As a book for uni I didn't expect much from 'Understanding Computers'. I was pleasantly surprised. It s up-to-date with the new technologies, in fact its latest edition was published late last year. It was a little 'babies first computer book' but it was meant to be. As a first year text book, it's pretty awesome.
