurture, mold, and transform us as we emerge anew.
In a style of her own, ZaMari Love combines the succinctness and profundity of contemporary poets with the literary devices of poetry pioneers. A lover of words since childhood, she was introduced to poetry through her mother’s Saturday morning rotation of neo-soul and the bass-heavy hip hop her father played in his Ford Explorer. She began writing at the age of twelve as a form of catharsis. Over a decade later, she uses poetry to help herself and others make sense of the inexplicable parts of life.
Aside from writing, ZaMari enjoys singing, reading, painting and laughing over wine. A graduate of Hampton University, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and Spanish and is a graduate student at Old Dominion University.
One of my fav poetry collections to return to! Love’s way with words is so powerful and thought provoking! I can spend 5 minutes re-reading and deciphering the meaning behind one poem lol we need an audio version of her reciting them! Can’t wait for her next collection to be released!
Yes, this is my friend so I am biased, but she’s also a great writer/poet! Watching her poetry grow and change from middle school has been an amazing experience!
