Wonderful collected history of the Newman Movement from its founding at Penn and hierarchical opposition to its more modern form and Church institutionalization. This should be on the shelf of many involved in ministry, those interested in the development of American lay Catholicism, and even for those interested in the history of higher education and student organizing.
